Bar-B-Qed Feedback Frenzy.. Gift Buckets Are Rocking.. J.R.’s Nuts Are A Peanut Lovers Delight.. Ricky Bobby Lawler.. J.R. Rumor

Posted in:
Nice short trip from Norman to Topeka, Kansas for Monday Night Raw this week. Thanks to Southwest Airlines, yours truly was back at home, in Norman, by 8 a.m. Tuesday! I actually thought about driving the 300 miles, one way, which would have been a lay-up in the territory days, but opted out… thank goodness. King rented a Dodge 300, or something to that affect, as his rental car this week and let me tell you that the Hemi-powered vehicle was fast… really fast. I thought I was riding with Ricky Bobby of Talladega Nights fame for a while there on the flat, Kansas interstate. Jerry said the car had more power than the Corvettes he has owned. Too damn fast for me, nonetheless. As you can tell our webmaster is doing lots of work on our site. We apologize for any inconveniences this construction may have created. Please send us your feedback and suggestions on the site as we want to locate the bugs and make all the improvements that we can as quickly as we can and you can certainly be a big asset in that process. How do you like our Gift Buckets?? We think that these uniquely packaged items will make not only great holiday gifts but fun gifts for any occasion. Be sure and stop by our store and check out all the specials we have for you. Order them now in time for the holidays worldwide. Hey kids, have you heard about “J.R.’s Nuts”?? We are getting in the peanut business which I think is absolutely super. I love to snack on great tasting peanuts especially with a cold beverage. Oklahoma has many peanut farms and we are getting our peanuts fresh and directly from the growers. These too make awesome gifts so take a look at “J.R.’s Nuts” before you leave the site for the big news on our new peanut business! HUGE football game for Oklahoma this weekend in Lubbock, Texas as the Sooners face off with the dangerous and offensive minded Texas Tech Red Raiders. The Sooners are favored by 9 points or so but I will tell you that this game is going to be a dog fight. It is going to be televised on ABC Saturday night in prime time. Check your local listings. This is a massive challenge for OU as Tech always gives the Sooners fits and I expect this Saturday night to be much of the same. I don’t have a “peaceful, easy feeling” about this one I can guarantee you that. I am hoping to be in Lubbock on Saturday night and then arrive in Miami Sunday for the Survivor Series. The 21st Survivor Series is Sunday in Miami on pay per view. It is hard to believe that this is the 21st edition of the annual, November classic from the WWE. It is shaping up to be a really solid event and I assume that all 3 broadcast teams will be utilized more than ever as there are many bouts with all three WWE brands involved. When 6 talking heads are all trying to cover one bout, it often times becomes a “malfunction at the junction” and can be a train wreck but at times an entertaining train wreck to say the least. Someone pointed out to me that an internet site reported that my contract with the WWE had expired a few weeks ago and that I was working without an agreement with the company. That is not true. Bar-B-Qed Feedback: John- What is lacking in today’s wrestling marketplace? Several things could possibly be mentioned but one thing that seems to be universally discussed is the lack of “stars”, especially “stars” who can step in the ring and put us on the edge of our seats with their fundamental skills, physicality and ring psychology. See why the territories were so important? Mark- Do YOU think that Jim Neidhart deserves to go into the WWE Hall of Fame as a single wrestler? Why are there all the Neidhart questions all of the sudden? Jim’s best work was in the Hart Foundation for my money. Kerry- The WWE owns virtually all the Magnum T.A. footage, except for Mid South Wrestling, and I think telling Terry Allen’s story would be compelling TV and would make for a helluva DVD. Time will tell but I personally like the concept. Freakyfan 10- To me the best finishing maneuvers are those that are executed quickly and “out of the blue”….so I like “Sweet Chin Music” and the “RKO”. Jake- I have heard of no details on an upcoming Brian Pillman Memorial Show in Cincy but would be interested to hear of such if they are materializing. Les Thatcher is a wonderful man and is certainly in my