Thanks for stopping by J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q! There is still clean up to be done here in Oklahoma but with neighbors helping neighbors we are all getting along fine even though many of us lost some beautiful trees during the recent ice storm. Many thanks for the comments of concern. Also with all the bad weather here in Oklahoma, our restaurant has been doing some record setting business the past few days which is amazing. Business in our store has been excellent and remember that you still have time to make any of our J.R.’s products fun and unique Xmas gifts or gifts for any occasion for that matter. My family is working over time to insure that your orders are shipped as quickly as possible and our goal is to get all your orders to Federal Express within a few hours of receiving them here on the site. So, don’t burn any more daylight and place your orders today and we will do our absolute best to ship out your order later today or, at worst, tomorrow. Let’s get to some feedback: John- Other than the hair style, I don’t see Kennedy and Ronnie Garvin being too much alike at this time. Garvin was one of the most aggressive men I have personally ever seen in the wrestling biz and if young Kennedy can elevate his aggression to that level then we have a viable comparison to discuss. Kennedy is aggressive but “The Hands of Stone” took aggression to another level rarely approached by most grapplers. T. Adams- Indeed the Raw 15th Anniversary show was like a family reunion of sorts, perhaps a little dysfunctional, and it was great catching up with the “alums” and hearing what they were doing these days. Trish, Lita, and Sunny all looked super and would easily fit fight back into the WWE Diva mix if that was a direction they chose to travel. However, after one has been off the road for a while the challenges of travel often time dissuade one from returning to the biz at least full time. Travel is hell these days. Ness- I have missed Joe Cotton’s Bar-B-Q during my travels to south Texas but I will check it out if I am ever in that neighborhood. I love hearing of and trying new “Q” joints. We have some super Bar-B-Q recipes in our J.R.’s Cookbook of which we still have autographed copies available in our store. Chris- Thanks for giving our Sauces as Xmas gifts and I agree with you that many folks love food items or unique items as gifts for the holidays or any time for that matter. I hope the weather doesn’t prohibit you from checking our our describe my announcing style as “old school” and it is not likely to change at this stage of the game as I am simply being myself…for better or for worse. Terry- The WWE has plenty of material for a Fabulous Freebird DVD but one would assume that it would be after the World Class DVD that is currently and runs its course. If you haven’t checked out that particular release I certainly encourage you to do so. Michael James- Of course I was thinking of Savage and Bartlett when Stone Cold said the “greatest announce team ever on Raw”. You are obviously extremely bright Michael James. Keirn’s Kid- I honestly think that Hulk was simply having some fun at Macho Man’s expense with Hogan’s ad lib during Hulk’s promo on Raw in Bridgeport. From what I can ascertain, there is no love lost between Hulk and Randy….or at least that is what most of us are lead to believe. The ad lib came from nowhere and means nothing substantial to the best of my knowledge. However, it seems to have served its purpose as lots of folks seem to be talking about it…..BROTHER!! Donnie- I have no idea if Chyna was invited back for the Raw Anniversary show but somehow I doubt it. If you miss her that much Donnie check out TMZ TV or VH1 as she seems to get ample exposure on those shows. Plus there is the video she made that you could check out if you dare. For the record, I still think that Chyna winning the IC Title was not a great day in the annals of the biz. Just one man’s opinion. CWK- Obviously you think that the Rock should have been on the Raw Anniversary show but unfortunately he was unable to attend. Several invited individuals were unable or unwilling to attend. As I see it that is there call and we had a lot of fun with those that did attend. I am not a Rock basher nor do I think he owes the wrestling business anything. From communicating with him as I do on a semi regular basis I do know that wrestling is in his blood and that he keeps up as best he can with what is going on but his schedule is overwhelming right now as he is striking while the iron is hot with his movie career. I am proud of his success and feel his contributions to wrestling will stand on their own merit and as most fans do I hold out hope that we will see the “Great One” on a future WWE project. Trenton- Thanks for the kind words. I had a blast last week on Raw but as always I would have loved to have seen more actual wrestling. However I loved