Start ShoppingIt's a cold, rainy day here in Norman. Great day for a nice, bowl of turkey chili which is always made better by adding some JR's BBQ Sauce, Original or Hot, and/or our Chipotle Ketchup.
Bad night last night for OU fans as the Lady Longhorns rolled into town and snapped the Lady Sooners 20 game, home winning streak. Texas beating Oklahoma at anything is tough to handle for many of us Okies. The officiating in many womens, college hoops games is so inconsistent and last nite was no exception but the better team won. I have to admit that I'm a little rough on the refs from my front row, court-side seats.
We updated the Q&A section of the site earlier today.
I've been having fun on Twitter. Twitter about a variety of subjects. Follow us at http://twitter.com/JRsBBQ.
Good luck to former WWE Womens Champion Trish Stratus with the film role she's earned with a Canadian film maker as they prepare to shoot an action adventure flick. Like wrestling, making movies is a tough business and is largely dependent on creative and talent execution.
I still recall the great, womens hardcore bout on Raw years ago between Trish and the artist then known as Victoria aka Tara.
Speaking of hardcore, extreme, etc I will always have great respect for the Original ECW because of the passion and work ethic of all involved. Paul Heyman had great vision for what he wanted to create and his talents bought into that vision. I bring this up because the letters "ECW" will leave weekly TV in 3 weeks and will be replaced with a new, WWE produced program. Anxious to see what they come up with for Sy Fy.
BTW...the Original ECW always reminded me of some of Mid South Wrestling and Watts' UWF. Passion, physicality, episodically produced TV, complex but definable persona's, great announcing...o.k. that was an attempt at humor but Joey Styles was awesome and perfect for Heyman's rendition of ECW.
I always wanted to work w/ Joey and perhaps we will someday on something.
Must be lots of new rumors on the 'net about my future. If any of you get some concrete info on what I will be doing for a living in the coming months, years, etc, please let me know because my status, goals for the future, etc are the same as I have repeatedly stated for months.
I have actually been discussing some projects totally unrelated to the wrestling biz which are intriguing.
I am excited about the future primarily because I'm feeling so much better physically and am presently in a great place mentally. Anything or anyone ho tries to adversely affect that status won't be on my holiday card list.
Life is too short, as I have been prominently reminded lately, to not do what one loves and to love what one does.
Anxious to see the new DVD coming out in April entitled "Hart and Soul:The Hart Family Anthology" as many member of the Hart family are outspoken and learned about the biz and obviously of the life and times of the iconic family. I think Dr. Phil would have blast with this complex and entertaining family. I can't wit to get my advance copy of this DVD.
We've deleted lots of emails regarding Linda McMahon's political aspirations. I'm no longer a registered voter in Connecticut and have no horse in this political race. However, I will say that Linda is honest, honorable, a classy lady, that she doesn't need the money or a job, and that she isn't a professional politician which my be anyone's best trait for running for any political office these days in my eyes.
I'm reading "Brisco" again and finally put down the book penned by the late Jack Brisco and Bill Murdock at 2 a.m.this morning. I don't think that I am eloquent enough to explain how big a hero Jack Brisco was to me in my teenage years in Oklahoma.
For the record, Jack's wrestling hero was Danny Hodge and then Lou Thesz. Of course any one who follows these blogs knows that Dan Hodge is on another planet from any other wrestler that I've ever seen or known. Jack Brisco would agree.
If I had one vote for the WWE Hall of Fame, and I don't, it would go to Danny Hodge.
For the record, I'm a wrestling fan and I choose to never be called a "cast member" instead. I don't adhere to the philosophy that the "studio audience" is the same as the "studio audience" on, say, The Price is Right. Ugh.
Steve Austin's film "Damage" comes out in March and I expect Steve to be aggressively making the rounds to promote the movie. We talked Sunday and he seems ready to get out there and promote "Damage" and mentioned that he was also excited to be hosting Raw in San Diego on March 15.
We are going to be adding some new packages to our site this month. Our on line traffic and on line business has been steadily growing. We thank all of you who support us.
Be well...Boomer Sooner!

On the subject of ECW...
I am glad that they are scrapping it. To me it wasn't worth bringing back EXTREME Championship Wrestling and removing everything extreme about it. In my opinion it would have better to call it WCW or really anything else but ECW. I'm not in any way saying that ECW was a better product, but it was a different product. Clearly there was no intention of attracting the original ECW fan, so why use the name? To make ECW family friendly defeated it's purpose. Nothing wrong with family friendly, just nothing Extreme about it either. It reminds me of when Andrew Dice Clay try to do a network sit-com. It was cancelled in like a week. His true fans hated what he was doing, and without his cult following he had nothing. Some things have no middle ground, you either love it or you hate it. One EXTREME or the other.
Having said that...
I am a huge JR fan. I have learned so much from you. I can't wait to see another installment of Legends. Due to VERY recent events on WWE and TNA, I am becoming a full-time fan again. I have been more of a casual fan the last couple years. Found most of it to be boring for a while. But that's why I love Classics On Demand so much. The history NEVER bores me.I like to think that I am a fairly well informed fan when it comes to history, but I learn something new every time I watch Legends. I hope to see you on t.v. again soon, but most of all, t.v. or no t.v. I hope you have a speedy recovery.
I saw your Tweet about BBQ Pitmasters... Don't you think Myron Mixon could be the Stone Cold of competition 'Q?
G'day J.R,
You asked if anyone knew what you were doing in the future to let you know. So let me tell you what the furture has in store for you----
1) Just after WM, you will win one of those HUGE powerball lottories that you Americans have .
2) Then a 6 month world holiday, with your loved ones.
3) After the holiday you will buy your beloved Sooner's ( if thats not possible maybe you'll build them a stadium)
4) Those other developments will work out nicely
5) You'll donate 1 million dollars to Autism ( Only say that as 3 out 4 in this house are Autistic and since you won a huge powerball you can afford it)
6)The only thing that will stay the same thru out 2010 is you being the best bloke on the Microphone.
Not a bad year for you, if I do say so myself.
Dingo
The bloke who got the bullet from fosters for being on youtube
Here is a cool clip of Danny Hodge crushing an apple with his bare hands

Hey JR! I hope that all is well! Here's a scenario for you to contemplate. How about HBK finds a way to get into an Elimination Chamber qualifying match on SmackDown. Which he wins. Then, lets say he wins the SmackDown Elimination Chamber match to become Champion. The Undertaker demands his rematch take place at Wrestlemania. 'Taker wins the rematch to reclaim his Title and keep the streak alive. Thanks for all your interactions with us JR. Take care and have a great one. Boomer Sooner! Michael
Hey JR,
Your blog's are always a good read. I likereading your thoughts on the current ongoings and the bits you put in about the old days too. I remember when I used to call the superstar line back in the day for JR's weekly news type thing was always a good listen.
My question or questions to you are:
1. Bischoff keeps saying he wants you in TNA, would you consider it?
2. Whats your fave place when you have been to the UK? (I live in Cornwall here in the UK and if you have ever been to Cornwall you will know why I love it)
and one more!!
3. Can we get your BBQ sauce here in the UK?
Thanks
Dave
