Here's hoping that everyone had a nice weekend. I attended the Oklahoma-Baylor game Saturday afternoon in Norman and then closed down J.R.'s Family BBQ at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday night after we had one of the biggest nights of the year selling "Q." Business has been consistently growing at our little place that seats about 100 folks located on the east side of I35 at exit 109 in Norman. I was at our place until closing both Friday and Saturday nights and plan on being their Monday afternoon at some point as well. Later this week, it's a car trip with the Mrs. down to Dallas to take in the Red River Rivalry featuring the Oklahoma vs. Texas college football game, some shopping for my lovely wife and good food with many of our pals. more »
Thanks for stopping by and spending a few moments. After being on the road for 10 days, it's great to be home even though the Mrs. is in Pittsburgh to attend her Class Reunion and to see family. So that means I'm on "Cat Patrol" between my other chores which include J.R.'s Family BBQ stops and my Friday morning appearance on KOKH Fox 25's Morning News show with college football predictions. Then it's the OU-Baylor Big 12 opener in Norman Saturday afternoon on ABC.

Again, thanks for the business here online and at JR's Fmily BBQ in Norman. I'll be around the store a lot this week as the Sooners get ready to play the Baylor Bears Saturday in Norman. We sell autographed bottles of sauce and ketchup in the store for only $3,99. Here's a few succinct, random thoughts of the BBQ variety. more »

It's Friday morning and after three nites in my old stomping grounds in Stamford, Ct. I'm ready to fly south to Miami for Saturday night's Oklahoma-Miami nationally televised college football showdown. I've scheduled my flight so I can be in my hotel to watch the Decade of Smackdown Celebration.

I'm in Stamford, Ct getting ready for Wednesday night's Roundtable taping. Doing prep on those two shows but having trouble not thinking about Saturday night's big Oklahoma vs. Miami Street Fight in prime time on ABC. Our store is getting busier but if you're in the ordering mood I suggest you get after it. Lots of things to over so let 's get this BBQ started. more »

The weekend is upon us and I plan on spending ample time at JR's BBQ joint in Norman and watching plenty of football on TV. OU is off this weekend but all the Sooner faithful will be watching the Miami at Virginia Tech game Saturday afternoon as Oklahoma plays "The U" next Saturday in Miami. That's the day before the "Heck in a Cell" PPV in Newark which looks as if it has or is about to sell out. Nonetheless, a man has to have his priorities so I will fly to Miami and catch the game and then go to work on Sunday. Here's some random thoughts that can easily be turned into covert comments or plain 'Ol dirt if you choose. more »
It was nice to not have to get on an airplane this week to go to work. Going through airports about 50 weeks a year isn't a great gig so being able to hop in my truck and drive 100 or so miles to work is almost like a day off. Almost.
Our new, sales packages are beginning to sell and I hope that you take advantage of the savings and the FREE SHIPPING that we are offering. Our on line store is open 24/7 and we do our best to ship out your orders within hours of receiving them.

We had a good weekend here in Norman as OU got a break in the rainy weather and found a 45-0 win over a talented, Tulsa University team Saturday afternoon. Plus, J.R.'s Family BBQ was hopping this weekend. Thanks to all of you that came in and paid us a visit. Let's kickoff our random thoughts for Monday September 21, 2009. more »
