ESPN B.S... Regis Philbin... The Great One... Tower of Doom... M.I.T. Bound... Wrestlemania Closer??... Christian...

For some reason, I assume it was the way I was raised, every time I travel to Washington D.C. and see the White House, the Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, etc, it just makes me feel good about being a citizen of the USA. There is just too much wonderful history in our nation’s capitol to leave D.C. without feeling positive. That’s not an indictment on other countries whatsoever, as I am sure when folks from other lands visit their country’s capitols they probably feel the same way.

I saw the Cold Pizza show on ESPN, which I watch most mornings, and their coverage of the Battle of the Billionaires was done, as usual, tongue-in-cheek, so as to make sure their audience of “hard core” sports fans will not mistake the on air personalities as being “wrestling fans”. Of course, the ESPN on-air personalities are opinionated, speak in sound bytes, attempt to have the most controversial statement on a given show and that is o.k. for their hip, edgy programming. For the record that’s what wrestling personalities have been doing for decades and long before cable. But wrestling is show biz and ESPN are legit sports or so they want you to believe. They are entertainment, perhaps in their own way “sports/entertainment” because if their cute repartee isn’t entertaining, the hosts are gone. Days of straight forward sports casting are dead and buried. I can assure you from personal experience that many of the ESPN staffers are HUGE WWE fans and, in confidence of course, several of the ESPN on air “stars” are all fully aware of the WWE and the WWE’s global success because they all live and die with the ratings and the Monday Night Raw cable ratings by and large kick any thing ESPN does with the exception of an occasional “Special” or a big time NFL game. I am a fan of ESPN and watch their programming a great deal, but if Monday Night Raw went into a ratings dumpster like many of the ESPN shows, i.e. SportsCenter, get on a regular basis there would be MAJOR changes to the look of Raw starting, perhaps, with yours truly. I would surmise that should come as no surprise to any one who has followed the product over the past few years. Being young and being perceived as “hip” is a fact of life in the TV business and the WWE is no different than any other producer of television. It’s just sad that some ESPN on air personalities are so fragile and these individuals are so insecure that they have to place tongue in cheek when making any reference to the WWE or the business in general unless it is a tragedy. Then it is o.k. to lay it on thick because bad news or scandals are what draw ratings. On an airplane I once sat next to the former head of ESPN, whose name escapes me, who left them to go to work with Daniel Snyder, owner of the Washington Redskins, and he was one of the most conceited and arrogant individuals I can remember meeting. A non jock that probably got hell from his athletic friends as a kid and evolved into a first class jackass as an adult. This “I’m better than you” attitude is sad for any one to have. Of course I reminded him that Monday Night Raw on cable earned about 4 times the rating his beloved “SportsCenter” earns in multiple airings. He did not take that well. Tough. I hope he has gotten over it.

TB- The Rock has no contract with the WWE as far as I know. I would expect to see “The Great One” again make an appearance on Raw in the future but that is only my opinion. I don’t hold out the same hope for Rock to wrestle again but I wouldn’t either if I were him. Making movies pays well and the chance of serious injuries is significantly lessened. I thought the Rock’s taped promo was one of the many highlights on Raw Monday night.

James- Will Christian ever return to the WWE? Most likely as he did not burn any bridges when he left and he is a talented performer. I recruited Christian and have a great deal of respect for his passion and love of the business. Plus, he is a great guy. Never say never and I hope to call more of his WWE matches.

Eric- I was not a huge fan of the Tower of Doom. It was not horrible mind you but not my cup of tea. I am a fan of War Games and hope to see it utilized again some day.

Ryan- Being in the Navy, thanks by the way, is going to make it a little more challenging to get wrestling training. Nonetheless, the school I might encourage you to check out is in Ocala, Florida and is run by a legend, Dory Funk, Jr.

Matt- When I watch Raw back on Tuesday when I arrive back in Norman I listen to see if I talked in sound bytes, what I missed as it relates to the story telling of the match, if I talked when I should have not, if we documented the transitions with each match, and if we displayed natural emotions and not some contrived hype that sounds like a carnival barker upon further review. I am harder on myself than any one else I have ever worked with in my career and I have worked for some pretty demanded men, I assure you.

