Dear Mr. Ross, Hope you are feeling better and recovering as quickly as possible. Do you think that Swagger, Sheamus, Bourne, Knox are being promoted to the"big" shows too quickly? It seems as if any time any young guy on ECW shows something he gets sent to Raw or Smackdown, and then gets lost in the shuffle. Like your BBQ, why not let them cook slowly? I love that Kofi is getting featured right now,but until and unless these younger guys are allowed to beat some more established stars ( Cena, HHH, Orton, Undertaker) they won't be taken seriously by the casual wrestling fan. Thanks as always for your time, Andrew and I can't agree with you more about the subject of managers in wrestling.
I think that they should be thrown in the deep of the pool in a timely fashion and with plenty of planning so that we can all see if they are "swimmers" or pretenders. These young guys need to compete and associate with the main eventers for consecutive weeks to see where they really are and how they will be perceived.
Do you think that Josh Mathews, as a guy having had in-ring experience, would do a good job on color commentary? The reason I ask is because I would love to see Todd Grisham moved back to ECW with Josh on color and have you back at the play-by-play spot on SmackDown alongside Matt Striker. I really miss you being the main guy in the booth calling the action, because no one in the business can enhance a wrestling TV program like you can. And I think yourself and Matt Striker would make an amazing team. What do you think? And I hope you get well soon.
WWE feels my play by play days are history. My new role is that of an analyst and whether I embrace it or not the pays the same. I don't dislike it as it is simply a new role that I am still adapting to and will likely continue when I get back to work. If I don't go back on weekly TV it won't be the end of the world.
JR, you have been a true professional in the wrestling business. It certainly seems like you are establishing a great BBQ business. And also fortunate enough to have a wonderful better half that you speak of often.It is easy to see how much you miss the wrestling job but With your recent bells palsy ordeal and not being on the road with the WWE job it also seems like you are enjoying the time off. Not that I think it is time for you to pass the torch because I am a firm believer that "they will be selling snow cones in hell before they will find someone to fill your shoes". I guess I am trying to suggest to you that maybe it is time to stop and smell the roses? Take advantage of your success and spend more time with the family and restaurant business. Again your the best and just a suggestion.
Getting back on the road with a weekly schedule isn't my top priority at this time and may never be my top priority again.
Hi Jim, Whoever came up with the idea of having different guest host on RAW has a good head on their shoulders. It gives the fans a variety of their favorite celebs to watch in a different forum compared to what they are use to doing. Kudos to WWE. My questions to you are, do you know if WWE be doing the same thing with Smackdown? Also one person that I really miss seeing on WWE is The Rock. Will he one day soon become a guest host on RAW?
I don't know why WWE would want to water down the guest host idea by doing it on SD too. I would probably say a "yes" on the Rock being a Raw Guest Host but that's merely my opinion. He's indicated that he would be interested if the timing worked out with his schedule, etc.

No...I really haven't had any dealings with Ox Baker over the years but certainly have met him a few times.
First off J.R. good luck to you in dealing with your recent health issues. My wife and I look forward to seeing you on WWE T.V. real soon. With all this talk recently about your health it got me wondering how is Gerald Brisco these days?
Thanks...Gerald is improving daily and is doing super from what he tells me. We are in touch weekly and he seems to be getting better and better every day. Gerald is the salt of the Earth and a great human being as is his famous and handsome :) brother Jack.
Hey J.R. First off I wanna say get well soon, the WWE just doesn't sound the same anymore. I wanna ask why the WWE doesn't put credits on its TV shows or DVDs. I have worked in television and know the long hours that people behind the scenes put in, and think that they deserve a lot of credit for the hard work they do.
I heard the reason one time but I can't recall. I've always found that matter strange but I assume that there is a viable reason.
Hello JR. I have a number of questions. But I fell like to don't like to answer too many questions as once so I will limit myself. My first batch of questions (this time it will be 2, but there will be more to come regarding this subject) revolves around someone who I fell wasn't used to his fullest potential. That man is Tatanka. 1. What has Tatanka been up these days? 2. Out of his first WWF run & his second WWE run, which did you like better? Why? You are in my thoughts. Get better as soon as possible.
I don't know what Tanaka is up to these days but last I heard he was living in the Mid Atlantic area IE the Carolinas. Some one will know. His first "run" in WWE seemed to be more memorable than his second.
Hey Jr: Hope you're doing well, it certainly reads like you are and that's great news, I think that every difficult situation brings some good into our lives and hopefully you're getting an opportunity to see how much and how many people love and wish you the best. I didn't get a chance to catch the Vikings and the Packers because the game was on at the same time as my bolts were giving the raiders a whoopin' for the 13th straight time! but I hope to catch it on NFL network later this week! Well after all that here's my question: Do you think that we'll ever see the return of the long title reigns? maybe not a 4 year run but something over a month would be nice.
I'm not a fan of short title reigns either but I'm also far removed from the decision makers who decide such stuff. No one can provide you a definitive answer on your question but month long title reigns are essentially benign.
no question. just to say we missed you on Smackdown's Friday(Oct 30). we did not know what to think when they introduced striker as your replacement. did not know until i checked your site that you suffered another attack of bell's palsy. sorry to hear that, you have been a part of my life for more tnan 30 years with wrestling and a part of my families life longer than that. i am a member of the frank and Minnie Clinton family of Westville OK. but now live at park hill OK.well the point is we wish you better health and we will continue to pray for you. by the way thank you for the autographed picture you sent we love it. best wishes in the future, the Michael, Lydia, and henry Tyler Clinton family.