the video packages of all the amazing Raw moments and seeing many of the old timers I had not seen in years. JR- Nice name….no I am not homophobic nor do I always bring up Pat Patterson’s name in “harsh” terms in my point of view. Pat is a dear friend and has been a great mentor to me over the years. Brandon- I thought the Ladder Match was the highlight of the Anniversary Raw. You are right in that the Tag Title win by Holly and Rhodes was essentially forgotten after it occurred as the show continued to roll on with other business. Mr. T- Several folks pointed out that HBK and The Rock had been in the ring together with HBK officiating a HHH-Rock bout which I had forgotten. My original point was I did not recall HBK wrestling The Rock but I appreciate so many of you commenting on them “being in the ring together.” Rock vs. HBK would be a match I would love to see but it will never happen except perhaps in a video game. Chris- Glad you enjoyed Raw in Bridgeport in person. Helluva live show it would seem to me. As best I know RVD’s surprise appearance was a “one off” and I know of no plans on Rob returning full time at this time anyway. Who knows down the road? Backlund is always a welcome sight and he only lives a few minutes from Bridgeport. Bob had been a stalwart WWE competitor as the company’s top guy for many, many years. Younger fans who never saw the serious side of Backlund the wrestler should not confuse him with his Mr. Backlund persona. Adam S.- I have no idea what the WWE plans on doing with existing Chris Benoit video footage in the future. I would also be leery of some “internet rumors” regarding this matter as well. Some internet sites even teased that both the Rock and Bret Hart had arrived in Bridgeport last week and whisked into the arena under extensive security. I think you should personally remember Benoit for what ever you choose but remembering him as a future WWE Hall of Famer isn’t likely in my opinion. Interesting fact from my friend and wrestling historian Dennis Brent who is a former magazine publisher in World Class, WCW and the WWE and who may become more involved in our site in the near future…..Mike Rotundo aka IRS who won then eliminated himself in the battle royal on the Anniversay Raw was also the winner of the first match ever on the very first Clash of Champions broadcast on TBS. Rotundo beat Jimmy Garvin on March 27, 1988 in Greensboro on the night that Flair and Sting had a 45 minute draw. There were, as best we can figure, 6 people at the Anniversary Raw that appeared on the first Clash…Rotundo, Flair, Arn Anderson, Barry Windham, and yours truly. For the record, that first Clash had only 5 matches. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bobby Heenan who recently underwent jaw surgery as a result of his cancer treatments of some time ago. I have always said that Heenan and Jim Cornette were the two best ringside managers I ever saw perform and I am sticking with that story. Bobby was one of my first true friends in the WWE when I originally came there from WCW and was considered by many WWE insiders as “the enemy”. Bobby’s amazing wit and uncanny timing has never been replicated and there is no one on the horizon who is remotely close to “The Brain’s” abilities. God Bless you Bobby and get well soon my friend. Happy Holidays every one and thanks so much for your continued support of our products with your orders here on our site. Be well and I will talk to you soon. BOOMER SOONER! J.R.

Hello JR, I have one qustion and one comment for you first the questioh if and when will Bobby Lashly be back in action? Now my comment; I have been a avid watcher of wwe since I was thirteen and after I grew fond of it went back and watched old matches and segments but what I saw on the 01/07/08 show of Raw with Y2J (Chris Jerico) and John Bradshal Layfild that promo was not only apalling but sicking to me to see something that hanes on your show. Im prety sure the general fan base can handle seeing wrestlers being tossed in a river or ocasionly be set on fire but to even attempt to hang some one on live tv? And lets be honest and not forget what happend the weekend of june 22 (weather he was gulity or not). I will still watch your show but lets hope WWE can regain its composure and put some demeaner back into profesional wrestling becuse after what I have seen I dont see the profesional any more. Sincearly, Robert Bechtel
Hey JR, Glad to hear that you didn't lose power during the ice storm. I personally lost power for 5 days, and anyplace i could have gone to see the 15th anniversary was without power too. I wish I could have seen it though, after I read what happened I was upset a bit. As much as I enjoy the show, it's been some time since I was actually anticipating viewing an amazing show, only to miss it. Anyways, keep up the good work and hope to see you at that booth with the King as long as you are able to.
