J.R.'s Family Bar-B-Q

Feedback and Random Thoughts...

People ask all the time about what DVDs are being produced? I am asked to consult from time to time but the bottom line is this…if it will make money it is a viable candidate for distribution. I do like hearing your ideas nonetheless. The King is being a “fair weather” commentator? That’s news to me. Not sure what it means exactly. I assume we should be the battling Bickerson’s from start to finish of a show?? That sounds like Heyman and J.R. Is this really THAT important of an issue? I absolutely keep in contact with Jim Cornette, arguably the greatest manager ever along with Bobby Heenan. JC is one of my oldest friends and one of the most talented individuals ever in the biz. And yes he is VERY high strung and set in his ways. So what?! Perhaps the best wrestler to never hold a World Title might be Roddy Piper, Paul Orndorff or Arn Anderson. All three were big time. There are probably a handful of others that fit into this category too. Why doesn’t the WWE sign this wrestler or that wrestler? I am not in that loop any longer nor am I asked very often for my opinion so I don’t know. I do know that many guys that fans want the WWE to sign are already under contract to other companies. Mic skills are definitely a necessity for a wrestler to become a bona fide main eventer and to stay there over the long haul in today’s marketplace. A great talker who can’t wrestle sounds like a manager to me. I did see the rap song about my ass and thought it was funny. There is a lot of free time out there it would seem. I assume who ever created this piece of “art” is not a J.R. fan. Neither is my ex-wife. I can only assume that Jesse Ventura’s commentary is missing on some WWE 24/7 elements due to legal issues. Personally, I haven’t missed it until it was brought to my attention. Do others feel like I have sounded tired the past few weeks? I think I am fine physically. My doctor says I am. Every match can’t be at the main event level or the main event means less. An announcer always has to give himself a place to go when it is nut cutting time, too. Maybe I’m losing it and need to get my resume ready. I thought Gangrel was going to be a part of ECW but I guess I was wrong. Beats me of his whereabouts. I have occasionally used real names instead of stage names on live TV but not lately…I don’t think. Human errors do occur. The Buzz Sawyer vs. Tommy Rich Cage Match in the Omni was a classic bloodbath full of drama and realism. It was great old school wrestling not for the weak at heart. Sawyer was a little insane and ultra talented while Tommy Rich was as loved as any one to ever appear on TBS. I don’t think Shelton Benjamin is underutilized. If Shelton wants more action then he knows what he needs to do to get noticed and to live up to his potential. I love the kid but being underutilized…no way. Ron Simmons could very well make his way into the WWE Hall of Fame some day. Nice suggestion and deservedly so…in time. I loved the War Games and think it could carry a PPV. A War Games DVD would be hot. War Games was a great concept but it eats up so many talents that it depletes the undercard drastically at a time there is little depth. Our Norman Bar-B-Q eatery will be at I-35 and Main Street where the Krispy Kreme used to reside. We hope to be open in April with store # 1. Tony Schiavone, as we confirmed earlier this week, is doing radio in north Georgia. Tony made a stab at returning to the WWE a few years ago but apparently it did not work out for him. I wish Tony and his family well. We had a lot of fun together but were pitted against each other by TBS executives who liked to stir the manure. Sadly, we both fell for it for too long. I love boxing and the greatest heavyweight champion for my money is Muhammad Ali who I once spend 3 days with sharing a suite in the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Orleans. Wow. What an experience! I am not going to rehash the VKM storyline on TNA. It is old news and I have addressed it enough. Same for ECW. The old ECW is not coming back under a WWE umbrella. Don’t kill the messenger but that’s simply my opinion and observation. The worst moment I have experienced in wrestling was sitting a few feet from Owen Hart when he fell to his death in Kansas City. I still have not watched that event after all these years. Getting news of Brian Pillman’s death was a tough one too. There are significant stories surrounding each of these tragedies that I will write more about some day. Chris Masters may well be a main event level wrestler some day, but as most young wrestlers, he has some miles to go before that happens in my opinion. Who would I like to see on RAW? Stone Cold, Hogan, Rock, Jim Cornette, and others that are not likely to return on a regular basis. C.M. Punk and Chris Benoit would be nice full timers though. I agree there are a ton of wrestling PPVs. I don’t schedule them, I just show up and work when assigned. The consumers will determine if there are too many for sure over the long haul. I think Booker T would make a great TV personality/commentator when the day comes. That one is an easy one to answer. For the reader, sorry you don’t like my work. I know it isn’t for everybody, but it is too late in the game for me to change significantly. Just use the mute button when J.R. is working. When celebrities get in the ring they receive training but usually not enough to keep from getting their asses kicked and to be sore for days. Lex Luger in the WWE Hall of Fame? Excuse me? Jeff Jarrett in the WWE Hall of Fame? Excuse me? Mr. McMahon gave me the hat as a part of my persona. I hated it at first but wouldn’t leave home without it now when going to work. As usual, Mr. McMahon proves once again he is MUCH smarter than yours truly. Bob Backlund has been offered to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in the past but has turned in down. Bob deserves to be honored. OU’s All American wrestler Jake Hager is doing excellent in the WWE developmental program. I just hope Jake is not called up too early in his training. Jake is a keeper nonetheless. I loved the party atmosphere in the Maritimes and I think I had a little too much fun the last time I was there. I don’t remember for sure. The fans in the Maritimes are great! That I do remember. Charlie Haas can be as good in the ring as he decides he wants to be. Charlie has every physical tool necessary to be a main event level star. Do I want to be involved on the creative team? Uh, no thanks. Still no word on when Harry Smith will debut. 