Andy- The WWE core business is really strong and growing on a global basis. What needs addressing is the signing and training of “tomorrow’s stars” which will be priority # 1 in my eyes for years and years to come. This process is being done but it needs constant review and constant improvements.

Bob- We are not planning on making a pizza sauce but we will have Bar-B-Q Pizza on our menu. We have had several castings over the past several weeks and the Bar-B-Q Pizzas have been a HUGE hit. We use our original Bar-B-Q Sauce which is sweet instead of marinara for one of the best “pies” I have ever tasted.

On a side note, our beef jerky is selling great and we received several orders over night last night. I promise you our beef jerky is healthy, not dry, and we have 4 flavors of which you should mix and match and try them all to determine which one or which one’s are your favorites. We ship them in minimum ships of 6 packs of jerky.

Kris- I don’t know who officially will close Wrestlemania 23 but if I were calling the shots, and I am not, I would suggest it be Undertaker vs. Batista.

Jay- I am not involved in the scheduling of arenas or the routing of live events or TV events. I know the Canadian fans are loud and proud and not “too out spoken” so I would suggest that the scheduling is a simple matter of multiple arenas being available during the same time frame so the TV trucks can get from locale to locale efficiently and safely. Some of the most fun I have had in the business has been in Canada but we won’t get into the details of those moments at this point in time. There is no conspiracy I assure you but many wrestling fans and wrestling media love a nice conspiracy much more than simple facts.

Arice- HBK may not be athletically better today than he was when he was younger in the 90’s and prior to his back issues. However, I will honestly tell you I think Shawn is a much smarter wrestler today and therefore that makes him more effective, in my mind’s eye, than he was a decade ago. Can HBK win the WWE Title at Wrestlemania? Without a doubt and I am sure John Cena would agree. This is going to be a super match as HBK has this habit of taking pleasure in “stealing the show” and I feel this might be John Cena’s signature match thus far in his career. The question is can these two co-exist between now and April 1 and for that I have no answer. Their relationship could be blown to hell this Monday in Indianapolis for all I know.

Bill- Yes, I follow other sports in addition to being a football fanatic including March Madness, the NBA playoffs, Major League baseball when it gets past the All Star break, and Poker (is that a sport?) I am not a fan of the NHL simply because I need someone to help me with the rules. I don’t even know what “icing” is. I also follow some of the mixed martial arts stuff out there and some boxing contests.

Next week is when I will be in Cambridge Massachusetts to teach/lecture two days at M.I.T. which I am really jacked about. This is a wonderful opportunity to interact with some very bright and motivated young people and talk about the history of our business which I love doing. Who would have thought an Okie from the hills of eastern Oklahoma who started his career in wrestling below the ring crew level, and yes I worked on the ring crew, too, would some day be talking “wrestling” at one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in the entire world. I can just see my late Dad who was more like a John Wayne like character than not, rolling his eyes at his only child being asked to “talk about wrestling” because I have been doing it all my life. I used to use my toy Army men as wrestlers back in the early 60’s and built a wrestling ring by driving 4 nails into a board and then using twine as the ropes. This was LONG before action figures were even an after thought.

My best wishes to Regis Philbin who is going to undergo heart bypass surgery this week. Regis has been a great friend of the business since the heyday of Classy Freddy Blassie and was wonderful to me and my wife Jan when we did a cooking segment on “Live with Regis and Kelly” a few years back.

I hope you try the Jerky and I am so thrilled that our sauces are selling like crazy with many repeat orders. If you haven’t tried them, you just don’t know what you are missing.

WE will have more this week so please check back early and often. I’m headed to OU football practice where the Sooners are scrimmaging today. Football season never ends in Norman, Oklahoma.

Boomer Sooner and eat more Bar-B-Q!

