Start ShoppingBill Watts signed Doc to a pro wrestling deal when Doc was a Senior at Oklahoma University and during the summer before Doc’s Senior year at OU he wrestled in the Mid South Territory. Doc played offensive guard at OU at 300 plus pounds and has, deservedly so, the reputation for being one of the toughest men to ever attend OU. Coach Barry Switzer told me that Doc was tougher than any football players Switzer ever coached including in the NFL where Barry won a Super Bowl coaching with the Dallas Cowboys. Doc was also a 4-time wrestling All American at Oklahoma and if he had focused on wrestling full time there is no doubt in the minds of many experts that Doc would have been on the United States Olympic Wrestling team. Doc is a throat cancer survivor and has been cancer free for two years now and is a devout Christian who helps part time in the WWE Developmental program and also has a book coming out soon.

I remember the glory days of Dr.Death, and boy was he a stiff son-of-a-gun when he competed against those jobbers on WCW !
You may not remember this J.R. , but I remember him tagging with (I wanna say Michael Hayes) in this match, and he drop kicked a guy and the guys head hit the ringpost and it knocked him out cold.
It was definately legit because you could literally see the blood drain from this poor guys face as it turned a pale shade of white.
I've always heard that he was well known to be stiff in the ring.
When the smoke clears, I'm still a fan
