Bar-B-Q’ed Feedback…Shop ‘Till You Drop In Our On Line Store…J.R.’s Products Make Unique Xmas Gifts!

Thanks for stopping by J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q! There is still clean up to be done here in Oklahoma but with neighbors helping neighbors we are all getting along fine even though many of us lost some beautiful trees during the recent ice storm. Many thanks for the comments of concern. Also with all the bad weather here in Oklahoma, our restaurant has been doing some record setting business the past few days which is amazing. Business in our store has been excellent and remember that you still have time to make any of our J.R.’s products fun and unique Xmas gifts or gifts for any occasion for that matter. My family is working over time to insure that your orders are shipped as quickly as possible and our goal is to get all your orders to Federal Express within a few hours of receiving them here on the site. So, don’t burn any more daylight and place your orders today and we will do our absolute best to ship out your order later today or, at worst, tomorrow. Let’s get to some feedback: John- Other than the hair style, I don’t see Kennedy and Ronnie Garvin being too much alike at this time. Garvin was one of the most aggressive men I have personally ever seen in the wrestling biz and if young Kennedy can elevate his aggression to that level then we have a viable comparison to discuss. Kennedy is aggressive but “The Hands of Stone” took aggression to another level rarely approached by most grapplers. T. Adams- Indeed the Raw 15th Anniversary show was like a family reunion of sorts, perhaps a little dysfunctional, and it was great catching up with the “alums” and hearing what they were doing these days. Trish, Lita, and Sunny all looked super and would easily fit fight back into the WWE Diva mix if that was a direction they chose to travel. However, after one has been off the road for a while the challenges of travel often time dissuade one from returning to the biz at least full time. Travel is hell these days. Ness- I have missed Joe Cotton’s Bar-B-Q during my travels to south Texas but I will check it out if I am ever in that neighborhood. I love hearing of and trying new “Q” joints. We have some super Bar-B-Q recipes in our J.R.’s Cookbook of which we still have autographed copies available in our store. Chris- Thanks for giving our Sauces as Xmas gifts and I agree with you that many folks love food items or unique items as gifts for the holidays or any time for that matter. I hope the weather doesn’t prohibit you from checking our our describe my announcing style as “old school” and it is not likely to change at this stage of the game as I am simply being myself…for better or for worse. Terry- The WWE has plenty of material for a Fabulous Freebird DVD but one would assume that it would be after the World Class DVD that is currently and runs its course. If you haven’t checked out that particular release I certainly encourage you to do so. Michael James- Of course I was thinking of Savage and Bartlett when Stone Cold said the “greatest announce team ever on Raw”. You are obviously extremely bright Michael James. Keirn’s Kid- I honestly think that Hulk was simply having some fun at Macho Man’s expense with Hogan’s ad lib during Hulk’s promo on Raw in Bridgeport. From what I can ascertain, there is no love lost between Hulk and Randy….or at least that is what most of us are lead to believe. The ad lib came from nowhere and means nothing substantial to the best of my knowledge. However, it seems to have served its purpose as lots of folks seem to be talking about it…..BROTHER!! Donnie- I have no idea if Chyna was invited back for the Raw Anniversary show but somehow I doubt it. If you miss her that much Donnie check out TMZ TV or VH1 as she seems to get ample exposure on those shows. Plus there is the video she made that you could check out if you dare. For the record, I still think that Chyna winning the IC Title was not a great day in the annals of the biz. Just one man’s opinion. CWK- Obviously you think that the Rock should have been on the Raw Anniversary show but unfortunately he was unable to attend. Several invited individuals were unable or unwilling to attend. As I