[...] As the Sting avatar may give away, I fancy myself a bit of a wrestling fan. A few months ago I stumbled upon the blog of Jim Ross, the play-by-play man for WWE’s Monday Night Raw. I was astonished with the candid nature of his blog, most of which deals with answering tough questions from fans. I checked today to see if his blog was updated, and indeed it was. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that the title of the post included the phrase "ESPN B.S." Ross had some harsh criticisms of ESPN, and he was especially hard on the cast of ESPN2’s morning show Cold Pizza. Here, in it’s entirety, is the second paragraph of Good Ol’ J.R.’s latest blog entry. The entire post can be read here. [...]

Dear J.R., Thank you once again for taking the time out to read my second official blog to you. As I stated once before, you are one of the greatest wrestling commentators in history. It is my sincere opinion that you are ranked up there with the likes of The Late Legendary Gordon Solie, as well as The Legendary Lance Russell, just to name a few. Mr. Ross, I have a few wrestling questions that I would love for you to respond to, if you will sir. If you have already read my initial post and have responded to it, please disregard this blog and accept my sincere apologies. First off, my main question is concerning Starrcade. We would like to know if you've heard any rumors on a possible release of the Starrcade PPV Matches on DVD? If so, can you/will you give us an estimate on when these products will be made? We are both loyal fans of The Jim Crockett/Ted Turner Wrestling Promotion of The National Wrestling Alliance/World Championship Wrestling, and to be honest, I can't believe that these DVD's haven't been released as of yet. Secondly, as far as we both know, history shows that Ron Simmons was the first african american to win a Singles World Title. It is my educated guess that Iceman King Parsons is the second to accomplish this feat. The next person that comes to mind is Tony Atlas when he wrestled for ICW. Abdullah The Butcher was a Singles World Champion as well, could he be #2? If all of my choices are wrong, please correct me. Thirdly, this question has been on the mind of my best friend and I; Jerry Lawler made a comment on a past episode of Raw that he was the last reckonized AWA World Heavyweight Champion, however, our research state otherwise. According to our records, the last reckonized AWA World Heavyweight Champion was Larry Zybesko. History also states that Jerry Lawler was stripped of his AWA World Title not long after he defeated Kerry Voneric. Can you/will you comment on this statement? Finally both my best friend and I desire to have our own official pro wrestling website, People would be able to read and respond to post, as well as get an opportunity to ask there favorite wrestler a question or two if possible. Can you tell us where to begin to learn about the sport of wrestling and where to learn about owning a wrestling website? Thank you kindly once again, please be advised that I've added a little more to these questions as opposed to the first blog that you recieved from me. Please feel free to respond to either one of my entries, and as always, keep up the great work. I'll be buying your BBQ Sauce in the near future. Goodbye for now, and have a great day. Gregory L. Hey JR! You are the voice of the WWE in my opinion. I was wondering how the Skittles plugs you do on RAW came about? It's a bit of an inside joke between me and some friends. "Fruity, delicious, delicious, FRUITY, FRUITY! Skittles."

Dear J.R., It is an honor for me to be emailing one of the greatest wrestling commentators of all time, and I thank you in advance for reading my first blog. First off, I would like to know if you've heard any information about releasing Starrcade on DVD in the near future? I was a loyal fan to The NWA/WCW for most of my life, and it's hard for me to believe that there are no copies of Starrcade out for purchase, at least to my knowledge. Secondly, Jerry Lawler made a comment on a past episode of Raw, that he was the last reckonized AWA World Champion, however, my research states otherwise. According to my research, Larry Zybesco was the last reckonized AWA World Champ, are you/can you clarify this information for me? Thirdly, as far as I know, Ron Simmons was the first african american to win a Singles World Title. my question is, who would be #2? My guess would be Iceman King Parsons, if this is wrong, please tell me the correct answer. Finally, both my best friend, Gregory V. Hall, and I are faithful fans of wrestling and would love to have our own pro wrestling website, and perhaps even interview some of the greatest people in wrestling both present and past. Although I am now totally blind, the passion for the wrestling business still lives in me, and we would love to be able to have a great career in this field. can you shed some light on how to have a career in the wrestling entertainment industry? Thank you once again for taking out the time to read this entry from me. It indeed was an honor for me to be emailing the Legendary Jim Ross!! Keep up the great work, and don't worry, I'll be buying some of your BBQ Sauce very soon. Gregory L. Davis

how would one be able to send a pic. of my tattoo to someone before i die?