personal HOF. Kam- We have no plans at this time to add a Philly Cheesesteak to our Bar-B-Q menu. For the record, ol’ J.R. really enjoys a great Philly Cheesesteak from time to time. Jack- I have heard zilch about D’Lo Brown returning to the WWE any time soon. D’Lo has been wrestling in Japan and has always been a guy I liked being around. I wish him well no matter where he lands. DeanUK- Santino Marella is a talented talker, albeit somewhat agitating at times, but entertaining nonetheless. As I have said before, Marella has been a positive addition to Monday Night Raw. Jarrod- As Eddie Guerrero mentioned in his autobiography, I had strong words for him after he continued to make significant errors in judgment regarding his personal life. I did tell him once that he was embarrassing his family with his conduct and I meant it. Eddie and I talked about that many times afterwards and he said it helped him “wake up”. Whether it did or not, I am proud that Eddie got past his demons and became the man later in his life that he always wanted to be. No one had a better heart than Eddie Guerrero, who was a genuinely good person. Ironically, Eddie’s wonderful heart tapped out on him much too soon. Warren- I do not recall Dan Severn ever being strongly considered as a potential Steve Austin opponent, but certainly if Severn’s popularity had grown that match might well have been made. Severn vs. Shamrock was discussed but that did not materialize either for a variety of reasons. Dan Severn is a class act and was a credit to the WWE locker room while he was with the company. Tyler- The city of Buffalo, N.Y. isn’t going to allow the Bills to relocate to Toronto, but I can certainly see where the Bills organization needs T.O. to help them fund the Bills and help the team become more profitable. Toronto is a great city and I can see the Bills doing well there at the box office, on occasion. Lee- Chris Masters did have a great future in the WWE until personal errors in judgment changed such. Masters would have been well served to have been able to wrestle in territories for 3-5 years before debuting in the WWE, but that was not the case. My advise to Chris would be to wrestle as often as he possibly can with the best opponents he can and focus on his bell-to-bell skills and most of all, be healthy. However, if the true passion is not there for the business within Chris, he is still young enough to be successful in other walks of life. Dave- Mark Yeaton, a former referee and ring crew member, is the individual who is so adept at throwing cold cans of beer to Stone Cold. Mark is now working in the operations side of the WWE and is a long time employee. Danny- Obviously, you are a huge Ultimate Warrior fan which is fine by me. But as far as Warrior returning to a WWE ring do, we know if Warrior is interested in such a return? Would Warrior do well for a special appearance in the WWE? Most likely, but I’m thinking that ship has sailed for all involved. But then again, perhaps not. Justin- The Raw vs. Smackdown 08 video game is truly amazing and I wholeheartedly encourage all gamers and wrestling fans to check it out as soon as possible. I have long suggested that a “Legends” video game would be awesome….seeing Bret Hart vs. Stone Cold…..Superstar Billy Graham vs. Dusty Rhodes….Bruno vs. Owen Hart…The Rock vs. Harley Race…The Rock ‘n Roll Express vs. The Midnight Rockers and the list could go on and on as the matchups are limitless. It could easily be the “Legends” against today’s stars too. Perhaps someday some one will put this idea to work as it would be akin to being able to have Roger Clemens pitch to Mickey Mantle. Stu- I feel that most wrestlers will have more success in MMA if they go directly there from college. That is not to say that Lesnar won’t do well in the ultimate fighting world. I have never seen Sean O’Haire fight in MMA, so I can’t comment on his skills. Old Graybeard- Ohio Valley Wrestling is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Wagdaddy- Arkansas’ Darren McFadden is no doubt a special running back but I don’t feel he will win the Heisman this year for some reason. The Hogs season hasn’t done D-Mac any favors. Honestly, I don’t know who the front runner is for the Heisman, but I do wish it would not be voted on and awarded until after all the bowl games. Danny Boy- Tennessee Vols head football coach is definitely a top job, most likely a top ten job, but I don’t