Chris (From Belfast, Ireland)

Hey JR.

I realsie that RAW is the flagship show in the WWE. However, it has been somewhat evident in the way the shows are conducted. SmackDown has many top guys like the Undertaker and Edge, but RAW has undoubtably been given more. Most of the main draws of the attitude era, Austin, Rock, Michaels, Foley and HHH ended up on RAW (even though Smackdown was ‘The Rock’s show!’), and even the main draw of the new generation, Cena, is on there. Sure Batista is a huge guy now, but Cena eclipses him in ‘top guy’ terms.

When Jericho was returning, it would have been brilliant for him to go to Smackdown, who were much in need of a really popular superstar and huge storyline, but he was STILL moved to RAW! He could have had great matches with Edge, Batista, Taker, and even JBL (had he not been moved), but he went to RAW, and now seems to be somewhat of a lost soul, wheras it is almost certain that had he gone to SmackDown, he would still be in the title picture or at least a brilliant storyline where he could excercise his amazing promo ability!

Sure the Big Show got put on SmackDown, but he still shows up reularly in RAW, where his storyline with Mayweather is mostly excercised anyway, so why is it that RAW and Smackdown can’t be treated equally??

RAW sells more PPVs because of its placement on cable and is the longest tenured TV show in the WWE. I enjoy Smackdown, and ECW too for that matter, but absolute parity will never occur because of the subjective nature of the product. Some times the product is damned if you do and damned if you don’t.

J.R. Says

Chris (From Belfast, Ireland)

One of my ultimate idols in this business is the imcompreble Shawn Michaels.

But it seems that he isn’t used properly on RAW. There are too many top guys on RAW, so he can’t get a title run, and is constantly being put in feuds JUST to help other younger guys (with the exception of this Ric Flair one.)

So would it not be better for him to be moved to SmackDown where he could get a couple of title runs again, and even another classic feud with Taker, before he has to retire??

Leading into and including Wrestlemania it would seem to me that HBK is utilized very well and is one of the few talents who doesn’t need a title to be considered a major star. With that said, I don’t think we have seen the last of HBK holding gold some day. He’s an amazing talent.

J.R. Says

Andy from Georgia

Yes sir i have a question , When is the WWE going to put a stop to the storyline between Edge and Vickie ? It’s getting ” Boring and Stale ” !! Also when will Teddy Long get his job back as GM of Smackdown ?

I don’t work in the "storyline" department and as long as it seems to annoy people like you I would suggest they will maintain it until they feel otherwise. That’s sort of the idea.

JR, when Raw or a PPV is over what time do you usually leave the arena? Does any type of post production take place? It would be intresting to know what goes on after the cameras stop rolling and all the fans are leaving,,if you guys still have things going on or what? Thanks take care!

I am usually with the King and in our car within a half hour or less after the show ends. We are not involved in any post event meetings unless there is a need to address our work.

Hey JR. My questions is pretty simple. Who do you see being inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame first, and why: Macho Man Randy Savage, Bruno Sammartino, or Chris Benoit?

Keep up the good work.

Chris

Great question with no concrete answer but if I had to guess I would suggest the great Bruno Sammartino. He would be my choice.

J.R. Says

Hey, JR! I’m a wrestling fan in-general, so I watch TNA, but not to the extent that I watch WWE programming. In my opinion, it would seem as though TNA is channeling the same fatal mistakes that took WCW to the mat, and never let it back up. They’re hiring former WWE talent that has been fired, so they’re outcasts so to speak. With the occasional exception of guys and gals like Kurt Angle. As well as the hiring of the DREADED Vince Russo! Dixie Carter needs to learn from Ted Turner’s mistakes and take a page from Vince McMahon’s book from the late 1990’s if they really want to compete with “th big dog”. I’m afraid that if they don’t, they’ll become another casualty like WCW and ECW. Do feel the same way?

PS: I WOULD really LOVE to see TNA pick up it’s game and be able to compete on the same level as WWE. As you’ve said in the past, competition is great, example (Monday Night Wars). They just need to promote their own talent and home-grow them instead of using “has-beens” like WCW did.

It would not be fair for me to diss TNA’s creative as I hope they succeed in what they are trying to do. I am a wrestler’s guy and the more places the wrestlers have to work and earn a living the better. However, all wrestling programs could stand to enact the less talk, more wrestling philosophy, in my view.

