Happy Holidays everyone and thanks for stopping by our site. Recently yours truly has seen some of the most hectic, travel times I can recall in quite some time, as airline travel these days is hellacious, to put it mildly. The airlines are over booked, especially with folks who rarely travel, which causes some unique issues that we veteran travelers must endure. Sometimes one wants to say, “Come on lady, take off your damn shoes so we can all get through the security line today!” If any of you are planning on traveling any time soon via air, please go online and read what one can and cannot do as it relates to security issues, carry-on luggage, liquids, etc. For all of you who will be travelling over Christmas, believe me it will help you to go to your airport or airline’s website and read the latest rules to save yourself some time and aggravation. Last week I spent the night as a guest in the home of Steve Austin while I was in LA doing some media promotion for the 15th Anniversary Monday Night Raw broadcast. Steve and I had a great time, and rest assured that we did not drink and drive – because we did not drive anywhere. Nonetheless it took me 11 hours to fly from LAX back to OKC, which was murder. This week it took me 12 hours to fly from DFW, after having to make a 3 hour drive there from OKC due to the ice storm here on Sunday, so I would be ready to work Monday night in Bridgeport in case of bad weather up there. Then while flying home on Wednesday from New York’s LaGuardia Airport, what a nightmare of an airport, to DFW and then to OKC, a trip that took almost 12 hours due to “air traffic” issues and “rain.” Now I am preparing to fly to snowy Pittsburgh this coming weekend from OKC for the Armageddon PPV and then the King and I will make the 3-plus hour drive on Monday from Pitt to Buffalo, NY for Raw − and they are saying that Buffalo is apparently expecting snow for our visit. There’s never a dull moment traveling in the WWE! Perhaps the King and I should invest in a charter aircraft for this trip… but that isn’t going to happen, sports fans. We will make our usual drive… discuss the NFL, especially the Browns… and make our normal stop at a Cracker Barrel (there’s no J.R.’s in that neck of the woods… yet)… and we’;; be at work on time to do our job. Just another day at the office… ringside at Raw. Being a part of the big, three hour Raw last Monday night was fun and was much akin to attending a family reunion of sorts. I enjoyed visiting with all the former WWE Superstars that were on hand and catching up with their lives and what they are doing these days. Mike Shaw, aka Bastion Booger, has a real big son, 6’5”-305 lbs, who is being recruited by several colleges, including Wisconsin as an offensive lineman. Ted DiBiase is working within his ministry full time and is excited about the opportunities his son is getting in the WWE developmental program. The younger DiBiase is a natural from what others have told me, and has a brilliant future ahead of him. Plus, the kid has a degree in business administration. Smart. Repo Man invited me to come up to Minnesota and go ice fishing with the Goon (Bill Irwin) and him some day which sounds like a blast. I will never forget how great a tag team Bill and his late brother Scott Irwin were as the masked, Super Destroyers back in the day. Plus, who can forget Repo Man’s run as one half of Demolition? Steve Blackman, about to become a father for the first time, was in awesome physical condition and is training MMA fighters in Pennsylvania. Steve is always fun to talk with. WWE Hall of Famer Pat Patterson says that Steve is even more frugal than Tony Garea, which is a major statement. Blackman looks like he could still kick some ass and was in the best condition of any of the “old timers.” For the record, being frugal isn’t a bad thing and I wish more “old timers” would subscribe to that theory than the often used philosophy of “live for today, buy more bling, don’t pay your taxes, and the constant flow of money will never stop.” Speaking of Pat Patterson, Pat is one of my dearest friends in the WWE and a man for whom I have great respect. Yes, Pat is gay. So what? The reason that I bring this up is that is seems that some of you hang on every word spoken on the Raw show and that my attempts at humor regarding Pat have been taken by a handful of you that I am a homophobic. For goodness sakes, please lighten up Francis! I may miss on my attempts at humor, but I am damn sure NOT homophobic and Pat himself tells more jokes about his lifestyle than anyone else. We are trying to have fun… not make political or social statements. Please… I am “begging” some of you to not to over analyze every aspect of every broadcast of a wrestling show. There are plenty of sites that do that for a living and we are NOT one of them. Pat is like family to the Mrs. and me and he gets as big a kick out of my humor as anyone. Sunny looked wonderful Monday and I met her new boyfriend, who seemed like a nice guy. Sunny was in really great physical condition, as many of you saw, even though she told me she still had “8 pounds to lose” which made me envious. Sunny has endured a great deal over the years with a lifestyle that not even she would necessarily suggest for all members of the family, but I am so happy to say that she has turned her life around and is healthy and happy. I sincerely wish her continued success and sobriety. Bottom line is that Sunny was the Diva that started it all as it relates to the Diva biz in the WWE, and no, Moolah was not a Diva… Moolah was a wrestler… and Sunny should be given credit for her contributions to the WWE. I hope to see her again down the road and with her only being 35, I think; she has plenty of fuel left in her tank if the WWE ever decided to bring her back for a full time or re-occurring role. At least it’s something to think about. RVD looked well rested and healthy, even though his time in the ring was shorter than some of the King’s relationships and my diets. I would not read anything into RVD’s cameo on the Anniversary Raw as it relates to Rob returning to the WWE full time, but one should never say never. I think it would be great for RVD to be back in the WWE, but time will tell if and when Rob may be ready to return to the road on a full or part time basis. Be that as it may, it was a nice surprise to see RVD back in a WWE ring. How