Hi JR, Before UFC 100, Frank Mir was saying Fedor was the best heavyweight and didn't know if he or anyone could beat him. But since UFC 100, Frank Mir said Brock would kill Fedor in a cage and possibly a ring too. And he also said that Fedor is ducking top competition in himself, Lesnar, Nogueira, Carwin, etc. Shane Carwin also said that Brock is the best Heavyweight in the world and Fedor is being protected by Strikeforce.. Why do u think Frank Mir has had such a change of heart?
MIr might have had a change of heart for two reasons...one, Lesnar owned Mir at UFC 100...and Fedor decided to not sign with UFC who employs MIr.
Hey JR, have you been to a live UFC event? Are you planning on seeing it when it comes to Oklahoma in September? Just like with WWE, it's a different experience seeing it live.
As I wrote in today's blog, I plan on seeing a UFC event live for the first time when they stop in OKC.
What will come first, Peace in the Middle East or a Pittsburgh Pirates winning season.
I think peace in the Middle East is an oxymoron and will never happen as their civil war has endured for ages. I think Pittsburgh has to keep a core of young players long enough to give themselves a chance. I'll go with the Pirates in a close one.
Do you think Chuck Liddell is really "done" im not chuck but it seems if he started training again and got his edge back he could come back and knock out Rashad, dean of mean, and especially the quinton jackson (oh what a cocky sob!) and WILL ANYONE ever beat anderson silva? Rich Franklin whos from Cincy fought him twice...now he's traing with silva. I would love to see Richard Franklin step up and knock silva out. But I doubt a 3rd figt will happen. Also...Tito is soooooo overtated. His fight againgst mark coleman? cmon!! coleman was done 6 years ago. Tito should be in his prime now but to me he's a has been. And most of the time he fights has beens. he only wins against has beens. JR could u see tito and brock? brock would destroy him! I think SHelton should give MMA a try too. take care and have a good one today mr. ross
I hope that Chuck is done in the ring. He's done it all and his legacy is intact. No one is unbeatable and in UFC if one fights long enough the likelihood is that they will lose at some point.

Brock Lesnar vs Shane Carwin @ UFC 106... what do you think of this fight? Carwin is pretty much almost as big as Brock and has bigger gloves than Brock.. his KO power is tremendous (he KOed Gabe Gonzaga with a jab), he is 11-0 (all his fights have ended within the first 3 minutes).... any predictions? I think shane is an overrated hype train, hes fought all cans besides gabe gonzaga (who handled him until shane used that big right hand of his)... Brock by TKO/KO round 1.
Should be a good battle....can Carwin go 2-3 rounds....can Lesnar avoid Carwin's bombs....both men have advanced amateur wrestling skills....until someone proves that they can beat Brock, I will still hang my hat on Lesnar. However, in MMA anyone can be beat which in turn makes most of their bouts fun to watch.
What do you think of Victoria (former WWE diva) saying she wants to fight Kim Couture (Randy Couture's wife or ex wife, i dunno)?
I'm all for Victoria aka Lisa Marie Varon getting into MMA and think that Women's MMA is going to be a potentially big deal to Strike Force coming off the heels of Carano-Cyborg if Showtime and Strike Force follow up in a timely manner with the ladies and set out to make new stars.
Hello J.R. from Idaho again (as in Boise State, not the U of I from up north. With your loyalty to University of Oklahoma, and an MMA fan, if scheduling allowed, would you personally be allowed to call a game or an MMA event ? I've heard of wrestlers working independent matches as well as their "day job", so to speak.
The MMA stuff would likely be considered a conflict of interest of which I get due to the competition for the PPV dollar, etc. However, the OU Football situation seems to me as if it would be a different matter altogether. If I had the chance to broadcast OU Football I would do it in a heartbeat no matter the consequences.
hey j.r. so i see ur hating on fedor 4 not signing with the ufc...in my opinion it was smart of him 2 sign with strickforce 1st so he can get used 2 fighting in a cage. usually fighter that go from a ring 2 a cage don't do 2 good in the cage (cro cop 4 example).he'll learn how to use the cage to his advantage & what to do when he's getting pushed up against the cage....plus the rules are diferrent in cage fighting, u can't kick or knee a down opponent.
No "hating" just an opinion. I would have advised Fedor to go where the big money was and fight the best in the world. M-1 was trying to double dip or so it appeared.