see it that is there call and we had a lot of fun with those that did attend. I am not a Rock basher nor do I think he owes the wrestling business anything. From communicating with him as I do on a semi regular basis I do know that wrestling is in his blood and that he keeps up as best he can with what is going on but his schedule is overwhelming right now as he is striking while the iron is hot with his movie career. I am proud of his success and feel his contributions to wrestling will stand on their own merit and as most fans do I hold out hope that we will see the “Great One” on a future WWE project. Trenton- Thanks for the kind words. I had a blast last week on Raw but as always I would have loved to have seen more actual wrestling. However I loved the video packages of all the amazing Raw moments and seeing many of the old timers I had not seen in years. JR- Nice name….no I am not homophobic nor do I always bring up Pat Patterson’s name in “harsh” terms in my point of view. Pat is a dear friend and has been a great mentor to me over the years. Brandon- I thought the Ladder Match was the highlight of the Anniversary Raw. You are right in that the Tag Title win by Holly and Rhodes was essentially forgotten after it occurred as the show continued to roll on with other business. Mr. T- Several folks pointed out that HBK and The Rock had been in the ring together with HBK officiating a HHH-Rock bout which I had forgotten. My original point was I did not recall HBK wrestling The Rock but I appreciate so many of you commenting on them “being in the ring together.” Rock vs. HBK would be a match I would love to see but it will never happen except perhaps in a video game. Chris- Glad you enjoyed Raw in Bridgeport in person. Helluva live show it would seem to me. As best I know RVD’s surprise appearance was a “one off” and I know of no plans on Rob returning full time at this time anyway. Who knows down the road? Backlund is always a welcome sight and he only lives a few minutes from Bridgeport. Bob had been a stalwart WWE competitor as the company’s top guy for many, many years. Younger fans who never saw the serious side of Backlund the wrestler should not confuse him with his Mr. Backlund persona. Adam S.- I have no idea what the WWE plans on doing with existing Chris Benoit video footage in the future. I would also be leery of some “internet rumors” regarding this matter as well. Some internet sites even teased that both the Rock and Bret Hart had arrived in Bridgeport last week and whisked into the arena under extensive security. I think you should personally remember Benoit for what ever you choose but remembering him as a future WWE Hall of Famer isn’t likely in my opinion. Interesting fact from my friend and wrestling historian Dennis Brent who is a former magazine publisher in World Class, WCW and the WWE and who may become more involved in our site in the near future…..Mike Rotundo aka IRS who won then eliminated himself in the battle royal on the Anniversay Raw was also the winner of the first match ever on the very first Clash of Champions broadcast on TBS. Rotundo beat Jimmy Garvin on March 27, 1988 in Greensboro on the night that Flair and Sting had a 45 minute draw. There were, as best we can figure, 6 people at the Anniversary Raw that appeared on the first Clash…Rotundo, Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, and yours truly. For the record, that first Clash had only 5 matches. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bobby Heenan who recently underwent jaw surgery as a result of his cancer treatments of some time ago. I have always said that Heenan and Jim Cornette were the two best ringside managers I ever saw perform and I am sticking with that story. Bobby was one of my first true friends in the WWE when I originally came there from WCW and was considered by many WWE insiders as “the enemy”. Bobby’s amazing wit and uncanny timing has never been replicated and there is no one on the horizon who is remotely close to “The Brain’s” abilities. God Bless you Bobby and get well soon my friend. Happy Holidays every one and thanks so much for your continued support of our products with your orders here on our site. Be well and I will talk to you soon. BOOMER SOONER! J.R.