cool would it have been if Paul Heyman had joined RVD at ringside, even though some of the “old timers” might have enjoyed Happy Heyman being in the ring as a participant in the battle royal, but I assume that statement would hold true for many of us. Bart Gunn looked super and was huge and looked to be strong as a bull. Always a nice guy, Bart is one of the toughest men around and who will ever forget his dominance in the ill conceived “Brawl for it All” tournament that included Bart K.O.’ing Dr. Death Steve Williams? Great to see Al Snow and “Head”. I have always enjoyed Al’s work, we even did some commentary together in Smoky Mountain Wrestling, and we all know that the King loves “Head.” Al is coaching down in Ohio Valley Wrestling and imparting his wisdom on the young superstars of tomorrow. If Mick Foley were here right now, there would be a joke made without fail. Hulk Hogan seemed to have a good visit with his old traveling buddies and peers. The Hulkster looked a little tired backstage, but he had just flown in from LA on a private aircraft with Eric Bischoff and RVD, who all traveled from the west coast, where Hogan is taping the return of the “American Gladiator,” which premieres on NBC in January. (Back in the day, Rico Constantino was quite a hit on the old American Gladiator program and since leaving the WWE Rico is back as a police officer in Vegas, as I understand it.) The Godfather is managing several Gentlemen’s establishments in Vegas and I hope to play some dominoes with the man also known as Charles Wright when I am in Vegas in February for the Kelly Pavlik-Jermaine Taylor fight. Jim “the Anvil” Neidhart is still “strong like a bull” and the father of impressive WWE rookie, Nattie Neidhart, is still quite the character. Jim wrestled in the Mid South territory for Cowboy Bill Watts back in the day and even taught Watts’ youngest son, Micah, the finer arts of shot putting. Neidhart still holds the 6th best high school shot putt distance in America, as I am told. It would have been great to have see Anvil’s partner Bret “The Hitman” Hart on the Anniversary show, but that simply wasn’t in the cards. Nonetheless, I strongly suggest that any wrestling fan purchase Bret’s autobiography as quickly as possible. It is a helluva read. You read it and then tell me what you think about it. Same goes for The Rock, who also could not be with us Monday due to scheduling issues. I know that there will be some who can’t wait to jump up on their invisible soap boxes, hiding behind phony screen names and who will damn the Rock for not being in Bridgeport Monday night. It is what it is, folks, and the Rock doesn’t pretend to have an agenda nor does he make promises he cannot keep. Wrestling is and always will be in the Rock’s blood, but he has another job now that in which he has immersed himself. Is that a crime? Most sane wrestling fans “get it,” but those that love to rant about what any ex-wrestler owes “the fans” is usually talking about themselves as the one being owed and whose rantings appear at times to be delusional. These are the fans the biased news media loves to exploit and to generalize as the “typical wrestling fan.” Sad stuff. Seeing Bob Backlund, I guess I should call him “Mr. Backlund,” in gym shorts is always a sight for sore eyes. One of the greatest WWE Champions in the company’s history is certainly deserving of the WWE Hall of Fame..… and NO… I have ZERO to do with those selections, so please don’t rail on me about Backlund, Bruno, Savage, Warrior or any other individual your little heart desires. Nonetheless, Bob Backlund is still in AMAZING physical condition too. The King and I usually spend a fair amount of time in the catering area (no jokes please), at WWE TV events, as we don’t generally have a locker room and enjoy the catering area as a meeting place to visit with those that pass through and to prepare for our broadcast. This past Monday, the catering area with its many tables was THE place to be and would make a helluva DVD extra for the event. Hey, there were cameras everywhere, so perhaps some of those classic moments were captured on tape. Trish and Lita both looked super and were still the same two beautiful and intelligent young women I signed to WWE contracts years ago. Both seem happy with their new lives, but their return to full time WWE road work is highly unlikely if you are keeping score at home. Lita is doing projects with her band and Trish is apparently going to open a Yoga studio in the Toronto area from what I understand. Both are still hotter than donut grease. I mentioned this in my weekly Raw column on www.wwe.com that the person who does the closed captioning for the Raw broadcasts must have had a helluva time attempting to figure out what Dusty Rhodes, the King, and yours truly was saying during the World Tag Title Bout Monday night. You still have time to place your orders with us and we will get them to you within a few days in time for the holidays. C'mon! Rosey "AKA" Mat Anoa'i is the son, not Umaga "Eddy Fatu". God help me!!! Why do people preach on Samoan people and get it wrong every time!!! Any who, People like wacky and out there characters....although Vince and his creative team were clearly giving Umaga the creative attention that he needed...Instead of pouring all the creative juice into John Cena...after a while it just gets boring to see people like Cena and Orton win...plus Vince and the creative team seem to find justice knowingly tarring the losing superstar with a major loss. If more respect and credit even reward was given to superstars who have literly broke their necks for the sport were treated with more respect by the whole of wwe the wouldnt have the problem of declining ratings. I cant see a peak for the wwe in the near future and ive always said wwe pulled out all the stops to beat he opposistion untill around 2003. Then things just got boring! This clearly needs to be reviewed the old school fans around the world who have been forgotten are begging for something that has been lacking for so many years...the glamour and the exitement is gone and now its just stagnant...more un-impressive matches unrealistic storylines and more jerky stars making the big time over true long time players of the sport. wwe has clearly lost its roots but we can all pray for a better day! Tua FA' A' SAMOA! Constructive Critisism Allways Helps

