Sooners Hang “Half a Hundred” on the Canes.. and Your Feedback..

It was a huge weekend in Norman with the Sooners taking on the vaunted college football program from the University of Miami before the largest crowd ever at Oklahoma’s Memorial Stadium of over 85,000 who saw the Sooners hang “half a hundred” on the Canes in winning 51-13. It was too bad that The Rock couldn’t make it to this game to see his alma mater compete on an exciting day in Soonerland. Plus, the ABC TV crew highlighted J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q on the broadcast which was greatly appreciated. We had the pleasure of serving almost 20 members of the crew on Thursday night and they loved the “Q” and the friendly service. ABC color analyst Ed Cunningham, one of TV’s bright, young stars, especially loved our ribs. J.R.’s Bar-B-Q is doing amazing biz and we are thankful for all of you that have given us the opportunity to serve you. I hope you all can try our great food and friendly service one day. It was great meeting so many Hurricane fans over the past few days in our place to go along with the many Sooner fans, many who traveled great distances to attend the game Saturday morning and then make it to our Bar-B-Q joint. Feedback time: James- I feel ECW is still a work in progress and the final form it eventually takes could be termed as “still to be determined.” I am not a major fan of a weekly hardcore or extreme rules match because they cease being special if one sees them every week and these matches increase the odds of a wrestlers getting injured. With the overall lack of quality depth available, injuries should be avoided when they can. I do think that C.M. Punk is a “find” and will continue to grow into the asset the WWE needs to cultivate more of going forward. For those that are holding out for the “old ECW” to emerge, I would suggest that isn’t going to occur any time soon but I do feel the current brand is steadily improving. I watch it every week and enjoy most shows. Jetix- You must be new to our site. When is Savage going to be inducted into the WWE HOF? And you are boycotting the WWE until Randy is inducted? To stop the pain of the long time visitors of our site, I will refrain from spending any more time on this matter other than to say, I don’t know. Mark- I am usually at our restaurant Wednesday-Saturday in and out during the day and evening. Our staff usually knows my whereabouts and I have no issue with them calling me if we have out of town guests who want a photo or something signed. We only live about 10 minutes from the Bar-B-Q place. I hope to see you soon. John- My assumption is that the WWE posted results of a recently taped ECW show to compete with the other websites who were covering the same story. I do agree that reading too much info about a taped wrestling show often times taints the viewing of the broadcast and preconditions it for many folks. David- The Sooner defense is for real and may be one of the very best in all of college football. The team speed of the entire OU team is tough to deal with, but the team speed on the defensive side of the ball is extraordinary. This team is the most focused and best conditioned team in the Bob Stoops’ era at OU. Al- I have no idea why the first War Games match was not on the Four Horsemen DVD, unless there were simply space limitations. I would expect to see many more DVDs in the future that would provide a nice platform for War Game matches from the past. John- Good people are not immune to making stupid and ill-conceived decisions, such as evidenced by the several athletes who were recently suspended for violation of the WWE Wellness Program. The key here is education and learning from one’s mistakes and not allowing a negative part of history repeat itself. In the meantime, now is certainly time to make hay while the sun shines for many athletes who will be provided an opportunity with so many of their teammates on the sideline. Jacob- I would be surprised if any Angle or RVD matches were NOT shown on WWE 24/7. Wes- the Raw vs. Smackdown 08 video game is big time to say the least and the addition of Rick Rude, among others, is huge for all gamers. If you are a wrestling fan and like to play video games, I don’t see how one cannot make this purchase. Joel- Drug abuse in our society is a horrible thing, not to mention wrestlers who use poor judgment and abuse drugs. This problem is far reaching in our society and there are many that need to assess their accountability for rampant, illegal or ill advised drug usage. I often wonder why the FDA even allows HGH to be sold so easily and frequently when it was created to help treat dwarfism but has been spun into several other arenas’s since its creation. Plus one has to wonder why the FDA can continue to condone internet drug sales of any kind. I get bombarded with junk emails soliciting me to buy prescription medications over the internet. I am smarter than I look and I am not taking any thing without the counsel of my personal physician who is not a “celebrity doctor” and takes care of my health, not any childish needs I might attempt to fabricate. Ricardo- I heard when I first came to the WWE in 1993 that there was going to be a Hulk-Hitman match or matches, but that Hogan had second thoughts. Daniel- Whoever said that Oklahoma State had the greatest college football offense on the planet needs counseling. That over statement was proven in Athens a week or so ago. UGA seems loaded with talent but also seems to be missing “something.” The Dawgs do still have Larry Munson and I listened to some of his call of the