RED HOT TAG

Saturday Update

Posted in:
Hope everyone's having a great Saturday. As I write this on my trusty Blackberry, I am on an Oklahoma team bus in route from KC to Lawrence and will be on the Sooner sideline later today for an important Big 12 Conference football game. Yep, my neurologist cleared my travel because the flight was only 40 minutes and I'm drive home after the game w/ friends. Here's the latest. I had a MRI Friday on my brain and inner ear and will get the result, hopefully, Monday afternoon. Hopefully, that will be good news. I'm thinking it will. My right eye is problematic but we have the meds in place to protect my cornea due to the dryness issues. My vision is blurred in the right eye but I'm optimistic it will improve. Senstive hearing on certain tones remain as are frequent migrain-like headaches but I'm dealing w/ it. No worries. The right side of my face isn't sagging as bad as my two previous bouts of Bells palsy. Still, my "leading man" status is in jeopardy. :) The doctors won't and can't provide me a timeline as to when I will return but, without fail, I will return at some point "Sooner" than later. And w/ more P&V than ever! Certainly not pleased to be missing WWE Bragging Rights Sunday on PPV but will watch it from home in Norman. That way I can "second guess" w/ the best of 'em and "knock" the announcers. Those were jokes. The show has many unknown entities and had my curiousity aroused especially the young talents that might step up and the 60 Minute Ironman match. If Miz vs Morrison kickoff the show, they have a huge op to make ev everyone else "follow this." I'll be watching lots of wrestling over the next few weeks plus some overdue viewing of some DVD's and books I want to read. Got some great text messages Friday night from Steve Austin w/ some hilarous albeit timely advice. Thanks again for all the well wishes and especially the prayers from around the world. Business in our on line store has even picked up! :) God Bless you all. Boomer Sooner! J.R.

Hi. JR..

It sounds like you are doing well..which is the best news one could hear for now...bragging rights was a great show and I hope you get better faster than a hick up..

cant wait for you next blog

JR, It's been a pleasure to read your awesome blogs and I honestly have tons of respect for your VERY educated opinions on the business!  I hope to either order some good ole bbq sauce from your site soon or have somebody get me some as a gift!  If I ever find myself down in Norman, I'm trying your restaurant for sure!  Get well, and get back where you belong!

--Bobby

JR -

You are to me as much a mainstay in the WWE as any superstar who as ever been there.  Raw isn't the same without your there, and now nor is Smackdown!

I just wanted to send my best wishes to you, and let you know that you are in my prayers.  My family and I love watching you, JR, and we sincerely miss you calling the plays.

We like Todd Grisham & Michael Cole, and all, but you and the King should do the play by play on all 4 shows!! (I mean that in my heart, but I know that it can't happen for many obvious reasons.)

Anyway.  Please get well soon, and get back to us on WWE TV.  We can't wait to see your face again, no matter how it looks.  You will always look wonderful to your fans!

Sincerely,

Jamie, Linzie, Pierce and Abby Young, Upstate SC

I deeply hope you get better and get back to calling the action on Smackdodwn. I have been watching you call wrestling matches since your days with Mid-South Wrestling. I might be from Arkansas but I will always root for the Sooners since they are always playing way better than us Hogs. GO OU !!!!

All the best JR ,missing your smilimg face buddy  thoughts with you and family for a speedy recovery

Alan-- New Zealand

Hope you get well soon. I wish you the best from Austria, Europe!!!!

It's good to hear you're doing well. Hope you're back as soon as possible. I've been a WWE fan longer than I can remember and It's never the same without you.

Best Wishes.

Get well soon, Mr. Ross! ! Glad you liked the woodart I sent you.

I started watching wrestling back in late 1989 when I was 9 years old so I am approaching 20 years of being a fan of the business. I accepted at a young age that I wasnt built physically to be an wrestler so I've always wanted be an announcer or interviewer. Some people say they want to be the next Stone Cold, Hogan, or rock. For me it was always I want to be the next Jim Ross because not only where you the lead announcer on the biggest weekly wrestling show but you were also Executive V.P. of Talent Relations which meant you did the hiring and firing. Also it has been crystal clear to anyone who has followed you that you are a damn good man. I'm sorry that Bells Palsy had affected you yet again but you've came back from it twice already so there is no doubt in my mind that you can do it again. You lead by example. I remember back in '99 when Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara took over WCW's creative and mocked you with the Oklahoma character you did an interview in Raw Magazine and refused to take the low road by taking pot shots right back at them even though they both deserved it and then some. Get well soon and I'm sure you've been told this a million times before but you, Jim Ross, are the best play by play announcer in the history of this wonderful business.

in the ten years i have been watching WWE nobody has been able to tell a story and paint a picture on commentary quite like you can.  i feel lucky to hear good ol' J.R. anytime i can.  i hope you get good news regarding your health and you can recover and be back to normal in no time. you are in my thoughts and prayers. and thank you for your work.

Dear J.R.,

Glad to hear that you are getting better. Hope to see you back soon. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God Bless.

                                     Love,

                                   Hannah

Hi J.R.

I'm very happy to hear you are on the mend, and I'm very happy to hear that Mr. McMahon is 100% behind you.

I'll take you in the booth against anyone else that's out there, and that's no knock on the other guys...just a testament to how great you are.

Go kick this things ass and I'm happy to hear that you have 18 years left in the business.  I'll still be watching you in 2027 if fate allows it.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Jim, hope to see you back on the tube soon.

All this good vibes are focus on you ... It's very important !

I pray for you in France. I check this part of Internet daily for your news.