I finally made it out to Oklahoma to see my sister and her family. I must say it was quite a week. First, I was at JR's BBQ for my sister's birthday. I had the chicken and ribs, with the fries, which are quite unique and tasty, I must say. I loved the restaurant and the food. I also went to the Switzer Center and, as luck would have it, we met the team coming back in the cold rain from practice. I got my picture made with Sam Bradford, and wished many of the guys, including coach Stoops good luck in the big game. I also went to an autograph signing of Billy Sims, Jason White, and Steve Owens at RiverWind Casino. I got pictures with all of them and each of the autographs on a football. I also went to Bricktown and took a boat ride and ate at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar and Grill. I'll never forgewt this special week. Happy Holidays to you and your family and hope to catch you next time. Boomer Sooner.
Hey Jr, Maybe it wouldn't matter to today's generation, but I wish Carlito would stop spitting apples, tell the world his last name and tell the world that he's not there to screw around, but to continue on his family's legacy of wrestling. There's a lot more mileage in the son of Carlos Colon coming to the WWE to show the world what the Colons can do than a kid wise-acreing and spitting apples. Maybe his dad should show up on Raw and remind him who he is. Then again maybe I'm booking in my head for the 5 people who care that Colon held the Universal Belt for 400000 years. Would that get people interested in Carlito or fall flat? Inside he has charisma, he just doesn't seem into playing Coach with an apple (no slight to Coach, I love him on WWE and my local sports programing in NYC)
I don't know you're aware of this, but in Powerslam magazine that came out here in England today, there's an interview with Brock Lesnar that is really in depth. Anyway he is blaming Johnny Ace and YOU for his botched Wrestlemania shooting star press. Apparently he hadn't done it for over a year and wasn't comfortable doing it and yet you said the match needs a "Wrestlemania moment" and so he did it. I would like to hear your side of the story, as there's always two sides. Thank you. Admin www.theunprettier.com
Hi, WWE should Hire: LUKE WILLIAMS -WWE Fan
is shawn michaels going crosseyed?
Hi Jr Good announcing as per usual, In all your years of announcing, what has been your favourite period for wrestling?
hi JR. My question is since Jeff will be wrestling randy at the rumble I was wondering when was the last time at the rumble we had champion wrestling a champion?
Hey JR! Longtime reader, firsttime responder...I don't know if you've had the chance to visit Harrisonburg, Virginia in recent years (I know back in the 80s shows came through at the local high school), but if you have, have you ever been to the Bar B. Q. Ranch on US 11? It's a local institution, and I'm curious if you've had the pleasure of their BBQ. Also, what "finishing move" do you think gets the biggest crowd reaction?
hey there jim. just wanted to say that i thoroughly enjoyed the latest shawn michaels dvd. having already read shawn's autobiography there was nothing really new to me on the first disc, but the unseen matches were superb. i particularly enjoyed watching the april 23 2007 raw match of hbk vs cena again... that match, in my opinion, should be match of the year. anyways, take care jim.