RAW talent VS Gimmicks Do you think RAW ralent like Rock and Stone Cold is harder to come by then a good gimmick Look at Umaga as Rosey and Jamal He didnt make and impact as a member of Rocks Family and son of one ot the Legened Samoan tag teams he struggled and sudenly as Umaga he is making an Impact. Rock and Stone cold blossemed out side of there gimmicks were undertaker as the American Bad ass didnt go overt well... What is better raw tallent that takes time to develop or a good gimmick... Why does WWE lack in both... MVP, Carlito, Kennedy and Sheldon still struggeling to make it to the leverls of HBK, HHH, John Cena as superstars. from South Africa

J.R. Vince McMahon was especially devious as he made the HHH/Flair match tonight. Is there any way, seriously, that he could be nominated for an Emmy? He really is quite effective in that role. Happy health and holidays to you and your family.

JR, I wrote you a week or so ago about the Fiesta Bowl. I'm sure you have heard that Coach Rodriguez has betrayed WVU and quit. I understand that he was offered a better job at Michigan but leaving just a couple weeks before a bowl game is ridiculous. I'm sure that WVU is going to have an extremely difficult time in the Fiesta Bowl without a coach. I was just wondering, how do you feel about this situation? Thanks. -Nathan

J.R., Thanks for the updates on all the guests on Raw's 15th anniversary show. It was quite the spectical! Do you know what ever happened to Adam Bomb? Did he ever wrestle under other names? I always thought that was a good gig, but he never ended up hitting it big. Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey JR. I just watched Shawn Michaels & Mr.Kennedy go at it at Armageddon. The match, in my opinion, was the perfect balance of aggression and psychology. I was just wondering if you thought anyone else who has debuted in the 21st century wrestles with as much science as Ken Kennedy does? I'm not sure how the storytelling of a match is pre-arranged, and how much say the performers get in it, but it seems like he has the whole thing down. Great on the mic, but tells an even better story in between the ropes.