see head coach Phil Fullmer heading out the door in Knoxville any time soon. However, if Fullmer ever got his “walking papers” there would not be any shortage of great candidates for his job. Adam- I enjoyed being on Family Feud back in the day with the social Brian Pillman, etc. On the panel, I faced off against Jackie Stallone, Sly’s mom, which kinda made me look smart….in all due respect to Mrs. Stallone. Chris- I didn’t “hate” the Nitro Girls, but that sort of thing is best in really small doses in my view. I like WRESTLING….good, hard hitting, WRESTLING between individuals who have a clearly defined issue and who can carry their share of the water. Steak is my cup of tea (how’s that for a play on words) but with every steak there needs to be a proper amount of sizzle, in moderation, in regards to what happens bell to bell. That’s just my old school opinion. Nick- IF, and it is still an IF, OU makes it to the Big 12 Title Game I won’t care who they play. I do know it is hard to beat a great team like Mizzou twice in the same season but then again KU is undefeated as we speak and a helluva team. This scenario might equate to “damned if you do and damned if you don’t”. Grant- Bret Hart deserves to be mentioned in the same breath as Hogan, Flair, Sammartino, Funk, Brisco, Austin, The Rock and any other great that one can name. It’s as simple as that in my eyes. Bret Hart is one of the ten greatest wrestlers I have seen in person in my 30+ years in the biz. Trey- For me, a little of most of the Divas in the ring actually wrestling goes a long way. Sunday’s Survivor Series features a tri branded, 10 Diva Tag, but it isn’t an elimination match which works better for me. This match should be entertaining. MIke/UK- The recent L.A. RAW was hot largely because of the enthusiastic, sold out crowd, the reunion of DX, who the fans love, and Steve Austin, still a beloved legend, returning to RAW with a clear cut reason (Santino) for being there. I agree that particular RAW was really good. Chad- Does Alex Wright still wrestle? I have not seen him in a long while. Does anyone know? Tom- I have never met my fellow Okie, Garth Brooks, but would like to. He’s a talented son of a gun and a former Oklahoma State track athlete back in the day. I have not seen the latest Mid South DVDm but depending on what is including it is most likely a helluva DVD as far as content is concerned. Jeana McGee- I hope all is well in the Barron Fork Creek area of Adair County. Let’s make sure and keep old, Pee Wee happy with the best Bar-B-Q sauces he ever devoured. My best to all in my old neck of the woods. Come see us in Norman! Anthony- I actually don’t know what Savage is up to these days but there are so many devotees of the Macho Man’s that visit our site, one would think that someone could update us. Doug- What were YOUR reviews of the Hitman and the Jericho books? You have read them both…I haven’t yet, but I’m going to. Everyone I have talked to without fail lauds both these books. Dave- I do not want to be in the storyline business on this site, nor do I care to be involved with anyone’s creative process whatsoever for my day job or otherwise. Patrick- I would rather eat Rachel Ray’s cooking any time, if my wife Jan’s Italian delicacies were not available. I am a fan of Rachel Ray for the record. James R.- Edge’s return date?? Soon. No big star will ever be canned due to the Wellness Program, you say??...I hope that you are correct but, if the shoe fits….. Kevin- I thought the CNN piece on wrestling was only a so-so piece of business to start with, but after the truth came out regarding the seemingly unfair and misleading editing of the piece, I was really disappointed in CNN. I keep looking for solid solutions to the matters addressed and not having the issues/problems rehashed over and over. The problems have been thoroughly identified and now it is time to earnestly work on solutions for them. I have found myself down on most professional politicians and on most cable news networks who are selling sizzle, their personalities, and who proclaim in large part to be “fair and balanced”. That’s real fertilizer. Thanks for checking out the site, our newly designed store, and for your feedback. Our store is open 24/7 so be sure and order your holiday Gift Buckets today for immediate shipping. Plus, remember we ship worldwide! Please keep your feedback coming. Be well everyone. BOOMER SOONER! J.R.

