J.R.'s Superstar of the Week - Randy Orton (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the black, 200X Resistol hat from your resident barbecue-lovin’ Okie who enjoyed my 24 hours in the United Kingdom for Monday Night Raw as we continue to count down the days until Cyber Sunday on pay-per-view. Jerry “The King” Lawler and I will be out in L.A. this Friday for the big electronic show in town representing THQ who has developed the awesome WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2008 Nintendo game. I had more fun working on this video game project than any other I can recall, and I am sure all you “gamers” will love playing this game. The storyline elements are unique and offer many options for you to enjoy. This video game is a must-have for sure. Read the rest of the story at WWE.com » Webmaster

Hey J.R how are you, I just wanted your opinion on Beth Pheoinx, What are your thoughts on her I feel that when you have her as Womens Champion its going force all of the other divas to step up like Molly and Jazz did when they were champions. I think shes could be the future of the divas divison. I'd like to see what she could do against Championship contenders like Mickie who is my favorite and reminds me of Trish. And the other is Torrie Wilson because i feel that she has come along way since she started from a model to one of the best in WWE what are your thoughts on all of this
Cena was robbed by God !!!!
J.R., I've got another question. Will you write an autobiography anytime soon? I know it would sell. It would be really cool to read about all of your experiences with the legendary wrestlers who are no longer with us.
Why is it that we don't see much actual wrestling anymore? The matches we do see are great, but it seems like the focus is on gimmicks and sillyness. Yeah it's fun to watch but which do you prefer? By the way, the 15 minute brawl between Triple H and Umaga on Sept. 22 was the best thing I've seen in months. The British Bulldog's son was also very impressive. Where do you see him in 5 years?
Dear JR, I've been reading a lot of wrestling biographies lately, including Ric Flair's, Rowdy Roddy Piper's, Hulk Hogan's, Mick Foley's and Stone Cold Steve Austin's. What other books would you recommend? I really enjoy the "inside look" on the wrestling business and I love your show on WWE 24/7- The Legends of Wrestling. I look for it every month, usually the highlight of my month. I think that is the best program 24/7 has to offer, I wish it was a weekly show to be honest. I wanted to ask, I know you have a sucessful cookbook, however are you interested in writing an autobiography? You're mentioned in every wrestling book I've ever read, a WWE Hall of Famer, and probably the most respected name in the wrestling business today I imagine your life would be very interesting to read about, especially how you go to where you are. Also all the crazy stories that is rare for fans to hear about. Im also really interested to hear an in depth description comparing John Wayne's to wrestling, mentioned in Austin's book. I look forward to its release, if its a plan of yours. I also wanted to ask, Where is Ric Flair? I miss him, after reading his book, watching the 4 horsemen DVD and the Ric Flair DVD set. I need some more Nature Boy. I wish him the best, and a speedy return to WWE Television. Thank you for your time. I respect you so much, You're a god amongst men, and I can't thank you enough for all the entertainment you've given me in the the 22 years I've been alive. Have a good day/night and I hope you never leave WWE. You make it important. John S
JR -- I saw the commercial for your restaurant that aired during Smackdown the other night. Good job on the ad! Looks like Animal Jr. aka James Laurinaitis is making quite a name for himself at THE Ohio St. University especially since he's on Butkis and Outland Trophy watch lists. What does the proud papa think of all this? Since OU is off this week, you gonna fly out early for Cyber Sunday? Have a great week. Robert
Hello JR, I heard that the WWE let's soldiers in live events for free providing they wear their uniform, and show their military I.D. Does the same hold true for PPV's? Thanks, Charles
Hello there! I was the one that wondered when tickets for Armageddon would be out (though it seems like we all are sitting front row to it climate-wise as it is summer weather outside in the middle of winter here in Sweden!). Anyway I got tickets at Mellon arena section 16 on the floor at armageddon for me and my wife at our honeymoon. I hope to see you there, you'll recognize me from having the most astoundingly beautiful woman by my side. Have you tried fresh cilantro on something spicy like a chipotle chili dish? That will make your tastebuds happy I garan-damn-tee you! And by the way, skittles really are something extra.
How are you? Just had a quick question I was wondering how you and all the other talent go about recording voiceovers for video games Thanks for your time and Boomer Sooner!
tell the king tomorrow night that i feel sorry for his cleveland indians for coming so close to the World Series
Hey Jim! Another great entry! Great to see Randy Orton getting a thumbs up from yourself. I think his new dangerous and crippling persona is a joy to watch. I do hope he works well backstage during his WWE Title run aswell as in the ring. Earlier today I watched the ol' Brawl for All matches and I was wondering what your take on the tournament was? Did you enjoy the fights or think it was a bad idea? I understand that many fans didn't like it... but I thought Brawl for All was a great competitive enviroment and it showed just how tough some of the stars were. Could you ever see WWE holding another Brawl for All? Some of the boxing fights could be great with the talent on display now in WWE. Imagine Lashley vs Batista in a Brawl for All contest? How about Big Daddy V vs Umaga?!?
