Snitsky’s Teeth.. DX Reunion?.. MSG.. Waltman.. Crimson Tide.. Austin.. Scotty 2.. Piper.. Midnight vs. R ‘n R, Who is Better?..

Back slowly away from the grill… lay down your tongs… and listen very closely… it’s time to address more of your comments! Bill- What’s the deal with Snitsky’s teeth? Hell, Bill, they’re YELLOW and they made us look! Another illustration that the former offensive tackle at Missouri isn’t just another pretty face. Sean- I would suggest that with the injury situation as it is in the WWE, that the future of DX is somewhat in jeopardy. I don’t have your answer, but my instincts tell me that when they are healthy, HBK and HHH will remain allies, but will do their own thing. Again, that is merely a guess on my part. Regarding Steve Austin, he appears on Raw when he is called upon to do so. Steve enjoys being back on RAW when asked, and loves the occasional, cold beverage with “the boys.” Jake- the WWE covets every time they are in the hallowed halls of Madison Square Garden. If the WWE isn’t at MSG enough to make you happy, it is not a conspiracy but merely a lack of available dates in the Garden, plus the financial arrangements for “The World’s Most Famous Arena” are challenging at best, to be kind. I think we are back there for a Raw in August. Angelo- Will Sean Waltman ever return to the WWE? He’s a helluva hand, but I don’t know the answer. I am not even sure if Sean wants to go back on the road full time like he would have to do. Nonetheless, Waltman is a talented and bright wrestler who, in my opinion, has not burned his bridge in the WWE – but what do I know? TJ- I am as busy as a fruit merchant and did not have the time to travel to “Memphis in May” for the Bar-B-Q cook-off. I really wish I could have, and perhaps one day we will have a Bar-B-Q team and will compete there. Yes, the Alabama Crimson Tide seem to be on an emotional high after hiring Nick Saban, but the honeymoon will end if Saban doesn’t lead ‘Bama to a SEC Title within 2-3 years. The Bear still casts a long shadow in Tuscaloosa and only a National Title will keep the monied Tide fans happy. Mike- The Longhorn fan did not like “The Condemned.” Most wrestling fans seem to have enjoyed it. It has also been made abundantly clear to me that many fans saw commercials for “The Condemned” outside WWE programming. I never said they did not exist, but merely that I did not see them. Plus any commercial not featuring Steve Austin for a movie in which he is starring in, defies logic to me. I am disappointed in the movie’s results, but not in Steve’s performance and his effort in making the film as good as it could be. And for the record Mike, I am happy the OU-UT game is staying at the Cotton Bowl for now. Boomer Sooner. Paul- Was Scotty Too Hotty a nice guy? Absolutely, and he still is, even though his long run with the WWE has ended. I never had one single negative issue with Scotty while I managed Talent Relations in the WWE, and will always have great respect for Scotty Too Hotty, who still has plenty of fuel left in his tank and a genuine love for the business. Rick- I could see where Kenny Dykstra and Johnny Nitro could make a potentially outstanding duo, but I feel like the “money” is in these two as singles wrestlers. Tony- There was no Piper’s Pit at Wrestlemania 23, largely because Roddy was not feeling 100%, but he is much better now and is getting back to his old, rowdy self, which is a great thing. I have great respect for my friend Roddy Piper. Rick- Who was better; The Midnight Express or the Rock ‘n Roll Express? That’s like asking me if I like brisket better than pulled pork. I can’t answer this one, or I won’t answer this one, as both teams, and let’s not leave out the incomparable Jim Cornette, were awesome in their day and would be printing money if they were in their prime today. Any young tag team or wannabe tag team that doesn’t study these two teams closely doesn’t really want to be successful. Their classic battles are like text books on how to be the best tag-team wrestlers. Roger- The Northeast influence on the wrestling business is significant. The major markets of NYC, Philly, Boston, Washington D.C., etc. all contributed mightily to the history of the business. Every top wrestling star, with few exceptions, wrestled in the Northeast at one time or another. “New York” was THE territory to work, according to tons of “old timers” I have talked to over the years. Some of the business’ biggest stars made the Northeast their home base, including legends like Bruno Sammartino and Gorilla Monsoon, among others. I never knew one single wrestler when I started in the business in the 70’s, who did not want to get the opportunity to have at least “one run” in the Northeast. Even today, I know some truly legendary wrestlers who were huge stars all over the world, but still regret the fact that they “never got a chance to work at the Garden.” Have you bought your stash of Beef Jerky and/or sauces yet? Trust me and a bunch of folks who visit our site, you don’t know what you are missing, but don’t take my word for it, simply try them for yourself! Of course, your business is greatly appreciated. Don’t forget to check out WWE Shopzone on WWE.com for international shipping. For those outside the U.S., here is a link to take you right there link Thank you for your service, to all past and present members of our Armed Forces. God Bless you. And to those from Oklahoma, I say… BOOMER SOONER! J.R.

