It has taken me almost two days to warm up after our quick trip to Omaha and then on to Sioux City, Iowa this week for Raw. The King and I both flew into Omaha on Monday morning and then made the 90 mile or so drive up to Sioux City for the broadcast. The drive straight up I-29 was through the Iowa country side and reminded me of my days as a young man growing up on our family farm in eastern Oklahoma. But brother was it frigid! I admire the folks who live in cold weather areas and rarely complain about the weather. I got back to Norman and it was 70 degrees and I felt like jumping into our pool. But, I didn’t have the courage to join the “polar bear club.” Severe shrinkage my friends isn’t flattering for a man of my stature! Raw delivered a 4.1 rating but had the most total viewers it has had since June of 2005. Raw had 5.8 million viewers Monday night in the United States. Raw was the #1 TV program Monday night among Men 12-17 years of age in the USA. The star-studded opening segment, with a wide array of stars not normally seen on Raw, really made the beginning of the show feel big time. I hope between now and Wrestlemania we continue to see Smackdown and ECW Superstars on Monday night as we seriously begin to count the days until ‘Mania 23. The Ric Flair promo was one of the brighter spots on Raw from my perspective. “Naitch” still has an unbridled passion for the business and even though he will soon be celebrating birthday #58 (I think) Ric can still deliver better than most men half his age. Raw in the states this week airs on Thursday night at 8/7 central time on the USA Network due to the annual Dog Show on USA. Should be an interesting show, especially with the “Battle of the Billionaires” featuring Mr. McMahon and The Donald, as in Trump. No Rosie O’Donnell though. Looking forward to heading to Portland and the Rose Garden, and hopefully seeing Rowdy Roddy Piper. Lots of Wrestlemania related questions and feedback from many of you this week. Some have asked how many people are expected to attend the event this year at Ford Field and I am estimating that it will be between 60-70,000. It won’t be 93,000 as it was 20 years ago because Ford Field isn’t as big as the Silverdome, from what I understand. Will The Fink do some ring announcing? I sure hope so. It wouldn’t be Wrestlemania without Howard Finkle. I am guessing that there will be a Money in the Bank Match but that is purely my assumption. I do like the concept and it seems the fans do as well. We will know sooner than later. Some have asked if Mick Foley would be at Wrestlemania 23 and I can’t confirm such, but it certainly would not surprise me. It might be more likely that Foley will be at ‘Mania more than Hulk will, but who knows?? Perhaps they will both be there and wrestle each other. I would say that would be an entertaining piece of business if they did. Mick’s new book, “The Hardcore Diaries” will be out next month, as I hear it, and I am really looking forward to reading it. I have read and enjoyed all of Mick’s books. I hear he has a chapter or excerpt in the book about what he thought of the “Dr. Heinie” skit satirizing my colon surgery in 2005. Apparently Mick has some pretty strong comments about that Raw TV segment, that I barely remember, thank goodness….and no, I did not record it either. Fans often ask about Wrestlemania for their cities such as Philly, a great city, and D.C., how can ‘Mania not be hosted in our nation’s capitol, and the usual inquiries from the UK which is one of the WWE most valued territories. I am sure if we are all around long enough that Wrestlemania will make a much anticipated stop in each of the aforementioned markets. Patience my friends, patience. Regarding Wrestlemania 24 being in Orlando, no one from the WWE has told me such, but I have heard plenty of rumblings from fans who live in the Orlando area. If this site or another has been confirmed, one would assume it will be announced at this year’s Wrestlemania. HBK left the WWE for almost 4 years due to a bad back and “burn out.” The sabbatical was probably the best thing for Shawn’s physical and mental health as he has been absolutely awesome since returning to the WWE. “Burn out” is not that rare in our business or others with high stress levels. I can certainly relate to it. Nonetheless, don’t bet against HBK stealing the show at Wrestlemania 23. Snitsky’s eyebrows??