South Carolina game Saturday on XM Radio. Jeff- I think you are right about the “BBQ Shack” in Fayetteville, North Carolina. It is a ‘shack’ that is actually called the BBQ Hut. My bad. Did you try it? Robby- The recent WWE Tour of South Africa was very successful with the majority of the events, if not all of them selling out, including two events in J’Berg. The same athletes who performed in South Africa will be on Monday night Raw live from Green Bay Monday night. That is a challenging assignment considering the travel time invested. My hat is off to all of those that made the trip and that will be expected to turn it on Monday night. Jeff- I don’t do a great deal of thinking about my sentence structure when I broadcast. I can’t speak for the other announcers but I realize that grammar may not be my strong suit. I am not a pronoun guy, as a rule, and perhaps too many announcers in all sports utilize pronouns instead of nouns or proper names too frequently. Lawler has taken me to Rendezvous BBQ in Memphis and it is really good, but I think Cozy Corner might be the best in Memphis. Eldon- To the best of my knowledge, Ric Flair is still an active member of the WWE and is still on the payroll. The rumors surrounding Ric’s future are flying, but Ric has not told me he was quitting. I will believe it when I see it and as I have said on many occasions I feel that Ric still has a great deal to offer the business, as his legacy could be enhanced and should live forever. It would be very easy to build the 2008 WWE Hall of Fame class around “Naitch.” Drew- I have a copy of Vince Russo’s book and have read significant amounts of it. It was an interesting read and if one was a fan of the business during Russo’s heyday in the WWE it would most likely be a good read for them. DHJ- I watch RAW via DVR on my TV in hope of improving on what I do for a living. I do not have an extensive tape collection, believe it or not, I am sad to say. Daki- My remarks on “Beyond the Mat’ was to an athlete that simply needed to spend more time in the gym focusing on his upper body, which would have enhanced his look naturally. I never inferred that for this wrestler to “get bigger” that he needed to do drugs. That’s a little Oliver Stone-ish of a theory and is insulting to boot. I have repeatedly said that I do not feel an athlete needs to be 6’2”-250 to be a star, but that they do have to be in shape and have a natural, athletic look which this individual did not have at that time. Jason- I know where Ohio State is in relation to the Nationwide Arena. However, we were told to say we were coming from the University or the home of OSU. Fans forget that we announcers are not in business for ourselves and we often times have ample help and specific instructions about what we say on TV. It is the function of any producer to help his announcers do a better and more thorough job. Again, I know of nothing of the internet rumor that Flair has given a two week notice. Marcus Cor Von is still a member of the WWE/ECW, but is taking a leave to handle some family issues. Justin- I don’t know what the WWE wants or does not want you to “believe” as it relates to John Cena. You should believe what you want about Cena’s persona you see on TV. I know the man behind the persona and I like him. He is a hard working solider who works harder than any WWE Champion I can recall, behind the scenes with Make a Wish kids and other projects that rarely get the time of day or exposure. Cena’s in ring technique is getting better and better and we are a long way from seeing John’s best in ring days. I seriously doubt that Cena will be champion “forever.” Is Cena ever going to be HBK in the ring? Probably not, but who is?? Stephen- I am all for the WWE revealing the names of the individuals who fail a wellness test and wish they had revealed the latest results. I do think it will be a positive tool in deterring the abuse of illegal substances and over medicated athletes by physicians without character or a conscience. Being singled out publicly could be an embarrassing moment for many performers and one would think that this would make one think twice about doing something so stupid. JImbo- I am in hopes of re-signing with the WWE and talks are on going. I don’t see any immediate issues on the negotiation horizon. This is another story that has taken a life of its own and many internet sites have written about it as if they know exactly what is going on, but none of them have talked to me about it, which should illustrate that there are times when some sites simply take a rumor and run with it as fact. My goal is to continue to work for the WWE, but if that were not to work out, I still have plenty to do to keep me busy. My wrestling career has been a blessed one that I would have never envisioned over 30 years ago, but all things have to come to an end at some point. Our Bar-B-Q biz is going to continue to grow as we hope to start rolling out more store stores in 2008 and plan on building several stores over the next few years. Pip- thanks for making the drive to check out J.R.’s. The chicken wing sauce is special and I will take your recommendation and discuss our distribution of it to the public. J.R.’s Family Bar-B-Q is about much more than just the great old school, slow smoked “Q” we serve! Thanks, again. I am headed to Green Bay as I write this and look forward to spending a couple of nights in Title Town and broadcasting an eagerly anticipated Monday Night Raw there. Keep the feedback coming and please take a moment to visit our on line store. Be well everybody. BOOMER SOONER! J.R.