hey jr when the draft lottery happens can superstars on the injured list like the undertaker rey triple h shawn michaels and mr kenndy still be drafted to differnt show the reason why i ask is because the undertaker is supose to be back in january at the royal rumble i think that your a great speaker for raw

Dear J.R. I posted a comment a few weeks ago but it must have never got to you which is very understandable. I was wondering how wrestlers saw a doctor on the road, if one travels with you'll or if you'll have to go to a local hospital. Also if wrestlers are hurt, does the doctor have to write them a prescription or does the wwe carry those types of things with them? I also was wondering when the Hulkster will be making appearances if any? I'm a huge Sopranos fan myself and am very anxious to see the finale. TONY PLEASE DON'T GET WHACKED!

love the blog, jr. Outside of you, the greatest annoucer had to have been Gordon Solie. Why did he not do as well in the WWE? Was it because of the cultural differences between southern wrasslin' and sports entertainment? Alos I am in complete agreement with the demise of UWF. I realize that WCW absorbed them in 1985-86, but to totally dissolve it all together was wrong. Would the WWE consider bringing it back as another show? I would think as a syndicated show used as a farmclub for the WWE would be a great idea with say, Jim Cornette )no I am not him). I also believe that when WCW bought the rights those rights would have transferred to the WWE. Just a thought.

Hi JR I was just here to ask you why did it take so many weeks for Marcus Cor Von's finisher be called the pounce by Taz and Joey Styles? They just called it a shoulder block. I got real pissed off when the fans started chanting TNA when Cor Von hit the pounce on CM Punk.

JR I got to questions Will WWE ever bring Chris Jericho back because i have hears rumors that they are planning to bring him in because of all the recent injuries and i saw in an interview that team 3D (also known as the Dudley boys) are maybe hoping to come back to WWE. So my question is Will we ever see them again in WWE?

Hi JR, Just wanted to say that I've been watching WWE since the 80's and have always been following it since. My question is (don't know if anyone asked it yet), will the Von Erichs be honored by WWE or maybe Kerry, or even Kevin, as a Hall Of Famer. My most memorable matches were the Von Erichs vs. The Fabulous Freebirds, I got a chance to watch them, when we were stationed in Texas. Secondly, what do you think about a Hawaii - Oklahoma game. Thank you

Will wrestle mania ever come to Birmingham Alabama?

you are one of the greatest I have been a wrestling fan for more years than I care to talk about I remember the old NWA days of the young Ric Flair and the original 4 horseman do you foresee that maybe Vince McMahon would let Flair win and retire with the WWE championship that would be the end to a legendart career. Thanks for all the good work that you and the king do each week