what ever happened to giant gonzales and also is it true that King Kong Bundy is doing stand up

Why cant WWe keep big name stars like WCW used to? I understand WWe makes stars but any company can do that. I dident like Brock Lesner, I thought his finisher looked weak but he could have been big. Scott Stiener could have done wonders for WWe raitings but I feel he wasent given the chance. The same could be said of Bill Goldburg, Hugh Morris and Lance Storm. Then there are wrestlers who could have and still could make WWe billions, wrestlers like STING, Vampiero and Bret the hit man Heart. But instead WWe keeps Undertaker in the main event instead of admiting his age is showing. He needs to slow down in reality he couldent keep up with the likes of King Booker T and Bastista. Speaking of Booker why wasent Steveie Ray ever hired by WWe, Harlem heat was possabley the greatest tag team ever. I love wrestling and always have and its huts me to see so many stars come and go. Why cant WWe keep talent? I watch TNA now to see my favorite wrestler and wish they had more air time, but sence WCW was killed Ive watched WWe and guess I always will. I only pray Vince pays for destorying WCW and ECW one day. Thank You.

Hey JR. Just wanted to say thank you for all the wonderful memories on Raw. I tune in every Monday Night to hopefully hear "Stunna, Stunna, Stunna!" one more time. Also, I'm glad you had a great time in DC this past week, that was my second Raw (1st being in Dec 06) and can't wait till Mania and Ford Field. I've never been to a Mania and I'm definitely looking forward to it. I'm about to order some of your sauce, I'll let you know how it tastes once I get it. Thanks, Kelijah!

J.R, what are your thoughts on ex-WWE, WCW, and ECW talent and STARS of the underground music scene, Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope also known as the Insane Clown Posse? And could you have seen them becoming major roles in WWE television?

JR I've been to 2 events in the past year and im in Section 110 for Wrestlemania, I was just wondering, since WM has never been around here in my lifetime, what can be expected of the Fan Axxess tour?

Hey Good 'Ol J.R.! Your blogs are great and very insightful. I wanted to know your thoughts on stables. Since the uprising and demise of such great stables as the Four Horsemen, nWo and even DX...where do you see the stable storyline fitting in with current WWE/ECW rosters? I would like to see a Horsemen type stable, just four to five guys that are buddies and watch each others back. Going the route of the nWo for me is just overkill as a gang of guys coming out and smashing chairs, and attacking people all the time. I want a good guy cross brand stable with a good manager. Like the days of Jimmy Hart, Bobby Heenan etc except with good guys! Thanks for your time!

hello, im new to viewing your site and i like the honesty you give in your responses to everyone who writes in. i have a couple of questions i hope you can answer. #1.- are there going to be any tag teams worthy of the WWE tag belts on RAW anytime soon? i have enjoyed the DX-Cena run because it has brought more attention to the titles but i have not seen anyone else that could carry the belts and not come crashing down within a months time. #2 - i have seen a trend of the WWE bringing back "old school" "attitude era" personalities and i have enjoyed all of them. my question i guess is don't you think there is something missing? maybe a new for horseman with ric flair as the manager? to me it would be a great addition as well as a fan pleaser to have benoit, cena, chris masters-(with better mic skills) and jeff hardy. i know there are a great deal of things going on in the WWE right now but THIS would be HUGE!!!! finally i would like to ask about "the rattlesnake" returning to the ring. i know with his injuries from years past that austin can only do so much but if he were to come back i would like to see him go for a good year and maybe hold the WWE championship one more time. he looks great and i don't know if he's in ring shape or not. just the same i would like to see him put the WHOOP back in WHOOP ASS back on RAW. what do you think? well thank you for letting me take up some of your time and i will be watching RAW this up coming monday.

Do you think that CM Punk will face Bobby Lashley for the ECW belt maybe at the next ECW One Night Stand, because if they face eachother for the belt if would order the ppv(because I really wanna see CM Punk win the belt). Also do you see RVD ever winning a world title again, because it would be great RVD vs. CM Punk for the ECW World Title.