-I assume he shaved them or lost a bet. I know I don’t have them, I swear. The former University of Missouri offensive lineman looked Kane-like Tuesday night on ECW. And yes, I do watch ECW every Tuesday night on Sci-Fi and, no, I don’t particularly care if some nay sayers believe that or not. You’re always welcome to drop by on any Tuesday night and join me. News flash: ECW is being re-designed and it will most likely never resemble the original ECW ever again. I am sorry to be the bearer of this particular piece of bad news but let’s see where it goes over the next year before some long time fans contemplate watching the NHL….only kidding about the NHL. The WWE has acquired both Stampede Wrestling and Smoky Mountain Wrestling and both will be featured on WWE 24/7 in the future. I really enjoy WWE 24/7 and I understand more Legends Roundtable segments will be taped within the next couple of weeks or so. I am looking forward to being a part of them. Paul in Fargo, you have great courage and convictions. My black hat is off to you my friend for persevering and staying positive in the face of great challenges with your health. I hope you always remain positive and refuse to put limits on yourself or what you can accomplish. I am sure that HHH would be as proud of you as am I. Will the XFL ever return? Will J.R. ever become a Texas Longhorn fan? Absolutely not, in all due respect to UT fans everywhere including The American Dream Dusty Rhodes and the late Dick Murdoch. The XFL needed that second year to really see how the league would evolve, but I will say two things that I believe about the league. OK maybe 3 things. I had a blast broadcasting the XFL, the level of football was not where it should have been, but it also did not have a pre-season, and the NFL wanted the XFL to go away instead of allowing the XFL to be a “feeder program”. Where are: Todd Pettingale-Doing radio on WPLJ in MYC last I heard. Stan Lane-living in the Carolinas, Greensboro I think, working for the Speed Network I am told. Mike McGuirk-living in eastern Oklahoma selling real estate, but others may have more recent info. Terry Taylor- works in an administration role for TNA. By the way, I always liked Terry, but I wasn’t a big fan of the “Red Rooster” persona. That goes to prove how little I know about this business. Terry was a very accomplished wrestler who had a great “run” in Mid-South Wrestling back in the day. D’Lo Brown-still wrestling independents and in Japan and just became an owner of an Arena League Football team. You do know he has an accounting degree from the University of Maine, right? Nice guy too. Fans have asked about WWE Hall of Famer Antonino Rocca, who was an under sized phenom who set Madison Square Garden on fire in the 50s and 60s. Not literally on fire but “Argentina” Rocca put butts in seats with his high flying style which basically amounted to drop kicks and head scissors. Rocca was a huge star who captivated audiences much akin to what Rey Mysterio has done in recent years. There is a fair amount of info on Rocca on the internet if you want to do a “search.” Rocca made a boat load of cash during his career, but like so many athletes and entertainers did not save it from what I am told. Rocca had a unique style and “it” aka charisma. “It” can’t be taught. Remember that nugget of info “It” cannot be taught. Speaking of the Hall of Fame….I still do not know who will be selected, but one can assume we will find out soon. Just like me, I suggest you stay tuned as I am as anxious to find out as anyone. I love the Hall of Fame event for so many reasons. Mainly because I am still a fan and love to see the greats honored. From what I understand, Mean Gene Okerlund will be back as the emcee of the event after being inducted into the Hall of Fame last year in Chicago. Gene and I will most likely have a social ****tail while in Detroit. Are the Undertaker and Kane retiring? Not anytime soon….thank goodness. Was Greg Valentine ever the WWE champion if only for one night? I never heard of that one. It could have happened but I am not aware of it during the Backlund era. Does anyone have any info on this one? Lots of Randy Savage feedback. I still know no more about Savage being inducted into the Hall of Fame than I knew last week. Some one inferred that I knew “all the dirt” on why Savage is “blackballed” and that I am “lying” to cover it up. For that person that we will simply call Oliver Stone, I don’t know why there are issues regarding Savage and the WWE and if I did, depending on what it was, I most likely wouldn’t discuss it. This little website isn’t trying to be the “National Enquirer.” If you want unfounded dirt, then there are plenty of sites you can visit to get your message board/gossip fix. Nice to hear from a Penn State fan. I like visiting Happy Valley when the WWE is there once a year or so and would love for OU to have a home and home with the Nittany Lions. Towsend State Football Hall of Famer, former Tough Enough guru, and WWE TV producer John “Big” Gaburick is a HUGE Penn State fan as is his dad who graduated from there. Joe Pa is a good friend of former OU coach Barry Switzer who is a good friend of mine and who can tell a mean Joe Paterno story. The Big Green Egg is one of the greatest innovations in smoking meats to come along in years! That is no joke. I don’t joke when it comes to Bar-B-Q or smoking meats. Comedy in wrestling? It has its place when it is organic and natural and not forced. Not all performers can deliver comedy as we have seen over the years. Some talents were funny who weren’t trying to be which was some of the funniest stuff ever. Speaking of