JR, I forgot to ask, have you been interviewed for the 3 disc DVD on Stone Cole Steve Austin? And when will WWE make the decision about who calls the Royal Rumble match? I hope my fellow readers of your blog also talk about hearing you call the match, preferably with the King and JBL.

J.R. Awesome blog on the 15th Anniv. RAW show. I was standing watch over the barracks with the Navy while it was only, so I only got to see bits and pieces of it, but from what I saw, it was a quality show, just like always. Keep up the incredible work, and long live Monday Night RAW!

I know this is late and probably no one is paying attention, but I just wanted to add something representing the "sane wrestling fans" who get it. All of you who are whining that the Rock "owes you something" really need to get a life and lighten up. Trust me, I am as big a Rock fan as any of you and have been since the beginning of his career. I would have loved to have seen him last Monday, or at any other point in the last few years, but the fact that he didn't show up doesn't offend my delicate sensibilities either. Rocky has worked an absolutely insane schedule in Hollywood and has earned some time off (especially after the recent divorce). Also, to suggest he should have shown up to provide "closure to his career" is asinine, because he's only in his mid 30's, has plenty of time left to return whenever he chooses, and is not dead the last I checked. Grow up and quit accusing him of selling out, because he's third-generation familiar with the business and cares much more deeply about wrestling than some dork sitting at a computer. In short, lighten up FRANCIS.

I just wanted to wish you and Mrs. JR a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Great update there with the former superstars. Nice to see they are doing great outside the ring.

Raw last week was one of the best Raws that I have seen for a while. I would have loved to have seen the Rock return to talk about some of his favorite Raw moments. Bret Hart could have been a surprise too, but we know the score there. What is the chance of Sunny returning to the WWE? She was one of the best talkers on the mic.

JR, you touch on Hogan being on RAW, but still make no mention of Hogan's strange Savage reference on the show, even tho several people have questioned you regarding it. What gives?

Regarding my earlier JBL returning to the ring question following Armageddon and because of what happened at the tribute to the troops i think my question has pretty much been answered however i do have a different question regarding HBKs win over Mr Kennedy i was already more then certain that he would win cause he was not going to lose two pay per views in a row but still he should have put Mr Kennedy over as it would have done a lot more to further Mr Kennedys career the HBK. Kennedy is on the cusp of the Main Event and has been so close to breaking the glass ceiling if it was not for other circumstances. What did HBK have to gain from beating Kennedy? Unless HBK is going into a high profile fued leading up to Wrestlemaina i cant understand why he won. If HHH won Jeff Hardy i would have understood cause he is almost gareenteed to be in the main event of mania probably in a match with Batista or Orton which i have no intrest in seeing because its already been done for the simple fact that he ALWAYS is. It clear that WWE had big plans for kennedy when he won MITB yet since then he always loses when it matters. Sorry if it was a bit long and one more thing what do you think of Mr kennedy using the Stunner as his finishing manovere?

The 15th anniversary show was great. The absolute, bar none, best Raw I've seen in a very long time. Was nice to see some of the old faces back on my tv screen. I truly enjoyed it. Speaking of Al Snow and Head: There is one joke that I will never, ever, forget hearing you make. Tell me if you recall hollering this out of our tv speakers: "Chyna just gave Al Snow Head!". I near fell out of my chair laughing at that one. Is it just me or did Hogan drop a Macho Man teaser on Raw?