Hey, JR, I have some questions for you concerning WWE in general. Seeing Jeff Hardy gget a shot at the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble makes me wonder this: If Hardy beats Randy Orton and wins the WWE title, does he have to vacate the IC title or can he be considered a double champion and if he has to vacate the IC title what do you think will happen so that a new champion is crowned, a Beat the Clock Sprint or a Tournament? Here's my second question: Some friends of mine that watch Raw have told me that with Beth Phoenix as the Women's Champion that she is, and I quote, "like a blonde-haired Chyna as far as in-ring skills go" and I honestly don't think that quote does Chyna any justice as far as how she dominated the Divas like "The Glamazon" is doing now. What do you think of this rather unfair comparison that? Last question, this time concerning Championships: Since there are some talented Divas outside of Raw like Victoria and some talented Cruiserweight wrestlers that fit the weight limit or are close to it like ECW's John Morrison (formerly Johnny Nitro), it makes me wonder if Vince McMahon or whoever's in charge of the Championship angles will do something about it to make them more interesting? I suggest making the Women's and Cruiserweight Championships rotate between Raw, SmackDown and ECW to ensure that wrestlers outside of the brands the titles are currently in get a fair shot at the titles. Maybe we could see Victoria hold the title on SmackDown and lose it on ECW or we could see a Raw Cruiserweight Champion or ECW for that matter. I just hope that you understand my logic behind these two under-the-radar titles, since the WWE Tag Team titles are now owned by ECW Superstars Morrison and Mike "The Miz" Mizanin. The only titles that shouldn't rotate are the World status titles and Raw's IC and World Tag Team titles, but Smackdown and ECW could fight over the US and WWE Tag Team titles, in my most humble and insignificant opinion. I just hope that if you can respond to this that you could mention it to those in authority in WWE and that this could make the SmackDown/ECW agreement more intersting along with making Raw less of an island compared to the other two brands. Merry Christmas to you and your loved ones and may God Almighty bless those who cannot be with their loved ones, like our brave men and women stationed overseas. A big BOOMER SOONER to you! -James
hey J.R. nice to talk to you. I have a question, have u ever been to a Tim Hortons coffee shop in Canada? Just curios lol.. thanks.
PS- Jordan, I agree with you -- to this day I too still laugh whenever I think about Bobby Heenan's April Fools Day joke at the Hall of Fame! I'm going to be a teacher one day, and plan to pull that on my students. God Bless you, Bobby! :)
I want to wish Bobby Heenan a speedy and full recovery as well. Growing up with the WWE in the late 80s and early 90s, Heenan was "my boy," as the hip kids say. JR, now that JBL has left the announcing table, I'm excited to hear that Tazz will be reuniting with Michael Cole. I always found their chemistry to be top-notch. Although I will miss JBL putting down Cole like only JBL can ;)
Hey Jr and would be grateful if you could answer or give an opinion on - 1. Do you think Sid Vicious could make an impact in WWE today? I know that he wants to return and i have heard rumors of him returning and i would love to see him back in WWE. I hope it has nothing to do with Flair and Anderson. Lastly i would just like to say i wish WWE released WCW footage, Bob Sapp is money, I cannot wait to see my favourtie preformer JBL return to the ring and fued with superlative speakers he along with Edge are the best heels in the company.
JR - I am a huge fan of the Undertaker and wondered if there is/will be a book in the works about his life and career. Also, I remember his stint as 'Mean Mark Callous' in WCW. Did you interact much with him in WCW and, if so, what did you think of him back then? Good luck to the Sooners against WVA in the Fiesta Bowl. I think it will be a close game for about 3 quarters, but OU will pull away in the 4th due to superior speed/athleticism on defense. I think the Fighting Illini will give my Trojans a game for a half or so. I see USC pulling away in the 3rd and 4th quarters. Do you have any predictions for the big bowl games? Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family!
J.R., I wanted your opinion on something. I often hear people criticize Jerry "The King" Lawler's wrestling style when he is allowed to wrestle on RAW or even at some of the indy shows he does. However, I seldom hear people criticize Flair or Hogan. I don't hear many people say they are too old. Personally I think Lawler moves around the ring better than Flair or Hogan at this stage in the game and which the WWE would use him more (I would love to see him tag with Flair). What are your thoughts?
What are the chances of Mick Foley vs The Undertaker in a legends match at Wrestlemania?
J.R., when they put the Raw announce table near the entrance earlier in the decade, did they ever give you or anyone else a reason for it?