HI JR , HOPE U R DOING WELL. JUSTONE QUESTION PLEASE, WHATS MORE BETTER HAVING THE CROWD IN THE PALM OF YOUR HANDS AND LIMITED WRESTLING SKILLS OR NOT BEING ABLE TO CONNECT WITH FANS AND GREAT IN RING PRESENCE ? THANKS AND STAY HEALTHY.

The money is in having the crowd in the palm of one’s hands so that they have made anemotional investment in the wrestler’s persona. However, there has to be a little steak with the sizzle, too.

J.R. Says

Hi J.R.

A quick comment and a question. Long time fan 20 years plus. Any plans to come to Cincinnati anytime soon? Where do you like to eat when in the Queen City. You should go to The White House Inn. It is about a half hour north of downtown, so I’m sure it is tough to drive that far on a tight schedule. Hope to see you in Cincinnati some time soon. WHO-DEY!!! I am going to get some sauce from you soon as well. Take care

I am not sure of our next Cincy trip, but I usually try to get by the Montgomery Inn and a Skyline Chili location while there.

Thanks for the update. I have Cox Cable and DirecTV so I am indeed a TV junkie.

Hi J.R once again thanks for answering my first question it was an honour. I was just wondering, are there any plans for yourself to bring out an autobiography? If so would it be completely uncensored? Or would you have to factor out certain details or ‘edit’ some of the content? I would like it if it was no holds barred because even then I know you wouldnt be controversial you just speak the truth and wouldnt be out for sales alone. What do you think?

If I ever do a book, I will tell the truth.

J.R. Says

Mike

Hey J.R.,
I know you get all kinds of questions from people about how to get a job with the WWE, and the standard answer is that you don’t work in HR. I’ve been a wrestling fan nearly all of my life and am a History major about to graduate. I don’t try to be one of the “smart” fans (because they can be REALLY annoying sometimes), but I’m constantly relating wrestling stories and histories with friends or to new fans and was wondering, is there such a position within the ranks at WWE corporate as a wrestling historian? I guess they’d be someone that researches the facts here and there that the announcers, like yourself and King, use (stats, etc.)… I was just wondering if something like this exists, so I can send my resume in for it. Thanks for your time and all you do for the business!

Researchers often work in the TV production end of the business and at times in the creative aspect of the presentation. Knowledge of the product and its origins is a good thing.

J.R. Says

Yuriy

Hi JR… I will be in attendance at the Backlash PPV in Baltimore and wanted to know if there is any particular hotel(s) that the wrestlers stay at or any particular restaurant(s) wrestlers eat at. Thanks and keep up the great work with the site

I don’t know where we are staying, but I do remember staying at the Omni near the arena occasionally.

J.R. Says

Chris Hagler

Hey J.R. First of all, proud to say you’re my favorite announcer, always have been. I would like to ask 3 questions.
1. What’s the chance of Kennedy getting gold around his waist, I think he is a great talent and excellent on the mic. He deserves the title, as the same three guys sharing it gets old.
2. Same question for Finlay. WCW didn’t use the man to his full potential. He’s tough, fun to watch, and just plain mean at times.
3. Same old question as everyone else asks….I realize we’ll probably never see Savage in the WWE, but why can’t he be in the Hall of Fame, just a quick ceremony as the other superstars get to acknowledge the man’s great presence in wrestling history and to satisfy the fans, the ones who loved him. I realize the man is a nutjob, but he is still deserving. Thanks.

I see Kennedy as a title holder in the future. His career path is still being developed, but he has a noticeable upside. Finlay isamongst the last of a dying breed. A man’s man who can wrestle with anyone and provide a great match. Titles for Finlay? Why not? I don’t address Savage questions anylonger as we have worn that one out…smooth out.

J.R. Says

Shawn

Hi JR, do you think that Sting is the greatest wrestler to not ever wrestle in the WWE? Also, at nearly 60 years old Hulk Hogan is still the biggiest and most loved wrestler ever, who do you feel comes the closest to connecting with the crowd like him?

I think a good argument could be made for Sting. I am sure that there are others but Sting is definitely on the list of which you speak. Hogan is an icon, but many wrestlers have connecting well with their audiences over the years. Hogan doesn’t have the exclusive on that one….brother!!

