J.R.'s Superstar of the Week - Shawn Michaels (from WWE.com)

Posted in:
Greetings from under the 200X, black Resistol hat from a barbecue lovin’ Oklahoma Sooner who has had an exciting week in Washington, D.C., Philadelphia and in Orlando, Fla., where promotion for WrestleMania 24 has gotten underway in grand fashion. This week’s Raw Superstar of the Week is The Showstopper himself, Shawn Michaels, who not only created an opportunity for Mr. McMahon to soil himself when the two polar opposites had a verbal confrontation in the ring, but also was Johnny-on-the-spot when Triple H was in danger of being physically exiled from the WWE by the dangerous duo of WWE Champion Randy “I am a Beautiful Man” Orton and the large Samoan SUV known as Umaga. I know in this blog you are talking about presant day superstars but I still have fond memories of stars from the past. One in particular is "The Russian Nightmare" Nikita Koloff. I can remember him as one of the great heels during his time along with Ivan. I can remember watching him on tv and despising him for his actions but being impressed with his strength and in ring performance. Within the last year I have come to know "Nik" through a mutual aquaintance and I consider him a very good friend of mine. I am just curious to know what if any opinions do you have of him now and or during the height of his career? Also,it seems that now wrestling has lost the willingness to have storylines that involve current events. It's just wrestler vs. wrestler now. Do you think wrestling has become too politically correct? Why don't we see storylines like that any more? One of the better storylines recently that could be compared to the old ones was the one with Muhammad Hasaan and Davari. Yeah it pushed the envelope a little but that's what made it interesting. What do you think? Thanks Daniel
