RED HOT TAG

Redneck Gift Buckets?.. Carl Demarco is a Good Man.. More A.D... Bye Bye Billy Callahan.. Hodge vs. Matsuda.. Monday Night Orgas

Take a special look at the “Redneck Gift Buckets.” These are sure to be a hit this holiday season. My thanks to all of you that are including product from J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q in your holiday gift giving plans. We are shipping out most orders within hours of receiving them from you… usually via Federal Express Ground. We ship worldwide, but I do suggest you don’t wait too long to insure that your order gets to you on time and intact. My Webmaster says there is much more work to be done on the site, so we would like to take this opportunity to get help from you. Take a look around, especially in the new store, and let us know of anything that isn’t working properly or could be tweaked a little. We would also like to know other things you would like to see. The Webmaster has set up a blog for this, so be sure and post any suggestions there, we would really appreciate it. Bar-B-Qed Feedback Time: Jim Reedyk- Jim you are absolutely right when you say that the head man of WWE/Canada is a true class act and one of the hardest working individuals in the company. Carl DeMarco loves what he does for a living, which makes all the difference in the world and something I strongly recommend that any young person focus on as they think about their life’s work. I am happy you enjoyed your Wrestlemania 23 experience, as the train ride to Detroit sounded like fun. Al from NJ- Adrian Peterson is amazingly gifted and was a wonderful Sooner to be sure. I met AD when he was a high school senior and have grown to know AD well. He is a grounded young man who has been faced with a litany of challenges over his life on a personal level and he has prevailed. #28 knows no fear and the way he runs the ball should indicate such. When I saw AD in Dallas for the OU-Texas Slobber-Knocker, AD was with his little brother and not with a “posse,” and it is highly unlikely that AD will ever find himself in a position such as Pacman Jones has found himself in this NFL season. That’s another reason individuals should always try and surround themselves with good people and not bottom feeders. Dan- Interesting point you make about fans 25 and under, and how they perceive Stone Cold Steve Austin. Many in that demo perhaps didn’t see the Austin Era in the WWE, which provided a magnificent spark to the business. Being so close to Steve I realize I am not unbiased when it comes to my thoughts on him and what he has meant to the business and all his tremendous contributions. However, I have no apologies when it comes to what I have said in the past about my friend. Plus, believe it or not, I liked “The Condemned.” theBestThereis- When we step back and think about what the Fabulous Moolah and Mae Young have done on Monday Night Raw over the past few years, at their age it is extraordinary. Moolah may not have been overly popular with some of her peers because Moolah had the political influences with the promoters, but no one can ever deny Moolah’s ever lasting influence and contributions to the business over 6 decades. Johnny- Billy Callahan is about as likely to be coaching the Nebraska Cornhuskers next year as yours truly, and I am not looking for more work nor am I qualified. Nebraska is a proud program that will undoubtedly bounce back, but with the recruiting situation as it is, it may take 2-3 seasons. If I were the rest of the Big 12 North, my sense of recruiting urgency would be heightened. Dustin- Mizzou vs. Kansas is the game this year and it will be at Arrowhead Stadium, which I applaud. Chase Daniel is the real deal and the Tigers are a physical team to say the least. I saw them play OU in person from the sideline and Mizzou is well coached and has legit talent. Mark in South Africa- Freddy Joe Floyd aka Tracey Smothers is still wrestling from what I understand and is hopefully doing well. A tough guy to say the least. By the way, that name came from Jack and Jerry Brisco, if you are keeping score at home. Mr. McMahon is perfect in his role on WWE TV, in my opinion, because the best antagonists in any field are the ones that are the easiest to naturally dislike. Mr. McMahon knows the buttons to push to elicit the desired response out of the audience. Quite honestly, that is an elusive art form. Deanuk- The Rock’s “This is Your Life” segment on Raw a few years ago is one of the more memorable segments ever on Monday night. It was an amazing experience as the King and I simply had to stay out of the way and enjoy it like the fans we are. Rock and Mick Foley executed like pros that night without a doubt. Key term… talent execution… which is never a “lay-up”. Yogita- I always thought the best mysteries were the ones I could not easily figure out, which is why the vignettes that air on WWE programming are so provocative, as no one knows exactly when… where… how… why, you get the picture. Like I tell myself… just stay tuned. BM- Nice initials… nonetheless we are developing a Teriyaki flavored Jerky and it will be available soon to join the other 4 flavors we have now available to ship to your front door. Shannon- I felt very honored to be asked to write the foreword for Chris Jericho’s book, “A Lion’s Tail, Around the World in Spandex”. I wholeheartedly suggest to any fan to read this one, least of all for my foreword, but I am glad that you liked it. By the way, my wife is reading Batista’s book as we speak and is really enjoying it. brainman214- When I first got into the business the promoter LeRoy McGuirk had me watch Gordon Solie, alone, and do the commentary for the Danny Hodge vs. Hiro Matsuda NWA Junior Heavyweight Title bout from Tampa over and over. I studied Gordon’s psychology, timing, and the choice of words he used to describe a classic wrestling match. So yes, on many occasions when I was starting to find my way as a broadcaster, Gordon Solie provided me with inspiration and motivation. He still does to this very day, as I think I have plenty of room to improve my