So for all "Dirt Worshipers," people that like to find "hidden meanings" in what I write, and to those that simply love to second guess...it's time for BBQ'ed Random Thoughts....
It was great seeing the legendary Angelo "King Kong" Mosca in Hamilton, Ontario on Tuesday night. I had a great visit with Angelo and fondly remembered a feud that he had with Cowboy Bill Watts that I broadcast in the 70's. Angelo, a former football great at Notre Dame and a member of the Canadian Football League HOF was one of the most consistent, believable, old school villains to come along in wrestling. Mosca is now in his early 70's and at the Copps Coliseum he also enjoyed visiting with Pat Patterson and Tony Garea, the most frugal man in the biz, according the big Angelo.
Jeff Hardy has taken down his Twitter page which is a smart move. The less Jeff says about his legal entanglements the better. I do not believe for a moment that Jeff Hardy is a "drug trafficker" or "dealer." I don't know why Jeff allegedly was in possession of the drugs in question, there are lots of avenues of speculation, but hopefully there is be a viable explanation. Nonetheless this apparent mistake will hopefully be quickly and efficiently addressed so that Jeff can put this embarrassing ordeal behind him and focus on more positive things including his own physical and mental well being.
I saw Matt Hardy in Hamilton but never spoke to him about his brother's situation as I figured that Matt had already been quizzed by enough people on that matter. We spoke but not about the recent controversy as both Matt and Jeff know that I am supportive of them and have been for years since I signed them to their first WWE contract.
My "sources" tell me that Michael Cole will be a part of the 10th Anniversary of Smackdown which I feel is a good thing. I would have no issue if, say, Cole and the always entertaining JBL broadcast a match or all of them if that was the decision of the home office. This event will be taped in Boston on September 29.
A friend of mine makes lots of MMA equipment that is sold around the world and, I think I'm right on this one, that both Shane Carwin and Brock Lesnar wear size 4X MMA gloves.
I will be attending the UFC event in OKC on Wednesday night and am looking forward to it. I plan on visiting with Dan Hodge while there. How cool is that?
My guess is that if Jerry Lawler is elected Mayor of Memphis that the King will continue his role on Monday Night Raw. I can see some PR and marketing value for Memphis with their Mayor appearing on global TV on a weekly basis. Lawler's political opponents might disagree with that assessment. This race is still wide open.
Cowboy Bill Watts has been added to the next Legend's Roundtable panel and will be joining Michael Hayes, Jimmy Garvin, and J.J. Dillon to discuss "The Lost Art of the Wrestling Manager," and "The Culture of Southern Wrestling" which will be taped in Stamford, Ct on Wednesday September 30. I've already started my prep work on these two shows that have the potential to be highly entertaining.
If I am not mistaken, saying that The Undertaker has never lost a match via tap-out or submission is an accurate statement. If not, perhaps all of us are making more of this bit of trivia that is called for. Sunday's conclusion to the main event in Montreal hit close to home for me and I wasn't comfortable leaving the arena but one would have had to have been in my shoes 12 years ago to fully understand that emotion.
I make a Kanye West reference on Smackdown Friday night that I'd bet a slab of ribs that it doesn't make air. Seems I sorta butchered Mr. West's name, as if I lost any sleep over it.
Apparently after what was taped in Hamilton on Tuesday night and that will air on Friday Night Smackdown, the Great Khali will likely have to undergo knee surgery sooner than later. Khali's wheels weren't great to start with and they were done no favors Tuesday night in a match with Kane. I hope that WWE sends Khali to Dr. James Andrews to handle this matter. Dr. Andrews can repair the damage, hopefully, but Khali is the one that will have to be diligent in his rehab/physical therapy.
Batista returns to Smackdown Friday night and kicks off the show. Batista also wrestles in the main event Friday night.
I enjoyed Raw Monday night from Toronto. I don't know what Trish Stratus could do that I wouldn't like....I'm just saying. It seemed that Trish had a good time but I think she's migrated nicely back into civilian life and has many opportunities to explore. Someone asked me if I ever thought if Trish would get back in WWE for a designated length of time and hit the road again and my assumption is, no....or a Monsoon-like, "Highly Unlikely."
Dolph Ziggler faces Finlay aka Dave "Fit" Finlay on WGN America's WWE Superstars Thursday night. This duo has a nice bout and I felt that Ziggler, who was a tool to Pat Paterson in Montreal, really stepped up his game in the pure toughness department against Finlay.
BTW what is the fascination that to have a "cool" wrestling name that the name has to be only one word?
Ziggler will face John Morrison at "Hell in a Cell" in about three weeks but it will not be in a Cell but it will be for the IC Title. I'm just guessing here but I see three actual Hell in a Cell bouts at the Newark, N.J. PPV of which ticket sales are said to be brisk.
Interesting "roll out," so to speak, for Scotland's Drew McIntyre on recent Friday Night Smackdown broadcasts and there's more coming this Friday. McIntyre has talent and how well he and others can put the Scot's game together as time moves forward has my interest. I like Drew's aggressive nature and he has a Rick Rude-esque type of physique and is only 24 years of age. Drew McIntyre's another talent to keep one's eye on. (I promise that some one will email me and want to discuss McIntyre's "push" not knowing that it takes more than the perceived "push" to make one a main eventer. For the record, the vast majority of "push" emails get smoked.
Just curious, would any one be interested in a case price deal on our Beef Jerky that would include FREE SHIPPING? If there is enough interest, it is something that I would seriously consider.
Finally, our condolences go out to Mick Foley and his family for the loss of Mick's Dad who was the original "Cactus Jack." Jack Foley was a life long educator who loved helping young people enjoy their educational experience and facilitating them beginning their career in higher education. Mr. Foley was a respected Athletic Director on Long Island, New York for years. I had the honor of meeting Mr. Foley a few times and he was a class act and one could tell that he was a man of character and dignity.
Thanks for stopping by and because I will be not on an airplane for a few days, Smackdown is in drivable Tulsa next Tuesday at the BOK Center, I hope to update the site often.

