J.R.'s Superstar of the Week - Jeff Hardy (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the black 200X Resistol hat from a man who is tickled to death to return to Oklahoma and 50 degree weather after 72 hours in “chilly” Pittsburgh and Buffalo for Armageddon and Raw, respectively. First of all, from the Ross family to yours, I want to wish everyone a blessed holiday season filled with good health and happy times. We will be celebrating Christmas here in Norman, Okla., with family and friends and it simply doesn’t get any better than that. After Sunday and Monday’s amazing efforts in the ring,  it would seem somewhat obvious who the Raw Superstar of the Week is going to be … the high-flying, charismatic, risktaker who is on a roll … the Intercontinental Champion and No. 1 contender for the WWE Title, Jeff Hardy! Hello Mr Ross, I'm Colin Rice and I'm from Liverpool, England. Firstly, and I'm sure you get this a lot, but I am a huge fan of your work. I think you are the best play-by-play wrestling commentator out there. I just wanted to make a comment, if I may about WWE's Tribute to the Troops. Please correct me if I am incorrect, as I haven't had the chance to see it, but I wondered if WWE could make more mention of the good work that UK troops perform in Iraq, and for the next Tribute show, could WWE perform for the British troops too? I'm sure many of them are WWE fans and would love to see you guys. My apologies if WWE have already made mention of the UK and other Allied troops, but the coverage seems US centred on WWE.com. I think that, being World Wrestling Entertainment, it would only be right. Thank you for reading and I wish you and your family a great holiday season and a Happy New Year. Keep doing what you do best and I hope to see you on Raw for a long time to come! Colin Rice.
Well, JR, I think you're the best, but I have to disagree with you on this one. All due respect, of course. A few years ago, had Jeff received the push he is getting now, I think he would have picked up that ball and ran all the way to the end zone. I really think that following his match with Undertaker for the title, Jeff Hardy could have gone anywhere and been accepted by casual and hardcore fans alike. Today, however, we are seeing a different Jeff Hardy. I don't see the same excitement out of Jeff that I used to. Maybe it's just me, but I really don't see the passion. Forgive me if I am completely wrong about this. I'm not trying to smear the man. I watched his match with HHH. What I saw was HHH busting his hump to put Jeff over, using top-notch match psychology. Hunter sold so well, worked so hard, and--at least in my opinion--Jeff did not return the favor. It appeared as if Jeff was out of gas five minutes into the match. His clotheslines had no force, his moves had nothing behind them. He seemed disinterested in the match, in my opinion. I'm glad Jeff is getting the push, and I hope he can step up to the plate and come up big. But I have yet to see it from him. Your thoughts?
hey jr sup, im the biggest fan of hbk ( bet uve heard tht one b4 ), but him winning cleanly agaisnt kennedy....wasent too pleased by that, i hope kennedy gets a win, even if its dodgy, somewhere soon down the future...also, would u prefer to see hardy be given the title after wm24 or b4 it, since ( in my view ) if hes given the title b4 it hell have to lose it real quick since the wwe will want a more established 'rassler at the main event...unless they have a 4-way or something..what do u think? oh yeh, and i hope they put the us strap on hardy as soon as he comes back
Hey J.R Hope your doin' great! I was suprised at your calling Jeff Hardy charismatic. Jeff is not charismatic what so ever. It's no secret. Jeff fumbles through promos and that is the very reason Jeff has been mid card for so long. Its only now Vince is having to submit to what the fans want. When Jeff gets the title(which he will) I hope its a short reign because a champion needs to have it all and Jeff certainly does not. He was awful against Triple H at the last PPV. Sorry for the negative post. Take care
Hey J.R., what do you think about putting Tammy Sytch in the color commentator's position on Smackdown? I'm sure she would need some training, but she obviously "gets" the business and would probably be very entertaining in the role.
hi jr just thought i would say im i the only one who regonises jeff hardy as shawn michales 15 years ago shawn even had the same title nd this week on raw at the end jeff was like a younger version and also shawn started in the rokers jeff started in the hardy boyz they are very simliar carers hopefuly jeff will be as big as shawn if he isnt already lol from daniel :D
I agree with Roxie! Why are people prasing Kelly so much? She can't wrestle even if her life depended on it, she can't food or catfight, she can't take off her bra or open a can, I wonder how she lives, while there are other talents such as Layla that could be aknowledged for her hard work in and outside the ring, she is too improving, Kelly is not the only one, like Roxie said, and yeah the only time I heard you talked about her is about her winning the 2006 Diva Search, thats about it, it really is unfair to Layla.