Hey great site an posts do you think jeff hardy is ready for a title run? if so how about matt hardy? are wrestlers advised not to leave hell in a cell durin matches an fight outside an on top of cell? john cenas return? wen is he expected an will he be champ wen he returns?

hey JR Hope all is well Just a quick question, who has the final say on who gets inducted into the Hall of Fame? does this person listen to the fans? By the way, I often write messages on here but i didnt mention pat patterson's sexuality comments made by yourself. the reason i mention this is because you say "please lighten up Francis" in your blog. it wasnt me who made the comment.

Any chance of seeing an nWo DVD? I don't mean that "back in black" fiasco. I mean the real WCW nWo with all WCW footage as opposed to the "in WWE for a cup of coffee" nWo. I think it's important for younger fans to see just exactly why DX is called a poorly executed nWo rip off. Personally, I'm shocked that DX has one single fan out there. Triple H and HBK could never hold a candle to Hall and Nash.

Loved your commentary during the battle royal. when Skinner was mixing it up with someone. I dont remember the exact dialogue, but it went something like the King saying Skinner did that move fabulously (or something like that) and you replied with a well he is definetely a fabulous one. great stuff. (i guess it would have gotten old if you guys did that for everyone, but its good to hear comments like that now and again) i was never a big Steve Kiern fan, but that Skinner gimmick always gave me a laugh. I especialy loved it when he used to spit and one of the commentators got grossed out, i think Bobby Heenan or Roddy Pipper usually did. But I was amazed at how far Skinner made it through the battle royal that night. I found myself rooting for Skinner there for a while. I actually thought he might have finally gotten a push not seen since his IC Title match with Bret Hart at Tuesday In Texas. I think the early 90`s had a bad rap for terrible gimmicks. With the Skinner`s, Berzerker`s, Doink`s (the evil one is the only Doink I ever recognize, that gimmick was pure genius), the Col. Mustafa`s, the Friar Fergison's, the Max Moon's, the Damien Dimento's, etc. Sure these gimmicks were bad, but they definetly were entertaining to say the least. Any chance we will see some new ridiculous gimmicks in the future? I think that is what has been lacking for the last decade or so, ridiculous gimmicks and managers that own the mic.

Hey J.R. how is it going? I got a question about the unsigned divas. I heard that Lena was a part of WWE but was not signed yet and also diva search winner Eve Torres. Where do they stand in WWE are you gonna sign them somewhere in WWE?

Yeah, what happaned to Mr. Perfect's dvd ? Oh and Bret Hart's book is a masterpiece - the best wrestling book ever !!! It's also the most honest wrestling book ever. It will make you laugh, it will make you cry but most of all it will inspire you and will make you apreciate all the sacrifices the best wrestler of all time made to get to the top and entertain us for 24 years.

For shame Good Ol', no mention of the wonderfully talented and simply stunning Molly Holly?

I just wanted to know your thoughts on the rumour of a return to WWE of the Dudley Boys? I reckon they are currently the greatest tag team in the business. They have finally got away from the worn out face act and are amazing as the new and improved heels they portray. I would love to see them back in WWE (as the best team should be in the biggest company). However i'd hate creative to make them faces and have them do the old ring gimmicks again and so i'm split. Admin www.theunprettier.com

99% of your observations on Raw 15th was right on . Sunny looked great as did Lita Trish Anvil looked to be enjoying too much food but good to see him on Tv. I was happy that WWE and RVD came to agreement to appear. Hulk ,despite i do not like the man as a wrestler, was just as charged up to see him. Too bad Too Cold Scorpio couldn't be himself or Repo man couldn't have been Demolition smash. Sad no Stacy Kiebler or even a video cameo from the Rock . As For Bret I understand why and I have gotten the book great read.

Like Ben, I also wrote to you regarding the Mr. Perfect DVD. Please fill us in if you're able. Also, the Jerichoholics demand a great career spanning DVD treatment! Keep rockin' JR!

Hi JR loved the RAW 15th Special I knew it was gunna be good but that was something else!!! I just wanted 2 know what your thoughts on when Hulk Hogan said “And Never say Never OHHH YEAH”??? Could this possibily indicate A long awaited Rematch between the real life rivals of The Hulkster and The macho Man, Hulkamania vs The Madness! possibly at WM24. I know its wishful Thinking but in This Bussiness NEVER SAY NEVER!!! Can u Dig it JR cus I sure can OHHH YEAHH SNAP INTO IT!!! P.S please ask Vince 2 Rehire Gillberg!!!

