Bar-B-Qed Fan Feedback:
Kramer- I have not heard from you since that stand up comedy routine you performed that went “south,” nonetheless, I do not see TNA on the same level at this time as WCW whatsoever. Not even close as Turner and Time Warner had much more resources.
Ron- I am happy you enjoyed your Sooner experience in San Antonio. It was a heck of an atmosphere which is one of the many reasons I love attending college football games especially OU games. Many of my WWE-Texas colleagues love to pile on when the Sooners have a bad day, but I rarely retaliate and I chalk up their boorish behavior simply as being insecure and jealous.
Eddie- I have no clue who is spreading the rumors of a potential Ric Flair vs. Sting match at Wrestlemania 24. I would be shocked if that bout is even being considered, much less if it would ever occur. I feel that it is wishful thinking on the part of some long time fans, and nothing more than that.
Sign Guy- I have been fortunate to have been asked to write many forewords on a variety of books, but the toughest to write may have been “Brody” because it had been so long since Frank Goodish had passed away and I had to re-create some of the experiences we had together, but once they returned my interactions of years ago with Bruiser Brody became much clearer. I highly recommend reading “Brody” if you have the opportunity.
TMW- The packaging of the Legends Roundtables into DVDs is an intriguing idea. (Webmaster says, “I’d buy them!)
Paul Francis- Mr. McMahon is a shoo-in to be in the WWE Hall of Fame at any time. Love him or hate him no one can dispute Vince McMahon’s contributions to the wrestling business. I don’t know when, but I feel it is a guarantee that this will happen… perhaps at the 25th Anniversary of Wrestlemania in 2009.
Leon-I would love more of The Sopranos, but without James Gandolfini the program would not survive long. Perhaps a full length feature film is possible but as far as a series back on TV I think the chances are slim and none and slim just left town. Same goes for another of my favorites, Deadwood. I just met actor W. Earl Brown who played Dan Dority on the show, and found out he is a long time fan. Earl recently sent me some cool Deadwood swag which just made me want to see more of the series. Nonetheless I have the Sopranos and Deadwood on DVD for a quick fix.
Wildchild- I have no idea if there is going to be a Fan Axxcess or not at WM24, but I assume WWE Hall of Fame tickets will be available soon. Perhaps in the early part of 2008.
Dr. Gonzo- With my schedule, as I have said before, I do not watch ROH DVDS and rarely watch a TNA broadcast. In my current role, I am not scouting talent, but I would assume someone at the WWE watches these programs to scout prospective new hires. Some idiot will take my busy schedule as a sign of me “losing my passion,” which is absolutely brilliant. Not.
Godz- I have a feeling we will do more “Badass” Legends Roundtable discussions and perhaps get back to Vader, who was extremely physical back in the day. Vader was the most athletic big man I ever saw in the business. The Vader-Hanson slugfest was the match that helped me facilitate getting both hired for a time in the old WCW.
Jeremy- Ohio State will have a challenging night in New Orleans against LSU who can take a short bus ride to the game. LSU’s overall team speed will be hard for the Buckeye’s to defend. I lean towards LSU in their backyard on this one.
Jeffro- I have never been to Shealy’s BBQ in South Carolina, but would love to try it someday.
Johnny- The BCS system in college football sucks and a playoff system is LONG past due.
Many- Having Wrestlemania outdoors in Milwaukee in March isn’t too likely. I always thought that Molly Holly was underutilized.
Malachi- I never knew that the WWE had plans for Mr. Kennedy to headline WM24. That’s news to me. Kirk Herbstreit is a great guy and I heard he gave me a shout out during the OU-Mizzou game, but Brent Mushberger is a classic old school, main stream sports announcer and those guys rarely acknowledge that wrestling even exists, which is sad.
Fred- HBK taking Cena to the next level is NOT a knock on Cena whose work and work ethic I respect. But make no mistake about it, HBK was the veteran leader of that contest but I will agree that it takes two to tango. Cena’s work in the ring is often under appreciated but HBK is largely in a league of his own these days when it comes to bell to bell wrestling.
Dr. Z- We are waiting on you to visit us up here in Norman. The drive from Denton will take no time and we like to think our groceries are worth the drive, much like the Brisco Brothers Body Shop.
kidmachismo- John Cena is far from one dimensional, but some internet fans will never cut John any slack. That’s simply the way it is. John’s best in ring days definitely lie ahead of him. I saw John recently and he looks really good, is ahead of schedule and will get more news on where he stands medically within the next couple of weeks. I look for John to be back maybe by WM24 but more than likely afterwards. That is simply speculation as only the Good Lord knows for sure how fast Cena will finish the healing process.
Solo-Chances of seeing Owen Hart in the WWE HOF someday? Excellent. The chances of seeing Angle, Lesnar, and Goldberg in the WWE again? Slim.
JohnMan- To the best of my knowledge, HBK and The Rock has never been in the ring together under any situation. It is “highly unlikely” that they ever will.
Darren- After being a part of over 700 Raw Broadcasts it would be impossible for me to name the best match I ever saw on the show. Impossible and unfair to so many deserving men and women. However, I can eliminate yours truly and the train wrecks I personally participated in from any consideration. Can you say “cow on ice” as in I did not belong on that stage? A wrestling internet site, some are so warm and fuzzy, even named my “Country Whippin’ bout with Coach in Chicago as the worst match of the year. They were probably right, too.
Adam- As I write this, I am a Hatton “lean” vs. Mayweather this weekend simply because it “appears” that Mayweather is taking Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton lightly. If so, that is a bad mistake but would lead to a huge return bout.
Hugh- There is some casual talk of J.R. doing some Bar-B-Q oriented work for the Food Network in 2008 if schedules can be worked out. Time will tell. This matter is only in the talking stage and I don’t actually know how much more I can stack on my plate, no pun intended.
Joshua Featherson- Take it easy my friend – and have a sip of Sanka (like I used to say to Paul Heyman/Dangerously). I don’t even know what your question is, but you acting like you’re 12 doesn’t become you. Plus threatening me to not do any shopping here isn’t exactly intimidating as you can shop wherever you damn well please. However, if you reconsider, we do appreciate yours and everyone’s business. You get a “Lighten up Francis” from me for your tirade.
SoonerFan Man- We close at 9 p.m. on Monday-Wednesday because that is when the place usually clears out. We tried and our business in the 9-10 p.m. hour on those days do not merit staying open later. Everyone doesn’t like the sound turned up on any TV show, including Raw or even OU football while they are eating. We aren’t a sports bar in that respect.
Thanks for all the feedback and for your business. Don’t forget you still have time to do some shopping with us and we will do our dead level best to ship it out within hours.
Keep your feedback coming!!
BOOMER SOONER!
J.R.
I learned many things about this facts while I was working for Trianz. I also learned there how to manage a large company and how to make money and I am really proud of that I can say. Some of you might be interested in this matters so feel free to check up more things about it.