Do you think that atleast by next year's Wrestlemania 24, we'll see a John Cena vs. Randy Orton match. I've been waiting for this match for 3 years.I just wanna know if it is a coincidence or not that everytime they have faced it ends in a disqualification, the first time they faced was at the Eddie Guerrero tribute show on Raw, and Randy's dad interfered, and the second time 2 weeks ago Edge caused a disqualification. Do the writers not want either to lose to eachother until its a big match situation like Wrestlemania 24?

Hey JR. I was wondering about referees in wrestling. How do you train them? Are they normal wrestlers that were too small or do you have to specifically train to become a ref? If I wanted to ref, how would you suggest going about doing it? What is the psychology behind refing? How can I tell if someone is doing a good or bad job? Feel free to answer any of these questions.

I was just wondering what ever happened to Chris Jerico? I don't remember when he left(other than a long time ago)but I didn't think there was any reason. Was there a televised reason, and if so what was it? Will he ever return? Also, somebody mentioned Christian, I would also love to see his return to RAW. I thought that even though some of his story lines were pretty stupid he executed them underfully. The positive thing about him leaving is that he was able to become THE champion which I was glad to see, but always thought shouldn't happen in the WWE based on the title holders of his era. (The Rock, HHH, Big Show, Angle, ect., ect.) Thanks for your time. Ben

HELLO J.R. - As a long-time wrestling fan (27 plus years), what the WWE has decided to do with there PPV's where all three brands will be incorporated into each PPV is a very smart move. The biggest change in PPV's over the past 10 years has been the decline in the amount of matches and match time. Only 6-7 matches per 3 hour PPV is NOT what we as wrestling fans want to spend $35.00 to see. What I feel is hurting the PPV experience is the amount of time spent on building up and hyping each match during the PPV. These build ups are NOT necessary during the PPV because we have already seen the hype on RAW, SMACKDOWN and ECW programming. The WWE has already convinced me to order the PPV before the PPV happens so why would I want to see the hype and "video packages" of all the events leading up to each match on PPV(We want the action not the HYPE),thats what the television programming, WWE website and publications should be doing to be driving force to push the matches. This content would be great as extras for DVD production but not live on a PPV. More time could be given to solid matches and also push more talent with more matches. With three brands now being used on every PPV, why not have three matches from each brand for an example which would create nine matches total per PPV. If you examine PPV's from years past(not just WWE), nine or ten matches were common place and made the PPV's more exciting with more talent and storylines utilized. Fans do not need a break between matches especially if plot lines have been established, we want the excitment to continue not a "commercial break" between each PPV match. The WWE has three brands to promote a lot of potentially great storylines and matches with there program outcomes and finishes on PPV. I realize this may not be anything you have any say in BUT I believe you enjoy more wrestling and less hype with the wrestling telling the story not some "video package" building a story. I hope you could pass along my concern and views. THANKS FOR LISTENING!!!!

Ok, so Melina is a very entertaining wrestler, however she does too much of a good job as a heel because her "dominate female" speech is starting to aggrivate me. As far as I can see there is no one on any roster that could shut this woman up. There is one woman though & here is my question..when and where will Stephanie McMahon return to television? I would love nothing more than to see Stephanie give the billion dollar bitch slap to Melina. Why Stephanie can't escort HHH & HBK to the ring is beind me. I need some Stephanie in my life. What is the new mother up to?

Hey JR... Long time WWE fan here from New York. I have one question for you: If I was interested in getting into the business, but not in the "wrestler" aspect (more like ring announcer)... how would I go about doing that? Last month I flew down to Florida to ring announce an independent show and it went great. I got compliments all over the place for the job I did, from "You did an amazing job", to "Wow, I didn't expect you to have a voice like that". I'm extremely interested in getting into the business as a ring announcer and I'd like to know if you have any advice for me. Thank you!