Hi JR Love reading the blog every week. I'm realy enjoying WWE TV at the moment and with most of the top guys healthy, there is plenty of talent around to keep things fresh. The thing that makes me laugh every week is the Great Khali's translator Ranjan (or is it Ranjit) Singh! I am one of the few who can actually understand what the big man is saying and when Ranjan translates it back, it is never anywhere near what Khali says! A translator who does a very bad job!
Hey JR, I just got WWE 24/7 and am really enjoying it right now, finally got to see the roundable for the first time, on legit Tough Guys, and I only wish I could see the rest now. Sometimes I feel as though there should be more content, but I guess that's only natural. Can you give us an idea of when you might be back to tape a few more and any idea what future subjects might be?
I just purchased and watched The New and Improved DX dvd and i absolutely love it. As I was watching it, i noticed something interesting. Every time there is a "speech" or "promo" in the ring, there is a black box that looks like a subwoofer in the corner of the ring. What is that box for?
Hey JR Hope all is well My question is as follows: Would you have liked to have seen The King as WWE champion? Why was he never pushed to hold a WWF/E title?
thanks for addressing my Chyna questions JR. I really appericate your feedback and respect it. I have one more question do you think Beth Phoniex could match up against chyna?
JR, while watching a ring of honor DVD from 2004 this past week, I noticed they had a "pure title" which I'm not for sure if you're aware of, but the rules for a pure title match are different in that you are only allowed 3 rope breaks a match and no closed fist punches. If you punch someone with a closed fist, it counts as a rope break. Once you use them up, grabbing the ropes cannot save you from a submission move. What's your thoughts on a "pure title" match?
Hey Mr. Ross, who are you supporting for the 2008 Presidential Election. I know its early but the selection process has begun. Additionally, do you think the WWE is less risky now than in the Attitude era because huge parts of the entertainment industry are controlled by big corporations. An early example of this would be AOL Time Warner not allowing WCW to cross very strict and unfair boundaries.
Hey J.R., I have listened to your wrestling commentary all my life and can't imagine wrestling without your announcing. Do you have any plans to retire or to take a break anytime in the near future? Whenever you do retire, who do you think would be a better replacement for you on the RAW broadcasts, Michael Cole or Joey Styles? Also, JBL has confirmed that he is returning in two weeks. Do you think that is a smart decision, considering that JBL has not wrestled for over a year and is out of shape at best (due to his wall st. job)?
What WWE has no love for Oklahoma anymore?? Its been a year and a half for both Tulsa and OKC - are we on the two year cycle now?? I say an Oklahoma WrestleMania is in order - Raw brand in OKC and SmackDown brand in Tulsa!
What is the 411 on Ron Killings will he come back to the WWE if so I wanna see him and John Cena go at it. The WWE in my mind should use Killings to the fullest of his potential unlike last time when he was K-Kwik. What do you think?
Whats up J.R.? Let me start by getting your opinion on my venue and main event for Wrestlemania 25. You have eluded to this, and I think its a great idea, to have WM25 in Dallas at Texas Stadium. My main event is John Cena vs. Undertaker, to fit 100,000 in that baby! I am as big a Cena fan as you'll meet, but I am a bigger wrestling fan. Therefore, I think it would only be right at this point to have Undertaker win, and solidify his undefeated streak at Wrestlemania. What ever happened to having great male managers like Bobby Heenan. I really think a lot of young wrestlers would benefit by being with them. When Flair does lose a match, I hope he becomes a permanent manager, like he was for evolution. Anyways, I hope Heenan gets better, he will certainly be in my thoughts and prayers. I'm just glad i was able to see him in my lifetime at the Hall of Fame at WM22 weekend. I will never forget the April fools day joke he played on everyone, still makes me laugh to this day when I think about it.
Any truth to the reports that Sid was backstage at the anniversary show? And if he was, why was he not given at least a cameo? I would think being a former WWE champion, even if it wasn't during the company's peak, would be enough to warrant some sort of appearance, don't you?