game and I go to work every Monday with that thought in mind… to be better than I was last week. Harry- I need to find some of those old WCW comic books I appeared in and get them ready for our next BBQ Restaurant. If any one out there has any of these or any other memorabilia they want to make available just let us know here on our site. We might be able to orchestrate an interesting trade. Glad you are enjoying our cookbooks, too. Zach- The whereabouts of Tiger Chung Lee? Beats me but I have not seen him in Norman lately or eating “Q”. Mark- I never dreamed my comments about the recent Diva Halloween Costume Contest would cause such a stir. This might be one of those “much to do’s about nothing” moments. Was it that far off base? Joseph- I wish J.R.’s BBQ in the Albuquerque Airport the best, but I have never tested them. If I am ever at their airport I will check it out, but our two ventures are not related. Eric- I can’t speak to the Batista book signing you wrote us about, as I was not there except to say that most store managers do not want the talents to not be able to sign for all those standing in line and the longer the lines the quicker the line has to be processed. From my experience personalizing one’s autograph is not prohibited by the WWE, but sometimes it is impossible to personalize if the lines are too long for the normal two hours allotted for the signings. I am sure those that were on hand for the signing yours truly was involved with in Orlando a few weeks ago, would concur inasmuch as we personalized and took photos because our line of 250-300 folks was manageable. Brian- I like poker’s Mike “The Mouth” Matasow and “The Brat”, Phil Hellmuth, perhaps being wrestling managers, but much like yours truly, they don’t need to be seen by women or children in wrestling tights. Charles- Regarding the FU and the STFU, yes, use your imagination and it will become crystal clear to you what they stand for… or not. Davinder/UK- I like Michael Cole’s voice just fine and I have no issues with him or Joey Styles introducing a PPV. It is a team effort and I pride myself in being a team player. JZA- Indeed Smoky Mountain Wrestling’s Gangstas were very cutting edge and politically incorrect. I don’t know on a global basis if that would play well in today’s marketplace though. jwallstram- Arkansas, Nebraska, and Texas A&M will all likely be looking for new head football coaches after this season ends. Texas Tech’s Mike Leach is a brilliant mind and would fit nicely at any of the aforementioned schools, but especially at Arkansas in the SEC. Leach is hugely popular in Norman as he made many friends here and everyone I know that knows Coach Leach thinks the world of him. I love his dry wit and his football IQ. Allen- When King and I travel, he drives and I navigate, but he has first dibs on the radio station. However, we like the same music and usually listen to Classic Rock or a good Oldies station and occasionally some Country, until they start singing those heartbreak songs and then we tag out. I agree that Sting facing Flair anytime soon is not too likely. James- I do remember meeting you in the King’s driveway. I never heard any issues from King whatsoever, so all is well. Hope to see you at J.R.’s in Norman one of these days. Andy P- HBK was a challenging individual to be around back in the day and that has made for an interesting journey between he and I. Our relationship today is excellent and I am proud of the man that Shawn Michaels has become. The interview he referenced in his book, which is an excellent read by the way, was when he loaded his shorts with socks or something to annoy me. It was sophomoric, but funny when I look back on it… the interview, not the manhood. Jason- I am a big believer that the greats of former generations such as the folks you mentioned like The Briscos, The Funks, Antonio Inoki, Lou Thesz, Buddy Rogers, etc. would be hugely popular in today’s marketplace because they had great in ring skills and were all intelligent athletes that would adapt to today’s marketplace. We look forward to your order for some Jerky and Sauce. Thanks! Adam Rothchild- Sorry you were so offended by my flippant remark about the Diva Halloween Costume Contest and that my comments were deemed “unprofessional” by you. But if you were one of the divas in question, then we would have a bigger story to cover as a diva named Adam scares me. Lighten up Francis! Terry- When I hired talent, I always felt that if an individual was simply looking for a job and not a career that they had less of a chance of succeeding. Passionless paychecks don’t last long. To be a long term star in this business, one must be a fan of the business and a student of it. That’s my story and I will always stick to it. Hawkeye- We still have autographed copies of J.R.’s Cookbook and we pay the shipping for those that reside in the continental United States. I will be happy to sign one for you. I too, miss the days of the UWF, largely because I was well on my journey and was MUCH YOUNGER!! April- Gregory Helms is healing from neck surgery, but is healing nicely as I understand it. I don’t expect him to be medically cleared for a few more months. Ben- Santino Marella has been a pleasant highlight on Raw in my view. He makes me laugh, which makes it hard for me to dislike the rascal. His remark about J.R. having an orgasm re: Austin arriving on the LA Raw was funny as hell. Mentioning “J.R.” and an “orgasm” in the same sentence is a first for Raw. Jeremy- I wholeheartedly believe that HBK has a legit shot at winning the WWE Title at Survivor Series. That’s not towing the company line, but how I legitimately feel. Michaels is an artisan who travels in a small circle. Thanks for checking out our site and for telling a friend. We want to grow our business and appreciate all of you that visit us here and that shop with us too. Without your continued business we wouldn’t be around and thus far we are growing amazingly well. Thanks again for all you do for us here at J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q. BOOMER SOONER!! J.R.