comedy, did I ever have any thing to do with the former G-TV segments on Raw? Absolutely not. Why haven’t we seen Torrie Wilson’s stinkface? I beg your pardon? Maybe because she hasn’t been wrestling much. Diva wrestling is a unique animal. I will say this; Mickie James and Melina got it on Monday Night and had one helluva match. I think by and large the divas in the WWE are on TV to appeal to males 12-17 and 18-34. That’s not to say us older gentlemen don’t enjoy observing the lovely ladies too. I think the Divas of today are prominent because of their personalities and looks and not necessarily because they would have fit in “Lipstick and Dynamite,” a film I loved by the way. Mark Henry- is healing from his last surgery and I fully expect him to return to the ring sometime in 2007. The World’s Strongest Man has been snakebit and is due for a break. How would I evaluate JBL’s Title Reign? Successful and probably pleasantly surprising. John over achieved by working really hard and by being physical, and along the way he became extremely proficient on the mic. JBL could talk ‘em into their seats which is becoming a lost art form. John was one of my hires who out performed what he was projected to do by many insiders. I am proud of John even though he is a Longhorn at heart. My favorite speciality matches. Probably Hell in a Cell and War Games. Also, back in the day, a nasty Texas Death Match that went multiple falls could be pretty compelling stuff, too. I absolutely don’t regret hiring any one I hired when I was in charge of talent for the WWE. Yes, to address a fan, I hired Kurrgan and Test and I would definitely do it all over again. Kurrgan was a role player and Test is still looking to “break thru.” Will Test succeed? That is largely up to Test and him getting a few breaks along the way. Do I miss managing the talent roster in the WWE? No. My time came and went. I made my contributions, both good and bad. I love being in Oklahoma, seeing my daughters and granddaughters, watching OU Football, and opening a new business venture at the tender age of 55. I certainly am willing to help the company that pays me well in any way I can, but I would prefer to maintain my present schedule of events and activities as traveling 51 weeks a year isn’t as glamorous as it sounds. A fan made a great point when he pointed out that I said Kenny Dykstra was best 20 year old I could ever remember seeing in the ring and made the point that I left out Owen Hart. I never saw Owen in person when he was 20 but I have seen tapes. Owen was amazing at 20. Point well made. The only way Smackdown will go live every week is to change the entire touring schedule for the WWE and that is very unlikely to happen. Highly unlikely. Let’s not wear this one out folks. It is a taped show and is going to stay a taped show TFN. Thanks to the reader in India for clarifying The Great Khali’s name. I have a difficult enough time with English much less understanding another language so thanks for the help. I honestly thought the Cena-Umaga match at the Royal Rumble was outstanding. I never thought it wouldn’t be but it did exceed even my optimistic projections. Lots of hard work and physicality in that one. I am big on work ethic because without it, one cannot succeed in any field and John Cena and Umaga, if that is his real name, busted their backsides at the Rumble. Why is Jesse Ventura’s voice used on some WWE projects and not on others? Ask the lawyers or barristers, to be internationally friendly. It’s all about contractual issues I won’t even attempt to tell you I know the details thereof. Case closed. If you are not subscribing to the WWE magazine you are seriously missing out. I LOVE IT! I really do. It is highly entertaining and creative. For the record, I don’t get a financial cut for new subscribers and I am merely giving you my opinion. You asked, I answered. Debra in Georgia- I appreciate you checking out our site but I can’t score you any Steve Austin gear as we are not set up to sell Steve’s merchandise or distribute his personal affects. I asked him recently for his ATM number and he told me “Hell, no!” Just kidding about the ATM thing. I wish I could help you but I went to the big guy on it and no can do. Finally, to RVD420 (yes, I get it) thanks for your kind remarks suggesting that Mr. McMahon reward my hard work with a vacation. I have been on a few of those Mr. McMahon imposed “vacations” and, trust me, they weren’t that much fun. Hell, after the last one I lost 13 inches of intestines! So RVD420, I will pass on the vacation concept unless it is my idea or Mrs. J.R.’s. Now back to your “fat sack” and don’t drink the bong water. There you have it ladies and gentlemen, another edition of Ol’ J.R.’s Blog. I hope you enjoyed it and I hope you keep shopping in our store. All FOUR of our sauces are selling great! If you haven’t gotten a Slobber-Knocker cap, why not? Be the first on your block as they say on TV. Please tell a friend about us and help us grow. Thanks a million! J.R.

