The late Eddie Gilbert learned from everyone he came in contact with and was a sponge for wrestling knowledge. Eddie and Dick Murdoch hooked up in the old UWF and Murdoch fed off of Gilbert’s youthful enthusiasm. Gilbert had a great mind for the business but personal issues sidetracked what could have been a long and productive career in the ring and behind the scenes. These two were absolute, excellent performers and were two of the most natural antagonists I was ever around. It would be really interesting if both were alive today to see what role each would be playing in the land of sports entertainment.
One of my all time favorite tag teams in the WWE was when Murdoch's son tagged with Garrison "Lance" Cade. I am having a hard time remembering what they called themselves, but man they were entertaining. Cade was a great athlete, trained by Shawn Michaels if I remember correctly, and Murdoch was great with his big sideburns and crazy facial expressions. I think they complimented each other well, and I hated to see that team break up.