JR, the gentleman from ESPN you're referring to was probably Mark Shapiro. I worked at ESPN for several years and you pegged the attitude of many people there dead on. I encountered him in passing several times in my days there and there are many like him. But for every one of him there were one or two great people also. That attitude you describe however was the law of the land. It was one of the things I couldn't stand while there and often got flack for openly being a WWE fan and even had it used against me. I currently work down the road from your headquarters in Stamford and WWE uses us to help broadcast RAW around the world. I've had the pleasure of playing a small role in helping you all out as it takes many people to make it happen. The people I've spoke with in your company have always been first class. Also, there are many devoted WWE fans here within my company so that's good news. It's always a pleasure reading your blog J.R.

Hey JR, As a huge fan of the NHL (And especially the Atlanta Thrashers), and since you mentioned it...I'll volunteer to explain icing for you. Basically, its when one team sends the puck from their half of the ice all the way to the end of the opponent's side, without anyone touching it. Now then, my question for you is....do you think us Stevie Richards fans (And believe it or not there are a lot of us!) can ever expect to see him used as anything but his current role as enhancement talent every few months? Stevie is perhaps the most overlooked, under-rated guy in WWE history, IMO. Thanks for reading my message JR.

Oh and by the way Cena as heel would be smart whoever mentioned that

Why would Cristian go back to the crappy do the smae match all the time show that held him down when he was gettin bigger pops than Cena in the feud they had. WWE dropped the ball and it gon happen again with RVD and hopefully Mysterio. I'm a Wrestling fan but TNA is must see and I dont care if I miss any WWE show. I wouldnt even watch SD if it wasn't for King booker.

I dont understand something if randy orton is the future and when he was a face people loved him and even as a heel they wanna see him why is lashely getting such a huge push but he has been kind of just put out there. He should win money in the bank and 2007 should be his title run cena is done and batista in ring is horrible just cuz he's big dosent make him good. Wwe is falling into the wcw mind set with tna if they dont watch out dixie carter could turn into the next bishoff even though tna is lame to me

It was great to see Rocky this past Monday. My favorite highlight of the year so far. I guess there's no chance of a World's Greatest Tag Team/London-Kendrick match, you know..the best possible workrate tag team match LEFT in the WWE today. Oh well...at Shelton gets to work with underrated good perfomers like Venis. I'll take Shelton/Venis over the melodrama of Michaels/Cena ANYDAY of the week. BTW, JR, did you want to see Rock/Michaels in the ring at least one time? Honestly, I only wanted to see such a match to see the Rock absolutely punk Hickenbottom out on the mic. It would be absolutely hilarious and DVD worthy.

Hi JR, do you think that there will be another King of the Ring tournment this yr? if so do you think that a ppv such as Judgment Day or Vengeance will be renamed King of the Ring?

Hey J.R... How DO you learn to fall off a twenty-foot ladder?

Hello J.R., What has happened to Vladimir Kozlov? Earlier in the year there were promo interviews with him at ringside for about 6 weeks or so, and I also heard that he was doing some dark matches on Raw; but then for the past month or so I have seen nothing at all of Kozlov? Is he still contracted to the WWE, and if so, will we be seeing him anytime soon? Take care, Ciaran.

Rock's recent appearance on Raw confirmed one thing: John Cena is no Rock. And yet, he could have been-- and maybe could be someday-- but WWE essentially de-fanged Cena by making him work as a "white-meat babyface." Look, I think Cena's still a great performer, but the "Doctor of Thugganomics" had an edge, a dimension, that "The Champ" just lacks. He would just be a more effective and more entertaining character as a "bad guy." Hogan, Jericho, Nash, Booker, Angle, Michaels-- they all enjoyed a career rejuvenation as heels. Heck, Rock re-charged his career TWICE by "turning bad"! This recent program with Michaels is a perfect (and perfectly logical) opportunity for Cena's turn. Please consider this advice and pull the trigger on Cena's "superman" face run.