Hey JR, I got two things for you.First off the HBK/Randy Orton match from this past sunday was amazing I thought.I've always been a big HBK fan and he keeps proving why he is the showstopper.I was wondering if you have had a chance to get an early copy of the new HBK dvd and what your thoughts on it were? Second Y2J's return on raw was great. It got me thinking as to why wwe hasnt come out with a dvd of some of his great matches from ecw, wcw, and his first run with wwe.Do you think we could see one anytime soon?

Hey JR, I loved the return of the The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla, Chris Jericho. I was wondering what your thoughts were on how his return went and if you could give us any hints on his new moves that he learned while prepping for his comeback.(I am hoping for an all new devastating armbar myself)

JR, honest opinion: what would you think of a Beth Phoenix (WWE Women's Champ) vs. Gail Kim (current TNA Women's Champ) match?

Hello JR, any idea on if Jessica Hatch will be signed by WWE? I havent heard anything and was wondering if that would happen.

Mr. Ross: My husband died on Sunday morning after a decade long fight against diabetes. I wanted to thank you for the enjoyment your work with the WWE gave him. We began watching in the mid-80's & although we appreciated the athleticism of the ladies & gentlemen, it was the humor that always brought us back. To live with disability in his 40's, Ron leaned on laughter as much as on his faith in the Lord. WWE televised programming meant so much to him. I emailed Mr. & Mrs. McMahon through the corporate website to thank them, & I wanted to thank you, dear sir, from the bottom of my heart, for the happiness your work brought to my Ron. God bless you.

Hey JR, I just wanted to thank you for the superb commentary you provided during the Orton Vs Michaels match at Survivor Series. I really enjoyed the change of style in that match and you made it even better! The best announcer ever in the business just keeps on raising the bar. Take care!

Regarding this comment... The Wrestling Geek Says: JR, love the blog and thanks for all the insight. Will we ever see the Rockers VS Hart Foundation match in which the top rope broke and the Rockers won the Tag Team Championship. I would love it if it was a DVD extra some day. It is always talked about and such a controversial moment. That match is actually included in full as an extra on the new Shawn Michaels DVD to be released 11/27.

Played by Mario Lopez, Slater is the token "jock" of the group. An army brat, he was an outsider, having transferred to Bayside in the first filmed episode (though it was aired later as a flashback). A. C. also mentions that he is from Bolivia. He becomes the school's star athlete, excelling as a wrestler and the quarterback of the football team. He is on the basketball team in one episode, even though the basketball season coincides with the wrestling season. Slater was originally written as Zack's rival for Kelly's affection before becoming Zack's best friend in the show's second season and developing an attraction to strong-willed feminist Jessie Spano. He refers to Zack as "Preppie." López is a drummer and dancer, and some episodes include Slater showcasing these "hidden talents." Slater has a sister who makes an appearance in one episode. His father (a Lt. Colonel) appears in two episodes, but his mother, though mentioned throughout the series, never appears. In an earlier episode, his ex-girlfriend visits and calls him by his real name, "Albert Clifford," unveiling the A.C. in A.C. Slater. In an episode from the college years, it is also revealed that 25 years earlier A.C.'s father changed his last name from Sanchez to Slater so he could get into the military academy. A.C. receives a wrestling scholarship to the University of Iowa, but ends up going to Cal U

JR, Agree with your sentiments on Bill Callahan, soon to be former coach of The Nebraska Cornhuskers. He has no respect for the tradition of Husker football. He did away with walk-on opportunities, tried to get rid of The Blackshirts, and alienated former players, and coaches. He continually throws players under the bus during press confrences with stupid stsatements such as, "Well, we played well except for so and so, and so and so on these plays. Obviously these kids need more practice time". Having the nerve to call honored coach, Tom Osborne a "Crusty Old F*****" doesn't sit well. Two weeks ago his diareah of the mouth was at it again with this gem. While under the scorn and scrutny of fans and media alike, as big as life this statement appeared on the front page of The Omaha World-Herald... "I'm doing a great job here." The article went on to quote Callahan tooting his own horn and acting psudo positive about a season lost. He's not much of coach. He is a failed NFL coach, and has not proven himself at the collegiate level either. Perhaps, he'll take his 3.5 million dollar buyout and leave coacing to those whose goal isn't self-congratulatory, or self-interest motivated. Too many good coaches whose main interest is graduating great people into society are out there looking for work.