Hey JR! I actually have a few questions, and first wanna say your sauces are great! my dad bought some and we used them over memorial day weekend! keep up the great work!! now then,do you think there is a chance that we could see the European,Hardcore, or even the ECW TV and tag Team titles ever again??? i was in my late teens in the attitude era as well as when the original ECW were around and miss that time so much, and all of those titles were staples of both companies and i think they would make great additions for some wrestlers, like I could definetely see Johnny Nitro with the European belt and cutting skits in different european cities with melina, and who can ever forget RVDs historic 23 month TV title reign in ECW,and the 24/7 rule for the hardcore title was always fun to watch,I know their is probably no chance for the europen or hardcore titles, but ECW could sure use at least one more title on it's brand, especially if the only champion is going to be Vince or Lashley who in my opinion could still use another year or so to tone his overall skills instead of just jumping right in there, but I just wanted your opinion on it all, thanks so much!

to comment on Matt R., one of the best shots ive ever seen was "Rowdy" Roddy Piper Vs Goldust at Wrestlmania XII in the 'Hollywood backlot brawl', he get 2 pretty stiff hits in early on, 1 of which is particularly harsh, but it was goldust gettin' it so i enjoyed it. to JR, one of the comments posted here recently suggested at a replacment Undertaker when he finnally hangs up them great boots of his, i think this coudl be done but woudl need someone like Bobby Lashley if he could stop looking like such a nice guy!, seriously every time i see him he looks like syuch a good guy - hes a wrestler, hes gotta start looking meaner - do you not agree JR? P.S. this shoyudl go without saying but i will anyway - JR you are a living legend!!!

hey JR how are you doing today. well i know you are a busy man and i know you now have a person to help you field the many questions you get but i have been getting discouraged because i have yet to get an answer to any question i have sent. not to worry, i know you have a lot to do so i think i have come up with a question i might get an answer to. i recently watched a busch series race where john cena was the honorary crew chief for carl edwards. my question is, with nascar being such a huge sport why does the WWE not take advantage and sponsor a car? i think that if the WWE had spent a little money and done so and put the condemmed on a car for one of the big races that maybe it would have gotten just that much more exposure. i feel lionsgate did not do the job they should have and let one go below the radar but i do feel however that WWE films could have done more by reaching out to such a huge fan base. what do you think?

Mr. Ross: I have two questions... 1) Have you read, or are you aware, of the book "National Wrestling Alliance: The Untold Story of the Monopoly that Strangled Pro Wrestling" by Tim Hornbaker? Your opinion would be most insightful. 2) I've heard many people say that wrestling needs to go "back to its roots" in order to survive in the coming future (i.e., Catch Wrestling, no-holds barred events done in the style of Karl Gotch, George Hackensmit, etc.)....what are your thoughts??

JR Where is, in your opinion, the best place in the US 9or Canada) to train to be a wrestler? I am planning on coming over over from the UK to do just that and what to make sure I do it right! Keep up the great work Liam

Hay Good buddy, What's you'er thinking on Cade and Murdoch? I love em myslf but I'de relly like to hear what ya think. Take care.

What Legends Are Gonna Be On Smackdown vs. Raw 2008?

If there was one good thing about Raw besides Mickie FINALLY being in a bikini alongside Layla and Kristal, it was the fact the World's Greatest Tag Team FINALLY is gonna get a shot at the Tag Team titles against the Hardyz and in a Ladder Match. The ONLY tag match I wanted to see in the WWE. The BEST possible tag match left in the WWE next to WGTT vs London/Kendrick will happen this Sunday and I, along with the REST of the IWC, can't wait. WGTT vs Hardyz=Match of the Night and SHOW STEALER.