Hey J.R. Have to say love your work. As a wwe fan from Scotland I know you put house shows on here when you are all touring the U.K. but live raws or smackdowns are always in England, what are the chances in your opinion of a Raw or Smackdown broadcast coming from Scotland preferably Edinburgh or Glasgow. We have some decent arenas and several stadiums where it could be held such as Murrayfield or Hampden Park.

Will Elijah Burke become a big star in wwe?

Hey Mr. Ross: I have a question for you, if you do not mind answering. While Mr. McMahon and the staff of the WWE brought back many of the former stars (Sunny, Lita, R.V.D. et al), do you think they should have paid a little tribute to some of the past superstars who have moved on from this world (besides Owen Hart). You could have included Mr. Perfect, Rick Rude, Eddie Guerrero, and my late friend Chris "Skip" Candido Finally, if Raw comes to the Jersey Shore in the Summer of '08, we have a new BBQ joint that just opened up which is really good. (I admit, your store is better, but on the east coast, not easy to go to JB's often) You will have to try JB's BBQ Thanks and Merry Christmas and Happy 2008! Ronn Daignault

Hey JR, When does the WWE plan on coming back to Oklahoma City? I know we had a power outage during Raw last time, but that doesn't mean that you can leave us hanging for 1 1/2 years!

J.R I think that Bret Hart, Mick Foley, The Rock, Triple H, Shawn Micahels, Stone Cold, and others are great in their own rights and definetly deserving of greatest raw superstar nods, but The Undertaker has been a consistent figure throughout the years and constantly reinvents himself, staying ahead of the game. Would you agree J.R that he more than anybody deserves the moniker of Greatest Raw Superstar Ever? Also J.R through out the years no matter what happens you can always depend on Hulk Hogan getting the biggiest pop from the crowd. Do you think that one of the reasons Stone Cold doesn’t want to step in the ring with Hogan is due to the fact that he doesn’t want his fan loveable character dwarfed by an world icon? As seen when the fans rooted for Hogan against The Rock even when he tried to kill him with an 18 wheeler, or when babyface Shawn Michaels instantly became heel for challenging Hogan.

What constitutes a southern draw?

How did Vince McMahon feel about the Macho Man reference by Hogan on Raw?

is wwe in talks with ron killings?

Hey there Boomer Sooner! When you guys come to Hampton Virginia in January you need to check out Pierce's BBQ in nearby Lightfoot. Only Virginia Style BBQ joint in the world!! (and no, I do not work there)

Hi JR! Thanks for many years of great commentary! RAW seems to be the show where the most focus goes these days; but Smackdown has some very impressive young superstars in addition to greats Undertaker and Kane. In your opinion, who are the up-and-coming performers from Smackdown that have what it takes to bring that show to the next level and match RAW's huge young personalities like John Cena, Randy Orton and Jeff Hardy?

Hey J.R. I LOVE the Legends of Wrestling series that you host on 24/7. You guys do a awesome job giving insight to some behind the scence topics that wrestling fans do not usually get a chance to learn about. I wanted to know if there was any talk of releasing these on DVD perhaps as full season sets, it is certainly something I could see myself watching over and over agian. If not could you pass the idea along? Also is there anywhere that fans could send suggestions for topics? Thanks

JR, A spark has been lit in you ever since those idiots questioned your passion for wrestling. Your announcing has been pretty much flawless over the last two Monday nights. Your work at the 15th anniversary show was incredible. You and the king made me hang on to every word you said. Keep up the great work Jr, and don't believe those idiots who say you should "hang em up". You are the best announcer alive today. Period. And by the way, I would love to hear JR and JBL call a show. JBL has improved greatly over the last couple of months, and he could learn a lot by working with JR. Last night's RAW was more "entertainment" than wrestling. I cann't see having McMahon's "episode" last as long as it did. They could have done that segment in 10 minutes and give the same point accross, that McMahon is crazy. I felt sorry for the fan's in attendance who paid to see that garbage. Call me old school, but I believe that a wrestling show should have more than one (the diva's) match in an hour. The first hour of RAW was BORING! That's why I flipped the channel to the Bear's game on ESPN. It is a shame how underutilized Brian Kendrick and Paul London are. I wish they were still on SmackDown, so that I can at least see them wrestle on a regular basis, and not job to inferior rookies like Carlito and whatever the Italian dude's name is. JBL's rant was interesting, but again I would prefer seeing a wresling segment, but again I am considered "old school." Jeff Hardy's time is now. He is at the point in his career when he needs to focus on the WWE championship. And from the crowd's response last night, I am not the only one who feels that he is ready and able to be the champion. Jeff deserves the oppurtinity to be champion, a WHOLE lot more than Randy Orton does. At least Jeff has "paid his dues." Randy is still inexperienced, and less deserving than Jeff. And boy am I ready for Matt Hardy to return. I believe that when Matt comes back, that him and MVP will have a great program together fighting for the US championship. I would love to see someday Jeff Hardy hold the WWE title, and Matt Hardy have the World title. They both have the potential to be world champions, and they both deserve the shot at the gold. Just imagine how proudy their daddy Mr. Hardy would be if both his sons had world championships at the same time. Take care, and merry christmans! Ken-Lumberton, NC

Hey JR I heard on a couple of web sites that at the legends round table foley and hayes got into a really bad argument where to the point of bad cussing. Is this just internet B.S.?