2007 though looks obvious. When and where is anyone’s guess. Paulie Walnuts of “The Soprano’s” fame was in a Stacker 2 commercial with the Dudleys and/or Trish I think. Someone will know. Kane and The Undertaker are both in the 6’8” to 6’10” range I would guess. They are each “big enough”. Jackson you must really like soap operas and the wrestling “dirt”. I can’t even begin to address your request to clear up rumors that are totally “unfounded”. Rule of thumb is that if rumors are unconfirmed and sound too bizarre to be true that they probably are. Don’t believe all the rumors you read much like the evening news. I don’t see Ric Flair retiring anytime soon unless Mother Nature taps him on the shoulder and health issues force “Naitch” to hang ‘em up. Ric still loves getting into the ring too much to stop on his own….which is either a blessing or a curse. If you want to be a member of the WWE Creative Team I will say a prayer for you and direct you to the WWE Corporate site where Human Resources has the info you are looking for. The less info I know about a given show I broadcast the better. I like surprises so I can react like the fan I am. I am not an actor so J.R. acting doesn’t come off too well. Bad acting in wrestling sucks. I am better when I am “real” and natural, I think. The brand extension is here to stay from the best I can tell. I would suggest one earn a college degree no matter what area of the business one wants to pursue including being a wrestler. One more time, Bret The Hitman Hart is physically unable to wrestle again due to issue having to do with a serious stroke he had a few years ago. Trust me, if Bret could wrestle today I would be the first in line to buy a ticket to see him. Will DX add any new members? I doubt it, but I think it could be intriguing if they did. The lack of great managers these days is akin to the lack of great wrestlers these days. Quality depth in most areas of the business doesn’t exist. The business has to start developing new people to fill a variety of roles within the biz. Stone Cold probably will never wrestle again but I fully expect the Texas Rattlesnake to be involved at Wrestlemania 23 in some undetermined role. Perhaps Steve and J.R. will have a sip of Crown Royal at Mania. That would not be a PPV attraction, but it could get damn entertaining. Some one referred to the Hall of Fame as “my Hall of Fame” as in J.R.’s Hall of Fame. What, are you drunk? Don’t blame me if your favorite hasn’t been inducted. Yes, I occasionally watch TNA. I am a wrestling fan and watch all the product I can when I have the time. Is that so wrong?? I love the OU-Nebraska football rivalry and wish we played every year. I am not a Billy Callahan fan but I have BIG respect for Tazz’s favorite college team the Cornhuskers. I am not a Meat Loaf expert as in the musician but I do love my wife’s meat loaf. Foley and Cornette are probably your guys as it relates to Meat Loaf the talented entertainer. I like to see “portly guys” do well for some odd reason. Edge may well have been the WWE’s MVP in 2006. Edge’s growth into one of the most controversial stars in the WWE is extraordinary. I look for great things for the Ontario native who is a true student of the game and one of my signees back in the day. If I had to bet, I would bet has not had his last “run” with the WWE Title. Sorry about those shipping costs for the Bar-B-Q Sauce. I will check into it but I don’t think there is much we can do about it. I think it costs about the same to order multiple bottles as it does to order a single bottle for some whacky reason. The feedback we are receiving on the sauces has been awesome. Hopefully we will get in stores some day. We hope to open our first restaurant in April here in Norman, Oklahoma just off I-35. The first of many we hope. I like factions and groups in wrestling too. Loved the Horsemen, DX, NWO (early days), Hart Foundation, and others including the Nation of Domination…DAMN! I don’t perceive UK wrestlers as “bad guys” but that’s just me. A UK faction might be a viable option down the road though. I talked to Roddy Piper this morning. Roddy is feeling great and is handling the radiation treatments well. His appetite is good and Hot Rod was in great spirits. He is an amazing guy who is just getting around to watching his own DVD. It was a nice phone call to receive. We old school guys have to stick together as we are wrestling dinosaurs on the endangered species list more often than not. We laughed about that this morning which was good medicine for both of us. Hopefully we will see Roddy on TV when RAW returns to Portland in early 2007 if he feels up to it and I have a feeling Hot Rod will be good to go. Please keep Roddy in your prayers and I will keep you informed of his progress. I like OU and giving the points in the Fiesta Bowl if you are in an office pool or making a friendly wager with a buddy. I had to get one Fiesta Bowl/OU mention in this blog. Be well and thanks for checking out our site. Please tell a friend about it and don’t forget to visit our store. Take care and Boomer Sooner! J.R.

