J.R.'s Superstar of the Week - Shawn Michaels (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the 200X, black Resistol hat from the soon-to-be “Baron of Barbeque,” who is thinking OU vs. mighty Mizzou Saturday night and then the much anticipated trip across the pond to broadcast Monday Night Raw from Birmingham, England. What a weekend it was down in Von Erich Country in Big D where the Oklahoma Sooners polished off the Texas Longhorns in a heck of a college football game called the Red River Shootout. Some of my Texas-bred WWE brethren had the boo-boo face on Sunday when I saw them in Chicago at No Mercy, but I am not one to rub salt in open wounds because what goes around always comes around. Hi Mr. Ross! Good News: Just so that you know, Lawler and yourself call great matches! It reminds of the old school days of Monsoon, Heenan and The Body calling the matches; lots of emotion and great story telling, truly you both are talented! Lawler and you are great, please keep calling the matches. Bad News: Is it me or the quality and quantity of the matches gone down considerably? From a 2 hour show, there was about 30 minutes worth of wrestling. I'm not going to sit here and say I know all because I don't, but from someone watching "the business" for the past 20 years, the difference is clear. Obviously there will never be the likes of Brody, Chris Adams or another Minnesota Wrecking Crew, Horseman or Demolition or Rock-n-Roll Express, but it seems that the WWE/WWF has lost or is losing that flavor and edge it held of NWA/WCW and WCCW. I hope I am wrong, please tell me I'm wrong! Again Mr. Ross, please keep calling the show, I like the emotion and story telling. God Speed!
