J.R.'s Superstars of the Week - Cody Rhodes, Paul London & Brian Kendrick (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the black, 200X Resistol hat from your resident Oklahoma Sooner football fan and barbecue lover, who is going to experience plenty of both this week, as the college football season kicks off and WWE prepares to produce Monday Night Raw at a rare Sunday event in another college football hotbed, Columbus, Ohio. Oklahoma hosts North Texas, “Stone Cold's” alma mater, Saturday night, but the Texas Rattlesnake has other obligations and can’t make the game. The Sooners are favored by around 40 points or so, which I find excessive. Steve has become a quasi-OU fan, and will be in Norman, Okla., for at least one game this fall, for those of you keeping score at home. Plus, the star of The Condemned, which is out on DVD September 18, loves our COLD beverages. Read the rest of the story at WWE.com » Webmaster

I have a question regarding your use of the term "stepping up". In light of the recent suspensions, you have stated that lower to mid card guys need to "step up". Given the control that the creative department has over the television shows, how does a superstar "step up"? I can see how a superstar could improve his craft during the 80's and 90's when the individual performers had more input into their characters. However, given how much creative has control over every aspect would it be more appropriate to say that creative needs to step up? Also, I am aware that you are no longer part of the creative process, but do you know if wrestlers have the power to veto or rewrite a script? There seems to be many wrestlers capable of getting themselves over from an in-ring standpoint. However, many of those same wrestlers seem to have "something" in the way of reaching their full potential. Its obvious to me that "something" is usually the creative team. I know I can be long winded and I appreciate your time.I am passing through your neck of the woods in a couple of weeks on vacation. I purposely redid our schedule and route so we could eat at your resteraunt. My wife has not noticed this change and hopefully she falls in love with the food because she might kill me when she sees the wrestling related decor on the walls of your resteraunt. She is not big fan of wrestling and she hates Monday nights with a passion. However, she loves good BBQUE. If you happen to be at the resteraunt when I am there, you may recognize me. I am about 6 foot tall medium build and I could have a wife's foot up my ass.
Paul London and Brian Kendrick are awesome. I was not happy to see them leave SmackDown because they had a decent amount of air time. Their matches are great. I liked seeing them battle Deuce & Domino. When the heck are they going to get a match with Cade & Murdoch? I do not like Cade & Murdoch as champions because they seem to lack charisma. I thought their first feud as champs with the Hardy's was going to be good but it seemed to fizzle out. Maybe a match up with London & Kendrick would spice up their performance. Lance Cade does have the skills to be a good heel (I know that's an oxymoron) but he needs to develop his own style. I liked the "fair fighting" champ he was touting at first but the gimmick hasn't caught on good. I suggest that Cade and Murdoch amp up their performances by committing to their roles more and by going overboard with their persona's. Cade, the heel, fair fighting champion that fights dirty when the referee is not looking. Murdoch could really take his persona of a mad trucker up to the next level with an added layer of belligerence. As for London & Kendrick, I can only say one thing: More air time.
i think these people can't imagine all the sacrefices, the superstars make, just for us
WHAT DO YOU THINK WHEN PEOPLE SAY WRESTLERS ARE NOT ATHLETES?
JR- Where has referee Jack Doan been lately? And who is the new ref on Raw? ~ Katie
it's always a great time when the texas Rattlesnake is in the ring, but i think that he should make some match with some legend of the WWE,just like triple h,shawn michaels, the rock, the undertake, hulk hogan.... and a lot of other if he does,i think that can, really, enjoy everyone in the crowd.