Wassup good ol J.R. i have a couple of questions. One is when will the wwe return to las vegas since i live there? Why did wwe change the name Raw is War to just Raw? and one more do you ever think we'll see the rock, the great one, the people's champ ever return to the ring? Thanks
hey jr one more question.(i asked about test)i had a heart transplant july4-99 in charleston sc,(by the way were you ever here in myrtle beach with nwa/wcw house shows?)and was wondering if wwe would ever sponser a sign up drive.example would be free limited poster or something at the events.(i know the bears personally would co-sign and i realize it can't happen in wwe obviously) following walter payton's tragic death.i know from watching the hall of fame ceremonies that mean gene and the superstar have had their own bouts with kidney transplants.just wondering and i promise next check the sauce will be bought.thanks jonathan clifton mb,sc
hey jr , what are your thoughts on kurt angle & his comments on calling HHH a slimeball on a radio show recently , he said he would never put him over because HHH knew he would surpass him and angle made the most $$$ for WWE and he was glad to be in TNA to be back to wrestling and away from the circus that is WWE . ps keep up the good work
JR, the "old ECW" isn't what the fans want. What we want is something different, that would be the reason we all watched the old ECW anyway. It was different. The story lines we see on ECW are very weak. And they are no different than what we see on RAW & Smackdown. Story lines in the WWE have been pretty cookie cutter for a while now. Would it hurt for people to be less "Soap opera" like and more real? Or how about a little thinking outside the box?
DONT KNOW IF U ANSWERED THIS BUT WHY DID I SEE EARL HEBNER REFEREE IN TNA WHEN I THOUGHT HE WAS THE SENIOR OFFICAL REFEREE IN WWE ????
Hey, J.R. The current ECW product is very disheartening at the moment. Not only is it pretty horrible in quality, but the agents are squashing the only guy who looked to be making himself into a big star (C.M.Punk) on tuesdays. Is there anyone else you feel that the WWE is underutilizing? Also, who, if anyone, do you think could make it big on a national stage from the Ring of Honor promotion?
Jr wsup Tell Mcmahon,if he keeps burying Flair,he's going to lose a lot of old school wrestling fans. I'm a huge Flair fan,and I'm so looking forward to 4-10 when the Ric Flair and 4 horsemen dvd set is released, man I hope it's good. I don't understand the unertaker that charcater is so played out,I mean he dies comes back few months later,I'm tired of it,why not have a wrestler come out as a ghost,or Dracula that's how fake his charcater is,WHENEVER HE IS ON i CAN'T FIND THE REMOTE QUICK ENOUGH! Bring back the Horsemen and have Flair win one last title, the crowd will go NUTS,have AA as the manager,I'd love to see AA and Flair together again,of course Flair stole the show on Raw the other night WOOOOO! Like everyone says even at 58,Flair can still go. Please put AA in the HOF. Pleae make another Dvd tribute to Flair,of more Nwa stuff along with Wcw WWe,feuds with Hogan Savage Funk and J-tex Gary Hart's men, feuds with Sting Luger there is just so much the list is really endless.
I read where you penned one of the forwards to Steve "Dr. Death" Williams' new book. Is it a good read for both fan and possibly wrestler, or is it more of a fan's book giving them a wrestler's eye view on things?