I was wondering, How would a Senior in High School that Doesn’t know if he wants to go to college or work instead, and that has had Juvenile Rhuematoid Arthritis would be able to get a job as like a General Manager of Raw or something in wrestling. Why I ask, I love wrestling and I wouldn’t be able to meet the physical requirements to become a wrestler. Just wondering if there is something in the wrestling biz for people like me???

Go to college and take drama, speech and acting classes. Don’t give up on your dreams.

JR in one of your questions you said if a fan goes to the hotel u will likely sign an autograph for him.. RAW is coming to Toronto and although tickets aren’t on sale yet, when RAW comes in may i WILL be there. So my question is, what hotel do you guys usually stay in, in Toronto? cause I’ll be there looking for an autograph!

We have stayed at many different hotel in TO but if you see me at a hotel I will definitely sign your autograph.

hey jr)just my reaction to tna’s stone cold shark boy and black machismo.ok.we get the joke.can we move on?.hope your eye has been getting and feeling better sir

Those gentlemen are just trying to get noticed. The question is they unfortunately come off as a comedy act, albeit entertaining, and will be sternly challenged to ever be in a position to main event a PPV utilizing those persona’s. I have no issues with their portrayals.

J.R. Says

When do you think that Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, and Davey boy Smith will be put into the Hall of fame

Could see one of them go in next year but all three won’t go in at the same time would be my guess.

Hey J.R.!

I was wondering if there was a chance a televised WWE event will ever be held in Saskatchewan.

There is always a chance, but I haveheard nothing of this matter.

Jr, fan all of my life. I have a few questions. What do you think of the idea of a Carlito Carribean Strap Match? My roomate brought up the idea to me and thought it was insane that they have not done one with him yet. Also does the WWE have any intern programs? Lastly when your in Boston is there a particular hotel you stay at. Next time you are in town we want your autograph on some JR products. Thank You, Jay

That’s what we need….MORE gimmick matches.

J.R. Says

Casey

Hey Jr,

When do you think we’ll all get to see a real Taker HBK match again? Wrestlemania 25 maybe? please?

That’s a possibility one could assume, but no matter where and when it happens I want to be there to see it.

J.R. Says

Bushwhacker Mark

Hey JR
I remember as a kid watching Earthquake squash Damien, Jake Robert’s snake, although i assume it was faked, they portrayed it quite real and believable, more so than Bossman feeding “Pepper” the dog to Al Snow. Do you think that with all the nutcase animal rights activists out there that the WWE could do an angle where an animal was portrayed to be killed or harmed????, or would that bring too much heat nowadays????

No animals were harmed in the tapingof these incidents. I don’t think it today’s politically correct marketplace it would be too advisable.

J.R. Says

Bushwhacker Mark

Why did Umaga squash Harry Smith in two minutes???, i have seen harry wrestle numerous times and he is no Barry Horowitz or Mike Sharpe

What’s wrong with Horowitz or Sharpe? Smith has a long, productive career ahead of him and losing quickly to Umaga isn’t going to curtail that.

J.R. Says

Hi JR, I just want to start off by saying that I think it is great that you answer Q & A’s for fans. It really shows that you are a true fan of the business. On to my question, I was wondering what your thoughts are on the internet wrestling sites that are out there. Do you think they hurt the business, or are good for business? I don’t mean sites ran by 10 year olds, but I mean credible sites such as PWInsider.com. I regularily visit PWInsider.com, and I rememeber Coach even mentioning the site on one of his Coach Casts on wwe.com years ago. I understand back in the pre-internet era, alot of the business was more discreet. But now with things being disclosed on the internet before they even happen, one would have to assume that Vinnie Mac can’t be happy about it. What are your thoughts?

The Internet sites don’t hurt the business. Some of them actually do a really nice job with their sites and work diligently to post accurate info. Each reader has the choice to agree or disagree with their opinions, just like here.

Hi J.R.!!
I’m a HUGE fan of the WWE. Been watching ever since wrestle mania 6. I was just wondering why the intercontinental championship hasn’t been defended at wrestlemania since wrestlemania 18?? I love the intercontinental belt and the united states belt and love to see rivalries and title defenses for those.
Also, the money in the bank ladder match is great to watch, but I feel as though it takes away a lot of good superstars that you could have really great matches with. I was wondering how many more years the money in the bank will be at wrestlemania?