Hi Jr. WWE isant as cool anymore when is more action going to kick in? Different matches ect. Cage, Brawls, 3 ways... getting old. When will Vince start thinking of something new?
JR. Wow. what an honor to talk with you. Ive been a huge fan of your's and WWE since about 1998 I personly look up to you... And I love to meet you one day. You are a hero. A true inspiration to myself...along with Steve (Williams) I remember watching WWE programing for the first time and seeing that black Resistol. And hearing this unique delivery of cometary and being introduced to good ol' JR. The conviction and belief you put into what you has really made an impression on me. You are one of the reasons I watch wrestling.. and then...The Texas rattlesnake...That point is what got me hooked...it was something special...Thank you for everything you have done...for this business...Just wish you were a Horns fan...HOOK em..:) Im quite excited to see how his film does...also Im eager to see what his plans will be for WWE television...Do you happen to know an exact date when Steve will appear on regularly scheduled programing?
Well JR. Just thought that I would ask for your opinion on the Cruiserweight Division. I know that you never going to admit or talk about the division in a bad way but the cruiserweight division has become terrible, not because of the lack of talent (maybe a little more talent wouldnt do any harm though) but because of the way in which the matches are being booked. The cruiserweight division is supposed to be high flying and death defying. We are supposed to see moves that very few heavyweights can do. Yet, I cant remember the last time that I saw a fast paced cruiserweight style match (possibly the last time Rey Mysterio held the belt). The cruiserweight division was bulit so we could see fast paced, international style of wrestling. Yet, we get Helms (nothing wrong with Helms) holding the belt for nearly a year now due to lack of credible challengers that are being built for him. WWE do have alot of talented cruiserweights including Paul London, Rey Mysterio (may be a challenger when he returns), Chavo (seemingly not involved in the division anymore), Brian Kendrick, Scotty 2 Hotty (needs some sort of new gimmick so he can gain some much needed credibility), Jamie Noble (if memory serves me correctly, the last time I saw him he was getting his a** handed to him by Bobby lashley), Super Crazy (for some unknown reason, he was moved to Raw. Not like he has added much there as we barely get to see him show his true potential in the IC division)and im sure that there are many others on developmental deals. You see, my opinion on the division is that you dont need gimmicks (possibly except for Helm's current gimmick as it can get him further than the cruiserweight division) to make it successful (let the mid carders and Main eventers do that). Just fast paced, exciting wrestling, just like we used to see in WCW and ,at times, in WWE from 97 to the end of 98. Im not asking for you to bash the division or give your opinion on what the wwe's cruiserweight division is like, I just want to know what you believe a cruiserweight division should consist of.
Hello JR, I have been pretty blessed in the way of meeting wrestlers and talent over the years that have become personal friends, Just to drop a few names, Paul Bearer and Barry Horowitz are great friends, I've also met, Owen and Bret Hart, Undertaker and several others. This past week I met Jerry The King Lawler at a Monster Truck show in Nashville and he was very cool and funny. He actually asked for my phone number because I play guitar with one of his favorite bands of all time. OK enough name dropping, what I'm getting at is I hope to one day meet you JR. Next time RAW comes to Nashville I'll be looking for a way to say hello. Love this website. Thanks and all the best in 2oo7!