JR- the Raw special was outstanding. I just hope that next weeks addition of raw isnt a disappointment. It is sad when the fans look forward to seeing guys who no longer work a regular schedule instead of the current superstars, but I have to say i'd rather see the Hulkster, APA, Godfather, Sunny, Trish, even Bischoff more than Hardcore Holly, Hornswaggle 15 times a show, Kahli etc. I agree that Demolition was the greatest tag team of all time. Ax and Smash brought the pain and it was a pleasure to grow up watching them. Good to see Ted Dibiase and IRS, I always liked Money Inc. I miss Armando Alejandro Estrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrada. He is still listed on the profiles page but i never see him on ECW. I think he should return as Umaga's manager as Umaga has had good matches but has become a little stale lately.

Hey J.R, I really enjoyed watching the 15th Anniversary of Raw Monday night. Sunny looked as beautiful as ever. You mentioned that it's her starting the whole Diva roles. I realize that Moolah was more of a wrestler than a Diva. But what about Miss. Elizabeth (the first lady of wrestling), wouldn't she have been considered a diva? Cameron

I have to agree with others here. "Demolition" never seems to get enough recognition, if any. They were one hell of a tag team when they were around. Not to mention they were also responsible for one of my top royal rumble moments. I remember it well. Demoliton drew numbers 1 and 2 in the rumble, so they more or less just waited around to see who would be number 3. And as it turns out number 3 was the big man himself, Andre The Giant. To me that is a classic moment in royal rumble history. And speaking of the rumble. The Million Dollar Man buying number 30 in the rumble was also a classic.

I hate to be a pest, but what is your favorite NFL team? Keep up the great work, and Hook-em Horns(I was accepted)!

Hello JR- A few weeks ago, I tried your Chipotle BBQ sauce, and I must say it went quite well with my ribs. I also finished reading Bret Hart's book a few days ago, and it was a great read. It is not something for the "stereotypical" wrestling fan, because it is filled with complex rhetoric and literary devices, yet it is straight forward. Maybe I read too much into it.

Hey JR, Merry Christmas to you and your family, I have always loved Kane, am his biggest fan!! Do you ever see another title run in his future? Either ECW, WWE, or World championship? He has had very limited title runs. And he has always been way over with the fans, wether as a heel or face, I would love to see gold around Kanes waist again.

Phony screen names.????? How many co-workers of yours use "Phony stage names"...Just curious!!

I am pretty sure those comments were meant for me regarding the ROCK...ooopps.. I mean Dwayne Johnson. I wasnt even gonna say a word about but since you opened the door, I will walk through. Scheduling issues. Give me a break! For this show to truly be as big a deal as it's made out, they need Bret Hart and The Rock to be there, Without them, the show is not a true representation of Raw through the ages and their absence is telling. couldn't the WWE have sent a small camera crew prior to the show to get a two-minute promo of The Rock talking about his favorite RAW moments. He was an integral part of RAW history. For him not to be included is shamefull. If he said that he wouldn't do even a taped promo, then that's a slap in the face to all of his fans.He should want to be known by his real name. However, he shouldn't forget where he came from either. Appearing on this show would have been the perfect way to thank the fans, and put closure on his wrestling career once and for all.

Speaking of your nuts... Did that come out wrong??? I recently received some nuts that you should give a try and who knows, maybe try to do your own take on... The nuts I got were "Buffalo Wing Nuts" (although I still say the company "Made in Buffalo" http://www.citymade.com/madeinbuffalo/ needs to cut the name to "Buffalo Nuts" or "Wing Nuts"...) and they were similar to the candy coated nuts you get at the fair (or in Germany) but they also had a kick of hotsauce to them. So... J.R.... Do you have the BALLS to give your nuts a little KICK? ;-) PEACE Jay-Bird