It was a great game this past Saturday night. The Sooners showed there true "never-say-die" spirit when they made that last minute touchdown very late into the fourth quarter. And if they had a time-out left, I think they could of had the chance to score again and tie the game. Down here in the Carolina's we LOVE boiled peanuts. Can you and your suppliers make a "JR's" boiled peanut gift bucket for your Carolina fans? See ya tonight (11-19) on RAW, and I cann't wait to see Y2J!

Hey JR, love the blogs. Just had a quick question. I was watching the Dr.Death/Terry Gordy vs. the Steiner Brothers match on 24/7, and I noticed it seemed like Rick and Dr. Death were really laying into one another. Any info on if there was some background on this?

J.R, I've been a wrestling fan for over 20years I can't remember it being so boring. The story lines are lame & the same 6 wrestlers fighting each other is even more boring. Back when the WWE was at its peak the card was full from the beging to the end. The tag team divsion is as horriable as I can ever remember. I hope the WWE plans on pushing some younger stars to the main event soon. Wrestling is losing its edge in my mind & care less & less every show. Feel free to commite negitive or possitivly. Your still the commintater in the Bis.

Hey JR My girlfriend has just given birth to our first child. a little girl called Kacey Louise. she is a treasure and its the best feeling in the world. My question for you is have you had children of your own? if so will we ever see them in the WWE at some point?

hey jr thx for the answer. do you know when bobby lashley will return from his injury? And do you agree with me,that randy orton lost some of his charisma after he won his title?

Hey JR love your blogs. I was wondering. When USA Network starts broadcasting in Hi-Def next year will Raw go Hi-Def as well? When would this happen? Any info? Thanks. Jon

Hey JR, I was a little curious as to why both the King and you mentioned, quite frankly, on Raw a couple of weeks ago, the lack of crowd reaction to the Hacksaw/Super Crazy “Ho/Ce” chant received? There are a lot of wrestlers who do not or never have received any sort of crowd reaction yet commentators have never ‘acknowledged it’? If you ever watch any of Hacksaw’s matches he seems to always receive an enormous reaction! Even Stone Cold, on the same Raw, never received an ovation he is used to getting but you guys never pointed that out?? Then someone told me that you and Jim Duggan have a BAD history and dislike each other?? He even said you are the reason (while head of talent relations) that Duggan was never rehired (despite being one of the most ‘over’ wrestlers ever) after WCW folded and it only happened once Johnny Ace took over?? Is all this true???

Hi Mr. Ross! I'm a Pennsylvania native, and I've been a wrestling fan for years, but it wasn't until about 2003 that I got into watching Raw every week, and now I do the same for ECW and SmackDown! as well. I'm going to my first WWE show when y'all come into Pittsburgh for Armageddon next month. I was wondering if yourself, or any of the WWE superstars/personnel are going to be doing any public appearances or autograph signings during the week of Armageddon? I'd love to get some autograph's (even from the "heels") LOL, and maybe some pictures with y'all. Have fun at Survivor Series tonight, sadly, I can't watch it because I don't have a digital receiver to get PPV, and I hope you have a fun night! PS. I'm looking forward to the much anticipated return of "Y2J" tomorrow night on Raw, and hearing what yours and "Kings" reaction to his return will be on TV. Thanks, James (The JR/King Fan 4Ever)

JR- Any chance the Raw the night after Vengeance (in Dallas) will be in OKC? Thanks, Katie

Is it just me or did everyone forget that HBK can still do damage to Randy's head without Sweet Chin Music. He still has the sling shot suplex that he hasn't used for years. He could pull that out or depended on when this read, it could have been pulled out. He was natorious for dropping people on the back of their head back in the day with this move.

