J.R.'s Superstar of the Week - Triple H (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the black, 200X Resistol hat from the soon-to-be barbecue capitol of Oklahoma, Norman, where “Stone Cold” Steve Austin will be passing through this week while making an autograph appearance at the Oklahoma State Fair Monster Truck Show Saturday night. Yours truly had a nice weekend in Tennessee, first with a stop Sunday in Memphis for Unforgiven, and then driving up to Nashville for Monday Night Raw and then back to Memphis for the rare, “non-stop” flight back to Oklahoma City Tuesday morning. I wanted to stop at Loretta Lynn’s Dude Ranch, but Jerry “The King” Lawler and I stopped for a Shoney’s Buffet instead. Nothing wrong with the “pitch ‘till you win” all one can eat buffets, which harkens back to the old days when money was really scarce in the business, especially for a young referee. Many of us ate one nice meal a day, usually a buffet, and were glad to get it. Read the rest of the story at WWE.com » Webmaster

Should we expect a 'WCW DVD Anthology' soon? I would love to see some great Nitro moments and relive them as if it were 1998. Great blogs and food offers on this site Jim. I definitely want to take a road trip to the restaurant. I can see it now...Treet Williams and Mr. "U Can't See Me" scrapping at the table over some ribs! Are you a Williams "mark"?
Even though he is a little older than Cena, I can definitely see Treat Williams spinning him around for a loop. Let's hope McMahon jumps on this topic while it's hot, and we see some sort of confrontation. I could see Treat being some sort of heel general manager or several other possibilities.
JR ; What do you think of Memphis Barbeque ??? PS We need a JR's in Alexandria Va BAD !!!!!! HELP.... your biggest fan .....
Jim Ross I agree with the comments of everyone above How could you name Triple H the superstar of the week. Its truly ashame what World Wrestling Entertainment is becoming. Of course Stephanie McMahon wants Triple H to be this unstoppable force so he could be compared to Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair and Jack Brisco. Now don't get me wrong "the game" is one of the greatest to lace up boots but nobody is unstoppable Hogan, Undertaker, Austin and the Rock have all fallen at one point. I personally think the man plays politics with his family the McMahons. He makes everyone think Shane McMahon is incapable of running WWE, Steph listens to his every move to put him over. And Vince and Linda allow all this to take place its scary. Soon if your not careful it will be game over for WWE with the McMahons bankurpt.
The thing is, HHH is a great talent. Sadly, in twenty years time he won't be remembered for his in-ring accomplishments but rather the way he systematically buried talent he believed to be "underneath" him. There's no justification for it whatsoever. Since he's been back from injury, King Booker, Umaga, Carlito, Lance Cade, Trevor Murdoch, Paul London and Brian Kendrick have all been made to look like second-rate athletes. Unless you make the fans care about the wrestlers, the product will suffer because the fans won't have an emotional investment in any of the matches. For instance, why should the casual fan care about the Tag Team Champions if HHH (and by extension, the WWE) treat them like a joke? It works both ways though, I mean who's gonna benefit from the upcoming Cage Match between HHH and Carlito? We all know HHH is gonna win, but is he going to look strong in the process? No. Nobody views Carlito as a potential threat to "The Game" because HHH's actions have already established that Carlito isn't "on his level". As such, HHH doesn't gain anything from beating him, and Carlito just looks like even more of a joke. You may aswell just put HHH over an anonymous jobber...
The Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjiman match was great too bad RAW or Smackdown can't feature more of these type of matches. Instead of trying to sell us the illusion that the musclehead is unbeatable. The althete with the best combo of power, techinque, & speed usually wins in any sport.
How can you call HHH the Superstar of the Week when he destroyed 5 innocent mid-carders in 2 minutes for absolutely no reason at all? It didn't get HHH over 1 Iota in fact it made people respect him less!
Good ol Jr please allow me to answer this question posed by libidoanger whom sound like a 17-19 yr old virgin "avid follower of nearly 2 decades" lol heres the answer libido read closely that angle doesnt help anyone but HHH and the reason for this just as the reason will be when he takes down umaga cleanly is that he will eventually be pushed back to the top and creative would love nothing more then to have all the marks out there thing he is back to being "the game" an indestructible force in the wwe....
JR. HHH is a selfish performer. I was actually looking forward to his return but now actually find myself wishing he was gone again. His time has come and gone and there will never be a new star with the way he buries the other talent. Why can't he realize that there is room for him to have a spot on top and still build the business for the future?
Dear J.R. As an avid follower of wrestling for nearly two decades, I have greatly enjoyed the "opening" of the business, so to speak. That has helped me to gain somewhat of an understanding of how the business works, though I realize my perspective is still very much that of one on the outside looking in. Here is my question, which you as an insider and all round student of the business, can and with luck WILL adress: How was ANYONE other than Paul Leveque elevated in the monday night angle, in which many would say Triple H burried no less than FIVE "midcarders". I am having flash backs to Wrestlemania X9 where Triple H (a heel) destroyed up-and-coming Booker T clean with the pedigree, and waited twenty something seconds before covering him from a spotlessly clean pinfall. I fail to see how this benefits anyone other than Triple H and his fanclub. Can you adress how such things make sense? please? Thanks from Denmark :)
Look J.R., NEVER mention Rosie and two piece again in reference to each other. Better yet, don't even mention them in the same day! You almost made me lose my appetite for beef jerky. ALMOST!