Hey there JR. I was wonder what you thought of Triple H's beatdown of Paul London and Brian Kendrick on RAW last Monday. It seemed completely unnecessary and may have done some serious damage to one of WWE's most promising young acts. It came off as selfish and pointless. Do you agree?

Hi JR, JR i was wondering i am just a kid and my family can not afford television, we used to have it so i could wrestling, but now we don't,but i am a huge wwe fanatic i was wondering if the wwe could perhaps or could have a the shows shown on wwe.com like raw live on mondays ecw tues. smackdown fridays like a webcast. Thanks JR Douglas

I heard a report on a local radio station a few years back that Stamford's WWE Headquarters was tagged with nWo grafitti? Is there any truth to this story that you know of?

I am a HUGE fan of John Cena. I think that he is a great wrestler and that he is able to carry the title and the company. I think that he performs to his greatest ability. I wonder why so many people comment and say they don't believe that is he what he is.I don't think that Randy Orton should get another title shot with Cena after the way that he kicked Cena's dad in the head. Orton shouldn't get rewarded for terrible acts like that. I am glad that Cena took up for himself and his father. To bad for Regal though but he kind of deserved it in my opinion. I don't think of him making the title into a spinner belt but any disgrace onto the title. Also, I love reading your blogs. It is great that you are answering fans questions and interacting with them.

JR, I just read where Bill DeMott noted in a recent blog entry that he intends to retire from professional wrestling at the end of this year. DeMott said that he has contacted both WWE and TNA; however, neither company has shown interest. Could that be true JR? How could no one be interested in basing their product around a solid talent such as General Rection/'The Laughing Man' Hugh Morrus? He would be a perfect addition to the budding ECW roster. Or maybe he could return to Smackdown and re-team with Chavo Guerrero/Lt. Loco in a reprisal of the famed ‘Misfits In Action’ faction from WCW. The possibilities for a solid worker like DeMott are seemingly endless. How could DeMott not be in DeMand???

Hey jr, you misspoke about cameron, nc being tarheel country. Cameron is Duke country. Chapel hill is tarheel country. I expect a apology to all of us duke fans that you insulted.

Hey J.R., that was a great response to my insulting of Cena. I love a good debate. And I will keep my opinion of Cena as far as the way I think he has been used wrong. I don't hate the man by any means, I just think they should stop forcing him on the fans. I'm tired of his "underdog - the champ is here" gimick. He is stronger than everone else in the company, he is not an underdog. With that out of the way, hopefully forever. I was wondering if the WWE superstars do so many good things for charities and good causes, why does the media focus on the bad side of wrestling and not ever talk about the good.

JR, my question pertains to two of the coolest tag teams of all time...Did you prefer the Randy Savage/Hulk Hogan tandem of the MegaPowers or the Hulk Hogan/Brutus Beefcake tandem of the MegaManiacs????

down here in Gatorville, fl I would love to see our two teams in the championship final........so lets go Gators and Sooners...........I am rooting for both teams and would love to have you come down to the "Swamp"

Hey Jim, Whatis WWE doin releasing all the fan favourite superstars like cryme tyme which in my eyes is the most entertaining tag team in wwe since the hart foundation and the sandman. i hope these guys end up in tna and stick it to vince for bein stupid. yeah what cryme tyme did was wrong but fired. they should of been fined and warned and maybe suspended but not fired.