Hey JR, I am always getting into heated arguments with my wrestling buddies about whether the WWE would be better off going back to the old format (all 3 brands combined into one) or not. I personally loved the fact that there was only one championship, one tag championship etc... Do you enjoy the shows better now with the brand extension or before without it?

As a HUGE fan of the original ECW, I've gotta admit I'm a little disappointed with the fact that the One Night Stand PPV has now become just another tri-branded WWE event. There were so many factors that made the original event in 05 so memorable and unique: the retro-styled graphics, seeing the likes of Lance Storm, Tajiri, the late Mike Awesome... all these wrestlers who no longer appear on WWE programming yet came back for one night only, as the name implied. I dont know what the buyrates were or how "successful" the PPV actually was... but as a wrestling fan that was one PPV where I could actually say I got more than my money's worth, which unfortunately I can't say very often these days. So why not do the same with One Night Stand every year? I know "recreating the magic" just can't always happen in this biz, but bringing back the likes of Sandman, Sabu, RVD, etc. if only for one night would make for a helluva entertaining program. I know you don't make the decisions, but I was wondering what your thoughts would be on this...

Hey JR. Always love reading your blog. My question is with WWE programming. These days there is just no 'holy flip, I'm definitely tuning in next week for sure' thrill moments like there used to be -- (such as the Hart Foundation/Stone Cold stuff in 1997, the Brian Pillman return being the best ever). If you had your druthers would you mandate the WWE writers immerse themselves in classic wrestling television moments like these so they can blend in the lessons from those moments to with the frankly uninspiring stuff they're currently churning out so they can create a vibrant sports-entertainment product that caters to the lapsed wrestling fan? All the best.

Hi Jr Just wondered if you like Led Zeppelin as they are reforming soon for a one concert. Have you ever seen the videogane series Legends of wrestling? the gameplay wasnt as good as smackdown vs raw but it had an excellent roster, with the only missing holes being wrestlers contracted to the wwe (HBK, flair, Rock, Austin, Taker etc).iF WWE was to capitilise on what roster that game had and add their own contracted legends with the thq gameplay i believe it would be the greatest wrestling game ever!!! Thanks Danny

Hi JR First I wanted to let you know that I consider you one of the best announcers around (right up there with Gorilla). On the tenth anniversary of the Montreal screwjob I was wondering if you could give your recollection of it. What were you thinking when it happened? What is your opinion on it? Also I was wondering what your thoughts are on Bret as far as his contribution to the sport. Thanks and keep up the great work!

Hey, just wondering with the success CM Punk has had if any other great indy talents could be making there way to WWE. Guys like Chris Hero, Colt Cabana, Jack Evans, The Briscoe Bros., and Brian Danielson (trained by HBK) to name a few.

JR, I was wondering have you read Bret Hart's autobiography yet? I live in Scotland and I don't have a clue when his book comes out but I am very much looking forward to reading it. I am also looking forward to reading Chris Jericho's and Batista's. by the way I read about Joanie Laurer changing her name to CHYNA legally. and her challenge to Vince... if i was Vince, i'd take up the challenge! seriously a hell in a cell match between those two would be hilarious!

Hello there J.R, Did you hear that Alex Wright has a wrestling school in Germany?! Just kidding! Here's my real question.... Is WWE still on good terms with Bob Eucker? I've met him, and he's truly just as nice and as funny as he comes off on T.V. His antics during WrestleMania III & IV are still some of my favorite WrestleMania memories. I'd love to see him back in WWE in some capacity in the future. Maybe for the "celebrity wing" of the Hall Of Fame. I'd love to hear your thoughts on Mr. Baseball. And thank you for dedicating some of your time to your fans, J.R. Your Friend, Joey Corsentino

oh sorry one more question to ask . i know this sounds stupid but i've always wondered why ric flair & triple h put those little stipesof tape around the tips of their first two fingers? is it just some kind of rituel they have does it have a specific purpose? thanks once again!