Hey JR Love the commentary man, love to hear the opinions you give on matters that are non-kayfabe from a point of view from a legend like yourself who is art of the inner-workings of the WWE I juts have one slash two questions. Do you believe that any indie workers that are currently working small promotions or are in TNA could work in the WWE. And which wrestlers and characters from these indy promotions would you like to see wrestler/or work on the main stage of the WWE Cheers
Hi JR, With Wrestlemania 23 around the corner I look to wonder, as a WWE fan since the 1980's whether it's worth watching and paying the ever increasing PPV fee through Sky Digital in the UK? I just feel the last few year have been a huge let down in terms of total entertainment and excitment with quite a number of weak matches across both the Raw and Smackdown roster. The matches have just not been exciting enough. I really do feel that the much talked about - will it won't it "Hogan v Austin" has to be a must and Vince McMahon pull out all the stops to get this agreed - (Hogan v Show is a turn off as it is unfair to compare this to Wrestlemania 3 and to be fair no-one compares to Andre the Giant - Show would be a cheap stunt!!) If it's a matter that both Austin and Hogan don't want to lose, maybe a draw (both men are out after the count or a disqualification or even something similar to Wrestlemaina 13, where Austin never tapped out against Hart) could be the end result and make both fighters happy. I think the best World Heavyweight Champ. fight from Smackdown would be "Batista v Undertaker". I also think the Undertaker should win and lead Smackdown through to Summerslam 2007 as World Champion - I cannot believe the 2006 match-ups a wrestler and icon like the Undertaker had (The Great Khali, Big Show - Punjabi Prison???) - it was embarrassing and didn't really show how good and exciting fighter, a legend he can be......I love WWE and am a loyal fan over and above anything else out there...but TNA is looking decent competition now with good fights, decent storylines and with the arrival of Kurt Angle - his promos with Samoa Joe have been superb. Their pay-per-views in recent times have been enjoyable and very watchable - Bring back the "Raw is War" period....bring back the "Attitude era" of late 1990's to 2001 - the peak of WWE in recent years....JR, can you help???? Can you speak Vince McMahon or to Austin and get him to fight at Wrestlemania 23???? Thanks - take care and have a great 2007!
JR we both know that RVD is going to TNA and he should the way vince treats him is disgusting the way that match ended in a no contest was not on vince dousnt know real talent when he has it and im sure u feel the same way just because he got arrested for smoking pot dousnt mean he desearves be treated like crap
Hey J.R, Liked RAW this week, but I was expecting an appearance by The Rock, as it was Miami, Florida and during the holidays. What are your thoughts on this, and do you expect to see The Great One, make a WWE appearance in 2007? Also, speaking about great ones, what about Y2J? Also, a few months ago, I read your comments about Smackdown commentaters JBL and Michael Cole being at their best when they're at each others throats, in my opinion the same is true of you and King, and you guys are much better at it. Finally, will you be calling the Royal Rumble match this year? Thanks Jim, and Boomer Sooner!!!!
Hello JR, I was just wondering if you still keep in contact with Bob Caudle. In my opinion, the two of you were the best commentating team in wrestling. No offense to the King of course. Take care and here is to a healthy 2007 for you.
jr, i am a long time fan of yours and love your style. i have a thought, however, on the many heavyweight titles in the wwe. why not create brand champions, as you have in ecw and make a raw and smackdown champion. then rotate promotions for the world title, having one world champ? the storyline possibilities would be endless. for instance, the champion of champions match would've been a great way to establish the world champ. the brand whose champ wins the world title could replace him with a tournament, a top 2 contenders match, or some kind of controversial awarding of the title. then a draw or a 3 way match could determine the order in which each brand takes its turn at the world champ.
I was wondering if the British Bulldogs will ever be inducted into the Hall? Just based on their ringwork and how well they worked together as a team I would say they should even though they as a team was only the WWE for for less than 5 years BUT WOW where they a tag team. I own a copy of Mr Billington's Autobio Pure Dynamite and I enjoyed it. So with that I could understand why they wouldn't be inducted. I hope they do along with Jim "the Anvil".
HAPPY BIRTHDAY J.R! I like the fact you watch TNA and dont ignore it like some others in wwe seem to do. Whats happening to Coach after the press conferance incedent?
HEY,J.R I WAS JUST WONDERING WHEN WAS THE WWE GONNA GET EDDIE GUERRERO’S PAGE UP AND RUNNING IT’S BEEN WAT ALMOST 2 YEARS SINE THE PASSING OF THE LATE GREAT??? ALSO WHY DIDN'T RAW OR SMACKDOWN ACKNOWLEDGE HIS DEATH THIS YEAR???
Mr. Ross, What did you really think of the Boise State/OU game? Also, will we ever see "Macho Man" Randy Savage in the WWE Hall of Fame?