Get well JR ! :)

Glad to hear your doing good. Let's hope the doctors bring good news on Monday. Bragging Rights Match of the Night will be Miz/Morrison. Hard to believe I'm saying Miz will be involved in the Match Of The Night, but with his improvement, Morrison, and the possible interference from Mr. Ziggles, you can understand why I'm predicting this match to be the best of the evening. Taker will also retain in my opinion. You can't count the Big Dawg of the yard, no matter what. I like what I saw from him Friday, and think the dirt sheets are off in assessing his health now. At any rate, I hope you enjoy the show tomorrow night, and if you're not too busy, check out Big Ben and the Steelers, as they take on the undefeated Vikings tomorrow at 1, noon central time. Get well, and get back quick.

Hey JR

Im glad to hear to you are getting better I was a little worried on why you missed smackdown a week ago and then micheal cole filled us in on what had happened. If I know anything about you and I have learned from you is that I know you are extremely tough and I hope to see you back at full health in weeks to come but for now my friend my thought and prayers go out to you keep fighting the good fight.

                                                        Sincerely,

                         Jaysen"The Guardsman"ZenoGomez

Glad to hear your doing well!!! Cant wait to see ya back on the show.Thoughts and Prayers from WV.

Hey JR!

I hope all is going well, I know it will. My friend and I have tickets for Bragging Rights and we're super excited for it but we wish you could be there with us because we bought our sixth row seats behind the announce table just so we could see you and sit behind you. You are our favorite JR and we can't help but pray for your speedy recovery. Watch out during Bragging Rights for our hand made sign that we made just for you, you'll know its us. Just don't hold anything against me since I'm a Longhorn fan, I have tons of respect for the Boomer Sooners just because of you and used the colors of Oklahoma for our sign.

The Best to you sir

Take care of yourself, JR.  Have fun with the game.   We will thinking of you!  Much love and blessings...

Hope you get good news on Monday. I'll keep you in my prayers and keep my fingers crossed for ya!

Good to hear you're doing better, JR!!! By all means, keep us posted on your condition.

 Wayne

J.R. I wish you a speedy recovery. You have suffered enough with this desease and I hope to see you on tv soon having prevailed again in your bout with it. We need you ! You're the best ! God bless you.

I'm glad that you were cleared to see your Sooners - the fun will be healing, I'm sure.

Take care, JR

I am glad to see that you are not letting your current condition put you down Jim, a positive attitude is always the best attitude I say.

My enjoyment of Bragging rights will defiantly be hindered by the fact that you will not be announcing.

I hope that the news you recieve on Monday will be positive and you are back announcing in no time.

We all miss you Jim xx.

From all your Canadian fans,

We wish you a very fast recovery J.R.!!! Wrestling is not the same without you!

Hey J.R.,

Great to see you in Lawrence today! I noticed your signature cowboy hat from the top of the stadium and came down to the front row to try to catch your attention.  I have been a dedicated WWE fan for my entire life and it was great to see you roaming the sidelines. Your Sooners laid a slobberknocker on my Jayhawks, but I hope you got some great BBQ in Lawrence after the game.  May I suggest Beamers on 9th and Iowa, next time you are in town?

Rock Chalk and Boomer Sooner coexisting in Lawrence,

Bob Stoops probally ask u to give pep speach to the team and it is working.  I am routing for the sooners. OU Football and WWE Universe are the best medicine  JR needs to get better.

Get Well JR

We are all BoomerSooners

Rest easy J.R. your fans are praying for you to get better and return to wwe no.1 show SMACKDOWN>Maybe you should take this time and start writing a book(hint-hint) i know you have to have at least 6 books in you, with your experience. No time like the present to start.

On ther bright side of things you can watch Bragging Rights in the comfort of your home, eat whatever you want to during it (no worries about calling a match with your mout full) and you can go pee if you need to.

Try to have fun on sunday and I hope you get good news on monday.

Hey JR, reviewing the past week of WWE, especially Raw.  It was interesting seeing Marty Jannetty again, even though it was clear he was out of shape and rusty as hell.  I was deeply disappointed in DiBiase, he did something neither his father or grandfather (or grandmother for that matter) ever did, he laid down.  Cody and Ted Jr have been nothing more than Ortons lackeys ever since they formed this "Legacy", all they've done so far is keep HHH off Randy's back, but monday Ted Jr officially went from Ortons lackey to Ortons bitch.  I think it's past time DiBiase really explored what their Legacy really is: When Ted Sr was The Million Dollar Man and Dusty was The American Dream, Randy's dad was a pink cowboy hat-wearing bodyguard to Adrian Adonis.  They need to start looking out for themselves, sure as hell Randy isn't.

I wish you well on your recovery, JR, and I hope we see you back real soon.

Good to hear things sounding positive.

Take care JR and enjoy bragging rights.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and a speedy return to TV.

My prayers are with you. I hope to see you back on commentary real soon J.R. I miss seeing you and hearing your voice on WWE. There is no other like you. You are the shinning star at WWE. Get well soon.

Thanks for keeping us posted J.R. Many of us are checking daily for your latest update. Im sure positive news is coming monday. Great to hear you are with the sooners and doing what you love. Thats the best thing to do when life's speedbumps come, keep on keepin on and do what makes you happy! God Bless

J.R.-

I sincerely hope you get well soon.  My family and I are remembering you in our prayers.  We're looking forward to seeing you back on Friday Night Smackdown and on PPV.  We'll throw an extra chop on the grill for you tonight and tomorrow!

You are in the entire WWE Universe thoughts & prayers Jim