Thank you for you response regarding the Great Muta Joseph

I was wondering if you think that the indy organizations around th US would ever be able to get organized enough to become something resembling the territories in the old days? I think the different territories helped the wrestling business a lot back then and would be a something very good for it today as well. Thanks

Will there be a WWE: Tribute to the Troops show this year? Also what are you thoughts on TLC's matches?

Hey there, J.R! I went to the RAW Survivor Series support show down in Brisbane Australia, my first wrestling show after being a die hard fanatic for 14 years, I had a GREAT time! I noticed your gift buckets, I got the one with the four sauces and jerkys...Any chance the rest of your store will be made available to Australia, through this site? Im aware of WWE.com internationally shipping your sauce, but just curious about here... One last thing, whats the latest on that Mr Perfect DVD set? I haven't heard anything about it for awhile, is it still in production? Thanks for your time, JR... Long time fan, Krisso

Hello J.R., Forgive me if you've already answered this in a previous blog, but do you agree with the practice of removing any footage of Chris Benoit from future DVDs? Personally, I understand why it's being done, but I don't really agree with it from a wrestling fans viewpoint. Don't get me wrong, I don't condone his actions, I just feel that to cover our heads in the sand and pretend he never existed isn't the way to honor his wife and child. Many wrestlers over the years have been accussed of spousal abuse (although to my knowledge not to this extent) and they have not been "erased". I'm sure my question will be taken the wrong way by some, but again, I don't condone his actions and this tragedy has hurt everyone who loves the wrestling business. Not to mention a mother and child are gone. What he did was terrible and I sincerly hope that no other wrestler (or anyone for that matter)does anything like this again. Anyway, thank you for your time, Mike

hey JR what do you think of LSU this Season,i'm a HUGE LSU fan and would love to see another LSU/ OU matchup what do think the chances are that this match up will happen? take care

I bourght Smackdown! Vs. RAW 2008 the other day. Do you think that it's sexist that in the game you can't play the story mode, tounament mode or many other parts of the game with a Diva? It seems that the assumption is that girls either don't play games, that they don't watch wrestling, or that they can't handle themselves in a match/fight. As a game playing, wrestling fan & Karate instructor it's an irritating part of the game :(

Hey JR, nice blog as always - just wondering if we'll be seeing you calling the action live on TV from Glasgow, Scotland anytime soon - we need JR and the cameras here, though if need be we'll make do with the non-televised shows rather than go without! Couple of quick questions - do you think we'll ever see Heidenreich back in WWE? I thought he was great on tv, and live too, great personality. Also, do you predict any possible matches we'll see at Wrestlemania next year? Im already looking forward to seeing the Undertaker further his undefeated streak! Boomer Sooner from Scotland! Sarah xox

hey jr. what would you say would be the best way to get into a setup crew for the wwe (like setting up the ring, loading/unloading) and such. i always kinda thought something in those lines would be interesting. hope you have a happy turkey day!

Thanks for the feedback on Neidhart. I think he's certainly HOF worthy, but would have to agree that his best days were spent with Bret Hart in the Hart Foundation. I just wasn't sure how WWE would handle an induction like that since Bret's already in himslef. Hey, at least I didn't bring up Randy Savage...lol Thanks for interacting with us here and keep up the great work.

The Foodnet dose alot with internet food and dinners have you thought of doing somthing with Jr's and them. With a few wrestler guests I be they would get good ratings and give you some exstra exposure. Another idea would be a fool blown Jr's kitchen segment with wrestler guest each week on the FoodNet.?? Well how about it?

I just finished reading both Chris Jericho & Bret Hart's Autobiography and found them both enlightening. Have you read either of there books and what did you think of them?

