Now this is what I am talking about! It's football time in Soonerland and this Saturday’s nationally televised game on ABC featuring the #5 nationally ranked Oklahoma Sooners and the Miami Hurricane is, without question, the most eagerly anticipated, non-Big 12 game to be played in Norman many years. Miami, 1-0 after beating Marshall in their season opener last week, is led by first-year Coach Randy Shannon, a former ‘Cane player who has been affiliated with this historic program his entire adult life. “The U”, as they like to be called, looks to vault back into the national spotlight they are so accustomed to with a win Saturday in Norman over the Sooners, who elevated from #8 in the national polls to 5th after Michigan’s stunning loss to Appalachian State in the Big House last Saturday. hi jr, i am enjoying the Sooners season, i am really impressed with Quarterback Sam Bradford, i am ready for the next game, cant wait till they play texas because when my sooners win my girlfriend and my mom will have to wear a sooner shirt. anyway take care and hope to see the sooners in san antonio

JR have you ever made bbq ribs in a crock pot? If so any advice on what to add to the pot? I made them for the first time today before some NFL football and they came out very nice.

Hey JR, big fan of "The U" writing in. Good showing by OU today, but I wanted to ask you something: Do you think this brings any sense of redemption back to Sooner country? I mean, they did beat Miami, but this is nowhere near the caliber team the 'Canes were in the '80's, or even 2 or 3 years ago. I wish OU all the best in their hunt for an 8th national title. Here's hoping we can meet up again down the road when both teams are at their peaks! Too bad it won't be at the Orange Bowl, though :(

Hi JR! Why isn't Shane pushed more as the lead McMahon heel? He's terrible and forced when trying the babyface act and the only time he really gets over with the crowd is if he does a big "stunt" or uses RVD's old move. But as a heel he's easy and fun to hate, plus, it would seem that creative would want to groom him to take Vince's place as a character. He's really the only Mcmahon that can pull off evil the way Vince has for so many years. Also, I think the crazy Vince character is a riot. Any chance we'll get to see him in a babyface run anytime soon? He's very entertaining and given the right storyline, I think people would really get behind him. He's really the only McMahon that can play both a heel and a face equally as well. Thanks for reading JR!

I saw that Jeff was your last "Superstar of the Week." Good deal. I agree that sometimes you have to get a little unorthodox to win. I can't think of any previous title holders who didn't win at least once under unique circumstances. What I wanted to ask you, though, has to do with Sooner football. Do you think Miami's DLine provided OU with the best test that will allow our OL to stand up to any of our conference opponents? Texas always seems to have a tough Dline, but they don't have a 6'8" monster, like Calais Campbell. Also, I don't know if you've caught the broadcast, but one of the announcers gave a pretty glowing review of your restaurant on national television. In his own words, "Some of the best food I have ever had in my life." Keep up the good work, and thanks for taking time to answer everyones' questions.

Hey J.R., Great game today, the Sooners looked awesome! Hey I saw you on TV, they even mentioned the BBQ place! Free publicity for good ol' J.R.! Sir I'm wondering what your thoughts are with this whole Michigan debacle. They were supposed to be a good team this year, highly rated in the pre-season polls, but the wheels seem to have come off early. Is this a coaching problem, or are they just not that good? Being an Ohio State fan and living in wolverine country I happen to be enjoying it in a sad sort of way. Keep up the good work Sir, look forward to reading your next blog! Brad

At 8:07 left in the 3rd quarter of the OU-Miami game (a few plays before the Gresham TD), ABC zoomed in on you, the announcers mentioned that they'd eaten at your place Friday night, and said it was some of the best food they'd ever had. Great free ad!

Do you think the WWE is making SmackDown! Fans A Bit Bored by letting Batista challenge for the title all the time? I mean he has been in 7/8 title matches counting from WM 23 and the 8th match was when Edge cashed in his money in the bank after The True Champ Undertaker was in a steel cage match (whit Batista might i add) and now hes been forced into the match between Khali & Mysterio even if he had done nothing to deserve it? Whats up whit that? P.S: Put Batista to ECW!

What would it take for WWE brass to bring back Macho Man Randy Savage???? Many of us have been waiting since he departed WCW in 2000, and even more since he left in WWE in 1994. I just hope WWE doesnt drop the ball on this, like they did with Hulk Hogan post-Summerslam 06.
