J.R.'s Latest Q&A

Darren_Buckley Asks:

JR, I was pondering aloud on a wrestling forum about Lance Hoyt/Vance Archer and I think he is a lock for 'new blood' in the main event scene and possibly a run with the world title. I mean the guy has undeniable mic skills, charisma and most impressively ,in my opinion, a huge move repertoire for a big man. What do you think of his chances?

J.R.'s Answer:

Viable upside. Time will tell how much he improves his game and how hard he works to make himself unique and marketable. I like Vance Archer.

Hey JR. I have 2 questions for you. Now that we've kicked off a new decade, who do you think was the greatest superstar that you've seen compete in the previous decade? Also, what was your favorite moment from the last decade? I cant wait to see you back on tv. I miss hearing your voice. -Richie

J.R.'s Answer:

I wouldn't hold my breath about my return to TV if I were you as I don't foresee it being any time soon. I'm good with that for the record. I would have to review the decade to intelligently answer your very broad question.

davidgiggs1 Asks:

hey jr, just wondering, did you ever see the undertaker start out in "the blue skyscrapers"? and if so did you HONESTLY think hed be where he is today? thanks jr, dave from the uk

J.R.'s Answer:

I thought Undertaker was going to be a huge star when I first saw him in Dallas which is why I helped facilitate bringing him to WCW in Atlanta. Big men with his athleticism and aptitude don't come along often.

JR... This maybe a stupid idea...but if people could buy your WONDERFUL products on Amazon.com.......then people from other countries could sample what we all LOVE!!!.. But I realize that shipping logistics and prices will be an issue in it's own. Sorry, JR..Iam just trying to help you, that's all!! Us lifelong wrestling fans got to stick together, right??:) Allan.......Waseca, MN

J.R.'s Answer:

Thanks for the suggestion but I don't have a clue as to how to go about getting our products on Amazon.

Hi Jim, Was just watching on youtube the classic confrontation from 2002 between Hogan and The Rock where they set the WM X8 match. How did it feel as a 'fan' sitting at ringside witnessing that hostoric moment. Even to this day I still think of it as a huge moment in history. James R England

J.R.'s Answer:

Very special moment...it was like watching wrestling history being made right in front of us. Rock and Hulk were on their games and had the responsive crowd in the palm of their hands. Great stuff.

SJFHoosier Asks:

Hey JR...wanted to get your thoughts on Goldberg vs. Lesnar from WM20. I was in attendance, and I've never experienced a crowd atmosphere like that one for a match. Cheering, then booing the departing Goldberg, the icy reception for the departing Lesnar, Hogan and Hart chants, etc. And after watching it back recently, you and The King sound like you were working extra hard on that call. What back story can tell us?

J.R.'s Answer:

The crowd was a distraction in many ways as it seemed that the entire place knew that both Lesnar and Goldberg were leaving WWE and that Austin was going to stun one or both. For a match that should have or could have been really special it unfortunately wasn't. I felt bad for all involved as it was an inauspicious way for two great athletes to leave the company.

Jay.Dub Asks:

Hey JR, JayDub here. First of all I have to say it's an honor to just be in contact with you. It seems as if you are ready to come back to the announcers table but WWE isn't so willing to do that. Could they just be looking out for your best interests because you've said many times before that the travel schedule might be too hectic at this point in your life. If that's the case, would you be willing to take up a position in FCW? I think those guys would greatly benefit from your wealth of knowledge.

J.R.'s Answer:

I'm willing to help WWE in any way that I can and helping out in FCW isn't out of the question.

Leo_360 Asks:

J.R. how do you feel about gimmick style pay per views like Breaking Point, TLC, and Hell In A Cell, replacing long time pay per views like Armageddon, Backlash, and judgment day?

J.R.'s Answer:

I don't get too wrapped up in names but am more focused on the attractions that are on the PPV's. I think that seeing more than one of the same, specialty match on a given PPV is rolling the dice.

RDLee Asks:

Dear JR, You've displayed a great sense of humor in answering all of my prior questions and I really appreciate that. I do have a rather non comical question to ask you this time. I have been involved in a debate for YEARS about this too might I add. If Owen Hart not tragically passed away in 1999 and was still wrestling today do you think that he would have become either WWE or World Heavyweight Champion by now? I am on the side of the argument that says he would have been a champion multiple times by now but most people think I am crazy and that he reached his peak in the 90's. Thanks again.

J.R.'s Answer:

I don't know about multiple times but that isn't overly unthinkable. Owen being a champion would have been a lock in my view. God Bless him.

AdamTide Asks:

Would you ever want to commentate a March Madness game? Thanks.

J.R.'s Answer:

That would be a lot of fun. Big crowds, lots of noise and enthusiasm, good games, great athletes...what's not to like about that?
