Greetings all and thanks for stopping by our website. Hope everyone is having a great week as my favorite holiday of the year, Thanksgiving, is just around the corner. It's also time to get serious about holiday shopping and I'm hoping that you consider JR's products this year. Easy online shopping awaits. Let's go....
The 6 man tag was really solid. Well crafted. Nice shine for Roman Reigns. Rey doesn't look 100% but I hope that I'm wrong on that assumption. Rhodes Brothers have been great to watch.
No one should sleep on the potential of Dean Ambrose or Seth Rollins considering that Reigns is getting ample, fresh spotlight these days. Both Rollins and Ambrose are going to be top hands. I'd bet BBQ sauce on it.
Ambrose has always reminded me as having some Brian Pillman and some Roddy Piper in his personality. So, if Ambrose doesn't get institutionalized (Only kidding) with those perceived personality traits, he's going to be outstanding. A little of The Loose Cannon and some of Hot Rod equates to money to me. Rollins, from day one in NXT, has always reminded me of CM Punk and I'm not sure exactly why but I perceive that it's a good thing nonetheless. Rollins match several weeks back from Daniel Bryan was one that I could watch every night.
It's obviously enviable that the Shield will implode at some point to allow the three stars to evolve separately instead of keeping all three talented men in one entity. How, where, when it happens remains to be seen but the why is a no brainer especially when WWE needs to build quality depth. This isn't the era of the Horsemen when talent depth wasn't an issue.
Punk/Bryan are a great team. For now. I hope that they are back on their own sooner than later but I've really like them as a duo in recent weeks.
Can't say that I loved the kidnapping storyline as it challenges reality. For some, that may not be an issue at all which is fine. Perhaps Kane can find Daniel Bryan. Just saying.
Loved Reigns spear of Punk. Amazing impact and a "moment." Hopefully the other talents will stop using the spear going forward.
BTW...CM Punk's promo was highly entertaining and worth watching again. Punk dropped more names than Larry King on espresso.
Anxious to see more of a vicious Bray Wyatt in the ring in the upcoming weeks. In the meanwhile, it's been good to see Rowan and Harper get some quality, TV minutes.
It was a tag team bonanza on RAW as Mark Henry, sans hair, and Big E Langston looked like they were having fun as a tag team. Man, Mid South Wrestling booker Ernie Ladd would have loved to have had Henry and 'E' at his disposal back in the day. Somehow, someway Ernie would have gotten those two to a Super Dome showdown for the Big Cowboy.
Speaking of the late, Big Cat. I brought Ernie in to talk to the talent roster years ago at a WWE TV taping. Some talents were professional and enjoyed sitting under Ernie's "Learning Tree" while several others enjoyed rolling their eyes at Ernie's oratory and advice.
Those eye rollers were too cool to listen to a Hall of Fame legend talk about what he felt that it took to "get over."
Although I'm personally not a big fan of the 'Guest Host' role on RAW when it occasionally rears its head, I thought that Michael Strahan was a good sport and handled the role well considering what he was asked to do.
Hugh Jackman and Shaq are still my two favorites in the 'Guest Host' role at least that I can think of off the top of my head. Bob Barker was memorable too.
With a new book out and other projects, if I were WWE I'd reach out to Mike Tyson for a guest shot perhaps at the Slammy Awards in two weeks in Seattle. Mike has a book to promote plus he's a big wrestling fan.
From the emails that I've received and messages on Twitter @JRsBBQ, it appears that some fans are confused about the stipulation for the main event at the TLC PPV. Both the WWE and the World Title belts will be suspended above the ring and then what? Can the first man to retrieve both titles claim ownership of each and be a dual champion? I'm not getting the impression that this is a unification match. Perhaps this will be better explained Friday night on Smackdown and/or on WWE.com.
Really busy night at the announce desk with all three guys challenged to bring forward and provide tons of information that often times took my attention from the action in the ring. When audio is about one topic that isn't tied to the video one is watching, things have a way of disconnecting.
The promos for the TLC PPV could be amazing especially if WWE utilizes some of the early TLC bouts as historical points of reference. The TLC match at WM17 was pretty, damn amazing. I'll have an interesting anecdote on this match in the book that I hope to write in 2014.
We finalized today that my first "Evening with Jim Ross...The Voice of Wrestling" event will definitely be held in New York City, likely in March. It will be my first show ever in North America and will be one night only. We hope to have the exact date, the venue and the ticket on sale information available early next week. Just finishing up some last minute details that we hope to have done Wednesday. I'm very excited about this opportunity to have an intimate, entertaining evening with the great fans who have supported me and the wrestling business for years.
The online shopping sites such as http://www.wweshop.com, http://www.americansoda.co.uk, and http://www.beyondtheropes have some great deals on JR's products that make great holiday gifts and stocking stuffers. Many come with personally signed items that are included in the packages for free. I hope that you will check them out.
Loved the WWE tribute to Mad Dog Vachon. Really nice touch and the video on wwe.com was excellent. I wish the video had aired inside the show after watching it online.
The Q&A's are updated and include the damnest question that I ever thought that I'd ever be asked on this site.
Got a meeting next week about the possibility of doing a weekly podcast.
The WWEShop.com site is temporarily out of JR's Main Event Mustard so please....stand by. Business has picked up!
Going to Bedlam Wrestling Sunday in Norman that pits OU vs. OSU. If I see any prospects I'll provide the info to old pal Gerald Brisco who's WWE's ace, college wrestling scout. Most folks don't know how valuable Jerry has been to WWE over the years.
Man, I sure do.
Be well and come back and see us.