Why has the crusierweight division/title been disbanded? There are plently of quality cruiserweights to sustain a division.

Hey, JR. I was hugely disappointed that I wasnt able to make it to the survivor series show in melbourne this past weekend... Its the first time Ive been able to afford it since global warming... Is there any possible way to be involved next time that WWE comes to the land of OZ? Ive been fully trained by a former 2 time rcw champ, kash kourageous... Ill work for the bus/train fare over to melbourne... Ill work dark matches, job duty for the monsters, ill help the crew set up their equipment, it doesnt bother me. Honestly, i know ill never be good enough for WWE, or TNA. I just want to step into a WWE ring one time...

hi jr,question do you know when or might have an idea when tickets for wrestlemaina fan fest and hall of honor will be going on sale and where they are going to be held at??

JR, Do you know what TAKA Michinoku or Aguila is up to these days? You seemed to be big fans of them when they had their WWE run back in the day. I thoroughly enjoyed their match at Wrestlemania 14 and miss that kind of high-flying action. I hope the WWE resurrects the Cruiserweight Championship when the time is right.

hey jr im just wondering if you got a update on sid vicious i aint herd nothing in a long time about him just wondering if he ever wrestler again. injoy seeing you on raw every monday nights keep up the good word heres my email if you got any updates on him brianrosshicks@comcast.net thanks brian hicks

Quick question: Do you think that having Batista and Undertaker decimate the World tag champs on RAW is a "slap in the face" to the tag division? It seems that in days gone by, the World tag titles were highly esteemed and would've never been fed to another team as basically a squash or "warm-up" match. I don't think that Demolition, or the Road Warriors, or the Hart Foundation (as examples), would've been squashed on national TV during their title reigns . . . but it seems sometimes like the World tag belts are basically just an afterthought in today's WWE. Your thoughts? I think there were plenty of other teams (makeshift or otherwise) that could've been used without making the tag champs look like jobbers . . .