Hey Jim, been a longtime fan, and i have always enjoyed your commentary from the many promotions you have worked for. I guess my question would be how come the wwe can't seem to sustain a longtime feud that keeps the crowd interested. For instance, the NWO in the wcw had a good run for awhile until it turned redundant, we all enjoyed the Undertaker and his reign of terror over the mcmahon family, but who's fault is it more that we keep seeing fueds dropped, or fizzled so much...why can't the writers come up with something more exciting than what seems to have become the norm of feud, friend, feud, (hbk and every wwe star or Cena or Triple HHH), and a sidenote, how come tag teams can't seem to stay together and there's no tag scene in the wwe like it used to be and what happened to the intercontinental title's importance..ok, enough with all the questions..be fair to Flair...out

Hi Jr! Undertaker has a reputation for being the most respected wrestler backstage, If I remember it right, so was Andre The Giant. Is ther any similarities regarding they are and were respected? Two huge men with unmatched legacys. Thanks for a real good blog Jr //Ben from Sweden

JR--I love the job you did hosting the WWE's "History of the WWE Championship" DVD set. I can only hope that a "History of the Tag Team Championship" is on the way is coming soon as well.

hey j.r...so i was reading the "Will Not Die-aries: Thoughts on rival Gregroy Helms" by matt hardy on wwe.com. and it was really emotional and kinda brought a tear to my eye(figurativly speaking). I really like when the storylines involve real human emotions, most times the storylines dont involve that aspect as much and are too dull for my liking. However there are some that do, and those are the best angles. Like the Shawn Micheals Return in 2002 was very well done. But nether the less i still love the wwe and esp mondays. thanks for takin the time j.r.

Hi jr I just wanted to ask you a question. Who has been the best wrestler from the state of georgia. Thanks

Yo, JR. I'll give ya all the credit when you say young teams should watch the Midnight and RocknRoll Express tapes. But, in my humble opinion you left off 2 teams that should be "teachers" for younger teams. Those teams were both comprised of members of The Four Horsemen. Those teams being Arn & Ole Anderson aka The Minnesota Wrecking Crew and Arn Anderson & Tully Blanchard aka The BrainBusters. Whats your take on these guys!?

Hey JR! I have written you a couple of times, but this is probably the one I would really like to see a response from. I agree with you that adding more championships would be bad. I do, however, feel that WWE needs to add more importance to the current titles. What about a scenario where you have to hold the Intercontinental /U.S. Title to be able to fight for the WWE/World Title? With the only exception being that you win the Royal Rumble or the King of the Ring. You could let some of the established vets of the WWE make those lower titles much more coveted. Even if you still had an up-n-comer win the belt the sheer fact that accomplished superstars wanted it would make them more entertaining. I know they are sort of doing that with Chris Benoit, but I think The holder of the lesser title should be the #1 contender to the Hvwt. title. Otherwise, whats the point of even them being there. I hope you had a great memorial day weekend. Bryan

Hey J.R., loved seeing you guys in STL for Judgement Day. I recently purchased, much like millions of other people, the Horsemen DVD, which is by far my favorite WWE DVD produced to date. In watching it I witnessed one of the most brutal right hands ever thrown by a human being. When Ric Flair won the dream date with Precious I believe her name was. I have to say, when Flair got punched in the jaw I thought he was dead. I have never seen such a brutal shot. The only other thing I can think of that even comes close is when Butterbean KO'd poor Bart Gunn. So here is my question, what are some of the stiffest moments you can remember from over the years? Keep up the great work J.R.! Matt R.

Hi JR, Not to confess to a crime but I was watching an old promo (could not find the actual match)on youtube, Starcade '86 Jimmy "Boogey Woogie Man" Valiant vs. Paul Jones (Hair Vs. Hair Match). With that said and WWE owning the video of all NWA/WCW Starcade would WWE consider putting out a Starcade anthology or even a Best of Starcade. Some of the Matches from the WCW days I admit were korney, however the matches from the NWA Jim Crockett Promotions days were top notch.

Hey JR, I was just wondering if you and the other announcers are eligable for the draft in two weeks? As much as I like the King, I would love to hear yourself and either JBL or Tazz calling the action on Monday nights. Also, I just wanted to say that it was an absolute pleasure watching that 8-Man tag match on Raw last night. All 8 of those guys are so talented. I've always been a big fan of the Hardys (even met Jeff on one occasion...very cool guy) but I have been hugely impressed by Cade and Murdoch for the past few weeks. They've really stepped up their game and I hope they capture the tag titles again in the near future. Sorry for rambling!

hi Jr, thank you for answering my question on scotty i really appreciate it.