What are your thoughts on Christian Cage and did you personally think that he could have been a main-event regular & WWE Champion had he stayed in WWE?
simple solution fire john cena and BRING BACK LESNAR
Mr. Ross, I live in the Netherlands and I'm a big wwe-fan.My favorite wrestler is Undertaker. I'm currently 16 years old and training very hard to maybe one day become a wrestler after I've graduated from school. I'm 191 cm and 78 kg, and I think for a 16 year old thats very promising. The problem is that we have few or no wretsling schools in Holland. Can you please give me some tips or advice on what I could do in the future to pursue my dream?
I would like to say that I enjoy reading your blog. I think that bringing back managers would be good for some wrestlers popularity. Managers like Bobby "the brain" heenan, Mr. Fuji, or the General Akbar. These guys represented serveral wrestlers often making up for poor mic skills. I like Estrada. I think the fans are really into to him also. When will the tag team division improve. I think if better story lines written the intersted will pick up. The talent is definitely there. Edge and Orton haven't defended thet titles since they won them. Murdock and Cade are a good team and the are suffering for a lack of creativity from writers. Sheldon Benjamin is a great wrestler but his character needs an overhall. Is it me or is Triple H much better as a heel. I loved the way he controlled the crowd. A guy you loved to hate because he was just that damn good. He had guys coming from everywhere for his title: Steiner,Nash,Booker T,Big Show, Micheals. Different feuds are better than just one guy just holding the title(Cena). I hope Umaga gets to hold the belt. IS WWe that short on main eventers. Chris Masters will be much more exciting once he drops the master lock gimick all together. The promos introducing him were great. He comes in and beats a guy with a full neslon. This guys who is built like a tank.COme on! Lets be more creative.DX needs to add members or drop the hold played out gimick all together. They are monopolizing RAW. The ratings would go through the roof if WWE can come to terms with Brock Lesnar. Truly an unstoppeable force. Another Main Eventer is needed on Smackdown. I am tired of seeing Batista beat up Finlay. King Booker Should have had a longer run. Cryme Tyme needs competition. I hope something changes this year for the tag team division. I have seen teams with potential fall through the cracks like. La Resistance,Murdock and Cade, Regal and Storm,Masters and Carlito. Eric Bishoff is what what RAW needs in a GM. Controversy does create cash. The Rock can still sell out any arena. May be solution is to merge both Rosters unify the titles and have more competition. I am a true wrestling fan. THe shows are getting so predictiable now until is getting boring to watch. I think Creativity is what will make or break the shows.
My idea for a new dx angle will be the brothers of destruction reform and cause chaos on dx where it ends in a double buried alive match which has never been done before. It will be excellent to watch as both teams invades raw and smackdown leading to one team demise over a few months.
Will we see a traditional WWE Title Belt anytime soon? The spinner belt is so incredibly tacky and it diminished the value of Edge and RVD's title runs because it looked as if they just carrying John Cena's belt around for him. This made it all too obvious that Cena would regain it back rather quickly.
J.R., If I go to one of the developmental organizations on my own dime, wheter it be Deep South or Ohio Valley, will it be possible to still get offered a developmental contract? Would I be training with the developmental talent if I am not under developmental contract?
Jim Ross - "Is the best commentater of all time." Hey Good Buddy Jim Ross, Do you think Ultimate Warrior will ever be able to return to the WWE? Also, What about Randy Savage? How about a Wrestlemania match: Ultimate Maniacs vs. Rated-RKO vs. DX (Tag Team Championship)
I wish & hope someday that Vince McMahon would work things out with Jim Warrior/Ultimate Warrior before he gets too old, so I can see my one & only #1 WWF/E wrestler of all time return to the WWE & on Monday Night Raw. (Interview with Ultimate Warrior - Video Shoot) http://reditudesite.tripod.com/id5.html (Scroll To Video) BRING BACK ULTIMATE WARRIOR!!! "I WILL ALWAYS BELIEVE IN THE ULTIMATE WARRIOR!" Danny
Hey JR, Why are Edge & Orton still referred to as TEAM Rated RKO? I thought the moniker only applied to the Survivor Series fiveman. I wouldn't mention it, but it seems that King has now also caught the bug. Other than that, keep up the good work, Curtis
Hi J.R. I am a long time fan. All the way back to the Mid-South days. So I have been with you awhile. My comment is on the brand extension. I guess I don't understand why they keep running with it. Most fans I have spoke to would prefer the return to the full roster for both shows. Plus, with such a lack of depth on both shows, why not merge them? Anyway, just my opinion. Hope you are well and can forgive me for being a Longhorn fan. Plus the fact I was cheering Boise the other night! All in good fun. Regardless of the winner, wasn't that game why we watch? Good luck in the new year and God bless.