JR, Let's say WWE wanted to merge all three rosters together again and just end ECW on ScFi. Would the USA network and the CW network be willing to give both Raw & Smackdown three hour shows each week instead of the regular two hours? This way more guys wouldn't be fired as a result of a brand merger.
Hey JR, I thought the 15th anniversary show was amazing. I actually enjoyed the battle royal with past Raw Superstars. I thought some of them looked in amazing shape- even better than some of the current superstars(no offense) imparticularly Steve Blackman, Bob Backlaund, and Bart Gunn. Any chance of a return for these guys???
Merry Christmas JR and is OU going to cover?
Hello Friend, I have a special request.I was wondering if you could send an autographed picture to this address before Christmas: Al N Ann's Collectibles 3819 W. Main St McHenry,IL.60050 And could you make it out to Al?It would be a very special gift if you could.I would greatly appreciate it!!!Take Care Hall of Famer.
Oh, I forgot one thing above. Have a "Boomer Sooner" Merry Christmas and a Happy and Safe New Year!
Hey JR! I was at Armageddon this past Sunday. Pretty good PPV. The matches were good, a finish or two didn't sit that well with me. I was also disappointed with two thing, but other than that, I had a great time, it being my first WWE show and all. Sadly, The Great Khali is not "great" when it comes to being in the ring. Unlike big men like Umaga, Mark Henry, and Big Daddy V, he hasn't improved, and his promos stink due to the fact he doesn't speak English and he had to use "Arab Bischoff" as I like to call him (due to how he looks). The rest of the matches were solid. I didn't like how JBL interferred with the WWE Championship match and why didn't he continue with commentary is beyond me? LOL.. I'm not a big fan of starting storylines on PPV's but, oh well I guess. I was disappointed to see that Ric Flair wasn't on the card and didn't make an appearance, as well as "Mr. McMahon" not making an appearance. But I was satisfied overall. Armageddon gets 3.5 out of 5 stars in my book. I was looking to ask YOU a question though, I've been meaning to meet yourself and "King" in person, and was wondering if the next time y'all come to Pittsburgh for a show (Raw, PPV) or whatever, if yourself, or yourself and "King", or yourself and other superstars would do an autograph signing/meet and greet? I love hearing you call Raw each and every Monday alongside your partner "King"! I'm not sucking up, I just love your work. Thanks for taking the time to read this!!!
Hey Jr. Just wanted to wish you and the Ross family a Happy Holiday. Try and spend some time with the family, and don't worry about the BBQ Joint to much, although im sure thats hard to do, as a chef myself i know. On a side note, I know they try hard and give there all, but that Divas Santas Helpers Match on Raw was just awful wrestling wise until the end when "real" wrestler divas Mickey and Victoria were in there. I know its for the eye candy, witch i did enjoy as much as the King, but there were so many botched moves, and inconsistency. I dont know about you, but i miss matches that went longer than 8 minutes.
Hey JR, How are you? I was wondering which color commenator would you like to ahve as a partner, with the exception of The King. I am talking of a dream color commentator that you have never worked with or you have occasionally. cheers
J.R, Just to let you know I bought the Shawn Michaels DVD and found it to be one of the best out there. I am looking forward to Stone Cold's DVD as well as The RAW 15th anniversary DVD. I'll tell you what I'd love to see and that would be a DVD of matches Gorilla Monsoon & Bobby Heenan called together as they next to you and The King were the best announce team in WWE history.I suppose you also heard a Sooners/Hokies bowl matchup was kiboshed by the BCS committee I would love to see some kind of playoff I really think Hawaii got jobbed what do you think?.Merry Christmas to you and your family J.R
Hey J.R I just wanted to drop a comment on Santino Marella, he might not be the best wrestler on RAW but he damn sure puts the e in WWE, every little thing he do is just brilliantly funny all the small details is just pure genius. I know you had to be laughing when he took the stone cold stunner better than any body and gave a salute in the air, I cried laughing. Happy XMAS and a happy new year. and thanks for a great blog.
