Wrestling › Hello Mr. Ross: Hope you are enjoying your
slightly less hectic schedule and wish you a
speedy recovery. My question is concerning Ken
Mantell who was a heck of a wrestler and one
time NWA Jr. Heavyweight Champ. He also had
quite a feud with Paul Orndorff in the Mid
South days. Do you ever hear from him or know
what he is up to these days? Had the pleasure
of speaking with him once, and he was a very
nice guy. Probably a long shot for the HOF,
but consider he was in the UWF when it was
purchased by Crockett's NWA which was purchased by Turner's WCW, which was bought by WWE, so what the heck, he might qualify. Thank
you for your time. JL, Minden, La.

J.R.'s Answer:
I have lost touch with Ken but I think that he still lives in north Texas. Ken was an underrated competitor and had a viable creative mind. As far as him going into the WWE HOF, I really don't know but I would say his chances were marginal.