I really enjoy the MITB Ladder Match concept. However, I too think the IC Title should get some love at Wrestlemania.

J.R. Says

Hey JR.

I know your not to fond of Lex Luger but he still has captured fans minds. He was a way better heel then a face since he like to over sell stuff all the time. But after hearing about his stroke and his paralysis, what else could possibly go wrong with his body? Are we on the verge of another pro wrestler death with more media lies about steroid problem when its more then just steroids that play a factor?

I may not be close friends with Luger, but I certainly wish him no illwill and hope he is blessed with good health sooner than later. How in the world could I or would I want to predict anyone’s death for goodness sakes?

J.R. Says

You’ve mentioned several times here about your 2nd JR’S Bar-B-Q opening in mid-April or so in Moore. Just where is this going to be? I’m familiar with the area but haven’t gone searching for it.

Thanks!

On the west side of I-35 near the new, huge multiplex movie theatre.

J.R. Says

Hello, hope you are well. Just a few questions really. What happened to the concept of groups? If there is a lack of main event talent doesn’t it make sense to package wrestlers together ” The whole is greater than the sum of its parts” type of thing.

Oh and also why is it so hard to find people with personalities, we had the rock and Austin who could stand there and talk, quick witted and sharp. The only people there seem to be now are Shawn and HHH, natural performers. Just as you train your athletes can’t you send them to acting classes or something. I mean Randy Orton? Even if you can’t admit it, you must know on screen he’s just so very dull.

Thanks

ps keep up the good work and stay excited as you and the king are carrying the show right now

I too like factions but there has to be a common thread amongst themthat ties them together. I am not a fan of sending wrestlers to acting classes as they either have "it" or they don’t.

J.R. Says

lateddie

hey jr,
i have noticed that you repeatedly call Orton, Edge & Kennedy “talented”, i agree with you 100%, they are the future of this business. but another thing that i noticed was that you never say “talented” for cena or batista, is that done purposely or just simply co-incidence?

Coincidence. Cena and Batista are both main event talents whose best days are still ahead of them in my view just as it is for the aforementioned wrestlers.

J.R. Says

JR,
I was watching the Bash 1987 and that first Wargames match JR You called a HELL OF A MATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What are your memories of that match and what are your thoughts on the List This Greatest Tag Team List……

Thanks for the compliment. It is hard to believe that event was 21 years ago.It was a new concept that had a ton of personal issues and talented men on display.Dusty Rhodes came up with that brainchild. There are many tag teams that I loved watching including the Brisco Brothers, The Funks, Midnight Express, Rock ‘n Roll Express, Horsemen, and LOD. That’s just toname a few.

There is no doubt in my mind that yesterday’s greats, the real, true main eventers, would be great today and would be making agreat deal of cash.

J.R.
There will be no lampooning from me regarding your pet. You are from from alone in having a very strong bond with a 4 legged family member. When we lost our dachshund “Duke” a few years ago unexpectedly, it was as devestating as losing a close friend. Any insensitive cretins who want to mock this have sadly never known the joy of having a “child pet” and they are poorer for never having the experience. If there is an afterlife for pets, I bet Molly and Duke are probably sharing some funny stories about their respective owners and remembering how much they were loved.

Thanks!

JR,

I just have one simple question. Why in God’s green Earth are the Freebirds not in the Hall of Fame? I’m a huge mark for the territories and no one did it better that Hayes, Gordy and Roberts. PERIOD.

The ‘Birds definitely deserve to be in the WWE HOF and hopefully next year in Houston they will get the nod. They would certainly get my "vote".

hi, J.R., i’m a fan of wwe from China, do u think wwe will have any plan for China in the future?
i think umaga gave some amazing performances recently, he is one of my favourite stars right now, i really hope he can get a better chance. (maybe he can be retrained by his family, hall of famer, rock’s father & grandfather or sth. like that)

The WWE has HUGEplans for China and within a few years I can see China as a major area for WWE live event touring.

Hello JR:

I have been a fan of yours since the Mid-South days.

I have been watching since the Leroy McGuirk days.