J.R. You are by far the best wrestling announcer of all time. Now that I got that out of the way, when can I expect to see the Nature Boy back on T.V.? I am a huge Ric Flair fan and would love to see him make one more push for that 17th title before he retires as, in my mind anyway, the best wrestler of all-time. I know you know there is a lot of talk floating around the web, what is the real scoop? Thanks, SSgt Chuck Walker (USAF) Fort George G. Meade, Maryland

Why are people debating whether Randy Savage or Shawn Michaels is the best in ring worker ever, when Ricky Steamboat, Bret Hart, or Ric Flair are better than either of them?? HBK is awesome but I put him 4th behind those other guys. Savage is MAYBE top 10. (still a legend though)

Hey JR! I just wanted to say that I was finally able to make the drive back up to my old stomping grounds in Norman to visit your fine establishment. I have honestly say that your restaurant has some of the best ribs I've had this side of Memphis. My mom raised me on Memphis ribs from Leonard's (which you should ask Jerry about!), and there's only one other place besides your's that can even compare: a Memphis-style pit BBQ chain called Red, Hot and Blue. I visit them quite frequently here in DFW. You should try them if you should come across one, I guarantee you won't be disappointed! Anyway, I've been a fan long enough that I can remember when Hulk Hogan won the title the first time, and I have to say that I happen to miss the days of the Monday Night Wars. During the time that Eric Bischoff was in charge of creative for WCW, one has to admit that the product was quite superior to what the then WWF was producing, so it was no accident that WCW won the ratings war for 80 some weeks running. Do you ever see such a thing happening again, only this time between TNA and the WWE, especially since they are snapping up any and all major talent that gets released from the WWE? After all, that's the same basic thing that Ted Turner did 10-12 years ago. Thanks for all that you do for us fans! Oh, two more things: HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS and BOOMER SOONER!!!!

Sir, who do you think is the best on the mic as it concerns the younger Superstars? Personally, I think you could make a case for C.M. Punk in that regard. Thanks for all of your effort in the business.

hello JR, your blog is great I can't wait to see the WWE live in belgium this 13 October i have my ticket, will you coming on belgium I would ask you one question: what do you think about the media , they talk so bad about the WWE,the wellness program,Benoit. i think it's a vendetta, they try to break the company, the wwe is not the only wrestling company in the USA.the other company hasn't the testing for drugs, the wwe try to fight this huge problem but it's hard, it's a personnal choice to use or not drugs, the WWE is not responsible for the mistakes of the performers.i don't blame the performers it's a hard job i respect every wrestlers but i don't understand why the media, internet try to break every time the WWE and not the other company. It's not right, i'm a WWE fan for 20 years and i wish the WWE stay number 1 in the wrestling business. When Chris Jericho will come back, it's gonna be huge for WWE. Thanks JR you're great and you are a good man.Sorry my english is bad

JR, Has WWE ever considered doing a radio show for Sirius or XM radio? I think that this is something that could be explored without WWE or any other wrestling organization censoring the content. I vote for Jim Ross as the first host of this type of program. Gig 'Em Aggie4Life

when hbk returns i certainly hope he goes for cena, with hh's support of course. also, will we ever see the rock/hbk dream match? with the aparent real life heat between the two, surely this would be a logical choice to work? thanks for all the great work. im looking forward to a restaurant in liverpool, england. it would do killer business. we are in need of some good Q

I have a question. When are we gonna see the best wrestler on the face of the earth...the ULTIMATE WARRIOR again? He should be in the next smackdown vs raw game for sure. Do you know if he is gonna be in the Hall of Fame?

With Sandman gone, how much longer do you think the rest of the ECW originals have in the WWE?

J.R would you tell Santino Marella that he is a great heel, i don't know anybody that likes this guy so he must be doing his job well. Also lets give Maria a chance to be with her real man C.M. Punk.

Hey J.R., have you heard the same rumors I've heard regarding the 2008 Royal Rumble being held in Madison Square Garden? If so, can you confirm or deny them? Thanks!