Hey JR. Just wondering what think when you first saw Petey Williams Canadian Destroyer?
JR YOU ARE THE MAN I LOVE THIS SITE HELL I LOVE YOU IN A I WILL MOST LIKELY NEVER MEET YOU KINDA WAY BUT I RESPECT THE HELL OUT OF YOU I MISS BRET IM A HUGE WRESTLING FAN FROM LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY YE HA LOL I LOVE TALKING WRESTLING I DRIVE MY WIFE A LIL CRAZY SOMETIMES HERES SOME THINGS I WISH WOULD HAPPEN IN WRESTLING IF YOU GET SOME TIME PLEASE RESPOND ALSO THIS IS A BIT OF A STRECTH BUT IF YOU CAN WILL YOU SEND ME A JR PIC AUTOGRAPHED LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY 3241 TAYLOR BLVD IT WOULD BE A CHERISHED ITEM I NAMED MY KID AFTER BRET HART LOL I LOVE WRESTLING WELL HERE IT GOES STING WWE PETEY WILLIAMS FOR BRET AND SHAWN TO COME OUT AND HAVE SOME POSITIVE DIALOGUE FOR ROCK AND AUSTIN TO BE FULL TIMERS FOR BOB BACKLUND TO RETURN AS A MANAGER ARE WRESTLER FOR JERRY LAWLER TO WIN THE WWE TITLE MAYBE BROCK LESNER FOR CARLITO TO BECOME WHAT HE SEEMS TO BE THE FUTURE OF WWE THAT WOULD BE COOL I LOVE THAT GUY FOR LAWLER TO SMACK CHRIS MASTERS FOR PIPER TO GET WELL LOVE THE HOT ROD FOR FLAIR TO BE SAFE WOOO FOR VKM TO GET REAL AND SUCK IT LOL WHERES MOLLY HOLLY SHE WAS GREAT MORE DOUBLE A MORE DUSTY PUT JAKE THE SNAKE WITH THE BOOGIE MAN SO HIS PROMO IS MORE THAN IM THE BOOGIE MAN AND IM COMING TO GETCHA LOL ALL HAIL KING BOOKER SORRY IF THIS IS A LIL JUMBLED WELL JR IF YOU CAN SEND THE PIC THAT WOULD BE GREAT IF NOT ITS OK LOL YOU ARE THE MAN JR HALL OF FAME NO DOUBTS
hey J.R., I hate to bring up the subject of TNA again (it seems like you get at least 1 TNA question every week), but do you feel WWE's cruiserweight division should be more like TNA's X-division? Also, do you agree that most of this past year Smackdown has been starting to get stale? Thanks if you can reply to this ^_^ ~Johnny Twilight
I have a few comments to make about comments made by J.R. if you know anything about wrestling you would put Jeff Jarrett in the Hall of Fame one of the greatest workers ever & by the way a former 3 time WCW champion, 6 time intercontinental champion, european champ, 3 time U.S. champ,at least 3 time wwe tag team champ, 2 time WWA world champ & 6 time NWA World Heavyweight Champ if that doesn't get him in then the wwe holds to many personaly grudges. Lex Luger also should be in the Hall of Fame if not for anything else just because he is one of the greatest gimmicks of all time, I will admit that he was not the greastest wrestlers but neither was Hulk Hogan. Also when it comes to DVD's you guys should do a WCW DVD telling the store of it without a bunch of lies about the company give credit were credit is due. Also one other thing I don't care how great a wrestler is if you are a cruiserweight you can't be HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION meaning that Rey Mysterio jr. should not be champ he is great but not a heavyweight. Also tell who ever to quit disgracing the WWE Title in 2 ways one by letting it be a stupid spinner & letting people like John Cena & Edge hold it when people like Carlito are lucky to ever get a shot at the title let alone hold it. Last but not least greastest idea in wrestling was the NWO the whole 3 years it went on & so quit trying to forget the past by rarely giving WCW any credit for anything. P.S. Macho Man Randy Savage should be in the hall of fame this year.
Hey JR I'm a huge fan, I just have a quick question for you which is whatever happened to the annual WWE Draft I was a huge fan of it because it added some variety on both Raw and Smackdown. We were also able to see some dream matches. Do you ever think will get to see the draft again.
Will WWE ever honor Kurt Angle with a dvd (a true depiction of his career and best matches - not "The Self-Destruction of Kurt Angle !) ?