Mr. Ross here's who i think should be in the hall of fame for this year- Tazz -even though WWE made him look like a second class wrestler next to steve austin. LOD they are by far the greatest tag in history. jim crocket for all he has done for wrestling. Kerry von Erich even though wwe made him drop the modern day warrior name in favor of the ultimate warrior the biggest joke in wrestling history i see a warrior match I puke on site. Randy Savage give the guy a break put the guy in the hall of fame he earned it. Shane Douglas WWE again missed the boat on this guy dean douglas what a joke who's idea was that. Shane Douglas in my opinon was ECW WCW missed the boat on him to but then again they missed the boat on everybody that came though there lol. Nick Bockwinkel im not even explaining this one. Mr Perfect curt hennig he was great. there are a few among the many the WWE needs to start giving credit to because if the WWE does not start giving credit it will be there down fall after all WWE has killed more careers than cancer. Tell the chairman i said that will ya JR. You should be in it too and so should gordon solie see what I mean to many great being over looked
Good Ol JR will we ever see the greatest ring announcer Howard Finkel inducted into the HOF? Where would you categorize Undertaker's career top 10 of all time or below that?
Hey J.R. How did you like Sioux City besides it being cold? How come when you were getting out of your rental car at the Tyson Event's Center I yelled your name when I was only 10 feet away from you and you didn't even look up at me?
Hey JR, how does it feel knowing you are the only person who didn’t know about Undertaker and Batista wrestling at WrestleMania? You ripped wrestling web sites for reporting the match in your blog a few weeks ago. You must have pissed your pants and fall out of your chair Monday when Undertaker picked Batista. No one else was surprised.
Hey J.R., Thanks for the info, about everything. What are your thoughts on celebrity wrestlers? I persoally think their good entertainment, only certin ones tought, like Mr.T Lawerence Taylor, Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson and Andy Kaufman were the best and in my opinion should inducted in th WWE Hall of Fame Celebrity Wing, they deserve it more than Pete Rose, who didn’t do anything but get tombstoned by Kane. I think Andy Kaufman was the best wrestler of all time, he just knew how to get the crowd mad, and was the perfect heel. What re your thoughts on Kaufman. Speaking of celeb wsters, what do you think about K-Fed trying to add himself inot the class of celeb wrestlers. As much as I hate the guy, I have to say he made a great heel, and always got the crowd mad, also, when he was facing Cena, that whole delay bit, with him get all that boxing equipment on ws gesinus, it reminded of something that Kaufman would do. Also, from what I hear is that he’s a hard worker in WWE, both backstage on on, I heard he’s been getting advice from other wrestlers, and not putting himslef ahead on everyone else just because he’s a celeb, which is good in this business. Thanks again for the info J.R., take care. Chris
hey just stopped by for the first time and noted an article on the rock from one of the fans....i'm sorry but i have to ask why or what do you assum the reason for the rock not agreeing to show up on wwe programming in the past 3 yeras or so...(me i'm guessing the touring scheudle as many retired wrestlers are saying..)
Sorry to post again, but I just remembered your Skittles bit from last Monday's episode. Great intensity!
Edge's shocking title reign in early 2006 produced high ratings, contributed to a strong buyrate for the Rumble, and saw a surge at the gate. Many feel Edge was a delivering as champion and should have headlined Wrestlemania 22 against Cena. Triple H, naturally, was given the spot again so Edge was forced to steal the show in the undercard. Throughout this past year, Edge has stolen the show on many occasions. Without a doubt, Edge has been the top heel in the industy over the past year and is even more deserving of the main event spotlight. How many times must Edge steal the show before he is given his due? Does it really make sense to build the biggest card of the year around two 'face vs. face' matches? And, moreover, what reason to fans have to care about the outcome of an Edge vs. Orton match? Angle vs. Benoit at Unforgiven '02 might suggest otherwise but, generally speaking, heel vs. heel matches are very difficult to pull off. Honestly, don't you feel that Edge has been slighted? Do you envision Edge ever headlinging Wrestlemania? If he can have a year like the one he has had and not get a main event position, then what, exactly, does he have to do?
Ooo! J.R. quit taking shots at the NHL it's not kosher!
