More False Info on a Wrestling Website aka Manure... Friday Update

Posted in:

It often times amazes me when seemingly intelligent people believe most every thing that they read on selected, wrestling websites. News Flash.....some wrestling websites are loaded with manure. Here's why....

I was told that on an unnamed website that "J.R. announced on his website that HBK was retiring" which is totally false. Not only did I NOT report this load of fertilizer I specifically stated that I did not think that either Shawn Michaels or The Undertaker would retire in 2009 and that I had no knowledge that either would even retire in 2010. Why would sites print such garbage which then people read and accept this stuff as truth?

After their classic battle at WM25 both veterans, who are unquestionably headed to the WWE Hall of Fame one day, needed time off to recover and re-charge their batteries. What those two men did to their own bodies in that match in Houston will be talked about for years.....and it should. I do not remember seeing a greater match at any Wrestlemania nor do I recall seeing a better match any where involving two men who are both north of 40.

I do think that Taker will compete longer than HBK but I don't think either are ready to say adiós as of yet. When either retires it will be handled with class and with huge fanfare and it isn't on the drawing board as we speak. I fully expect both Taker and Shawn to be back touring no later than the WWE's Fall International Tour but likely much earlier than that.

This same website had an alleged photo of me in a J.R.'s BBQ Restaurant uniform. Only problem with that is that our staff doesn't wear uniforms. That's only a small detail even though there are plenty of photos out there with me wearing a "J.R.'s BBQ" shirt or T shirt but, sorry,  no uniform.

We're getting lots of emails about C.M. Punk and whether he is fish or fowl as in a fan favorite or a villain nowadays after beating Jeff Hardy while cashing in Punk's Money in the Bank Contract last Sunday in New Orleans. Now, Punk may well wind up out of favor with some fans, perhaps even the majority of the fans, but I don't know that. If it happens, so be it. If Punk's opportunistic endeavors at Extreme Rules make him a bigger star albeit a despised one, then that's a good thing. Punk does have an attitude as I have mentioned before and is arguably not the most popular guy in the SD locker room but there are also no cash bonuses being paid for being named Mr. Congeniality. If you  want to boo Punk, then have at it, but don't hold it against him simply because he was smart in cashing in his MIB contract at an opportune time. Do I think at the end of the day Punk will gain favor with the fans? It damned sure won't happen in Charlotte Monday night and I would say that chances are it probably won't happen in the near future either. For the record, Punk appears to me, and I might be dead wrong,  that he really doesn't care one way or another. One thing about this matter is that is adds a different dimension and dynamic to Friday Night Smackdown which I think helps the broadcast.

I thought it was pretty cool that Joey Styles snapped the ECW World Title on Tommy Dreamer backstage at Extreme Rules and that both men had tears in their eyes while doing it. Some younger fans may roll their eyes at this information but it is called "passion" and truly loving what one does and respecting their roots. If that is wrong then many of us are on the other side of being right.

Dave Batista tore a biceps tendon and not the biceps itself as I understand it but "The Animal" will still likely be on the shelf for about 4 months but only Mother Nature knows for sure how fast the big guy will heal. Dave's back at home in Florida and one always heals better with the old, home field advantage in their favor.

Have you checked out www.wrestlersrescue.org and chipped in to help Steve 'Dr. Death" Williams' quest to have a hands free device placed in his throat that was ravaged by cancer? Donations of any amount help. I know that Coach Barry Switzer is sending Doc $1,000 directly to Doc to help with the overall goal of raising $20K.

The Mrs. and I are heading to the annual Toby Keith charity function to benefit Kids with Cancer and their parents. Toby is a good pal and fellow Okie who does many great deeds for others without fanfare. Last year Roger Clemens attended but for some reason I would be surprised to see "The Rocket" at the function Saturday night but one never knows.

J.R. you are manure. Your family is manure. You little, short, deformed bastard, you think you are all high society when you are nothing more than manure, just as you claim others are. I want to spit right in your face boy.

JR,

I respect the contribution that you have given to the business over the many years and no doubt you have taken many shots to be in and remain in the position your in. No doubt many would not put up with Vince and would have walked out of the WWE politcal circus long ago and you have stayed in there in high style  I just hope it hasn't degraded your integrity in any form.In a way your like Sting in the old WCW who was lied to , misled, and taken advantage of but yet he stayed loyal.I like your respect for men like Sting, Steve Williams and other quality performers who have given much to the business.

I was not always a Sean Michael's fan but his change of heart in recent years and his faith has put me on his side.I would hope the WWE would give him a very quality send off both in the script and in reality when he decides to hang up the boots which I believe is closer than what we think. This man has been very loyal to the WWE  for many years and carried the WWE/WWF during some very lean years, times in which the WWE/WWF almost went under.May his final match/send off be carried out in a manner that is very respectful to his years of devoted service to the WWE.

I'm not a Marc Callaway fan because I'm not a occultist or into his character but I have to say the man has a committed work ethic /loyalty that very few in the business are able to match up too both in years of service and in quality.I have to say I liked the biker gimmick he had several years ago and personally would like to see him return to it.Again I think his retirement is sooner than we think. I don't think his body can keep up with the road travel/shows, etc. just based on the grueling schedule and the bad effects the years of service to the business have had on his body.

JR I agree with you about the BS on the wrestling news web sites and many times that's all it is BS. However at the same time there are true sports entertainment fans who want to the realities of the business and what's really happening behind the scenes and don't want to have to figure out from the scripts as far as what has happened to so & so , etc. With that said I believe  more truthful /straight forward press releases/comments from the WWE/TNA /ROH, etc . may help clean up the BS /rumors that is put out on the internet about whats happening behind the scenes at shows , etc.

Thanks for the service the WWE provides for our troops overseas.Thank You for the respect you folks show our troops.

Hey JR,

Almost every conceived, truly emotional moment in WWE in recent memory I have shed tears at when viewing it. So like you say when Joey and Tommy shed with the snapping of the belt...it's true...it's passion for the business and I would venture I'm the furthest out there on the limb that I know of not in the biz.

Have you mentioned the Wrestler's Rescue facebook and myspace pages? Both are great pieces of "web-terial" to accelerate the knowledge and awareness of this great cause!

Hi Jim....  Chris from Saint John, NB here.  I was wondering.. with Mitsuharu Misawa's unfortunate passing, what were your thoughts on him?  How is the reaction backstage?  Do a lot of the guys know who he is, etc?

Thanks!

Chris

Please read my current blog where I address Misawa.

Sometimes I really wonder how long Batista is going to last. About the C.M. Punk thing, he shouldnt be booed, but I really dont care. And finally, when is the title picture on Smackdown gonna change? Edge and Hardy are great, but its time for a change. Hope youre doing well, J.R.

Thank you JR.  Always ggreat to hear the truth from "the horses mouth".

To Me Jericho is the Man

Giving Vicki a nice send off.. Very Cool

Yes Lillian can damn sure sing.

Glad you are doing the cases of sauce also

Must see "The Hitman" in one of your shirts.
