I may be miles away from the USA, but that’s the beauty of a computer!
This trip has been so far, so good and I seem to find plenty of great food (no jokes please) and beverage. Life is good and Bar-B-Q is life.
Stu- Jushin Liger was one of a kind. When Liger was healthy and in his prime, he was an amazing talent. I loved calling his matches against Brian Pillman back in the old WCW. Liger was comparable to Rey Mysterio in that both are not giants, but are nonetheless extraordinary.
Erika- Thanks for ordering the Slobber-Knocker Heat Beef Jerky. You are a real woman because the Slobber-Knocker has plenty of “personality”! For carb watchers, our jerky is on the money.
Sam- I don’t know what happened with the interviews I did with Mick Foley about his new book “Hardcore Diaries”. I thought the were going to be airing on wwe.com. Maybe someone did not like them. It might have been my hat.
Bill- I have had a few good meals at Smokey Bones BBQ. The best places for “Q” are the mom and pop places that are usually just wide spots in the road.
Sy- I have lots of dream matches in my brain, but what about The Million Dollar Man vs. Stone Cold Steve Austin?
Carol- I assume HBK came out to his old music because he is working solo at this time. I also assume that Shawn will don the DX colors when HHH gets healthy. Then again, perhaps both HBK and HHH will do their own individual thing. Personally, I like DX and the duo of Michaels and The Game.
Nick- When will Jeff Hardy be a “main eventer?” I would suggest he is a main eventer now, in my mind’s eye. Jeff is one of the most popular performers in the entire WWE. If Jeff continues to steer the course, I am sure more success will come his way. “Rainbow Hair” is hugely talented.
Nick- I think Kenny Dykstra has a definite upside. Kenny is young, dedicated and has a great natural aptitude for wrestling. Let’s hope he stays healthy, physically and mentally, and continues to improve. Kenny could have many years of competing in main events if he steers the course. I first met Kenny when he was in High School and we told him we would sign him if he graduated. He did, and he’s now a budding WWE Superstar.
Keegan- C.M. Punk is another young man I enjoy watch wrestle. I wish he were on Raw every Monday. Nonetheless, Punk has started a new phase of his young career and we will see sooner than later how well he fits into his new role in ECW. I think he will do great and there is no doubt that Punk’s best days are still to come. The WWE has several outstanding young talents starting to come into their own, and Punk is one of them.
Jake in Ireland- My favorite Soprano’s character is definitely Tony. But there aren’t any characters on my favorite show that I really don’t like. I am going to miss two weeks of The Sopranos while I am in Italy and England, but I would bet a Rib Dinner that there are some surprise “whacks” over these two broadcasts. I fear Tony will be offed too, but I predict it will be towards the last few minutes of the final show.
Reverend Funk- I do hope you make it to I-35 and Main Street in Norman, Oklahoma and visit our restaurant. More than likely old J.R. will be hanging out. I might even be waiting on a few tables and enjoying an ice cold beverage.
I have encountered many language issues this week, but that’s really nothing new for this Okie with my Sooner/Southern drawl. But I have not found any shortage of nice folks and great fans. It is a wonderful deal to be able to travel around the globe and run into people who are wrestling fans just like me. That’s the universal language in my book and something on which we can all communicate, no matter what our native tongue is.
It’s tea time Mates. Cheers!
J.R.