What are your thoughts on having a Legends' expo during Wrestlemania weekend? I think it would be great to have to go along with the Hall of Fame ceremonies. Bring back some of the WWE/F greats for meet and greets, autographs and (if a few are up for it physically) some matches. There are some old timers that have worked for the company that still lace them up on occasion. That would be a great thing to watch (and possible a good TV program for a pre-Wrestlemania special).

Hi J.R., Big wrestling fan here. I just wanted to get your opinion on the WWE Divas compared to the TNA Knockouts. If you haven't gotten the chance to check them out, perhaps you should. Those women wrestle in a way that reminds me of the 'olden' days of women wrestling. They're beautiful and for the most part have pretty great matches. TNA has a female wrestler, Amazing Kong, who is not the "type" WWE generally goes for but has apparently gotten a lot of reaction from the fans. Shouldn't the WWE learn from this and forget so much about the "looks over talent" approach and focus more on better matches and storylines when it comes to the WWE Divas? I hope I didn't offend anybody as that's not my intentions. Thanks!

Dear Mr. Ross: I haven’t posted anything of substance on your site in a while, but I figured I would drop in and say something that I noticed last night on Raw. I have said before that you are the best play by play guy in the business, but there is another individual on the Raw announce team that deserves accolades: Jerry Lawler. I think Jerry Lawler is one of the best in business, for a number of reasons. First, Lawler has been and still is an excellent color commentary analyst. He is so good at color commentary, it’s easy to forget he is a wrestler, which brings me to my next point. Jerry Lawler is a top notch in ring performer. His match last night with Santino reminded me of this. The King is more technically sound and has first-class timing. He has better fundamentals than 90% of the current generation of wrestlers. Finally, the guy has consistency. Consistency is one of the most overlooked aspects in wrestling. A lot of people who were talented only lasted a short while. On the other hand, there are people that have been around for decades but have long since lost their drive, dedication, or pride for the wrestling industry. Simply put, Lawler is the man. I guess that’s why they call him The King. Sean, Baltimore, MD

Will the WWE be doing there Tribute to the Troops Tv show this year?

Since Oklahoma's 100 Centennial is coming up, how will you be celebrating it?

I have allways like Y2J since he left WCW and came to the WWE. Now that he has decided to come back, how big of a part will Chris play on RAW now that superstars are so injury pron today. Who do you think his first apponent to go against will be?

Hi JR I was wondering if you would agree with the statement that Adrian Peterson's physical running style will limit his NFL career to only 7-8 seasons. I am a Minnesota Vikings fan and when I hear statements like that it makes me worried. Adrian Peterson is a huge reason that the Vikes have won any games at all this year and if they hope to make a run at the superbowl, he has to be there for them.

Hey JR, I could be completely wrong but it seems that slowly all the brands are merging back together. What do you like more 3 seperate brands or all of them combined?

Will Georgia Championship Wrestling ever air on WWE 24/7.

JR, The Survivor Series card looks awesome for the most part. Honestly though, I'm not too excited for the Horny vs Khali match. I'm sure there's something entertaining planned, but Cade/Murdoch, London/Kendrick, Rhodes/Holly, Knoble and a slew of others might be better suited to use that coveted pay-per-view time. Hell, replace it with a Santino Marella promo! Take care. ~Justin

Hi Jim, I am a huge fan of your food products. I was sincerely hoping that you have some info in regards to a possible Macho Man DVD. Thanks...appreciate it bro!

Hi Jr I was looking at the wikipedia page for bret hart the other day and it stated that Ricky Hatton took the Hitman moniker in tribute to him, not thomas hearns. Did you know that? Thanks, Danny

I got 3 questions you can answer anyone of them or all 3 if you can. How do you feel about Booker T in TNA will he do well in there? If you were boss of the day and TNA would let you borrow one star from their roster which match would you see between their star and yours? What do you think about the Motor City Machineguns Chris Sabin and Alex Shelly of TNA?

