Saturday Update..JR's in Nebraska...More Thoughts on WWE Channel

Posted in:

What a glorious day in the state of Nebraska where tonight the Cornhuskers host the Oklahoma Sooners in Lincoln. We are staying in Omaha and driving over to Lincoln later this afternoon. I'm happy and excited to be seeing my first ever game at Nebraska which is a place known to have classy fans.

We have three, new offers now on line for you. Each comes with FREE SHIPPING and are all priced under $20. Please check them out today and we'll start shipping again on Monday.

Here'a some BBQ'ed random thoughts.....

WWE had another successful live event in Belgium Friday night garnering another sell out w/ approximately 7,000 fans on hand.

WWE's controlled growth as they continue to grow their brand internationally seems to be the way to go. Systematic, organized touring based on demnd for tickets and the power and productivity of their TV partners are two key elements for  this potential lucrative business element. As these TV outlets grow they will bring with them better delivery of PPV events which adds to finding "new monies." International business growth, as I have said for years, is exciting for the WWE brand.

As I wrote earlier in the week, the potential of a WWE Channel is another positive. There are virtually unlimited ways to create new programming notwithstanding the Legends Roundtables, watching DVD releases w/ the talents involved with the production, daily blocks of World Class, AWA, ect has credence. Producing internet "radio shows" along the line of ESPN's Mike and MIke, etc would work. Producing a specfic number of hours of daily programming and then repeating it seems doable. The potential is really limitless.

I think that you'll like our new in store offers as they will make different albeit affordable holiday gifts for family, friends, and co-workers. Please dont wait and order early if you can.

It will be interesting to see how Wrestlemania 26 gets out of the box for Phoenix. It's a great time to be a fan. There will be several days of activities for fans making the trip to the valley of the sun. I've attended a Fiesta Bowl there and the facility is incredible.

Fedor vs. Brett Rogers is Saturday nite on CBS and I suspect this one won't get out of round one with Fedor destroying Mr. Rogers. Rogers training camp has been suspect from what I hear plus Rogers has spend valuable hours doing media.

If you drop by JR's BBQ this Friday with the gang from 1560 The Game from Houston you can enjoy our great food and get some swag signed. You cn follow the afternoon by logging on to www.1560thegame.com.

Friday Night Smackdown seemed to be a solid 2 hours with more in ring content than talk. It looks as if SD will comprise a fair amount of content for Survivor Series later this month.  I sure hope that I'll be ready to go by then but that is far from probable.

Grisham and Striker are beginning to mesh as a solid broadcast duo and their efforts will continue to be a work in progress which is to be expected. I like their potential. Their progress may see yours truly assume another role TBD upon my return which works for me. I feel that I'm fortune to be able to help the team in a variety of ways. All of that is up in the air and is pure speculation until I've been medically cleared. Maybe there is a there man booth in my future especially on selected PPV's. Who knows but I for one am not concerned. Just anxious to get back in the game.

Flying on OU's team plane to Nebraska was a big thrill especially with the likes of former coach Barry Switzer, Sooner greats Joe Washington, Tom Brahaney, Greg Pruitt and others was very cool. I felt very privledged.

Several guys enjoyed our new and improved beef jerky which is bettr than it's ever been.

Take a peek at our PERSONALIZED autograph cookbook offer. I think we'll do great with that one.

My headaches are lessening in frequency but issues w/ my right eye persists and my tongue is still numb. Bells palsy just takes time and patience to heal. I'm not  long on the patience aspect of that formula.  Watching me eat hot soup is, admittedly, entertaining.

Have a great day and I hope to be back Sunday.

J.R., I've followed wrestling my entire life from TNA to AWA, to WCW to the current state of WWE.  I've done things for the WWE in Chicago tohelp in presenting a good environment.  The big shocker here is that the storylines are a bit perplexing.  While RAW and SMACKDOWN  believe they hold the creative cards, TNA is taking wrestling to a much higher level mminus the gimmicks, costumes and the lame Hulk Hogan.  JR, I hope you reeturn soon in some kind of capacity.

In closing, I've enjoyed your BBQ sauce for barbques in Chicago.  It's good stuff.  I wish you well with your medical problems.  I am personally facing major surgery om November 30th.  I've got a lot of autographed photos hanging in my house and was wondering if I could be sent one.  My address follows.  Thanks JR.  I hope you work out a goo.  Take my advice...RAW needs you and Lawler back togetherd deal and return to RAW with Lawler.

JR    I hope you read this. I live in Omaha and we went to the game. We are huge ou fans and i took my two kids to the game . It was their first game and although it didnt end how we wouldve hoped, you took time to take a picture with them before the game ,and I want you to know that you are a classy gentleman. I know you dont have to do that kind of thing but i will tell you that you made two kids extremely happy. Thanks so much for taking the time out to do that.   Mark

How the hell could we lose to Nebraska?!   Now we've got A&M, Tech, and OSU left and they've all got as good or better records.  Its looking like we'll be lucky to finish .500 this year.  When does anyone start to hold Coach Stoops and his assistants responsible for this disaster of a year?   Well if we end up at the Independence Bowl in Shreveport, at least you'll be able to relive some Mid South memories.  If its even worth going to a bowl this year.  If we even GET a bowl bid this year!

Looked for you tonight at the game, but did not see you! Hope you had a great time at Memorial Stadium. It was a great defensive battle. Was glad to see my Huskers come out on top, considering the beating they took last year in Norman.

Continue to get healty.

Hey J.R.!

Hope your recovery is going well and hope to see you back on TV soon.

Just saw a commercial for All State Insurance, they had a "Bobby Bowden Grill"...

Any plan to develop a similar "J.R. Smoker"?

I think it could be a hit!

Best wishes

PS we have a J.R.'s Bar-B-Q Fan Group on Facebook ( http://www.facebook.com/home.php?ref=home#/group.php?gid=98366230667&ref=ts ) Just hoping to spread the word about your place.

JR, sounds like you def. on the mend, and I as one of many canadians are glad to hear, and can't wait till you are back up here calling either Smackdown, or even more a RAW broadcast.   I was wondering if you saw the "shoot" meeting Dixie Carter had on Impact this week and was wondering if you had a opinion on it.

Personally I hope they do hit one out of the park. Not that I don't love WWE but when there is "real" competition, not branding, that it makes shows become better, I mean we don't need a 2009/2010 version of the old days of RAW where the main even would be "Undertaker vs. Doink"

Hi JR... We loved the jerky it was really good.... I just love the cookbook... Thank's for signing it.... God Bless U...