Just wondering if you ever have any contact with the great

Danny Hodge? I was wondering how he was doing. I bet he

is still in great shape even though he is getting on in

years. Thanks for your time.

Jesse L.

I see Danny a few times a year and saw him recently at an OU wrestling dual. He looks great, seems to be in excellent health for a man in his early 70’s and can most likely whip the vast majority of the wrestlers earning a living in the business today.Danny Hodge is one of my heroes and is the greatest living wrestler on earth.

J.R. Love the website. Love the Q&A and I’m thankful for your honesty, something that I think was curtailed by the “higher-ups” when you used to post on WWE.com on Fridays.

But my question is what happened to the WWE (Vince & co.) listening to the fans? Jeff Hardy has to be one of the most “over” guys on the roster, and him winning the title would have been a great ending at the Royal Rumble, but instead we have a quick blowoff ending screwing Jeff. In my opinion he his cheered for louder than Cena or HHH. But yet it looks like the belt is going back on HHH waist, why? Because he’s the boss’ Son in Law? I guess they don’t listen to their fans anymore.

I guess folks were wrong about the theory ofHHH winning at ‘Mania.

J.R. Says

T.J.

Hey J.R. - I’m a big fan of your blog, and thanks for doing it! I’m wondering about Gregory Helms … he’s been a sentimental favorite of mine for a while, and I was told that his return was nigh but I just haven’t seen anything about it recently. Will he be back soon? More importantly, might we ever see the return of “The Hurricane?” I think the ‘Cane was one of the most entertaining characters ever devised, and that’s the name of the business, right?

I saw Gregory in Orlando recently at WM24, beard and all, and he is looking good but is still a few months away from returning to the ring.Gregory is a bright young man who loves the business and is one of the more underrated talents I can name.

JR,

Always great to read your blogs and the Q&A’s. I appreciate the time you put into answering questions for us fans, so those who have issues with your method of doing so should surf another website, after they have bought some delicious BBQ sauce of course. I recently recieved my shipment of JR’s BBQ sauce and I must say it is awesome with a nice punch. I’ll be sure to order more when it runs out.

2 questions for you if you dont mind:

1) In reference to the Benoit content on 24/7, do you think that by the time the Monday Night Wars reaches the point where the Radicals show up that it will not be edited out? It was another one of those great jumps from one side to the other and it would be a shame to lose out on that content.

2) Not sure if you were in charge of the talent roster at this point or not, but did you have any dealings with the big 3 when initially bringing the nWo into the WWF/E back in 2002? Also, was the turn on Hogan at the end of WM 18 planned or was that spur of the moment because of the reaction he had gotten throughout the match with Rock.

Thanks JR.

Shaun

The Benoit content will eventually return to the airwaves I think. Ric Flair mentioned Chris in Ric’s HOF speech. Just give it time. I was knee deep in the talent department when the nWo came to the WWE. Our fans dictated thehappenings at WM18.

J.R. Says

hey what’s up again J.R.! Thanks for answering my question last week about Cena. I was initially gonna ask you about the Jr BBQ sucks sign in the crowd sign last week, but somebody already got to it. Once again it pisses me off how the fans just do stupid things for attention these days, such as booing Cena just to be cool, but what can you do? Anyway, my question is where does Cena rank to the best of your knowledge in merchandise sales on an all time level? I know Stone Cold (My all time favorite) is pretty much untouched in this area and I know Hogan (who i respect for his accomplishments, but i am more of a Flair guy) and Rock (My other all time favorite, they were both just so damn entertaining)are probably right up there with him, but Cena(who may I add is starting to become one of my all time favorites) has proven to be quite the merchandising presence himself these last few years despite the controversy surrounding him. I am just curious how close he ranks to the three biggest stars the business has ever seen?

Stone Cold is the unchallenged merchandise king of the WWE, but Cena does sell a helluva lot of goods. Rock did well in this area too but so have others including obviously Hogan, Savage and Warrior.

J.R. Says

Johnny

Jr, what do you think of the WWE.com list of the ten greatest tag teams, and who do I complain to? Only mildly kidding. What is your opinion of the list with no Midnight Express, Rock n Roll Express, Dudleys, etc? Thank you for everything you do.

Without those teams, the list is incomplete to me. Just one guy’s opinion.