Hey JR Just wanted to say what a great time I had at Survivor Series Tour in Sydney last Friday. Special mention has to be made to a couple of superstars who probably dont get much spotlight or credit they deserve. Firstly the Divas match between Mickie James and Beth Phoenix. They ALMOST stole the show in Sydney. Well done ladies! Also Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes. I know Hardcore's been around a while now, but Sydney gave him the kudos he so richly deserves. Same for Cody - I know he is a rookie, but he performed very well. Can't wait to see you guys in Oz again, especially if its a TV taping. Tonys Ribs in Sydney JR - you'll never want to leave! PS - How bout them Detroit Lions?!

hey j.r. it brad from okmulgee.we met a few nights ago after the ou/baylor game.i just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to bs with us as my girlfriend was just in awe that you were actually at the restaurant after the game like i said you would be.you're a class act.the bbq was great too.we both loved the ribs and the smoked turkey.we're hoping to score bedlam tickets so we can have you autograph my ou hat which i meant to ask you to do saturday night.by the way,i meant to say the other night that i thought last mondays raw was gold.felt like the "good ole days". thanks again.

Jim, Have been a huge fan and listened to you radio show on WSB back in the day and actually got a call into you one day. I was James from Marion NC and was SOOOO PSYCHED to talk to you and Teddy Long, Larry Zybsko and another guest whose name escapes me. You got me on the air, I said Hi and that I was honored to talk to you and the guests and then you had to go to a hard break. You came back and had a minute left before you went to news and cut me off. You said you wished you had known that. JR I was a twenty year old college student and was heartbroke. My friend and myself were HUGE WCW fans at the time and still were after that but I was hoping one day to tell you this story in person for the laughs. Still a huge fan of yours and wrestling. Your indunction speech at the WWE Hall of Fame made me tear up and I apprecited the part about you being the first wrestling fan in the HOF. I now have a 10 year old son who lives and breathes wrestling, just like his dad did when he was 10. Hoping to catch you all in Charlotte soon and thanks again for all the great memories.

Oh Guru of the Grill... What is your stance on "Par-Boiling" ribs prior to putting them on the grill? Also, is your meat all us raised? I heard Chili's or one of those chains use ribs from somewhere like Norway or something... How Un-American! PEACE!

Thanks for answering me and I want to let you know that I still had a great time at the Batista signing. I was wondering. Are you a big fan of wrestler's entrance themes. I have aso many on my MP3 player and wanted to get your thoughts on them. Also do you find that the PPV themes are always very good songs?

Hey JR! This is my first comment on to your site, but im a long time reader! Its good to read your thoughts on things, as i'm a raw man through and through!! You and king keep up the good work!! I recently watched all the wreslemanias in order, and totally forgot about my personal favourite moment- the main event build up in WM15!! Quite a moment with you coming out to announce it! my question is though, what will be the future of the king of the ring tournament? I watched 1998 recently, and think a tournament with the last 8 of Santino, MVP, Kennedy, Miz, Finlay(maybe), drew mcintyre, cody rhodes and maybe even a push for super crazy(his gimmick with hacksaw is ridiculous!) Thanks, and keep up the great work!! Stewart

WHEN IS SNITSKY GOING TO START FACING TOP LEVEL COMPETITION LIKE TRIPLE H,HBK ETC.? ALL HE'S FACED IS VAL VENIS,HIGHLANDERS AND OTHER JOBBERS ON RAW. SAME WITH BIG DADDY V THE ONLY GUYS CAPABLE OF BEATING BIG DADDY V IS TRIPLE H, CENA, [WE KNOW HE IS OUT FOR NOW]AND THE UNDERTAKER. AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY BOOKED HORNSWAGGLE VS THE GREAT KHALI AT SURVIVOR SERIES. THAT MATCH HAS TO BE A JOKE A GIANT VS A MIDGET??? THEY NEVER MADE ANDRE WRESTLE MIDGETS BACK IN HIS ERA [OR THAT I RECALL].

JR, Did you happen too see the CNN special on pro wrestling yet? If so, did you think it was one sided?