Boomer Sooner! I love hearing your insight JR. Thanks for putting this blog out for viewing! I was wondering something. I have been a wrestling fan for about 24 years, and I have seen a lot. Currently, there's a lot of predictable storylines out there for WWE. I am not one to criticize the great work of the creatives, but I just wish they would come up with more of the magic moments that have made WWE what it is today. Huge storylines like the original Stone Cold V. McMahon, The Rock's feuds with Undertaker, Triple H and Stone Cold, The Undertaker in hey-day with his ministry...are all of those kinds of things a thing of the past now? With all the talent on both sides of the ropes, I think they can do it. Regardless, I watch it every single week!

J.R. I see WWE always focusing on the big huge muscular guys. I know you have no authority, that you're there strictly for commentary, but would you happen to know why people like CM Punk and Benoit and RVD haven't gotten their much needed push? If you don't know why, I understand, you're apart of the commentary team, not the creative, but if you do know, that'd be pretty awesome as well. Good luck for you and your Hall of Fame partner. Hope to see you in there next year.

Hey JR was wondering if you knew how long STONECOLD is going to be around? they need to let him get more air time on raw and let him be general manger again. What do you think?

Hey J.R. Is there any chance that Owen Hart will be inducted into the Hall of Fame any time in the next century????? It may be the Canadian bias speaking, but he is the most deserving person to be inducted into the Hall of Fame P.S. How hard was it to carry on the show that fateful night in Kansas City?

I'm surprised that Jerry "The King" Lawler has not asked you to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame. You and him were the announce team for the duration of the Attitude Era, and together you may very well comprise the greatest sports entertainment journalists of all time. Which brings up the next question: When (I say when because I have no doubt it will happen) you are inducted, do you have any idea who you would want to enshrine you?

Do you think the UK will ever get to see a Wrestlemania on these shores ? The crowds were great at the Manchester Raw and Smackdown TV shows and we have two great stadiums with retractable roofs to hold them in Millenium Stadium holds 72'000 and the new Wembley stadium in London holds 90'000 and they attract fans from all over Europe. I remember going to Summerslam 91 at Wembley as a five year old and The British Bulldog vs Bret Hart match is still up in my top five matches as it was a perfect example of technical wrestling and cemented my position as a wrestling fan ever since.

Curious as to next years hall of famers. Do you think there is any chance that we could see Gordon Solie inducted? I grew up watching the old NWA on TBS every Saturday afternoon, and always enjoyed his work. His knowledge and commentary were always top notch. I think the hall is incomplete without him. And what about Arn Anderson? How can he not be in the hall? He may not have had the "flash" others had, but he was truly a thinking man's wrestler. His body of work is extremely impressive. And if The King can go in while he is still an active wrestler, why not the greatest of them all, Ric Flair? The King deserves his spot very much, but if being active is what keeps Flair out, why did Jerry go in? Flair needs to be added soon. Thank you, and I do want to say that when you were not on Monday nights, it just wasn't the same.

Hi JR was just wondering why taker was never given more of a push as champion, as the way i see it for the size of the man, he athleticism is unbelivable. Also do u think if he was too lose at wm 23 that would destroy his persona, after all thats what makes him in my view in his winning streak. But i have a feeling being april fool's day it is going to play into the outcome of some the matches. WELL TAKE CARE PAL

It was reported recently that WWE pay-per-views will now have all three brands represented instead of just the RAW, SD!, or ECW brand seperately.... Do you think this will eventually lead to wrestlers not being "owned" by any one particular brand? I see it happening already, with Khali on every show and MnM jumping around everywhere... How do they determine who goes to which show? Is it based on performance? (ie: wrestler X has been doing well lately so he can jump to RAW and ECW...) I'll see you guys in Atlanta for Backlash in April. I'm coming from Raleigh, NC and I'll try to get seats close to the ring. Keep up the excellent work.

Thanks for speaking the truth, JR. You always have the right down the line answers that the fans asks you. I loved this blog entry. I hope Christian comes back too!

What is the WWE's current status as far as intrest in Teddy Hart? i know that Harry Smith (who i saw perform in newcastle australia on the ra summerslam tour and is very talented) TJ Wilson and Nattie Neidhart already have development contracts and r together in DSW and ive heard rumors that a new hart foundation could be in the works. is this true and if so, does the fact that many indy promotions have (apparently) outcast teddy for fear of his unpredictable behaviour and attitude concern WWE at all?