Hi, CHRIS BENOIT should be WWE Champ, He's got skill, honor, experience, etc... He'd be great for WWE's public image. -WWE Fan

JR, What was the reaon for the Chambers of Horrors cage match at Halloween Havoc 91? Who came up with that idea? And is the One Man Gang a Game**** fan?

JR, I recently purchased your barbaque sauce from WWE Shop and was pleasantly surprised. My husband used it with steak tonight on the grill, and it was AMAZING. Is there anyway you can tell us the status of Lilian Garcia's knee? I am a huge fan of hers and miss hearing Ms. Garcia on Monday nights. Thank you, Marie

On full season of Raw being released on dvd. As I think this is a GREAT idea, I have to say that the price on this item may be way too high. I make this judgemnet on the price tags of such WWE items as the Wrestlemania and Royal Rumble box sets. These two items push the $200 price, as I see it a full season of Raw would be many more discs than the amount in either of the aformentioned sets I just mentioned. Considering Raw is on 52 times a year, this would have to make the box include no less than 10 (I think that is a liberal guess) dvds pushing the price to a cost most WWE fans simply can not afford. If the WWE can work something out where they can keep the price under $100, I think this would be the best item ever offered by WWE, but if it reaches teh $200+ level, all I feel this would be doing is teasing the longtime fans that want an item like this to be released.

Hi JR, I wanted to comment on your Jonny Nitro/Kenny comment---the "money" as singles wrestlers one---The tag division in WWE is dead right now and these are 2 great in ring talents that have yet to find their singles niche. The same can be said about Shelton Bejamin and Charlie Haas. My opinion, is let them excel as a tag team and then break them up when they are more established. Two things will come of this: A) 1 of the 2 will become big after a feud with one another (Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels in comparison to Jim Neidhart and Marty Janetti) B) Both will have good, bordering on very good, and sometimes great singles runs. (Edge, Christian, Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy) A dead tag division is not going to be reviatlized by teams like Cryme Tyme or the Highlanders...nor did it back in the 90's with teams like Smoking Gunns or Body Donnas. It took teams like Road Warriors, New Age Outlaws etc the first time...teams like the Dudleys, Hardys, and E&C the second time...and will take teams like Nitro and Dykstra this time...in my view at least.

JR, been a long time fan, and my favorite call of yours was when you called the match between Vader, and Ron Simmons for the WCW Championship...You were electrifying that night, and one of the main reason I love wrestling to this day...My question is what do you remember about that night, and is it a night that you remember fondly?

Hey JR, as a Canadian I can't seem to find a station that plays ECW. This makes it really hard to get interested in that show, since I never really know what's going on in it! I heard Global played it for a short bit, but doesn't seem to anymore. Are there any plans to bring ECW to Canadian stations? Since we don't get Sci-Fi in Canada, it'd be our only way to see some up and comers like CM Punk and Burke perform!

Hey J.R! You're site looks better then ever! I hope you're doing good Anyways... my question is what's up with the "pudding match" at ONS between Melina and Candice? I love both Melina and Candice and I really wanted to see an extreme rules match between them! I think they would have done great! Why'd it have to be pudding? I think Melina and Candice are capable of a lot more then just selling sex. Eek that sounds harsh, but it's what it seems like. Sorry if I sound like I'm complainig. I don't mean to, but sometimes I get frusturated with this kind of stuff. Hope you have a nice day and see ya next week on Raw! Take Care Dee

JR, I was able to catch some NCAA Softball Super Regional action, live from Norman, this weekend on ESPN featuring the queens of the diamond from your beloved OU...and well JR, to borrow a line from you, "those were some bakery sized rolls" on those Lady Sooners, "no offense ma’am"...I was wondering if you’d like to chime in with any Leykis-like takes on these commendable, and sizeable, female collegiate athletes.