Hi JR, WWE should split up these tag teams: JIM DUGAN & SUPER CRAZY DEUCE & DOMINO -WWE Fan

Hi J.R., Ilove your blogs! Anyway...I have a question for you. Do you what happened to the WWE.com fantasy game and is it planning on coming back? I really enjoyed playing it and ever since this past Wrestlemania it just disapeared. Thanks for entertaining us Monday nights on RAW J.R.! Jewels

Hey JR, First time posting to your blog though I have read it many upon many times and do enjoy the read. I have a question and a recommendation, if you will... First the question: I have read before that you would love to see Rey Mysterio on Raw, but what in your opinion (believe me I recognize it is an opinion and you have no say on what happens in the WWE) in the likelihood of this happening? Here's why I ask... Though Rey is entertaining to watch he has few rivalries he hasn't been in for Smackdown. I only see something with Him and Finlay lasting for so long and then maybe him vs MVP or Khali, but as far as rivalries there really isn't anything much left. Unless WWE does something with him turning heel, which could be interesting, or making face vs face rivalries with him and Batista, Undertaker (unique contrast of styles to say the least), Matt Hardy, etc, a switch to RAW would be rather refreshing for his character and new rivalries for fans to get into. That's my two cents... what's yours? and for the recommendation... I LOVE your BBQ. A friend of mine got some and had me use it and I was impressed. I am ashamed of the fact I haven't gotten any sooner but plan to rectify that mistake byu getting some of your products this week for myself. I realize you just opened up your restaurant and franchising is something down the road you are looking into, but you may want to consider something in South Florida. Down here, you have a choice of Sonny's BBQ which is ok on its best day, Shorty's and Smokin' Bones which aint bad either, and then some lame duck restaurants (which I been to) that are worth crap. Having JR's "q" down here would not only clean up the business, but would be so welcomed down here as a great place for some great (not just good or ok) bbq. I look forward to going to one of your restaurants (I say restaurants cause it's bound to come to fruition). One last thing... the way both teams are playing... who do you think would win a game between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Miami Dolphins? I think the answer is obvious...

Hi JR hows things? I was just wondering if you could share your thoughts on former wwe talent crime time? Is there any chance of a return in the future? stay healthy and thanks.

hey JR! do you think there's any chance of the undertaker/mark callaway hanging around the buisness as a trainer or road agent after he hangs it up or will he just live quietly in retirement? p.s. the bbq sauce is amazing

Hey J.R.: Greetings from a Sooner fan from Arkansas! Just wanna say your website is fantastic because you talk about three of my favorite subjects: wrestling, Sooner football, and barbecue. Wrestling: I've been a wrestling fan for over 45 years. I can remember way back in the early 1960s my dad would often take me to some of the matches that would be held at the national guard armory in my old hometown of Booneville, Arkansas. LeRoy McGuirk was the promotor and he would often bring such wrestlers as Danny Hodge, Cowboy Bill Watts, Jerry Brisco, Sputnik Monroe, Treach Phillips, and Waldo Von Erich among others. Remember any of these? I'll bet The King remembers Treach Phillips and Sputnik Monroe both from Lawler's hometown of Memphis. I remember some of the famous feuds such as Cowboy Bill Watts and Waldo Von Erich and when these two got together it was like Saturday night at a tavern in Muskogee: you knew there was gonna be a fight the question was, how bad? Those were the days when the wrestlers got up close and personal with the fans and you could smell the popcorn, almost feel the licks being traded, just like you were in the ring with them. And in the 1970s we had such guys as Ted DiBiase, Ken Patera and many other superstars who guaranteed you a great match. Sadly those days of Saturday night matches in national guard armories, boys clubs, and other smaller venues are gone forever. But these days are great as well with such guys like The Nature Boy Ric Flair, Triple H, HBK, and Stone Cold Steve Austin (my four favorites). Not to mention the best announce team in the history of the sport namely J.R. and The King. There will never be a better team of announcers than yourself and Jerry The King Lawler. You guys rock! Another question: does The King write his own material comedy wise or does it just come naturally to him? He is really a hoot and there's no telling what he's gonna come up with next! Now football: Coach Stoops seems like he's got the most well focused team in recent years and Sam Bradford seems like he's way ahead of his time when it comes to maturity. Here's a redshirt freshman quarterback who seems to never get rattled and his slick ball handling abilities could cause him to get Heisman stamped on his resume in a few years. I'm beginning to believe the Sooners will be playing for the national championship in January and could very well take home the trophy. But first we've just got to beat Kansas for the Big 12 championship in a couple of weeks. And with Ohio State getting upset by Illinois it's anybody's guess how things will turn out. What do you think? And barbecue: I love good barbecue and a friend of mine told me that he ate at your place recently. He went on and on about how good it was and I was salivating just thinking about it. There's a lotta folks here in western Arkansas who just love good barbecue and I hope when you begin to spread out you'll consider putting in a place in Fort Smith because I can guarantee you it'll be a hit. Well J.R. that's about all I've got to say. You guys keep up the good work and keep on making that great barbecue. Boomer Sooner, William Landrum