As for someone who said TNA is copying WWE its not Rick Roode its Robert Roode get your facts right! as for the hall of fame Lex Luger wouldn't be in the hall of fame because most people in WWE dont like him when he has more talent at his age now then possibly the worst WWE roster ive ever seen and can you tell Vince Mcnugget to PLEASE give Brock Lesnar permission to wrestle in TNA because im bored of seeing stiffs like John Cena, Batista and Bobby Lashley in the ring of he doesn't let him join TNA atleast bring him back i mean WWE ain't entertainment anymore as for DX i didn't like them when they was around the first time! Edge Vs AJ Styles, CM Punk Vs Kurt Angle and Abyss Vs Undertaker in a TNA ring now that would be as Carlito would say Cool!
Hey J.R, First of all Happy New Year to yourself and the Family. Secondly, I was recently reflecting on some old videos when I found one when you were a heel introducing Fake Diesel, who turned out to be Kane, and Fake Razor Ramon. What was your opinion of this at the time? Did you want to do it? Looking back what do you think of the incident? Finally, I don't want to sound like a smartass know it all fan but will we ever see Jerry Lawler turn back into the old Colour Commentator of 1997/1998? He still loves puppys but seems to have turned in to more of a Play-by-Play guy over the past few years. Many Thanks for the years of entertainment and any response to this message. James
I think it would be interesting to see an Edge vs. Jeff Hardy TLC Match for the WWE Title maybe at a Wrestlemania. Edge has made it clear that he made a living beating the Hardys, especially in those classic TLC matches. Do you think Jeff Hardy has made it to main event status yet? And do you think we will see a Wrestlemania in North Carolina (Tarheelia)someday soon? Thanks J.R.!
Hey JR. First off gathering your resume would be a HUGE tragity. Along side Gorilla Monsoon/Bobby Heenan, The King and you are the greatest comentators the wrestling business will ever see! Props to WWE on bringing back The Worlds Greatest Tag Team! Huge mistake having K-Fed pin the WWE CHAMPION!!!! Would Mike Tyson have pinned Austin in '98?? I think not! Will a Live PPV event ever come to Milwaukee, Wisconsin??I love the WWE and will til the day i die. Someday I hope to meet you, maybe when my dream is reached. PUSH THE BOOGEYMAN! Will The Game ever be the Serribral Assassin again? Your the man JR!!
JR! Wow, it's cool that I'm able to leave a message for a man who deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. I'm not kissing up, but I used to be a long time fan. I haven't watched WWE in 3 years, I don't like what the product has become, and instead of moan about it, I choose not to watch. I do enjoy the classic DVD sets though so I have RVD, Bret, Ric, Hulk's new Anthology, a bunch of ECW, Jake's and even *sudder* McMahon. I'm more of a MMA fan to be honest. Which leads to me question. I heard about this new Vladimir Kozlov character (Oleg Prudius, sp?) and how he's supposed to be a MMA Fighter and a Master of the sport of Sambo. I understand he's supposed to be a somewhat naive and goofy character a la Kurt Angle in 2000. I was wondering, because I do know that Vinny Mac will have characters that make him laugh, is this Kozlov persona meant to mock Angle and especially UFC? I remember last year how WWE tried to get at UFC by trying to sign Mike Goldberg. I also heard reports of how WWE sees UFC as competition. Personally, I can't compare MMA and pro wrestling. MMA is a real sport, Pro Wrestling now is Sports Enetrtainment. MMA fighters try to knock each other out or get a submission and it's real. Pro Wrestling is predetermined and in all fairness, I admit that pro wrestlers have to take bumps and endure pain that is on a whole other level, but the fact remains that they are still working together. To me, I don't see how a wrestling company could consider MMA to be a rival, as usually fans of one are not fans of the other. Anyway, if you ould answer my question about Kozlov being designed to knock UFC, MMA and Kurt, I'd appreciate it. Thanks and God Bless, Walt
Hey JR. I just visited your website for the first time this morning. I love it. I wanted to read your feedback and ended up surfing the entire site. I like your comments regarding, not knowing the story line before it airs for your authenticity as a commentator. It adds so much. You guys definetly add significance the show when it's televised. You come off as a huge fan, although when excited, you sound like your choking. Piñata, Piñata! My question is how come the WWE doesn't take feedback, regarding storylines, from fans into consideration? I know you guys have "Experts" taking care of that, but wouldn't you think a loyal fan for 22 years could have some feedback and or input without getting into the whole legal thing? Much Love JR, take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Hey J.r I would just like to tell you I like how you are in your blogs. You seem like your very direct. I like reading your blogs.
Hey JR HOW ARE YOU ? Just want to know too what ever happin to Scott Hall will he ever Westle again? Also i did not know Brett Hart and Wife was not together any more, what happin?
