Wrestling › Hey Jim, I have a weird question for ya, and I hope you can answer it to the best that you can. I have close to every WCW/NWA PPV and Clash that was televised and I am curious to why in 1991 when WCW broke away from the NWA, that in 1992 WCW devoted a whole Clash of the Champions and Great American Bash in crowning new NWA Tag Champions. Wouldn't the NWA Tag Champions be the WCW Tag Champions?? I never understood how the NWA World and Tag Titles came back in WCW when supposedly the WCW World and Tag Titles were the NWA Titles. If you can shed any light on this cluster muck of situation it would be so greatly appreciated, because I have wanted to know this for years and years. Thanks J.R.

J.R.'s Answer:
I can't shed any light on it because this was another illustration of the chaos and mismanagement in WCW in that period. Turner's blue suits knew little about the business of wrestling and was seemingly embarrassed to be associated with it. It could have also been some trademark BS with the NWA. Who knows??