At last Jeff hardy has broken his silence and is back communicating to his fans ......but why is he keeping mum on the drug trafficking case.we as fans who has supported you all through out your career has a right to know whether this allegation is a hoax or not ....you owe us an explanation Jeff ...nothing in this world counts other than your explanation but when you are keeping mum it is giving more leverage to your enemies .

"...there are lots of avenues of speculation, but hopefully there is be a viable explanation.." Looking forward to a more specific case as it's not fair to be accused without basis. hampers

I'm with you JR, the correct answer to the "has Undertaker ever tapped out" question is...........who gives a sh**?
Regarding the interest in a case price for jerky........my answer is yes so long as the deal includes Canadian customers. I actually haven't sampled the jerky yet as I'm expecting my first delivery next week, so perhaps I should reserve my official answer until then.
Can't tell you how happy I am to hear that Bill Watts will be part of the next Legends tapings. I thought he was excellent in his previous appearance. Michael Hayes, whose wrestling persona I never cared for, is also fantastic in this environment. I'm not trying to hurt anyone's feelings, but these shows can do without Sgt. Slaughter and Jerry Lawler. Neither contributed anything of consequence, and they tend stay in "kayfabe" mode which is not what these shows need in my opinion.
Please keep up the great work on Smackdown JR. I can't overemphasize how this show has become the #1 WWE offering in my mind. Raw should change it's name to "Monday Night Titans." (80s fans will understand that reference.)
The Undertaker did tap-out to Kurt Angle on an episode of Smackdown back in the summer of 2002.

Hi. J.R.
Thanks for the info regarding SD.
Speaking about Jeff, I've just watched the steel cage match where Jeff lost against Punk and it reminded me of the passion that Jeff has for the biz. I also noticed how many of the fans cried for the fact that Jeff is leaving wwe and now as we know he is involved in drugs, who does things like that.
Cant wait for SD because I know like I always do that SD will be a wild show ones again. Can't wait for Hell in the Cell also.
thanks again
I look forward to the taping this coming tuesday. This will be the first time I've seen good ol JR broadcasting live since 1986, when our esteemed host was seated next to Ernie Ladd. An amazing dual-tv taping, if I remember right...One Man Gang won the UWF world title that night from Terry Gordy by default. Gordy had his arm injured earlier in the evening by a returning Steve "Dr. Death" Williams...Amazing how I can remember all of that yet forget my wife's birthday!
Question for JR-What incentive do we "old time" fans have for viewing a PG rated "Hell in a Cell"? Not that I think every match has to be blood-soaked, but come on...has there ever been a HIAC match w/out blood? Please don't say the athletic ability or storytelling because we had those before, plus the added tension of potential over-the-top violence at every turn. Thank you.
Hopefully my questions don't fall in the lame category.
Trish looked great as a brunette! Emphatically YES on the case of jerky!
Hey JR. I too enjoyed Trish on Raw. Is it just me, or is she getting better looking over time? Don't get me wrong, I have always thought she was absolutely beautiful, but this past Monday....WOW!! I figured your a good person to ask, as you have been around her alot over the years.
Don't know what it was. Maybe it's the brunette hair, or maybe it's just all the yoga she's been doing. But I don't think it's overstating things to say she never looked better than this past Monday. Actually, I have seen quite a bit of her appearances since leaving WWE. And no disrespect to your profession, but leaving wrestling has done nothing but wonders for Trish, especially physically.
I've been reading about Linda McMahon and her decision to run for the Senate. I wish her all the best with this, I really do. Already we're hearing all the wrestling puns with the news, "She's gonna climb into the political ring, Smackdown the democrats, put a headlock on the deficit, yada yada...", as well as the concerns that her affiliation with the WWE circus will hurt her. When it comes to Linda I leave the wrestling references to the side. I never concidered her a part of the "wrestling" business, her front-end involvement was few and far between and she was the least-comfortable in front of the camera of all the family. Instead I prefer to think that for nearly 30 years Linda McMahon has been a leading executive in one of the most successful international entertainment companies on Earth. Vince had the dream but it was Lindas administrative genius that made the machine work. And if she can successfully bring those skills to Congress then more power to her..
about jeff hardy, there's no smoke without fire.has much has im in love with jeff hardy[who isnt],they should lock him up and throw away the key.he bought it on himself.i dont feel sorry for him so why should others.you dont know whats going on behind closed doors or in a persons mind.maybe thats why jeff chose to leave has to do all that stuff.he's going to be another heath ledger, you just watch.taking down his twitter page goes to show he is guilty with a guilty concious, dont know why beth puts up with it,i wouldnt. also why cant wrestlers wrestle under there own name, dolph should wrestle under his own name or even a decent fake name.so if the great khali isnt going to be around wrestling, does that mean that the gorgeous rajun singh wont be around has well?hope not,i love him.also seeing the same matches is boring.if it were up to me i let randy orton keep the belt forever.also the wwe should give other wrestlers a chance of holding the wwe, heavyweight belts like john morrison, mvp, jack swagger, vladir kozlov, greg helms, christian, cody rhodes, carlito, chris masters to name a few. also if this raw guest host still carries on when the wwe tour england, who is it going to be?has anyone thought of that far ahead?
YES, YES, AND YES ON THE CASE OF JERKY.
