Plans Have Changed

This is an update on my previous blog. Not the news I wanted to share.

It has been decided that I should not risk further issues by working tonight and I am in the process of arranging a flight back to OKC so I can see a neurologist on Wednesday.

Life is about facing the challenges we encounter so I am going to do all I can to get better and back at the announce desk asap. I wish I had more answers but I simply don't at this time.

I want to be a part of Bragging Rights but only time will tell if that will be physically possible. My passion and love for the game is in tact but I have to do what's best for my long term health.

WWE has been tremendously supportive of my situatiion of which I am very grateful.

Never count me out of the game as this isn't the first mountain that I have had to climb. Jerry Lawler and Michael Cole will handle SD from Columbia. My thanks to every one for understanding this matter. Better days are on the horizon.

hope you get well soon so we can hear you back on WWE Smackdown and as well all of the PPV's..I had a friend who had bells palsy and that wasnt fun to see my best friend deal with that. He died shortly after he was diagnosed and it was the hardest thing i have been through..

I'm a HUGE fan of the WWE, the action is superb but the commentary and quotes you give out week after week keeps the fans tuning in for more. Sending you my best wishes.  When I was 24 I encountered my first bout with Bell's Palsy and it lasted nearly 9 months.  I remember being able to diagnose myself before seeing a doctor from learning of your previous encounters with the disease.  Stay strong!

In a time WAY BACK, in a land known as WCW, I had the 'BEST SEAT IN THE HOUSE', as a ringside photographer for PRO WRESTLING ILLUSTRATED. You didn't know my name, but each; everytime you saw me, you greeted me with a handshake; addressed me as 'Sir'. Maybe you were simply being cordial, but it really made an impression; meant alot to me.

I have been a pro wrestling fan since I was 5 yrs. old. To be hired by a magazine that I read as a kid was an incredible personal accomplishment for me. But when YOU greeted me---MAN! YOU ACKNOWLEDGED ME AS A FELLOW PROFESSIONAL; that feeling is something that I WILL TREASURE ALL MY LIFE!

This is a fact that I relate to my son....who may be more enthusiastic; involved than I was, if that is possible....He's 14 yrs. old; is on his high school wrestling team! 2 years ago he won tickets to SMACKDOWN from a local radio station; 'took' me with him to the BIG SHOW, instead of any of his school buds; as luck would have it, I had the opportunity to introduce him to RON SIMMONS, who was gracious enough to take a photo with him.

'Back in the day' we were in much better health. Now I am a paraplegic due to a spinal cord injury. I am forever a player in the PAIN GAME, dealing with constant chronic; excruciating pain. I will be injesting meds for the rest of my days (barring a miracle...faith; hope everlasting!)This has not diminished my enthusiasm, love, or support of the sport/business.

In a time WAY BACK, in a land known as WCW, I had the opportunity to meet Gordon Solie; Lance Russell (at the same time, at the same show; I have the only photos!) 

As far as I'm concerned, YOU SIR, are now THE ICON!
You be sure to take your meds properly, follow your doctors orders to the letter; get your proper rest. I feel safe saying that the entire wrestling world has TOO MUCH LOVE FOR YOU to rush you back behind the mike. We WILL wait patiently; simply look forward to your return. God bless you; your family.