J.R. Says

Had a couple of quick questions.

1. Do you look back fondly upon your old Mid-South/UWF days?
2. What did you think of Cowboy Bill Watts (ahead of his time, head in the clouds…)
3. How is Dr. Death? Haven’t heard anything about him in a while.

I loved the Mid South experience and what I learned from Cowboy Bill Watts. Watts was a tough minded, Vince Lombardi-like boss who was way ahead of his time. Doc is cancer free, thank God, and is a personal trainer in Colorado and still wrestles occasionally. Doc is a beloved guy in the Ross household.

Out of curiosity, which wrestlers smoke cigarettes? As A viewer you’re used to seeing the wrestlers on television, so you would never know if someone smoked or not. You don’t have to name every smoker, just throw out some big names… I guess.

Though I have not watched much wrestling in the last several years, back when I was a big fan I remember watching heel characters that did not always cheat to win in order to get over as a heel. Sure they did cheat plenty, but I remember heels like Hennig, Savage, and HBK chalking up plenty of clean wins and letting their in-ring personalities (strutting, talking smack w/o cheating) get them over as the bad guy. It seems that nowadays, nearly every time a heel gets a win its due to hitting someone with a foreign object or outside interference. Due you think it hurts the credibility of a heel’s in-ring skills (and thereby the product itself) if they are so rarely allowed clean victories? After all, most of these guys will turn face at some point, and the idea that someone who used to have to cheat to win any match all of a sudden is now good enough to win within the confines of the rules always kind of nagged on me. Thanks.

Heels need to cheat to gain unfair advantages but it should be no sin to lose to another wrestler’s finishing hold.

hello jr im from romania..first of all i want to say i love what you’re doing in wwe ..you’re really awesome!i want to ask you 3 questions: 1.is wwe planing in future to come to romania because wrestling is growing really fast here and you’re gathering lots of fans?i would really like to see a live show in bucharest!
2.who do you think would win the triple threat match between triple h, john cena and randy orton?
3.is dx coming back?

I am unaware of the WWE’s plans for Romania but it would not surprise me to see the WWE there one day.I don’t know the TV situation in Romania. As wenow know Orton prevailed which surprised me and I have heard of no pending DX reunions.

JR,
I’m 47 years old. When I was growing up in OKC I loved to watch Leroy McGuirk’s wrestling promotion. The legendary TV/Radio guy Danny Williams was the wrestling announcer. Did you ever have the opportunity to work with him?

I never worked with Danny but I have met him and remember his signature sign-off line of "Watch out for flying chairs!" He’s still doing morning radio in OKC.

What do you think about a New Nation with MVP, Shelton,Burke,Mark Henry, and Big Daddy V? Also could you ask King Jerry Lawler what ever happened to The Macho Warrior Ric Hogan from the latter days of USWA?

Remakes fail more often than not. If the men you mentioned formed a group it should have its own identity.

J.R. Says

Hi JR,
I have heard rumored on Wrestling News World website that Mr. McMahon has ask the commentators to try a different approach to commentating matches. I heard that Mr. McMahon wants the commentators to talk more about the storylines than calling wrestling holds and maneuvers. Is this true?

The announcers are largely talking less and are focusing more on the stories and not on every individual move and hold.

J.R. Says

Canadian WWE Fan

Hi JR,
Long time fan. Quick opinion/question: I’d like to see Wrestlemania Main Events being the top 2 wrestlers from their respective brands going at it for the respective titles. Having a triple threat is a cop-out. I don’t like triple threats much anyways. What do you think?

This year’s Triple Threat was a damn good match but I prefer to see one on one’s for the title at Wrestlemania.

J.R. Says

Hey JR, a fellow Okie here. Was wondering 3 things….

1. Have you considered opening a restraunt on the northside of Oklahoma County or are you staying south? You know how Oklahoma roads are. Once the ride is over you’re still shaken.

2. Is there going to another PPV or Raw event here withen the near future?

3. Is there any big plans for Kane withen the future? It’s a shame, but respectful, to see a guy with his talent be used only to put guys over.

We are open to expanding north of OKC and are always looking for locations. We have also discussed Midwest City, Yukon, Tulsa and Lawton.