Jim, have you heard of the new reality show that was just announced, entitled 'Hart Nation.' The television show is set to feature Bret Hart's ex-wife Julie Hart and the Hart children. I, for one, am excited about this new venture. The Hart name is synonymous with the business and this show has potential to be great. From what I understand, Julie is working on a book as well which will surely be a great read. What are your thoughts on either of these topics?

Hey J.R. it's been a while since i posted up a question but i do have one for you now. Who would you say has the most memorable debut? I remember Kane coming down and ripping the door of the Hell in a Cell and being totally amazed. Also how can we forget the build up to Y2J's debut, i ask because i'm expecting big things from these cryptic messages that have been popping up on our screens and my heart tells me it will be another big return for "The Ayatollah of Rock 'n' Rolla."

JR, Is it true that current WWE champion Randy Orton was named after another former WWE Champion Randy Poffo (better known to most as Randy Savage)? I t is my understanding that this decision was made due to Cowboy Bob’s, strong admiration for his one time tag partner the innovative and electric Macho Man Randy Savage. Apparently Savage and Orton had worked together closely in Angelo Poffo’s ICW promotion in the early 80’s…do you know if this is at all accurate? And if so, do you know if Randy Orton keeps a close relationship with the man he was named for?

hey jr your the greatest just wondering who do you think is the greatest wrestler of all time to me its between HBK and ric flair obviously i give the nod to HBK also what is the greatest HBK match you ever saw thanks and keep up the good work

hey J.R. i'm a big LSU Fan and assuming that they win their next 3 games(old miss, Arkansas, SEC Championship) who do you see them playing in the BCS Champioship, and who will beat kansas? thanks

JR said he would like to find some of the old wcw comic books he appeared in, i have i know of at least one them that he appeared in that i can part with (probably others),please contact me directly at pegasuskid4@aol.com

Mr. Ross, I know you will be in the 'Burgh for the Armageddon PPV in December. I would love to meet you, as I, too, have had more than one bout with Bell's Palsy, if for no other reason than to shake your hand and let you know what an inspiration you are to someone like me. I bought tickets for the PPV on the floor level, section 1, row D. If you are in town early and would like to have a tour guide or perhaps lunch, I would be glad to pick up the tab! I am a huge fan of your work, and I thoroughly enjoy listening to you and the King call matches. Thank you for showing me that Bell's Palsy doesn't have to cause life to stop.

Hi J.R., I noticed your comment about the WCW comic book. I have the first edition #1 issue (Luger is on the cover)and have it in the original sleeve, it is pretty "mint." I would be happy to send it to you, no problem at all. If you or administrator would like to forward me the address to send it, I would be happy to get it on it's way. Thanks very much, Ron Bailey Racine, WI

Why are they misuising Orton so bad since he's won the WWE title? He hasn't done one RKo on tv since and only 2 promos(once on Cyber Sunday and the day after he won the belt) and he's been knocked out 5 times by HBK(4 on tv and one one PPV)and he's taken a back seat to DX on tv and I'm sure to the casual fans watching out there you sure wouldn't know he was champ would you? What gives?

