Start ShoppingOur sale ends Friday night at midnight central time so don't be "burning any daylight" when it comes to making a decision to place your order. The 6 Pak Powerslam and the Beef Jerky package have been running rampant. We have learned a great deal on this sale and will implement some positive changes when we do our next major promotion.
Lots of ground to cover so let's fire up the smoker and get busy....
I have put in some LONG hours over in the Q&A section of this site and updated every question that made the cut. Repeat questions or questions that resembled the Gettysburg Address did not make it. They passed of natural causes.
I also deleted every question concerned my contract status and my plans for the future. I'll give you this....interesting days lie ahead.
Some of the subjects that I addressed in our latest Q&A Section include:
My friend Taz....Competition in general...working with Paul Heyman...underutilized talent...MVP's Summerslam promo (loved it)...my thoughts on the most memorable heel turn...The film "The Express" which is essentially the Ernie Davis story...my thoughts on Chyna returning to WWE...Lilian Garcia pending departure from WWE and my thoughts on her (she writes a book, we riot)...A possible Rock return to Monday Night Raw...The Oakland Raiders...Chuck Liddell's future...Pete Rose in the MLB HOF...WWE FINALLY signing Bryan Danielson...and some college football questions.
I was hugely disappointed to hear of Rey Mysterio being suspended for violation of the WWE Wellness Policy. That's a real head scratcher but it will open the door for some young lions to take their game and the perception that goes with it to the next level including Dolph Ziggler and John Morrison just to name a couple.
My Smackdown blog is an entertaining read and can be found on the Smackdown page at www.wwe.com. My own photo for my own blog isn't utilized as I think that some are under the belief that my two bouts of Bells palsy, the palsy won, has given me a face that startles women and children. It's a funny read none the less. Perhaps you will even find a covert message there or two. Ah, dirt! Plus you will read about the Fink potentially dancing with Paula Abdul.
Jerry Lawler did excellently when debating his opposition on live Memphis TV Thursday night. The King is a great talker and to show you how serious he is about this race Jerry actually wore a nice looking, dark blue suit, a starched, white shirt and a striking, red tie. Girlfriend Renee must have had a hand in Jerry's TV attire. You might ask what is the big deal with Lawler wearing a suit but if you knew how much he detested "dressing up" you would better understand my point.
The "Rise and Fall of WCW" DVD continues to be panned and applauded by a variety of people that I respect. I happened to like it but I also will agree that some of the story was not told at all or not told as throughly as some would have preferred. Even with that said, I still wholeheartedly recommend one buying this DVD release and coming to one's own conclusions. The sad thing about a minority of wrestling fans if that one doesn't agree with their opinion then that person, IE yours truly in this case, is a blithering idiot. Hey, I might qualify for blithering idiot status but not on the grounds that I expressed an "opinion."
Don't miss the C.M. Punk-Jeff hardy Steel Cage match for the World's Title on Friday Night Smackdown on MyNetworkTV. You will legitimately be PO'ed with yourself if you miss it so, at worst, set your DVR.
So head on over to the Q&A section which is free even though some folks much smarter than me have encouraged me to make our Q&A section a "Premium Section" that would cost members $5 or so a month plus they would receive discounts on our products. That might be something to think about.
Again, thanks to all of you that are shopping with us and I hope that you get your orders in before midnight Friday when this promotion ends.
Boomer Sooner!

I did have plenty of comments on "The Rise and Fall of WCW" myself, but as I'm at work, I could drag things down quickly going over it all. Just a few important things right now.
Jim Crockett said that Starrcade '83 started the chain of events which led to the end of the territories. In fact, the death of the territories had begun a decade or more prior to that. Many formerly successful territories were out of business by 1983. It could be argued that the first event which spelled the death of the territories was the death of Ray Gunkel and the promotional war which ensued in Georgia, or perhaps even Eddie Einhorn forming the IWA. Of course, which specific event started it all is highly debatable.
The lack of availability of Mid-South footage was a critical factor in creating massive holes in the storyline. As the documentary portrayed it, Bill Watts only appeared to have a role in any of this when he assumed leadership of WCW in the early 1990s, when in reality his role in these events were quite significant for perhaps almost a decade prior. The interview clip with Watts where he mentions making JYD a star is accompanied by a clip of Big Daddy Ritter from Stampede Wrestling, a clip which I'm sure I've seen before on other WWE DVDs.
To a lesser extent, their recent use of Terry Allen in both this documentary and on the Starrcade DVD leaves out one very important fact. Johnny Walker (the wrestler, not the booze) singlehandedly made Magnum T.A. Since that footage wasn't available to be used, neophytes would not be able to know that unless they undertook the effort to learn about it on their own.
One thing I did like about the documentary was that while it threatened to seriously drag about halfway through, they managed to throw in enough turns and twists to keep that from happening.
Some of you are probably tired of me praising Lance Russell, but I didn't watch WCW during his brief tenure there, so I would have loved to have seen something involving him. Speaking of announcers who were with WCW for a short time, did I get this right that Jesse Ventura announced a match which was on the DVD and his commentary was excised?
My apologies for the typos. Now THAT'S embarrassing!
I haven't seen the WCW DVD yet, but i expect to. My greatest fear, moreso perhaps than the customary revisionist history, is that the documentary will embrace the standard, and very wrong, myths about the "old guys" hanging around on top too long. But worst of all, I doubt that the nWo will be given the credit it truly deserves, and the same falsehodos so dogmatically accepted by many a so-called "smart" fan will be offered up as fact: The nWo got too big (not true), the nWo went on too long (not true), the nWo wore thin and the fans lost interest (not true.) I also doubt it'll be acknowledged that the nWo was responisble, much more so than ECW, for inspiring WWE's "Attitude Era" of the late '90s, and how without the nWo there would've been no Austin, no Rock, no DX, no Mr. McMahon.
Sorry about that, J.R. I really wasn't trying to sound bitter.
wow I was surprised to hear about Rey... hopefully it's something like an expired subscription and not intentional drug use just for fun
If you made your Q&A section a pay only section it would bomb due to giving people less reason to visit your website. Anyway here's the view of my favourite You Tube shooter (because he's fair and comes across as professional in his videos hence his subscribers list being huge) to the WCW release which i'm sure you would enjoy if you watched.........

Hey J.R.! I just got through watching "The Rise and fall of WCW" and, in my opinion, was the best documentary released by WWE thus far. I didn't know they were going to trace its history back as far as it did. I learned alot I never knew. I give it two thumbs up and, to steal one of your phrases, a BOOMER SOONER!