I agree, most things about their performance was 100% but I didnt quite get their ring psychology like I could with Bret’s and Michaels, the hart’s v demolition or indeed, surprisingly, the macho king vs the ultimate warrior (sic) of course an honorable mention must go out to the Sensationial queen - Miss Sherry.
Who, in your opinion jr, was the best ring psychologist you have ever seen?

How do you judge a best feud ever? I don’t think I can as I sit here. It’s all too subjective. Flair’s ring psychology was pretty awesome. The greatest number of ring psychologists were products of the territory system.

JR. How could I get a taste of your ribs out here in California? I am pretty proud of my personal recipe and would love to see if your’s is better than mine. It would be great if we could get good ole Jr’s bbq in Cali. What do you think?

I would love for an owner/operator to someday franchise J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q Restaurant. That’s the goal. If Colonel Sanders can do chicken why can’t ol J.R. do his "Q"?

Hey JR, I enjoy the site and I love it alot. Iam a huge wrestling fan, especially when it comes down to the biggest main events like Wrestlemania. But my question is: Since you have seen Cena’s negative reaction he is getting from the crowd, do you see John Cena getting his gimmick changed back to his old one soon?

I would suggest that we will see no changes in John Cena’s persona any time soon.

Hi J.R. I recently watched the Stone Cold DVD’s and found something interesting. I have only watched Wrestling for four years (every show since Wrestlemania XX though, and as much history as I could get my hands on) and I was amazed by how great some of Stone Colds early matches were, both as tag and singles. The match that was showed with Ricky Steamboat had such high quality that it would elevate anyone to main event status by todays standard, and we rarely see that nowadays. When I judge wrestling abilities I mainly look at their timing, and few people of today has “it”, why is that?

Speaking of timing, please give your comments on the recent matchups between Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho, which I think even surpased the match between Hardy and HBK. For pure in ring storytelling I think they, together with Kennedy and Orton, is more than welcome to main event as many PPV’s as possible for years to come.

Why don’t more have "it"? Why isn’t there more Michael Jordan’s? Because special performers only come around a few times in a lifetime. Hardy and Jericho have excellent chemistry and hopefully we haven’t seen the last of them wrestling each other.

hey JR i have been watching the WWE and the WWF ever since i was about 5. Well no i am 15 so it has been about 10 years and i have really gotten into the WWE more then i was when i was younger and i am even thinking of trying to pursue a carer in the wrestling business and tips on what i should do?

Go to college Chris and get an education. Getting into wrestling with no education these days is not smart. Plus it is almost impossible to do.

I’ve become a big John Cena fan because I like watching him in the ring, but because I can also see how well he represents the business outside the ring. Having never met him, I don’t know if he really is the class act he appears to be (though I have no reason to doubt him), my question is, in your view, is Cena the kind of person you would want representing the company if you were still running it?

I never"ran the company"I only managed the talent side, but without question John Cena is a leader and is reliable as anyone ever on the roster. John is a great role model for any wrestler and is the class act that he appears to be. He has also made over 100 Make A Wish wishes come true which is a priceless trait.

JR,

For years in both the Ross Report and this Blog, you have espoused the importance of and promised an eventually larger spotlight on the Light Heavyweight/Cruiserweight division.

What started in stride in 1997, lost fire-power soon after, seemingly got revived in 2002, and then once again lost its way.

Now that the WCW/WWE Cruiserweight title is officially defunct, what is your general feelings on the fate of the division?

It is what it is. There is no demand for it internally, so it is shelved. As the King would say, "One can’t grieve forever."

If JBL were to retire again and go back to announcing, what do you think about working with him on RAW? King could go to Smackdown. You two were a great pair, but a new partner like JBL could really freshen things up in my opinion.

I would not want to trade King for anyone but if the corporate decision was made to put JBL on RAW with yours truly there wouldn’t be too many dull moments. John is a talented talker without question but putting two southern drawls together might not be a desired corporate fit.

Loved your shared memory of how Gordon Soile battled the flu.
I’m old enough to remember the gravelly-voiced wrestling host fondly. If he ever gets to the HoF, I hope you do the induction.
As far as your performance last Monday, A sick JR beats other announcers at the top of their game!

An honor, brother!

The Dean made it to the HOF as we all now know and deservedly so. He put me on my path. Thanks for the kind remarks.