jeff hardy rainbow color hair warrior is awesome and extreme.
hi jr im excited about bradshaw coming back to the ring and i love that jeff is finally getting a big push but what about matt i think a fued between him and edge would be great and how come there was no mention that jeff had beating HHH before for the ic title hope to hear from you
Hey J.R., I wrote something on the previous post(WM25), but forgot about this. What are your thoughts on Elijah Burke copying the nature boy's promos. For example: He opens his eyes wide, says "Listen to me!"...you know, things like that. -Hit me back
Why do you feel the need to praise Kelly Kelly, but not Layla. WWE seems to be focusing and praising Kelly when she can't wrestle, she can't food fight, she can't cat fight, she couldn't even take her bra off. The girl with the natural beauty and charisma is Layla, and she too is improving in the ring yet I see you don't make mention of her at all. I don't think you've ever talked about her besides her 06 Diva Search win. It seems unfair and biased in my opinion.
When did the king put out an album? Is it available in Memphis, TN? I find that bit of knowledge amusing, to say the least. In your opinion JR, will we get to see Shawn Michaels and Jeff Hardy as a tag team again sometime in the near future? They make an excellent tag team, and I would love to see more of Jeff and Shawn teaming together. Jeff Hardy = Future WWE Champ Merry Christmas, Ken
Is it true that Shawn's knees are in a very bad condition..Is it true that his career is coming to an end soon?? As far as I know in a recent interview he had Shawn stated that his knee is holding up fine...has something happened since then??? :-(
Two things During the introductions of the Santa helpers match on Raw on Monday, Lilian introduced Kelly Kelly twice. She was introduce as a Member of both teams. One quesion about Ric Flair. If Ric and Umaga had been both counted out How could that had counted as a loss for Ric Flair. Would Lillian had mentioned Umaga as the winner. No If the answer is no How could that had been considered a loss. If Umaga had got back into the ring first and Ric did not then Ric Flair would have loss Whwn ia the WWE coming back to Canada for house shows
What about Ric Flair taking over for JBL on the commentery. He has knowledge and well respected.
1. I recently watched a Flair/Von Erich cage match on 24/7.... and the play by play guy.... was DRUNK! No one can tell me any different! 2. I think I could watch TNA if I didn't have to listen to... Mike Tenay! (Just my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it!) 3. 1-02-08.....Sooner Boy! Let's go Mountaineers! (Yes I live in WV) All in good fun, Merry X-mas all!
Hey J.R. I was curious as to your thoughts on Rich Rodriguez leaving WVU for Michigan prior to the Fiesta Bowl match up against Oklahoma? Growing up in the Morgantown area I am a tried and true WVU fan and feel somewhat betrayed by a coach who gave us his word he was staying. I mean I know money talks, but it seems like had WVU defeated Pitt, none of this would have ever happened? Do you feel this gives the Sooners at least a mental advantage going into the game? Thanks as always!
hi J.R. hows it going? im in england and i watch raw every week and i have notice jerry the king lawlers brilliant t-shirts, i was wondering if you could tell me where he gets them from. thanks
Well, if there was one really outstanding moment from the PPV, it was Jeff Hardy winning a shot at Randy "I am to rest holds what Flair is to knife-edge chops" Orton's title. I'm excited for Jeff and hope Matt heals up and kicks the hell out of that one guy who can't wrestle nor speak on the mic very well at Wrestlemania. Also, big ups to Edge for winning the title again; this should help Smackdown a great deal. Edge was easily the best choice among the three to get the gold. I'm so VERY bored with Batista getting a title shot/run every five minutes. Now, the bad news: CM Punk beaten by two big dumb guys who can't wrestle nor dress appropriately. And he IS the champ, right? When is Mr. Kennedy going to get his due? He was beaten up by Shawn (who clearly had the advantage each and every time) week after week leading up to Armageddon and then beaten at the PPV. HBK's got all the recognition and accolades he needs, meanwhile Kennedy could use a big win. What ever made JBL think he was a Wrestling God when the fact is, the big dumb guy can't really wrestle at all, much less be a wrestling "god." I mean, he finishes with a clothesline. JBL is to the world title what George W Bush has been for the presidency--the worst of all time. Speaking of Jericho getting screwed, I keep asking, when are the Jerichoholics going to get a DVD? Break the Walls Down was a long time ago. Why not give him a two or three disc career spanning tribute? Inquiring minds want to know! And what of Mr. Perfect's DVD? I cannot wait for this! Keep rockin', JR!