hey JR I am a big Bruiser Brody fan and since I'm a little young most of the crowd I hang with says who, that said I was wondering if you knew if there were any Bruiser brody matches on the WCCW dvd or if WWE is planning a Brody dvd. I really think if people saw Brody they'd see a lot of current guys or guys they are more familiar with in him Austin, JBL, Mick Foley etc. PS. I really enjoyed the anniversary show
JR, Just wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas and New Year. Thanks for continuing to deliver the goods on Monday nights (well, Wednesday nights here in Australia) along with The King. You mentioned Clash Of The Champions I in your last post. I have an old video of that show and it remains top to bottom one of the best wrestling shows I've watched. It leads me to a question about one of the old NWA "specialty" matches - War Games. Do you think WWE would ever contemplate doing a War Games match on a PPV?
hey JR, just wondering what you think of the commentary on the wwe shows (raw, smackdown, ecw) these days? to me i feel it's not as fun to listen too as it used to be (with all due respect to you guys of course). i mean back in the day when the king was always on heels' side it was funny and so entertaining with the whole bickering going on between you two. but now i find that commentary is biased (on the "good guys" side) in away especially on raw and sometimes on ecw, but on smackdown i find JBL really funny always arguing with cole.
JR, Hulk Hogan drop's the "Ohhhh Yeaaahhhh!" every now and then on interviews out of habit and I doubt he even thinks of Savage when he does it. As you have said, I wouldnt put any stock into it concerning a Hogan/Savage deal any time, plus with Savage being in such a poor way physically, and Vince's mystery hatred towards him, I think Savage fans have no chance of seeing him in WWE again lol. Speaking of Hogan, would you have liked to have seen a Hogan vs Rick Rude feud over the WWF title in 1990? I think it would have been awesome! Thanks, Chris
how do you feel about Ric Flairs current angle and work? seeing flair on raw, or any other time for that matter, still feels like a privilege, both his wrestling and talking and i hope they handle the 'retirement' with as much respect as possible while adding the modern booking aspects. i'll definitely be bummed when flair isn't a mainstay anymore but it was one hell of a ride. i love that his love for what he's doing STILL comes across so clearly every time there is a camera or microphone around.
Hey the RAW anniversary was great last monday night.BTW I heard that over the summer Jerry "The King" wrestled in a match will Cooter from the Dukes Of Hazzard being is tag team partner..Can you shed any light on this? Also Iv noticed for quit sometime that WWE storylines are not at its best.I think they should go back and use some of the story lines from back when wcw was #1 and then combine them with WWE storylines..Iv noticed if its ECW wwe will use there storylines, but if its wcw, there no chance of useing it, and we all know wcw was way better than ecw...I just think they need to reform a nwo or 4-horseman, or do something different...Is there any chance of ever seeing such idea's? chris
JR, I'm very excited, about the World Class DVD! Very few people will appreciate the upcoming release like my Father. When my dad moved to the US from Mexico in '78, he needed his "fix" so his way of getting through a normal work week, was by going to Will Rogers Memorial, on Mondays and Saturdays. The Freebirds captured his imagination much like El Santo, El Mil Mascaras, and others did back in his homeland. The only problem that he had was, that he had to sit in the back, because there was a problem with racism which began to dwindle as the years progressed, especially when Gino Hernandez came into the picture. Once he began taking me to the shows, he had to drive to The Sportatorium, and by then World Class was going down under. When I think about it, I might have been one of the first to witness, Steve Austin, which is weird because I remember rooting for The Rock at Wrestlemania X-7. Nevertheless, I do believe I have found his perfect Christmas present. Keep up the good work, and Hook 'em Horns!
Hey JR - OK I have what I *think* is an original question for you - I haven't seen it posted yet anyway. Beyond the obvious (realizing PPVs last longer than Raws, therefore I'd assume involve more prep time), do you prepare any differently for a pay-per-view broadcast than a Raw broadcast? Or is time commitment the main difference?
