Start ShoppingJ.R. I was wondering how do you feel about TNA, because it reminds me of the old WCW. How they started in the small venues, had the "big time names" but still didn't draw so much of a audience to give WWE a run for there money. Also, with do you think TNA should have moved to monday nights so fast, I think they should have stayed on thursdays until the fan base was established.
I think that TNA has a lot of work to do before they can begin to find the success that they need and want. Perhaps starting an hour before Raw might help them. Obviously producing an alternative product is imperative. Their replay on Thursdays isn't a bad idea but Spike really needs to commit with promotional time to give their wrestling product a fighting chance. Spike averages a .7 rating so why would anyone think it realistic that TNA is going to increase the network average 200% or so?
Dear JR, My name is Kyle Robinson i'm 19 years old and I know this may seem a little off the wall but here's the deal, I've been a wrestling fan since I was six years old, recently i began going to school for broadcasting taking the first step in trying to achieve my ultimate goal of someday calling the action in the WWE. I was wondering if you could give me some pointers on how to possibly break into the WWE or if not just some pointers on how to get into the business in some way. I tried sending a letter via us mail but idk if it ever actually arrived. Anything that you could tell me would be very benificial, I thank you for everything, my email adress is slim1386@hotmail.com, Thanks Again, Kyle
Education and experience are the two keys. Finish college...get experience broadcasting whatever you can. Get tapes of all your work and listen to it, study it, and make it better. Watch and listen to tapes of other broadcasters that you enjoy. Try and determine what makes them good. Volunteer to broadcast indy, pro wrestling shows. Education and experience will be the keys to your success.
Well, I used the entire bottle of the Original BBQ Sauce to make two Pizza's.. Everybody that tried the sauce and the pizza said it was EXCELLENT!! They love how the sauce has a sweet flavor to it... Substituting your sauce for Domino's BBQ sauce was a damn good one for a few crew Pies..Haven't tried the Ketchup or the Hot BBQ yet..
Good feedback. Perhaps we can turn on the Dominoes big shots to a new product that will rock their world. Hey, somebody is going to create a new, sellable, delicious product. Right?
Did you watch Shutter Island, are you a fan of Martin Scorsese?
Love Scorsese but haven't seen the movie yet. A friend said it was just o.k.
Hi JR, I was wondering with all the short term contract signing and resigning how will you respond upon coming back onto WWE tv? Will you be bringing out your own announce table again? Also can you bring back Razor and Diesel? Or will you be bringing back King Mabel, Masked Kane, and Dr. Yankeem this time?
Are you drinking or attempting to be funny? If I return to the WWE broadcast booth I will do my best to kick ass and help entertain the TV viewers. How much time did you devote in strategizing to ask this profound question? I have merely signed two, contract extensions while negotiations are on going which isn't really that unusual.
Hey JR, I've always wanted to know how on god's green earth you and The King ever finished your announcing duties at Over the Edge the night Owen Hart fell? I watched the PPV live and I was so broken up I could barely continue to watch. I have the greatest respect for you both for being able to continue, and hearing your voice was almost like hearing a father walk his child through a painful time. So thank you for that as well.
We sucked it up, suppressed our feelings and remained as professional as we possibly could while doing our job. I hope that I never have to experience any thing like that again.
Hey Jr, I'm from Mexico, been a wwf fan for over 20 years and a huge SCSA fan. I was a little dissapointed last Monday at Raw I was hoping the rattle snake to get a little more involved in the action I know he wont wrestle again but a beer bash and a couple of stunners would have been nice. Also any explanation on his plain black T-shirt? Wish you a speedy recovery.
AS Steve would say this past Monday night wasn't about him but about him helping draw attention to one particular storyline. That's how it works. The focus of Raw was to build WM26 and Steve likely won't be there as he's on the road promoting "Damage" out on DVD on March 23.
JR you where no doubt one of the greatest commentators in WWF/WWE history. But a bit of a question or two that has been circulating in my mind. First, I know Mr. McMahon changed WWE into a PG family network for ratings and get more money. But truly it screwed like half of the die hard fans back then, and brought children heros. Plus not to put anything down on WWE, but in the future it will die out. The stories are getting old a redone over constantly, champions stay champions based off of popularity. I mean every thing is just gotten way boring. Even WWE tried bringing back old faces, I used to love them. But now they're just old and follow the PG standards. Plus the new fresh faces of the industry are boring, or just plain whack. Like I known when ECW came back it would die out in a couple years. Due to the fact of how it is owned by wwe and to follow guidelines of PG. That the original hardcore, bada** ECW wouldnt survive. I stood out to be right. Plus now I think WWE will die out because of TNA, disagree with me or not. I think it will. A lot of the WWE stars switched to that over the years. Now the supposed Monday night wars may fuel up again. Im not sure if you answer this or not. But do you think TNA might have an overpowering factor due to WWE being P.G.? I know I made this long and I gave a lot of low blows to WWE, but I had to ask someone from the industry itself!
Bad TV can fall under many ratings headings. I have no issues with PG especially for the long haul nor do I think that smartly created PG wrestling shows have to be "boring" to hardcore fans. TNA likely isn't going to be PG or so it seems which may help them but their recent ratings don't indicate a spike, no pun intended, in the ratings. We will all know more in 6-8 weeks.
Hey, JR! How do they choose referees for matches? I've noticed that the senior refs usually get main events, but not always; is there some sort of method other than experience? Thanks!
Nothing scientific as some refs work better with some talents and some talents request specific referees that they have more confidence in.
Thanks for answering my past 2 questions, I think its awesome you take the time to talk with the fans. Anyways, I'm from good ol' St. Louis Missouri and as if you didnt know, we love Pork Steak with a passion. My question to you is how you would season one and with which one of your sauces? Thanks
The Original Sauce is sweeter and non vinegar tasting and I think it would make your pork roast smile. You might even mix the Original and the Chipotle Ketchup and see what you come up with.
