J.R.'s BBQ Sooner Pigskin Report from ouinsider.com

Posted in:
Greetings from Soonerland from a BBQ lovin’ OU fan who enjoyed watching the Sooner scrimmage on Wednesday night. Even in the oppressive heat, the Oklahoma football team had a spirited scrimmage on Wednesday that saw both the offense and the defense have their “moments”. From my perspective, all three QB’s — Sam Bradford, Joey Halzle and Keith Nichol, who are vying for the starting job — seemed to all receive equal work or very close to it. The three signal callers each did some good things, made some plays and threw the ball well. But, strictly from a casual observer’s opinion, it seemed that Sam Bradford looked to be the most comfortable of the trio of signal callers. I stress the term “casual observer”. Bradford just seems to have the most “presence” of the three QB’s at this time and at 6’5”, Sam can see the field well, seems to make more good decisions than bad ones and can definitely throw the ball. J.R., the pre-season polls by the Associated Press (AP), and USA Today have been released and my favorite sports website is Yahoo! Sports (http://sports.yahoo.com) for some reason. I think it's because they concentrate more on information, and the fact the way their binary files (video, pictures and audio content) are organized, the pages load fairly quickly compared to other sports websites. If you want to take a peak at the AP and USA Today preseason poll go here: http://sports.yahoo.com/ncaaf/polls;_ylt=Ahn9GcTt0b78eLvJbLEn_y0cvrYF I've heard that the AP Poll is no longer part of the BCS formula, but will still be a respected poll in terms of evaluating national championship title contenders. Here's what I'm referring to when I say the AP Poll is no longer part of the BCS standings. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/orl-appoll1907aug19,0,6469614.stor...
Hey JR, Congrats on the new restaurant. Hopefully it will be a huge success to the point that It can be the next BBQ or Boston Market Franchise. I just finished view WWE 24 / 7 and I know I mentioned this before. I absolutely love the show you host called Legends of Wrestling. It's probably my most favorite thing to watch in 2007. It's really interesting to know how the guys are backstage and how certain individuals felt back then and how they feel now. I hope you have more shows like this in the future.