Ric Flair was the highlight on this past RAW. He's the best. I pooped myself when he went off on Carlito! Loved every minute of it. More than a casual fan I've always been, and old school and that bit was the best, by anyone, in years. He just is the best when he puts the conviction in his words. Like the old days of the Horsemen. I watch the WWE on demand and seeing his old interviews when he was the world champ, and it was amazing to hear him rattle off all the people he was going to give title shots to. A heel champion, but gave everyone, everynight a different contender, a title shot. One night it'd be Ricky Morton, the next Manny Fernandez, etc. He wasn't a once a month champ. Flair's upcoming DVD is the most anticipated one this WRESTLING fan has EVER looked forward to. The Horsemen era was and always be the greatest time of professional wrestling that was. In the days of "good guys and bad guys", the had the smartest fan base. He led that time. The leader, he was. And till his last breath, he'll always be a leader. More Flair on RAW! Hoping Hogan and Flair would hook up one last time at WM 23, so all the fans of today would see what worth ethic is all about. Flairs legacy just continues to grow after all these years and he just seems to never lose a step. Wow. Think I'm a Flair fan? LOL! More on Flair, JR! I love your insights. You're truly the best.
In your Honest opinion who is the weirdier group of wrestlers: Duece and Domino, or Kevin Thorn and Ariel?
What are you thoughts on Matt Striker? I think he’s great on the mic and is underrated in the ring. If he gets a serious gimmick I truly feel he could be a huge star.
The Undertaker v. Batista match better be the main event. I do not want (im sure many will agree as well) to see Cena be in the main event. He has had his time in the spotlight. They should let the veteran main event the biggest event. Although im not a Batista but since taker is there, they should. Undertaker gets the victory & HKB wins the title from that no good Cena. Also yes, too predictable on Raw. Of course, I knew michaels would demand a match then Rated RKO would come asking for a match & somehow a triple threat would occur w/ michaels winning. Way predictable! Also Edge v. Orton will occur at Mania. Keep the blogs comin, JR
Hey JR, greetings from Vancouver BC! I love the WWE product and have supported it since the original Wrestlemania when I was about 4 years old. Quite an impressionable age in an impressionable year to become a WWE fan I would say. When Wreslemania came to Seattle in 03 I was thrilled to be there and even managed to go to last year's in Chicago. And I was thrilled to attend the hall of fame to see Bret Hart inducted. That in itself was the most priceless moment ever. But when does my town get to catch a break? We are even starved for house shows. (Yes I will be attending tomorrow) Is it possible to think we may get a Wrestlemania in the future, or a pay-per-view or anything? Raw anyone? The fans out here deserve more and it makes me sick, really. Maybe after the 2010 olympics we will have a venue that will suit you, but I truly don't understand why GM place will not suffice. Your response would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time, sir.
Hi J.R I know i keep asking you questions but this is my last one and its one i feel is most important. What are your thougths on Hulk Hogan possibly going too TNA? If he does go i think it will be a HUGE blow too the WWE. He's still one of the biggest names in the buisness, draws Huge crowds and can promote TNA on Hogan knows Best and other promotins. I feel he can take TNA too the next level just like he did in WCW how do you feel about this?
Hi J.R What do you think the chances are of X-Pac and Scott Hall rejoining the wwe are? I saw on a website that Scott Hall wanted too rejoin the wwe but well have you seen the guy he's HUGE and really needs too drop some weight. do you think he'll ever make a wwe return posibbly as Razor Ramon? thanks for your keep up the good work J.R peace.
Hi J.R I was wondering what do you think are the chances of the ULTIMATE WARRIOR being inducted into the Hall of fame? I know he and the wwe have there problems but never the less he's a legned and deserves to be inducted.
NOW HOGAN'S NOT APPEARING AT MANIA!mcmahon is fuming that he let the secret out about HOF,mcmahon's recently dressed down FLAIR!KILLED what was once a innovative brand ECW,dupree, vampires, zombies,no heyman,no ballroom, real smart moves just because your SO CALLED "SUPERSTARS" got there wings clipped at the hammerstein, people who call mcmahon a genius are very dumb, hes ruined a lifetime of peoples hard work to wreck brand names that are marketable,WCW,ECW,and lets not forget XFL,WBF,so at the end of the day he is forcing garbage nobodys on wrestling fans just so he doesnt have to pay for real legends,i hope HOGAN,HALL,GOLDBERG,LESNAR,SAVAGE,LUGER,FLAIR i hope all these end up in TNA,at least there they will get some RESPECT.