Hey J.R., Matt from Sandusky, Ohio here again. Usually i would leave a question for you to answer, but right now i just want to tell you something. These past few years have been realy tough for me. My dad discovered he had Musclar Distrophy about 2 years ago and it has really taken a toll on him. Me and my older brother had a little disagreement with him a while back and we havent talked since. And ive been dealing wih depression for as long as i can remember and i am 20 years old. I didn't do real well in school and i am in search of my diploma as of this writing. I have also battled weight issues all my life, and i have lost 60 pounds so far from the diet that i am on. I really think my life is chaning for the better. But there are times when i do feel depressed alot, and thats why im writing to you. Whenever im feeling down, i slip in a videotape or i watch 24/7, and i dont know, but it kind of takes me to a world were everything is ok. I always get excited when Monday rolls around cause that means that i know Raw will be on and i can hear you and King announce. I love the WWE, its all i i watch. No TNA, no other promotion. I grew up watching the WWE and i will continue until the day i die. And im just so grateful for you and all the wrestlers that help put on a awesome show that puts a smile on my face, and make my problems go away, at least for 2 hours every Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. I'm writing to thank you, because even though you dont know this, you and the wrestlers, and everybody else that makes the WWE the best in the business saved me from some horrible times in my life. If you could, i would like you to tel thew wreslters that you see, that they do make a difference in somebody's life, and there are in the best profession in the world. I just wanted to finally say to you J.R., and everybody else in the WWE, THANK YOU. You have no idea how much the WWE has helped through the tough times. Thanks again. Matt Jacobs

i do agree with the randy savage diehards who want him in the hall, but i also feel i should voice my support for both miss elizabeth and ricky steamboat, both whom deserve it very much as well! love ya JR, keep making raw enticing!!

Hornswoggle? As Vince's son? What a dumb storyline that is ruining the quality of WWE TV. If WWE wants to do a storyline thats good with the McMahons, they should have Randy Savage kidnap Stephanie McMahon, and have Triple H go bezerk...with segments of HHH storming into Macho's Largo home, only to be ambushed by Savage and possibly Sid Vicious. The angle could then get Flair involved on HHH's side, with a feud being re-ignited between Flair/Savage, with the roles reversed. There are so many great McMahon-family-themed-concepts...why would one waste their time writing off Hornswoggle as Vince's son??? Miserable.

I know you were asking for JR's opinion on the matter, but since my husband and son are HUGE Randy Savage fans, I will throw in my 2 cents, haha. I have watched my husband T.J. and my son Wayne come home with many wrestling items over the years. They come home with everything from the old stuffed wrestling buddies, action figures, to the posters. The one recurring item they do constantly search for on eBay is Randy Savage videos. Not a big wrestling fan myself until recently by watching Raw, Smackdown, and classic DVDs, I have seen the Steamboat/Savage battle and can easily rate it over any match on television today. I think the reason the HOF does appear "diminished" is because lesser stars like Afa make the yearly cut, but Randy doesn't. I know one man and one little boy who would LOVE to see Savage go into the Hall, and I am sure many others too! By the way Jim, I think the best broadcasting team in history was you and Macho and Wrestlemania IX! Keep up the good work JR, and have a great day! Hope the BBQ restaurant venture is going well.

just answering to a comment above umaga vs. kamala already happeed.

JR, long time reader of the site, congrats on the great restaraunt(s), Im gonna have to come out from D.C. and visit! Anyways, I was wondering if there is an nfl team you are a fan of or have been a fan of growing up. I know you follow the bears and vikings because of all the sooners, but I was wondering if there is a team you have followed growing up? And I believe I heard you say once that Vince is a big Skins fan and we are happy to have him!

JR, What was your reaction about the story line of Vinces illegitimate son Hornswoggle? Also can you tell us any stories about the September 13 th 2001 Smackdown that you and Paul Haymen the show in honor of 9/11 and did you feel the same way you did when the WWE honored Owen Hart ?

To continue the oft one-sided conversation regarding the disrespect shown to the Tag division by WWE, the willy nilly breaking of the the flow in the tag division growth of late, to run an angle where two singles wrestlers take the tag titles, practically without breaking a sweat. What kind of a message does this send to the growing cadre of talented tag teams now developing in the WWE? Basically that they are considered a side show, almost on par with midget wrestlers, no disrespect to the newest McMahon intended.

Hey Jim, Do you think that leaving someone of the calibre of Randy Savage out of the HOF diminishes the HALL? I mean much lesser wrestlers have been inducted and he was probably the biggest star next to Hogan of the 80's and early 90's. No other HOF would leave out a famer b/c the boss doesn't like him.