You know JR, I have been watching wrestling since I was 3, which we're talkin around 81 or so, and I started off watching Georgia Championship Wrestling on Saturday nights on the Superstation. I remember vividly Gordon Solie calling the matches and all the great talent that were on those broadcasts before it became NWA officially although they were affiliated at the time. I have saw tons of great matches over the years from the Georgia/NWA days to the WCW days, from the WWF to WWE, from USWA to WCCW, to the AWA and UWF even Smokey Mountain. But one thing I will always remember are the great group of commentators that helped bring to life and bring the most from those matches. If I were to choose my all time favorites of those commentators to sit down together and call matches, I would definitly say I would sit down three men at ringside to do what they do best. They would be Gordon Solie, Gorilla Monsoon, and good ol' Jim Ross. Of all the men that have called matches over these many decades, you three have/had the best insight and the greatest knack for the business, and I say with the most sincerety it's been a pleasure to have been a part of all those days, and I have learned TONS from you guys. We'll always miss Gordon and Gorilla, and hopefully they're getting to call play by play with the angels in Heaven. Keep doing what you do best Jim!
Hi JR, good choice. I'm just wondering..what would you make of a future babyface Great Khali? At the moment he is very effective in the role he plays, but a few months, a year down the line - him playing a comedic face would be very good TV. "Khali goes to the mall", "Khali goes to the beach", ah the possibilities.
J.R. with all the wrestlers writing books lately, I was wondering if the Undertaker will be writing his autobiography anytime soon. Keep up the great work Bryan
I was wondering if your restaurant was going to show Cyber Sunday on the 28th
Hi JR!! Don't really have a question for you, but I did want to tell you that today I took my PSATs and there was a question about pro-wrestling on it!! I was really surprised by it. Just thought it was a nice coincedence. --Dee
Good to see you in Ames at the Sooners-Cyclones game today JR. I was on the opposite side of the stadium but was able to spot you because of your black, 200X Resistol hat on the Sooners sideline. We (I'm an Iowa State grad) gave you more of an effort than I was expecting. Good luck the rest of the way as I'm hoping you will represent the Big XII in the national championship game this year. I hope your visit to Ames and your dealings with the Iowa State fans were pleasant.
Hey JR. Good choice for superstar of the week! Randy has picked up his game, big time! Keep up the stupendous (Use that on RAW and I promise people will repeat it in your honour) work. :)
Hey J.R. I'm a big fan of your commentating. I know I'm about to ask a HARD and debatable question.I was a HUGE fan of Chris Benoit's work in the ring as most of us were. A big part of my childhood was the Monday Night Wars back in the day, where I was first introduced and influenced by Benoit on Nitro. One of the reason's I subscribed to WWE 24/7 in the 1st place was the Monday Night Wars feature where they playback both Raw and Nitro in its entirety.Ever since the Benoit tragedy he has been edited out. Do you think they will eventually slowly bring back Benoit's matches,or will this editing be permanent?
Hi J.R., Thanks for making Randy Orton your 'Superstar of the Week' on RAW. I thought he did really well in his three matches and he worked hard on the show. As did all the other guys, of course! I attended the RAW house show in Sheffield, England on Thursday and it was a very fun and enjoyable evening. My two kids loved it and can't wait to go to another one! I have one question though...why is the new WWE Champ having to job clean to a HHH pedigree in the big tag matches that have been at the house shows here in the UK? I know you probably won't know why but I personally wasn't happy to see Randy have to take the pin. Other than that...great show!
hey JR its wonderful reading all your blogs.............im a huge WWE fan...........i was wondering whether there will ever be a WCW one night stand ????
Hey! Hi there....i am from canada... i jus wanted to ask...u about Brock and Y2K's possible return to WWE....? will brock come back..?i am huge fan of his... and same for jericho?> thnx
Hey JR, I read your Superstar of the week and it is good. But, there is one thing I want to ask, what is your outake of the Highlanders targeting the World Tag Team Champs that happened on RAW this past Monday?
I just got back from the video game convention where you and the King signed autographs. In my awe of meeting you both I didn't look at the autographed picture you signed for me till I left the booth...you signed "Long Live Pillman" after seeing my Brian Pillman shirt. :) Thank you and the King for taking the time and being so friendly. As a long time fan it was an honor to meet you both...I could never explain how much I've enjoyed the work the both of you have contributed to the business inside and outside of the WWE. Take good care and I hope we get a JR's BBQ out here sometime soon.
