I knew him more as a great sax player due to his many hit records as well as his success in the NBA. However, I did not know he was a 3 time All-American Sooner. I had the pleasure of meeting him last year at the Capital Jazz festival in DC and he was a great guy. Just thought I share in case you haven't heard. I heard about it Friday morning and it has been the talk of all the radio stations and TV news here in Oklahoma all day. Big, smiling Waymon cast a huge shadow over this state.