Hi JR I now that isn`t about wrestling but is the first time ever I come here to yours blog and I like this. That´s cool lol. I am your fan you are second best in wwe the first is randy orton but here in portugal , yes I am portuguese you have very fans and they say you and flair are the best. sorry my bad english but I am a little boy of 12 years old

Hey JR, I have a football question for you....If LSU and USC were to meet at the National Championship game, who would be your pick and Why?I love ya JR! Keep up the good work on RAW!! Love your fan, Courtney

JR where's King Booker been the last 2 weeks? Also, since we see Vince and Coach together backstage a lot. It got me thinking, do you think they'd make a good announce team?

J.R. in your opinion, what do you feel is the real reason behind all the negativity that John Cena receives? I am of the opinion that a lot of guys just don't like him, because women like him and he is is more successful then most of them will ever be at such a young age. The can't wrestle thing doesn't hold weight with me anymore, because had been a part of many great matches and is consistently approving right before all of our eyes, but some stubborn "haters" just refuse to see it.

Hey JR, I enjoyed Raw and am continually impressed by the reaction Jeff Hardy elicits. I thought Hornswaggle was entertaining for the live crowd, but for longevity reasons I was hoping to see a “true” selection for the coveted Vince’s son spot. The main thing I want to mention, Randy Orton gave an effective promo Monday night, but in my opinion someone should get in his ear, and tell him if he was trying to get the point across that Cena was watching with his father at home, he should have been burning a hole in the camera speaking directly to Cena. The whole angle has been very personal, I think having him staring into the camera the entire time promo would have driven home the “very personal”, serious nature of this segment. Congrats on the success of your restaurant! Zoo.

J.R, Do you think that the WWE has enough depth in its rosters to move forward after the big names call it a day? And will guys from feds like OVW be ready? Thanks

do you think its the luck of the irish that hornswoggle is vince's son? well atleast he will have a bigger pot of gold at the end of his rainbow now

Hi JR Simple question, but don't you feel uncomfortable with Triple H calling himself the King of Kings? Since some people believe Jesus to be The King of Kings? Just wondering.

If you were able to go back in time and be an announcer for any past event (wrestling or non wrestling) what would it be?

Great blog as usual. Just out of curtiosity, would you like to see the WWE release another video/DVD about Eddie Guerrero? Also, is there any chance that the WWE could make the final entrance theme created for him released, either on CD, or paid download? I am a big fan of Latino Heat, I, like many fans, will always miss him, and his final new theme song, the one used from Post-Summerslam 2005 until shortly before his passing, is my favorite theme song of all time, and I would love to be able to hear it in its entirty (legally, of course). By the way, great job on Raw tonight. Give the King my best. Alexander in Alaska

Hey Jim, Just 2 quick questions. First, is there any word on whether or not Chris Benoit will be part of Smackdown vs Raw 08? If there is already a link as to the entire roster for SD vs Raw 08, please post it, as others may not have found it. Second, if he is not part of the game, why was Chris not included, as the tradgedy happened AFTER the main producion of the game, did it not? Thanks Jim

JR, My question is regarding your recent comments about WWE Champion John Cena. Where I do not doubt that he is a great person outside the ropes, I wonder if he is really the person to carry the company. Over the time of his Championship reign, I've seen him involved in many angles with many talented Superstars and really didn't feel many of those angles have worked. The matches and programs he runs now don't seem to leave much to the imagination, and almost become ..eh.. predictable at times. I've never agreed with his promo work as a babyface because I do not feel he possesses the "fire" to make a sincere point of any kind, and his comedic side is quite reminiscent of the Rock's. His character seems very undeveloped and lost in the fold and I find myself referring to him as the "poor man's Hogan". His matchwork as a heel was leaps above what it is now, because he never had to worry about pulling for crowd support, and now as a face I don't think he understands the formula to pull the crowd in and still work a match to a credible level. I will say, however, his WM23 rematch with HBK on RAW was amazing and the only time in recent history that everything I have said thus far was disproven(and until then I didn't think he knew what a rest hold was or it's purpose) My question to you is do you really think this is the man to be the proverbial "marathon" champ? And would you disagree with me that the spinner belt is a disgrace to what that championship is and has stood for for all these years? Thank you You have done everything and more to deserve your HOF spot.

Also JR, what do you think Brian Pillman could have accomplished in the WWE had he not injured himself prior to signing???, Was he in your eyes World Champion quality????