Believe it or not I would like to see a dvd or at least a part of one on Demolition.I liked them alot back in the day.But part of that is because at the time I only had access to WWF and knew nothing of the Road Warriors.I heard they were a rip off of another but never saw the other and didnt care at the time. They had quite a few matches and I think they were pretty popular for a while.Certainly there are other superstars that deserve a dvd and they were hardly industry changing but it would be nice to see the interviews or memories with them of that time.Just adding my 2 cents.I wish you did have a vote in the dvds and Hall of Fame.I wish I did.Jake Roberts would be there already if I did.

hi J.R! Looking forward to Judgement Day in Omaha, lots of buzz around here for it. I am not usually one to ask about internet rumors, but there is a report going around about a heated argument between Michael Hayes and Mick Foley on a recent Legends roundtable taping for WWE 24/7 regarding the McMahon death angle earlier this year. Any comments? By the way, just watch the World Class DVD and it was excellent, nice to see Gary Hart, Bill Irwin (the Goon), Bill Mercer, Kevin Von Erich and others talk about this wonderful territory I used to watch on ESPN more than 20 years ago.

What is Marty Jannety up to these days and did you talk to him before/after the 15th Raw.

JR, Sorry to have to do this but I feel the need to comment on the can of worms that was unleashed about "The Rock". I understand that he has a new career now and is devoting a lot of time to it. I understand that you always can't just drop everything to show your face. Unfortunately, would Dwayne Johnson be the multimedia star that he is today without the WWE Fans. I know people who haven't watched Raw in years because he is no longer wrestling. That's fine too. But they tuned in last Monday in hope that he would show up and be the big surprise that was going around on the dirt sheets. Some people say he owes the fans, but he would just be the normal Dwayne with out them. WWE promoted his movies got him more exposure than could be imagined, and you can't forget that he was "The People's Champ". It really would have been great for him to show up, and knowing that you two are friends and talk on a semi-regular basis maybe you will pass these thoughts on to him. Maybe the words of the fans may get him to show up at maybe WM24 but who knows its still his choice. I don't feel burned like the other fans and I'm not griping about him not being there but I agree with your statements and the fans. The fans still love the man. They still support him or else he wouldn't be getting too many acting jobs. Some want him to return to the ring, That would be great too but very unrealistic. But maybe he would see it in his heart to show the fans that he thanks them for the support that they gave him in the WWE and on the big silver screen. That is all the fans are really asking for. And he would never have to say the words "Thank You" all he would need to do is show up give a quick ranting promo and leave, all the fans want is and electrifying promo that, admit it, rival or even better than "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes.

After watching the 15th anniversary Raw, I got curious about a few things. The biggest thing that I noticed was the reaction that RVD got. WWE would be smart to do what it would take to get him back right now and make him the champion. I personally think it would be interesting to see the Nation of Domination brought back. Ron Simmons could lead the group with Mark Henry, Shelton Benjamin, and Elijah Burke, or some combination of superstars. At least it would give Ron something more to do than the one word they give him every week. He is above that. Besides, I'd rather see Ron than just about anyone else. After Smackdown, I came to this conclusion. I AM TIRED OF WATCHING KANE BE MISUSED!!!! Jobing to Batista, the so called animal, who looks more sophisticated than anyone else in the company when he comes to the ring wearing suits. Thats not an animal! Kane has way more talent than Batista and hasn't gotten the respect he deserves. Come on, Kane can make fire come from the turn buckle, he can make lightning bolts come from the roof and catch someone on fire, he used to be so mean that he set you (J.R.) on fire, the Undertaker had to tombstone him 3 times to beat him, but yet he can't win the world title more than once for one day. They have made him so soft that he looks and acts normal. KANE IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE NORMAL. Please WWE, i'm begging you to turn Kane back to the monster and do the right thing.

Whatever happened to the Mr. Perfect Curt Hennig DVD? There was a lot of talk about it around the time of the HOF, now, nothing...

