Hey JR, long time no see. I live in New Orleans, and I'm a huge Saints fan. What did you think about the Saints current performance last Sunday? (27-48) over the Giants. The Saints have a hard long road ahead of them, but I can definitely see them going 11-5 or 12-4.
The Saints are on a roll but it is a long NFL season. Just hope that your key players can stay healthy. Speaking from experience I can tel you that makes a huge difference.
Hi, JR- Just joined your site. Thanks for all of your hard work and updates. I think you should be a bit more positive about your Sooners. I'm calling for an upset this weekend, OU 31 TX 23. So... as a Notre Dame fan and grad, can I be the first to invite you out to South Bend for the OU game in 2013? It's a game I won't miss. -Bob P.S. I'm looking forward to OU's visit to South Bend and thanks for the invite. I will be there if at all possible. Texas is healthy and talented. OU is wounded and talented. Any thing can happen but my team will have to play virtually flawless to upset their biggest rival. If I did not think that there was hope then I wouldn't be going and we're going!
Hey J.R. Tough loss to the Hurricanes huh? What are the Sooners gonna do right now? Bradford is still injured. Will he return soon? Also another quarter back I am worried about is Chad Pennington. He has been my favorite QB ever since I saw the NY Jets (my favorite team). Is it true Pennington may never return, like HBK almost never returned but finally did in the early 2000's?
Sooners just have to compete and not feel sorry for themselves. Sam may play some Saturday. I hear Pennington's shoulder is in bad shape and set for its third surgery.
What is going on with the Houston Cougars? They beat OSU, then Tech. If they beat Mississippi State, you see them playing USC? Texas? Oklahoma? or any other big teams in a big time bowl?
Houston's loss shocked me and made me ill. Coach Kevin Sumlin is a great, personal friend. The Cougs need to run the table to get to their national Promised Land. I hope that they make it.
Good day Mr. Ross, I have a question for you, since you are lucky enough to have visited many many arena's and Stadiums in your years of covering both wrestling and cheering on your Sooners. I was wondering, other than the Big stadium in Norman, what other colege stadiums give you that "chill" when you are there? Texas A&M is an extraordinary place to watch college football. The old Cotton Bowl is historic and I am going to Nebraska this year which I look forward to very much. The Rose Bowl was cool too.
What is your take on the feud between Urban Meyer and Lane Kiffin? I wish Lane would just shut the hell up. What are your thoughts on this?
Why Meyer responds is beyond me. Kiffin is starving for attention and to place his Vols back in the public consciousness of college football. The best thing for Tennessee football is to simply win even though winning in the SEC isn't easy. The game isn't about the coaches.
J.R, My Raiders won a hard-fought game last week and lost a hard-fought game to San Diego in week 1 my question is do you think they have the talent to make a playoff run this year?. Dan
The Raiders do seem to have upgraded several positions but the one that worries me the most is getting consistent QB play our of Russell. I'm not sure how committed he is.
Hello J.R. Big fan of yours here. You going over to smackdown has forced me to tune in every friday now. Not that I wouldn't watch sometimes, but I was without a doubt a raw guy. Anyway... I was interested in your opinion. It seemed last year that braford, mccoy, and timmy all declined the nfl for fear of drawing the short straw and coming to my lions. Seeing as I felt and still feel that bradford is the most nfl ready QB in college, Do you think his choice to stay or his injury hurt his draft standing? PS. keep in mind that my cowardly lions are likely to get the number 1 pick again and already have a high priced QB.
According to NFL experts, Sam is still sitting as the #1 overall pick in the draft despite is injured shoulder which should be good to go in a few more weeks.
Hello again JR, hope you are well! Was reading thru the q&a section, saw a question bout OU n Ohio state. On the broadcast of the OSU/USC game they showed a graphic of non conference games OSU had agreed to already to for years to come. Next year they will play host to my team, the "U"! Payback time for the 2002 title game, but anyway just thought you might wanna know that Ohio state will be playing the Sooners in 2012 if remember correctly. Have you every been to the horseshoe in Columbus?
I knew that they were negotiating but I did not know that it was finalized. Never been to the Horseshoe. Been to Columbus many times, however.
Hey JR! This is Dwayne from Columbus, Ohio. I know that you are a big time OU fan and all, but I just wanted to let you know that I am a big time Ohio State fan. We both know what both teams have been through in the past with both programs not being able to win the big games. Given that as it maybe, my question for you is would you like to see OSU and OU do battle in the future to see who the better team is? If so, give me a true prediction of the outcome of the game and give me a point spread? My prediction is if OU comes to the Shoe, OSU in a close one 24-20!
I have no issue with any fans who support their teams including a great program like Ohio State. I don't know if OU and Ohio State will play in the future but I do remember the outcome of the game the last time the Sooners visited Columbus.