This a bbq loving southern boy from New Orleans. Yes, this is where a lot of wrestling history was made, and a deep love of pro wrestling began for me at the tender age of 10!!! Love your blog and I read it ALL THE TIME. Since this is the true MID-SOUTH MECCA I wanted to put my own 2 cents in. When Slick Rick(Flair) gets in the HOF I would love to see Terry Funk induct him. Plus for the farwell match @ Wrestlemania, his opponent could be Dusty Rhodes, TF, or Sting. My question is did the Spoiler wrestle in the WWE, and if so could he be inducted in the HOF. If so maybe the Undertaker can put him in posthumously. Keep up the great work, we in the N.O. LOVE YOU, AND THE Mid South wrestling years(UWF AND POWER PRO INCLUDED) will forever be remembered.

Hi JR! I absolutely love the WWE Divas especially the Glamazon Beth Pheonix and Victoria. I was wondering if you have ever seen Amazing Kong in action? She is a fantastic wrestler, but do you think that she will not make it into the WWE because she does not have the 'diva look', even though her wrestling skills are so good? Thankx

Hi JR I was wondering if you would agree with the statement that Adrian Peterson’s physical running style will limit his NFL career to only 7-8 seasons. I am a Minnesota Vikings fan and when I hear statements like that it makes me worried. Adrian Peterson is a huge reason that the Vikes have won any games at all this year and if they hope to make a run at the superbowl, he has to be there for them.

Hey J.R i was watching the Jushin Liger Vs Brian Pillman match from superbrawl II.. I gotta say you did one hell of a job in that match.. In my mind, this was one of your best pre-WWE performance as an announcer.. Hats off.. Do you recall that particular match?

Mr. Ross, Do you know what happened to mark mero?

JR, Are you a Bruce Springsteen fan?

Hello J.R How are you sir? Hope all is well with you? I have a couple of questions to ask you: 1. After the Chris Benoit tragedy, I really lost touch with wrestling period, because Chris Benoit was my favorite wrestler of all time to me. When Eddie Guererro died, it shook my love for wrestling a bit because he was gone. But when Chris Benoit passed, I couldn't bear to watch it anymore. My love for viewing wrestling seems to be fading. There are some good ones left. But he made me believe in wrestling for real with his talent. My question here is was there ever a time in your career where there was someone you so admired passed on and that it affected you by questioning your surroundings in the industry or your passion? Or even, was there a situation that you witnessed or experienced in the ring or out that made you question your passion for the business? 2. Do you feel that the championship belts carry such importance and prestige as it were previous champions who carried them before the current champions? I got a sense that the belts are just good looking props for the star in the "sports entertainment" realm. Take MVP, for example, I forgot that he is a US Champion, because I don't see him defend that belt, to show his or it's worth. Do you feel that anyone is at fault with this, the industry or the wrestler? Thank you for your time J.R. Happy Thanksgiving, and I wish you good health and blessings. Bye. Mirgill

I've been curious for some time about the ritual of "wiping one's feet " before entering the ring. I see Regal, Cody, and a few others do this. Could you shed some light as to the origin and what it means to you and those individuals? Hope to see you at the restaurant next month. Boomer Sooner. From a Sooner in Cherokee, North Carolina.

JR, I was wondering if you know what Tiger Ali Singh is doing these days. Remember him from the late 90's in WWF?

Hi JR... first of all thanks for putting so much time and effort into writing for your website, I really enjoy reading your comments. I was wondering what you consider more important... the ability to "put asses in seats" and be entertaining, or the ability to put on a top notch performance in the ring. I just found it a bit odd that when you mentioned the all time greats in the business, you mentioned the Rock but not HBK. Now there's no doubt the Rock was a big star for a while, but his WWE career was ended early, and while he was a really good wrestler he just didn't have as many "classic" great matches as people like Flair, Hart, Austin, and Shawn Michaels. HBK has had a long career full of great matches, and continues to have them to this day (his match against Cena in England was amazing). I know I'm reading way too much into one small comment and I know you're not really the type to play favorites like this. But I'm just curious if you think the Rock's ability to entertain/draw crowds/make money is as important as Bret's or HBK's ability to have a great wrestling match. heh, I guess you can tell where I stand... and I know both sides of it are important, I guess it just bugged me a bit to see the Rock mentioned before HBK.
