Thanks for stopping by our website. Lots going on in our world so let's not burn any daylight and get to the good stuff.

Steve Austin confirmed with me today that he would be in Las Vegas on April 21 to introduce me at the Cauliflower Alley Club's 45th Annual Banquet where I will receive the Art Abrams Lifetime Achievement Award. 

For Steve to make time for the CAC and for me is extraordinarily special considering that he is working overtime promoting 'Damage' on DVD and preparing to promote his June DVD release entitled 'Stranger.' Steve couldn't be busier but he's excited about CAC and being there on a special night for me.  

One of the great benefits of being a part of the wrestling business are the relationships one has the opportunity to make and my friendship with Steve and his family is special.

An emailer suggested that I should try out for 'Dancing with the Stars' if this wrestling thing doesn't work out for me. Or, contact 'The Donald' and see if he needs a new, old face next season on Celebrity Apprentice. Hanging with Donald Trump would be cool as hell any time but I think I'm gonna have to pass on the 'Dancing' biz.  Can we say, "Cow on ice," kids? 

Got an email from a fan who seemed very angry at me for not being more "pissed off," his words not mine, about my professional status. Sorry to disappoint him or anyone else who feels the same but I'm blessed to have great health and that's mighty important considering the alternative.   

Challenging times are not new to me nor are they intimidating or infuriating.  Life is actually pretty darned good right now and, from where I'm sitting, is only going to get better.

Someone emailed us and made a somewhat stiff comparison of Jack Swagger to Kurt Angle based on their wrestling attire saying that Swagger copied Angle's ring wear, etc and how that was LOL funny. The two gifted athletes certainly are similar in many ways but Angle wasn't the first amateur turned pro who wrestled in a singlet. I recall Dr. Death wrestling in a singlet in the early 80's for example. Nonetheless the better point to make is that I hope that Jack Swagger can become as accomplished in the ring as Kurt Angle. Kurt Angle is an amazing in ring warrior and Swagger has a similar, athletic skill set that is still evolving.   

BTW...another point on titles equating to greatness. Don't get sucked in to the business that the number of titles won automatically makes a wrestler great. Yes, Ric Flair is a 16 time (at least) champion and he's a legend. However, Shawn Michaels won far fewer world titles than did 'Naitch' but HBK is also on the Flair, legend level. Jack Brisco never won a zillion NWA Titles but I'll match Jack Brisco bell to bell with any pro wrestler in history. Bottom line is that some of our emailers feel that a wrestler winning a specific number of titles automatically equates to greatness and I am not of that opinion. 

If it was just on raw numbers alone, perhaps Jerry Lawler is the greatest wrestler to ever live if we simply want to go on the math. Do you know how many titles my pal the King has won in his career? Google it. It's freakish. 

Another emailer wanted me to know that he 'finally' got to see the 'Dr. Heiney' skit that aired on Raw a few years ago. That email made my day, I jest, and reminded me to double check on the date of my next colonoscopy. If I do write a book someday, I'll go back and watch the Dr. Heiney business so I can accurately describe it. I have never seen it since the night it aired and even then I was on heavy medication after being released from the hospital earlier in the day.

Speaking of medicine, Tommy Chong is encouraging me to get a medical marijuana presectiption due to my three bouts of Bells palsy. I'm taking that one under advisement.

I did get a nice email from Cheech and Chong thanking me for the BBQ Sauces and Chipotle Ketchup that we sent them after they freaked out over our products when they were in OKC on March 1 for Raw.  

Someone wanted to know if I thought Gentleman Chris Adams would ever go in the WWE HOF. Beats me but if I had a vote he wouldn't get it. Chris had talent and was a star for a time in World Class without question. Some could also argue that the best thing that Adams ever did was to teach Steve Austin the ropes back in the day. However, a guy who had a history of battering women won't get my vote...if I had one. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. 

We were asked again this week why WCW did not make it. I wasn't there in Atlanta when WCW's ship sunk so I can only speculate and I can't add anything new that hasn't been written or said  other than it wasn't one guy's fault as to why the company failed.

However, I can say that when I was there that there were too many cooks in the kitchen and I was one of them. There wasn't enough accountability and everyone seemed to have a shot at adding ingredients to the soup. There were plenty of talented people on the various creative committees but someone taking total ownership/responsibility was a rarity.  

Plus, when active performers are in positions of authority or creative control it eventually becomes a no win scenario and generally serves to create dissension, distrust and more paranoia than usual inside the locker room. The player/coach scenario doesn't work in pro wrestling. I used to scratch my head watching Bill Russell, who I think is arguably the greatest player ever in the NBA, play for and coach the Boston Celtics back in the day and wonder how in the hell he was executing two, highly important functions for his team.

Hey J.R.---I did google the King's title count, and it was over 140!! But what really struck me was this- Overall he has held more championships than any other current WWE employee. Lawler, however, has never won any WWE singles or tag team championship since joining the company. Why do you think Lawler was never allowed any runs with a belt? Interesting Note I was watching Sportscenter this morning and they showed Texas Stadium implode and the sportscaster  talked about the Dallas Cowboys playing there,but at the end  he said and where the late Kerry Von Erich defeated Ric Flair for the World Heavyweight Title in 1984 thought that was cool they put in there with that history a wrestling moment.

I'm really missing you on SmackDown! I was just wondering about your thoughts on Goldust (Dustin Runnels/Rhodes).

How do you think he should be used, now that he is on smackdown? He is my personal favorite, and had a TREMEDOUS PPV-Quality match with Jericho about a month ago on Superstars.

Do you think he has one last IC title run? I think he enjoys to put over fresh talent, and a fued with Drew would be great!

Love reading your blogs. Your blogs are entertaing to read. Jack Swagger is going places. Hope he keeps the title for 4 mounths defending the tite  pretty good. He reminds of Kurt Angle and Jack Brisco comibined. I am not a fan of the tripple threart . I would like to see Edge and Jerchio are solid workers in the ring.  Swagger vs Jerchio vs Edge at Extrme Rules will be a good match to see.Forgert Chris Adams in the hall. WWE needs to put the rocket Owen Hart in the Hall of Fame.  Owens widow always turning down the hall. Owen needs to be in the hall with his Bro(Brett)and father (Stu). Brett wants to induct Owen in the hall of Fame. Still missing the rocket Jr. Glad that u are in good health taking one day at a time.  Hope u return soon to the Booth where u make ur magic as annocer in the WWE. In line with jimmy429's comments, the first thing I thought of with your pointing out Chris Adams' history of domestic abuse was Steve Austin's own domestic abuse issues as well.

In any case, thanks for taking the time to reply. And though you didn't say you were one of those who would argue that the greatest thing Chris did was train Steve Austin, I just thought I should point out he had many great accomplishments in wrestling, his best time being in World Class.

Regarding your comments about Chris Adams,I find that statement ironically humorous and hypocritical.Based on your disqualifier of Adams(which I do for the record wholeheartedely agree with) You would also have to disqualify his prized student and your boy SCSA from the hall of fame for committing the same offense!Will you be asking Austin to voluntarily surrender his HOF ring at the CAC?I curiously await your response on this issue.Best wishes and BTW the BBQ sauce and the Chipolte Ketchup are the absolute best ..!