Hey JR - I wanted to start by saying that I have been a long-time fan of both yourself and the wrestling business, with my interest beginning as a young kid in the early 80's watching Championship Wrestling from Florida. It was here I got to see the likes of the Fabulous Ones and the "Haitian Sensation" Tyree Pride. Just had a quick question for you. I realize that internet reports should be taken with a grain of salt, yet I have read that WWE has had a problem with writers mainly due to the fact that these writers lack wrestling knowledge. Has any thought been given to possibly trying to offer a liberal arts elective at some major universities around the country that focused on professional wrestling history? It might spark some interest amongst communication and other similar majors and help expand WWE's fan base. More importantly, it might pave the way for future graduates, who previously were not exposed to this business, to seek employment with WWE on the writing side. I truly believe prospecting for quality writers is just as important as prospecting for future WWE in-ring talent. On a final note, I would like to disagree with those who have stated you have lost your passion. I still think you are head above any other announcer in wrestling today and quite possibly ever. Much like Joe Paterno or Bobby Bowden, you have earned the right to leave on your terms, whenever that may be. Thanks for your time.

HiJR,I have Bret Hart's book. I had to orderer it through a book store in Canada as it is not avalible in the US right now. It's a great book. I could not wait till the US release to get it,as Bret and (Shawn Michaels) go figure, are my 2 favorites of all time. I so wish would swallow a little pride and agree to appear on Raw and let WWE help him get whatever printing rights or whatever in the US. I have the HBK dvd on my DX-Mas list and how great would it of been for Bret and Shawn to of talked about the past. I'm mean it's been 10 years, and I love Bret to death, but get over it bro, things happen, Shawn is a diffrent person now. I think Bret would be great value to the young WWE stars, if he would just forgive and move on. He'd have a great impact of those youngsters helping them along the way and giving guidence. I guess one could only dream what he could do. Have a great DX-Mas and good luck with your BBQ place!!!!!!

Hey JR-I really enjoyed this week's blog and I thought the anniversary show was great as well. I have read Bret's book and loved it - it seems to be the most honest wrestling book that I've read and in my humble opinion Bret is the greatest wrestler of all time. As his book sales have shown, his legacy and his fans love for him transcend the WWE.

We were watching the Superstar Billy Graham DVD last night when I started wondering, when are we gonna see a Gene Okerlund DVD? I know, you have no real say on what makes it to DVD, but I want to at least add my vote to the list. And I still think it'd be a hoot to have King show up on Raw in a Superman suit.

JR, last mondays Raw was on of my favorite of all time. I had taped it and it quickly became THE tape at work and has been passed around all week, with fans who have fell out even loving it. I think it really did alot to help the wwe. I work in airport security,so you remarks about knowing the regulations really hits home. Im glad some people think ahead. Again thanks for all the great work you do, i shudder to think of the day Raw doesnt have you calling the action. I would also like to throw my hat into the ring for a Monday Night Wars dvd set, i think there are many great wcw/wwe matches from that era that could really be given a spotlight. Thanks agian Nic

Hey JR, I was just wondering where the Big Show was at the 15th Anniversary? What are the chances of him ever coming back? I see him coming back similiar to the way Chris Jericho did....after he has recharged his batteries. Keep up the great work.

Let me start by reiterating (sp?) Dr. G. " First and foremost, allow me the honor of thanking you for years of entertainment. You truly are the standard by which play-by-play men will be held for years to come" Couldn't have said it better myself. The 15th Anniversary show was great. There were some faces I would like to have seen, and tributes I would like to have seen done, but man it would have taken all day to fit in everyones favs. The only majior disappointment for me was the Marty Jannety match. At one time the rockers were my favorite team, and I liked him a little better than Shawn at the time (I've since become the biggest HBK fan I know). He just seemed out of time and lost a little. I'm going to chaulk that up to ring rust. I know it's already longwinded but I do have a bit of a wrestling history question for you. in 82, 83 I caught my first glimps of wrestling. It was a local promotion here in Indianapolis run by Dick The Bruiser. I seem to remember a guy by the name of "the Playboy" Rick Flair. Just woundering if my memory is failing, or if it was some one else. It sure looked alot like Naich. Do you have any knowledge of l this? I know my post is quite long so if you don't use it, or cut it down, I'll understand.

Hey JR, I heard that Matt Borne played Doink at the 15th anniversary show. Is this true? I loved the evil Doink character

With Sunny's contributions to the WWE and the DIVA movement would you consider her Hall of Fame material? My hopes are that she will be. It was good to see her on Raw healthy and happy.