Dear JR, I have big a huge fan of William Regal's through-out his entire career. His wrestling style is like no others and I am glad to see him as the General Manager of RAW. Being Regal's number 1 fan I have to ask: Do you think the WWE would be willingly to make William Regal DVD highlighting some of his best matches (including Chris Benoit) and do you think that William Regal is Hall of Fame worthy? Thanks, Glen

Hey jr. just wanting to know when in the heck is the wwe going to have a hell in a cell dvd?! that would without a doubt sell like hotcakes..maybe even better! PLEASE ASK VINNIE MAC!

hey jr 1 Dont you think removing kane mask was a mistake from the wwe.I think it really made him stand out and gave him the position he still deserves namely being an "A" player. Now people aren´t attach to him any more even though he still does a good job. 2 Will we see ron killings in the wwe in the future, now that he is released from TNA?

Hey J.R, Quick question....have you read Bret Harts book? If so what did you think? Just wonderin...

You mentioned that you felt Chyna winning the IC title was not a bright day for WWE. What do you think about Mr. McMahon winning the WWF title?

J.R. I agree with you on Bobby Henan, but you forgot anither great manager.J.J.Dillion.I have lost track of him.Do you know what he is doing now days.Allen

Is Val Venus still with the company? He always got huge pops, even his most recent matches. Is there any reason why he is no longer used, or why no push or tv time? The Shamrock, Venus fued was one of my favorite ever

Mr. Ross it is always a treat to read your blogs and I was wondering what you think of Scott Hall and his recent nonshowing of a payperview in TNA. I was wondering do you think he has wasted more talent then anyone else? Then last I wonder do you think he'll ever wrestle again in WWE? Thanks for your time.

Hey Jim, This is Brady Hicks from Pro Wrestling Illustrated. I was wondering if you ever get the chance to check out the tryout matches any more before any of the shows. Specifically I was wondering your thoughts on Bryan and Matt Logan (who wrestled prior to Raw and Smackdown last week), as well as Jason Static, who wrestled Ron Simmons two months ago on Raw. All are - in my opinion - tremendous talents who I have had the great pleasure of working with in recent months. You don't need to hit me back on the blog. I was just curious as to your thoughts. Thanks, Brady

Hey JR, I was wondering with the release of Stone Cold Steve Austin's DVD in a couple of months, have you been interviewed for it yet, or are you not included (which would be preposterous)? Also, now with JBL going to RAW, who do you think has the qualities to be an announcer on Smackdown with Michael Cole? And, with the Royal Rumble a little more than a month away, do you think you will get to call the Royal Rumble match or will they give it to Michael Cole, like last year? I really can't listen to a Rumble match without JR's voice, so I hope the WWE take the correct decision this time around. Take Care.

Hi JR, how are you? concerning Shawn Michaels. He obviously has become, well, very ugly over the years. He looked so fine in the 90ies. Is it a result of painkillers? Brock Lesnar's body changed as well since he quit wrestling, he looks like a human now in my opnion.

J.R.-Happy Holidays to you & yours! What are your thoughts on JBL coming back to feud with Y2J? How do you view the Fiesta Bowl with Oklahoma vs West Virginia? Do you think the recent actions in W.V. will play into the game? Thanks,Mikey.

Whats up JR! I am currently in college now trying to get my B.S. degree but it has been a dream of mine to give wrestling a shot. What kind of advice would you give me if i really wanting to give wrestling a shot? Thanks!

What do you think about the success of Jillian's CD?
