Quick one today....got to hit the ground running....let's grill...
Gonna be hot in Vegas and the atmosphere will undoubtedly be awesome. Proverbial big fight feel...been there for the Super Bowl and Lesnar vs. Carwin will be similar.
Should have great seats for the fight. Nice to have friends in high places.
Likely to see Paul Heyman in Vegas albeit likely not for a long visit. He text me LATE Thursday night and said all was well in the Lesnar camp.
Everyone affiliated with Brock knows that this fight will indeed be a test of will and to win one of the two bulls must not make any major mistakes. Whoever can avoid the others nasty right hand will likely win. Lesnar is still the betting favorite but it seems that more money has been going to Carwin's side in the last 48 hours. Check the betting line before and after Friday's weigh in to get a better feel for the situation.
I will not waiver on my Lesnar lean even though I think this fight is essentially a pick 'em w/ many insiders. I do think that it doesn't go 5 rounds as there is simply too much punching power with both men.
Brock's camp has been stellar and I'm thinking that spending a week working out with Randy 'The Natural' Couture talking strategy has done nothing but help Lesnar better prepare.
This is a huge 'come back' fight for Brock Lesnar after defying death due to diverticulitis. I know the drill as I was 30 days from cashing in from diverticulitis and a colon cancer scare a few years ago. One has a different outlook on many aspects of one's life after an ordeal like that.
Nonetheless the 'King of MMA Heavyweights' will definitively be crowned Saturday night.
We're having dinner with Steve Austin Friday night. He's as excited about this fight as am I.
I hear that Dwayne Johnson is going to be in town for the fight and it would be nice to say hello if the opportunity arises.
No new news on the health status of Ricky Steamboat as of Friday midday. He's still hospitalized and, as I understand it, is in stable condition and in good, medical hands. A prayer never hurts in this situation. I seriously doubt that any thing wrestling related had any thing to do with Rick's aneurysm. The Dragon actually wrestled without incident in a tag match down in Florida recently and is one of the veterans who takes pride in staying in shape with regular workouts.
As I said on the THQ 'WWE All Stars' video game, Steamboat executed the very best arm drag that I ever saw. I hope that line makes the final edit.
I will be Tweeting from Vegas @JRsBBQ.
If you order sauce this weekend, we'll get it shipping out to you Monday or Tuesday. Also, expect a 'surprise' for those of you who purchase cases of sauce. You can mix and match the contents and share them with friends and family and we hope to pleasantly surprise you with a little 'thank you' from us. This is in addition to the existing offer.
The Q&A section of the site has been updated. Check them out.
Have a safe and happy 4th of July.

J.R.,
I watched your short interview with fanhouse.com after Brock's fight Saturday night and you sound terrific. Your voice sounded phenomenal. So, I started thinking...
You are considered by many to be the greatest professional wrestling announcer of all-time. You are responsible for landing so many different talents that have come to shape this industry over the last quarter century. Have you ever taken 5 minutes to sit around and think about how legendary you actually are? Most of us don't affect millions of people as you have during your career.
I just wanted to say thank you for all of your work, and that we all miss you on Monday and Friday nights.
I wish Ricky Steamboat the best.
That was an awesome fight last night. I was debating up to the last second whether or not to spend the $45 for the PPV and decided to go for it. The entire card turned out to be exciting. And my heart was pounding in my chest from the first second of the Lesnar/Corwin fight.
I truly thought the ref was going to stop the fight any second. One area Brock can grow in is his ability to fight from the ground position on his back. A number of fighters can do a LOT from that position and Brock was only able to protect himself and let Corwin wear himself out. But to be able to take everything Corwin had and survive was a feat in itself - and to be able to take everything Corwin had and be standing there before the second round looking like the happiest guy in the world as Lesnar did - that was amazing - and to be able to go on and submit the guy - well, Lesnar proved himself the real deal to anybody who had their eyes open. It was great seeing Lesnar immediately go over to the wrestling crowd to celebrate - On screen were Heyman (who clearly had been with Lesnar all night), Goldberg, Austin and some guy from Oklahoma, I believe - JR, that would have to be you.
Much respect to Lesnar for the tone of his post-match interview and to Corwin, who gave him one hell of a fight!
I don't know. I'm still a fan of the sport, but at the post-fight press conference Dana said "Lesnar is coming, he's getting stitches right now. And Carwin is going to the hospital, he won't be here".
And I'm thinking "What?!"...Let's go watch some b-ball, soccer or baseball. I have mixed feelings about mixed martial arts though.
Carwin messed up Brock so bad in the first round that I still think Shane Carwin defeated Brock Lesnar by TKO in round one, LOL.
The fight looked absolutely amateurish. Personally I see a lot more technique and beauty in Fabricio Werdum submitting Fedor Emelianenko (who I feel is still the best by far and doesn't need to fight any so-called top heavyweight in the UFC).
BOOMER SOONER!
Saw a pic of you at the fight. You looked GREAT. LESNAR BABY!!!!!!!
Great UFC action tonight. Was AWESOME seeing you, Lesner, Goldberg, Heyman and Austin together after the fight.
I know Nurse Slobberknockers helped you through your health problems. :)
Seriously, thank god you made it through and are still healthy.
Why is it here you say Ricky Steamboat had a aneurysm. Yet on your Twitter you said he didn't?
I got updated info and Tweeted it.