Hey JR. Thanks for all the years of calling great matches on RAW and ppv's. With Naddie Neidhart and Harry Smith already signed to WWE do you see Teddy Hart coming in? If so is there a possibility of a new generation Hart Foundation? And with that being said, do you see Bret Hart being involved a little with his nephews and niece? Bret will forever be my all-time favorite WWE superstar and I would die to see him have one more stint with WWE even if he can't wrestle anymore due to his prior health issues. Thanks again JR. YOUR THE MAN! GO HENS! (Delware Blue Hens)

Personally, if Undertaker vs. Batista does not close Wrestlemania, I will be furious. Undertaker won the Royal Rumble, and it is his right to be in THE main event of WM. Not A main event, THE main event. If Cena vs. HBK closes Wrestlemania, it will be even more proof that the writing staff is biased towards RAW.

Hey J.R big WWE fan ere, iv just wanted ask you on your thoughts about the current status off WWE, and to ask you will the WWE ever go back to its attitude days and will ECW go back to bein original? I'v also been reading your comments on TNA and i think TNA has great matches and great young stars and im just thinking will the WWE get high flying wrestlers in the cruiserweight division like TNA has in the X division because back in the attiude era the WWE had tremendous talent who could perform all their high risks moves and now we barely see any superstar or cruiserweight doing any sort of high risk moves, so my question is is the WWE going to build there cruiserweight division again and will the WWE go back to the attitude era days where it had more hardcore wrestling then now? Thanks J.R for reading and hope to get an answer from you soon out of your busy schedule.

Icing is when a player sends the puck the entire length of the ice...moving the puck is suposed to be a team effort. if you need clarification of any other rules, just go to www.nhl.com/hockeyu/rulebook/ ... once you get a basic handle on the rules, its one of the most exciting games around (nhl, not that bush-league stuff), especially with the new rules meant to encourage a faster paced game. if you really want to see a hockey clinic, check out a penguins game...malkin and crosby are the future of the sport. see you monday night.

Why have Cryme Time been pulled from Raw? They were very entertaining!

hey jr, i live in wheeling west virginia. our state is legalizing casino games for our racetracks, one of which i am an employee of. so my question is would my little town be more attractive to the wwe to bring in raw and smackdown for tv tapings? we do get wwe events now and then, but usually house shows, and those sell out quick. smackdown was here a year ago and people went nuts. raw hasn't been here since tyson was at mania. which has been a little while. i know our arena is small. which probably has something to do with it. but it does get loud. i know you have nothing to do with booking the arenas. just wonderin what you think. one quick question. when we gonna see a jr's bbq sauce commercial on raw? maybe one with candice or maybe ashley? or maybe a diva bbq sauce match? im just kiddin, but i would like to see you get some commercial time for your product though. thanks for your time jr. jimi

"Horowitz wins! Horowitz wins! Horowitz wins!" Sorry, J.R., I was thinking about that the other day and it still brings a smile to my face. Mostly because, I remember that other announcers on WWE TV at the time seem to rib you about it on the air. Was it just something that slipped out when you were calling the match at the time that ultimately turned into a bit of a rib, or was that scripted? I get the feeling (or at least I like to think) that it was the former and the boys were just ribbing you about it. You took some heat for it on the air, what was it like for you when the cameras weren't rolling? Is that quote still something that comes back to haunt you (website blog notwithstanding) to this day? And, whenever Barry Horowitz is mentioned, it wouldn't be right without including a classic Gorilla Monsoon quote, "A pat on the back is just 18 inches away from a kick in the pants!" Keep up the great work, J.R.!

Hey JR, I just wanted to know your thoughts on the Status of Johnny Nitro. In my opinion, he is a very talented up-and coming superstar. With Wrestlemania 2 weeks away, do you see him getting on the show?

Hey jr. Love the blogs. Would you please let the higher up know that alot of the fans would love to see a randy savage dvd set from wwe. You guys do such a great job on them and randy should get his due...........hall of fame, hint, hint.