Hi, I have those WCW comics and would gladly send copies your way. No trade needed. Good karma is enough. I wish you well in all your ventures! If you'd like me to send them, just email me the address and away they'll go. Kevin

watched recent tna event and i have to admit the wrestling is far superioir to wwe although the comedy and production arent as good. I think wwe holds back wrestlers like shelton and carlito who have the ability to help the product

Although it is probably not likely by any means...I have to believe that I am not alone in this idea... There have been some perfect Icon matches which are like a Trademark or ID Card for the wrestling business. Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat, Andre vs Hogan, Warrior vs Savage, Austin vs Michaels with Mike Tyson, and the many many Flair vs Sting matches... I have read all over that there is great probablility that Flair is going to retire from the Wrestling Business near the time of this Next Wrestlemania. Wouldn't it be a good idea to stage a 'Perfect Farwell' match for him? Frankly, it could not get any more grand than if Ric were to have his Farwell match against none other than Steve. If the WWE could only hire Steve for just enough time to work the Wrestlemania PPV... I know that a match like that could (WILL!) easily bring a tear to my eye, and likewise to everyone else who has followed their careers. They did such a match on their last night together on WCW, and it would be only proper to do it again... It wouldn't matter if it featured the "Surfer" Sting or the "Crow" Sting...as long as Steve could do it, I believe that Ric would surely agree that there would be no other better way to go out. If That match cannot happen, then he shouldn't have a match with anyone else, because no one else is worthy. Unless Ricky Steamboat could do it. But I think today's crowd would identify with the Stinger the best. If the proper match cannot happen, then there needs to be a huge video montage of his better and finest moments (with Sting). Nothing in the recent History of Wrestlemania could out shine a Sting vs Flair match though. The fans would love to see the Stinger work just one ppv, and more so if it were with the Nature Boy. Whooo! I once thought Flair could be his best against anyone like Luger, or Savage for his last match, but it seems only proper that he go out of the business with another man who is also on top of the business, a man who has a clean square head on his shoulders, the only man who has possibly worked along side of Ric for the longest length of quality years. It could be bigger and more meaningful than the night that Eddie and Chris both won thier Heavyweight Championships, bigger than when Batista won the belt from HHH,...I may even rival the HOF induction of the Hulkster! To be the Man, you gotta Beat the Man! Whooo!

Hey JR. What's your opinion on Scott Hall these days? What do you think about him returning to the WWE as Razor Ramon for one more run? Do you think he will make it to the WWE Hall of Fame soon?

Mr. Ross: First let me say thanks for all of your great contributions to the sport of pro wrestling. I have been a fan for many years, dating back to your time calling matches in WCW. In fact, you were kind enough to autograph a WCW trading card for me when I was much younger (I still cherish the card). I was recently watching the Flair/Steamboat Wrestle War 1989 classic match. You called a great match, along with Magnum TA. What was it like to announce with Magnum? He seemed to hold his own on the mic. Thanks for your time.

JR, I just finished reading Bret Hart's autobiography, and it is a "must read" for anyone interested in professional wrestling. A few quick questions: 1) have you read it? 2) if so, what did you think about it? 3) have any of the guys in the locker room taken offense to the book? In the book, he openly admits to illicit drug use (including, but not limited to, steroids), philandering, and other bad behavior. But, he also talks about others in the business doing the same thing. What are your thoughts? I thought it was a great book. It's sad how things have turned out for Bret. I wish there was some way he could be involved with the business again. Thanks for all of your great work -- both behind the announce table and on this site!

Dear JR, I know this seems to be a recurring issue, but I would like to inquire about the status of one Macho Man Randy Savage. I have respected your progression through the territories, WCW tenure, WWE announcing tenure, food products, as well as the era where you were involved in Talent Relations. When Savage was on fire, jacked up, and stirring up mayhem in WCW, him and WCW couldn’t come to terms and Savage was virtually a free agent. Why did WWE drop the ball so badly on this possibility? Do you understand what a Randy Savage/Rock feud would cause in the industry? Chaos and a dream match. You were the head of Talent Relations, so unfortunately I solely place the blame on you. Maybe it’s not the correct statement for me to make, but that is unfortunately how I feel. Do you have any thoughts or opinions to make the average Savage fan feel otherwise? Thank you sir, and have a great day.

Hey J.R. I've been a huge wrestling fan since 1998 when I started watching WCW, then when I bought the old WCW tapes, I saw you work and became a huge fan of your announcing and started watching WWE. You're the best in the business. My question is: Do you know why the Divas in the WWE alumni section of the website were taken off? Thanks for your time.
