Solid film and I was familiar with the entire story. I liked the movie and the story. Sad ending. I liked "Remember the Titians" best between the two football movies based on a true story. Rock's "Gridiron Gang" is one of my wife's favs but so is Dwayne.
J.R, Haven't written in a spell thought I'd get your take on how you think my Raiders will do this year I think they have a good chance to improve with the young talent they have and Zach Miller could br the next great tight end. Dan
The Raiders seem to have some nice, young talent and a QB, Russell, who seems to be starting to get it after holding out most of his rookie year which was not smart. The battling coaches is another issue. The Raiders still seem to be a little disjointed in the front office and in the coaches room. When they are good they help make the NFL more interesting.
J.R., The college football season cannot get here soon enough. I was watching a preview show the other day and of course all eyes were on October 17 in Dallas but I will be watching on October 10, too, when Florida goes to LSU and Alabama takes on Ole Miss. What's your analysis on those two huge SEC games as we all get ready for OU-Texas?
Trap game for Florida that if they win then they are bad to the bone. B eating LSU in Baton Rouge is tough. I think Alabama beats Ole Miss but Coach Nutt and QB Snead are awfully good.
Hey there J.R. I'm the guy who wrote about being in the audience when you and Ernie Ladd were at the table, a classic UWF double-tv taping. So as a guy who left Oklahoma for many years, just to return lately, I gotta tell you don't sweat BYU too much! I know you know your football, and all true fans stress almost every game to an extent. (Exception: Utah State. That's a "Just please nobody get hurt" game. But I think you can expect the offense, with it's still-coming-together O-line, to put up 45. And as for our D, I think it's gonna shine in this game. Maligned all of last season, those guys will be Motivated. OK, Boomer Sooner, JR. Hope to see you when Smackdown comes to T-town.
OU will cover the 21 1/2 point spread against BYU but "fretting" over the games is part of the fun.
Favre in Minnesota or Vick in Philly, are these good or bad moves and which will work out the best?
2 different scenarios. Favre is expected to take the Vikes to the Super Bowl and any thing less will likely be considered a bust while Vick's expectations are not even to start for the Eagles.

I'm not big on wagering but I appreciate the opportunity. No one in Oklahoma is taking the BYU game lightly I assure you. I will be at the game on the Sooner sideline if things go as planned and have no issue telling you that I am concerned. The "playoffs" in college football start on September 5 as far as I am concerned. Best of luck with your health which is infinitely more important than a football game. Be well.
Hey Jr, what is your opinion on Bret Farve. I am in Wisconsin and have liked Farve for so long, but lately it seems as though he can't make up his mind staying retired, do you think he'll join the Vikings at all or should he stay retired?
I think Bret has decided to hang it up but whether he does or he doesn't, he will always be one of my all time favorite NFL players. His competitive spirit and will to compete are great traits for anyone in any walk of life.