Hello J.R, Lately, I've been reading a lot of wrestling articles posted online by wrestling "fans." What bothers me about these articles is when they state, "wrestling isn't the same anymore," or "John Cena can't wrestle and should not be WWE champion." All of these "fans" should take a long look at what is wrong with wrestling. I had a conversation with my bestfriend the other day. I told him him that the reason why wrestling is not the same anymore is because we have so-called wrestling "fans" posting spoils and nonsense about who should be WWE champion. To me wrestling IS the best thing that has ever happened. However, I do not want to go online and read spoils or read about some no talent "story writer" cry about what they would do if they were apart of the creative team. All I want to do is go online, read about anything that I might have missed, any updates as to where the next venue will be and who has been signed. Everyone has their own opinion this matter. But, I would like to hear the opinion of someone who is a professional in wrestling, as yourself. P.S I think that you are the best commentator today!
J.R., I was shocked that you didn't realize that David Heath (Gangrel) has been putting in appearances in Deep South Wrestling! But I guess you CAN'T know EVERYTHING... Keep up the GREAT work!
Hey JR, I was hoping you could give me some information on Scott Hall. What he was like backstage, what was he like to work with, and what will come of his recent WWE Legends deal signing. Also, can you tell me why Alex Shelley was not signed to a WWE deal after he faces Somin Dean on International Heat? Thanks. Your fan, Adam
Hi Jim,greetings from Ireland and happy new year I would just like to say its refreshing to hear you talk about watching TNA, you always come across as a wrestling fan first and foremost and make no apologies for it and thats damn commendable given your position. I think both promotions could learn a lot from each other. Best of luck in 2007, counting down the days to Stone Colds return
J.R. may i sugest that you learn Umaga's actual weight and stick with it when relating to his size. I don't know about anyone else but to me when you discribe on how large he is or how much he weighs he seems to get bigger every week. If you keep it up he will weigh more than Yokozuna by Wrestlemania. "1,2,3! Umaga wins in his first Wrestlemania. What a win for the 756lb man from Samoa!"
Hey J.R. sorry about OU but u have to admit that was one of the greatest games ever, even better than last years Rose Bowl.I have 2 questions Do you think CM PUNK has a main event future in the WWE? and Do you think Vince regrets buying WCW?
JR...so, about the Fiesta Bowl...you gotta give it up for our boys here in Boise! BSU took the game to your boys and brought home the championship! Maybe next year :) Im curious as to what you think of the whole Kevin Federline story...I mean honestly...does WWE think that any of us really want to watch Cena and this poor excuse for an entertainer? Since I work nights and tape RAW, all I can say is thank God for fast forward. Unfortunately, I seem to be using that button alot recently when watching WWE. However, I seem to not use it as much watching TNA...go figure.
Hey JR, I gotta say thank you for being so open with the fans like this. I really enjoy reading the blog every week. I was watching some old WCW tapes earlier this week, and saw the infamous segment where Fred Ottman, aka Typhoon, made his WCW debut as the Shoackmaster. He was supposed to break through a wall, but accidnetally triped and fell flat on his face while doing so. A few seconds later you could here Jesse Ventura laughing and making a joke about it on the air. I was wondering if you've ever seen anything so funny happen that it made you break character and just start laughing?
J.R. I was wondering if you know what ever happened to Scott Norton? I used to love to watch him, his strength was unmatched. Also, has the WWE considered bringing back some old group factions such as the horsemen. DX is working wonderfully and I thought they might try others as well. I know Arn Anderson cant wrestle anymore, but just to see him ringside, possibly as a manager, is exciting. He still sets off the best spinebuster I have ever seen. Thanks for being the best color commentator there ever was and for showing such excitment everytime you pick up a mic.
Hey J.R., I notice you mention TNA on here allot, you even admitted watching it before. Aren't you afraid Vince will read this and "release" you for like the 8th time?
I say screw ECW. If you need a steel chair or barbed wire or a 'singapore cane' to win a match, you're not a wrestler! Taz's 'Tazmission' was nothing more than an illegal choke hold, and the Sandman is the biggest idiot on TV. It is a shame to see a real wrestler like Bobby Lashley wasted on a bull cookie show like ECW. Sorry, I just miss Sting, the four Horsemen, and WCW before the corporate morons screwed it up. I like WRESTLING. You know , actual holds, counters, and manuvers. And BTW, Ric Flair was right on about Mick Foley being nothing more than a glorified stunt man. Stick to writing kids books, Mick. That's more your speed. We both lost it on New Years day. My beloved Wolverines just can't seem to win a Rose Bowl! BBQ on JR, and Godspeed!