I would just like to add my name to the list of people who would love to see Randy Savage inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this year. Even more than that, I would be so happy to see a Macho Man DVD, looking back on his career and packed with his best matches. The WWE is doing a great job with it's DVD releases, and I am sure Randy Savage's career would make for a great release.
What are the possibilities of WWE acquiring the rights to the UWF library? That was truly a groundbreaking organization and had talent that few organizations can only dream of. Not to mention, it was my first taste of “Good Ol’ JR”. That would make an incredible DVD. Thanks.
Hey J.R., I've been watching WWE for years and read all of Mick Foley's books. The one thing I always enjoyed reading and rereading is the chapters in both books dealing with Owen Hart. I have never met Owen but while watching him on TV with than tag team partner Bulldog and saddly Koko B. Ware and also from the books it makes me enjoy him as a person with his stories from calling wrestlers up at hotels pretending to be a fan and eventually attempting to fight them, and the one about him posing as a promoter trying to get the sound guy to play the wrong entrance music at the wrong times. I'm sitting there laughing in my room thinking about it. But I was wondering, do you have any stories about Owen that would give the viewers of your blog, and of course me, a laugh or two? Thanks J.R.!
JR, rather than butter you up by saying your the best announcer in the biz, I would rather say that I think that you are the most down to earth guy out there and possess the most integrity of all your peers. I feel that you would shoot straight from the hip if a fan asked you a question, so please give me some honest feedback about the following inquiry. How much does the WWE value its fans feedback and do they take any of it into consideration when they are preparing their entertainent package? And if a fan had a paticular suggestion that they felt very passionate about, how could they go about having the right people hear them out? I would really appreciate your response and keep up the good work.
hey J.R. whats up. my questionm is what do u think about Booker T and his "King Booker" persona. Do you think that him finally becoming a world champ in the WWE was a long time coming?
JR, love the site, LOVE THE SAUCE!! Just wondering, in the past Wrestlemania has been in bigger venues such as The Silverdome, and The Hoosier Dome, and now this year at Ford Field. Do you feel it would be possible for a Wrestlemania to be at the Superdome down here in New Orleans?

Hey JR, I just have one question, and it regards the WWE Champ John Cena, i was just wondering that if in YOUR opinion, could Cena make it on a level with Hogan, Austin & The Rock? Or will he be remembered in the next tier down with HBK, Bret Hart, Undertaker, Foley, ETC... Thanks!
Hey J.R. I didn't like the idea of a Ric Flair heel turn at first, but i've changed my mind after watching my "To Be The Man" DVD set (Again!) One thing though, Roddy Piper is still a face. I can see a little rivalry brewing here. What are your thoughts of a Flair Vs Piper match at Wrestlemania 23? I think it would be huge, and it could steal the show in a heartbeat. Thanks for the info about Antonino Rocca too. Cheers, Rick M. Sheffield, England
Im 22 years old and have been huge fan since I was 4. Shawn Michaels has literally alwys been my favorite wen as a first grader and a friend and me imitating the Rockers while beating up pillows that represented the Bushwhackers, Demolition, or the Nasty Boys so I am ecstatic to see HBK in the WWE Championship match at Mania. I really hope they keep the Money in the Bank going like you said, i think a 3 brand match wors great for that idea. Something along the lines of CM Punk, Nitro, Matt Hardy, Sabu, Mr. Kennedy, King Booker I think would be an ideal lineup. Any thoughts on who would be entertaining in that type of match with a chance at a title shot on the line? i also want to say that the chairshot that Kennedy took at Survivor Series is the most viscious chairshot ive ever seen in the WWE, topping either Mr. McMahon or Mick Foley as the recipient of brutal shots... Lastly JR, JBL, Tazz shouldve been the rumbe announcer lineup "in my humble opinion."
