The MLS has a modest following, maybe it's growing - but if so, it's growing slowly. I wonder if a sport like soccer with a lot of 1-0 and 0-0 scorelines can ever truly grip the action-hungry American sports market. A lot of the MLS' fans are recent immigrants or 1st or 2nd generation "ethnic" Americans like me -- something tells me that unless and until the kind of Americans who watch NASCAR and NCAA football embrace soccer, the sport will never truly "make it" in the US sports market.

It's going to be challenging in the States but lots and lots of kids are playing it.