What are your opnions on the upcoming Draft? I think it may offer ECW the chance to really show itself as an important part of the WWE, as if i think most fans on here are honest it has been poor so far, and has nothing in comparison to the real ECW

hey there, do you know if you are going to get a mention in bret harts new book at all, j.r?

I'm a budding play-by-play commentator for a local promotion in south Texas. Coming from someone I'd call my "inspiration", a word or two of advice from you would get an eternity of thanks from me.

J.R., I am tempted on the sauces but have a very picky taste. Is there a "Sweet BBQ?" I didn't see it on the store page. Also why I had your attention. I had the pleasure of meeting Edge after he won the title last year. He seemed to be a very genuine and well spoken guy. As it seems to be set now, Cena is the Face of WWE with his ring attitude. Do you see Edge being successful in that role or does his heel status define him as champ? I also think he and Matt Hardy could have some amazing title matches - hint hint nudge nudge. Thanks, Adam

Hey JR! I was wondering, I am a huge video game addict, can you tell me if the new Smackdown vs Raw 2008 is going to have you and King doing some awesome commentary we like so much? Thank you so much you are my favorite announcer ever! Josh

Hi JR This is Everett from wisconsin. I have been a life long fan since I was two years old I am now twenty. Anyway I was just wondering if you knew when lillian garcia would return?

Hello JR: First of all, thank you for your great voice in RAW. Hopefully I will get this question answer: With the DRAFT coming up, we know that Smackdown will be represented by TEDDY LONG, RAW by THE COACH, but what about ECW??? ECW does not have a GM-type person, so who will be representing them? Also, do you see Paul Heyman coming back to TV?? Thank you.-

HI J.R. love the site! i live in Chicago and was wondering what are some of your favorite wrestling moments that have happned in the windy city. It seems like every time a wrestler is asked what is one of the best cities to wrestle in is is chicago. Do you have that same opinion?

How do you feel about the people on the internet who talk about WWE and TNA. But they only talk about the bad in the WWE and only the positives of TNA and don't talk about the positives of WWE and the bad about TNA. That along with them stating that there opinions are truth.

Is Rob Van Dam really leaving the WWE? Is he going to take a break and come back?

I stopped at WWE Headquarters over Memorial Day weekend and it was everything I expected it to be. I just stood in front of the building and stared in amazement that I was actually standing on the grounds of WWE. My question is, is there any way someone can take a tour of the building? Being a WWE fan for the past 22 years, this would be a dream come true.

This is just an idea I had. I know that there set announcers for set matches due to what brand the wrestlers reside, but I was wondering if the idea ever arose to have all the announcers do every match and have it be a seperate audio track on the reproduced DVD. I remember when The King and you had to call every match on the PPV cards. I just think if you’re gonna pay someone to do announcing, maybe they should keep announing even if it’s no their brands wrestlers, rather then just sitting there. Just a thought. I would have posted this in the Fan response on WWE.com, but there form is broken and wouldn’t send, so I thought I would pass it to you. And is it me, or was Shat’s speech during the HoF just a little long? Take care JR.

Hey JR. About the draft, we all know (or should know) that it is all a work, that the selections aren't random at all but in fact carefully planned beforehand. My question is, why not make it totally random and "real"? It will definitely be more interesting and unpredictable and allow the creative team to really earn their paycheques. It may even create angles no one thought of before.

Hey J.R., I was at Judgment Day in St. Louis and loved the show. 8 solid matches that were given ample time and told great stories (even the ECW Title match that was really short). Anyways, did you get to sample a BBQ resturaunt in St. Louis while you were there? I was curious to see what a very knowledgeble BBQ fan thought of our city's offerings. Keep up the good work!