Hey Jr, Great blog i really enjoyed reading it. I only have on question and this it. Has the WWE had any conversations with Chris Jericho and maybe a return to the ring in the near future. As i read a interview between him and tna and it would be a great shame if a great talent like that wasnt on the number one show. I know that i said that i only had one question but i just thought of another why is it that Kurt angle is still in the starting credits of ECW and the dont try this at home opening when he clearly is wrestling for another company just wondering. Once again great read Number (perth Australia)
oh i just thought this one up... remember way back when john cena had the feud with carlito... was john cena really stabbed at a club or was it apart of the story line
j r how can you make the statement about umaga ,that you wonder if that is his real name or not ,i would think that his family history ,which is so star filled that it should be brought up,and for you to imply that you are not aware of it is not very truthful.
Hi J.R., Just wondering if you no where the guy that co-won tough Enough with Johnny Nitro went? I can't remember his name but wondered where he disappeared too. David, Ireland
hello jr 2day i have 3 questions 1. now i might be only 15 but i sorta remember the fake deisel (i might have been watching a old wwf tape) and i was wondering... wasnt the fake deisel kane? 2. and also what do you think of a rumor that vince is more intimidated by wsx than tna just because wsx is in ecw's time slot 3. what do you think about tna's monday night special "this is TNA" which is taking RAW's time slot on monday
Hello JR! I just wanted to tell you that I gave my husband your book & bbq sauce for his birthday and he LOVED it!! We will be ordering more soon and often! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this blog. I look forward to reading it every few days. Not many people in your position would take time out to do such detailed work!! BTW...any news on Harry Smith?? As big British Bulldog fans we are looking forward to seeing him wrestle on TV. Thanks again!!
Hey J.R, any news regarding Stone Cold and JBL wrestling at WrestleMania 23? What match do you think Rey Mysterio will be in at Mania? i would love to see Benoit v. Mysterio for U.S. Title. Oh and sorry to say ECW sucks and should be cancelled. And is it true that RVD is leaving soon?
Hey JR, greetings from Germany ! I just wanna know your thoughts on the Royal Rumble Match between Lashley and Test. Do you think a weak count out finish was the right way to represent the ECW in front of the WWE audience ? By the way, I really enjoy reading your blog, it's very interesting.
hey, i live in the uk, and luckily got tickets to wrestlemania. we can transport your sauce in our suitcase, so can you bring a big truck load full and park it outside ford field on april 1st so we can have some of good ol' JR BBQ flavour, even though it rains all the time! keep up the good work.
I know the envelope has been pushed for hall of Randy Savage in the hall of fame not gonnna worry about that, I just hope Ricky steamboat will be inducted Im pushing for him, and the British Bulldogs should obviously be considered for ag team purposes, Jim Neidhart, then you have the 2 greatest tag teams in the history of the wwe I dare say wrestling in there. Long live the Bulldogs and the Hart Foundation. Ps please let HBK win the tittle at mania. Micheals needs another maina title win well deserving for the superstar who has most of the best matches of the card
Please do not ever end Undertakers undefeated streak and please never get rid of the Underaker character TNA SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS ! WWE RULES ITS THE BEST! if TNA were so good why is half their roster made up of WWE firees. WWE on the other hand can make their own talent and put on quality matches and quality storylines. WWE doesn't depend on how many sides their ring has to get good ratings. PLEASE NEVER END UNDERTAKERS UNDEFEATED WRESTLEMANIA STREAK, NO-ONE DESERVES TO END IT. HE SHOULD REMAIN UNDEFEATED AT WRESTLEMANIA FOREVER! BECAUSE HE IS THE BES OF THE BEST AND HE IS IN HIS PRIME RIGHT NOW, HIS CHARACTER NEVER GES OLD
Hi J.R., great blog as ever. I was wondering what, in your considerable experience, makes a good announcer in the wrestling industry, and also what makes a bad one? Thanks, and keep up the great work, the fans really appreciate it!
Sauce question for J.R. or anyone else: Ever use the sauce to cook with beans? Which sauce/bean combo works best?
JR, do you believe in God? Cause you use His Name in vain quite a lot.