Hey Mr Ross, I was wondering if you know whether the WWE will produce a legends only video game, like the "Legends of Wrestling" series??, i know alot of fans would love to play the old characters exclusively. Also have you ever caught an NHL game in your travels??, GO FLAMES GO!!!!!!

Sigh... The WWE wastes another angle. Here is what I would have done with the Vince's son angle: Last week: Have the "lawyer" mention that Vince's son was around the ring again (when no active wrestler's were anywhere near the ring). Do this after the whole Kennedy skit and have the McMahon's look confused. This week: Have the lawyer say that he mis-spoke a few weeks ago (about it being a current active wrestler which I assume he did). That would piss off some people, I know, but a lot of re-writes had to be redone due to a few wrestlers "taking time off" as I say it. Anyways do many of the same clues at the end of the program as the lawyer did tonight. In fact I think all of them could be used except the Game one. Somehow get it down to Triple H again but have the lawyer immediately eliminate this thought. Triple H leaves. Vince gets pissed and says "Well then who the HELL is it?!" Then the lights go out, and all of a sudden the countdown screen that the fans would be very familiar comes up... All of a sudden you hear: "Break the Walls Downnnnn" and Jericho comes out to what I'd expect would have been a massive pop. Vince and Jericho go face to face and RAW ends. On RAW next week Jericho could reveal that he has been in attendance the last few weeks in the crowd so technically he was around the ring as his lawyer mentioned(it'd be a lame out but it'd work). Jericho could do so much with this. He could invite himself to McMahon family events that are taped for RAW and show him walk up to Steph and say "Hey sis (crowd pop), I just wanted to apologize for saying your box was the size of the Grand Canyon (which he did once say)." (HUGE crowd pop) I think Jericho has kissed Steph a few times on camera but they could ignore that. Obviously Jericho isn't signed but I think this angle may have helped convince him. Actually, I'm not a writer so maybe you and everyone else think it is terrible. I really think the WWE should have a mix of writers and fans who have followed the product for a long time (as I have) who know the WWE and its wrestlers well.

JR - I just want to say that I have enjoyed your blog ever since I discovered it a couple months ago. I am writing as I watch RAW, and The Great Khali use that head grip thing that he has now used to take out stars like Ric Flair, Batista, Jeff Hardy, and Rey Mysterio (which was absolutely horrifying). I must state that I do not see how this is a legal move. It just seems way too dangerous. Of course there are several moves that seem that way to me, but this just seems extreme. Khali certainly does not need a move like this to win matches, and especially after Mysterio, I am simply disgusted by him. I know that you do not control that of course, but I am wondering your thoughts on the matter. THe same can be said about Randy Orton and his head kicks. What sickens me about that is that it seems that he is rewarded for taking out so many wrestlers and John Cena's father. Giving him another title shot? How on earth did he earn that by taking those actions? I know this is story, and entertainment, and I hope that at some point, Orton will be put in his place. It is hard to respect him as a talented wrestler with his actions, which is sad to me because he is a talented wrestler. LIke Khali, he does not need to do such things to win matches.

Mr. Ross I heard WWE offered Chris Jericho a seven figure deal and Steve Austin was cleared to wrestle are either of these true?

First off thank Coach Stoops for the training and experience he gave to Adrian Peterson that paid off yesterday for my Vikings when ya see him next. Secondly, it was revealed yesterday on FOX's NFL coverage that KC Tight-end Tony Gonzalez had suffered from a bout with Bell's Palsy during the offseason. As someone else that has it what kind of adversity will he be facing in such a physically demanding sport? Lastly concerning the recent Wellness Policy suspensions... Its probably a contractual issue that had to be sorted out as it comes to revealing whom was suspended but isn't it almost a moot issue because fans can basically look at the results of matches immediately following and determine who was suspended. Be it the former ECW champ, the former IC champ or RAW GM suddenly losing titles and/or getting hurt while in the midst of a serious push it becomes not quite obvious, but highly likely to identify them.

Hi Ross Jim, I am a special person my mum says! I am a hulkamaniac. I love Hacksaw "Hoooooo" Duggan! I carry a wood plank like him! It was funny seeing Adrian Adonnis doodle in Wrestlemania 3 match....Dont you think?
