Leading up to the Memphis Mayoral elections, one Jerry "the King" Lawler was seen on Raw sporting a Lawler for Mayor shirt. I was wondering if you ever thought about sporting a J.R.'s BBQ pin on your lapel?
I w ear an OU pin but it isn't likely WWE will ever promote my brand in a positive manner.
How was your experiences in Trenton, NJ a few weeks back for Smackdown.
Short but pleasant as we arrived about 4 p.m. and left as soon as the show was over to head to the Philly Airport.
Hi J.R., Why is it that whenever you visit the UK, you never go on any talk show?
Because I've never been invited. Should I just show up and ask to go on live TV? WWE books their wrestlers on these shows because they perceive that only the wrestlers are "stars."
Hey JR hope you and your wife had a great anniversary celebration. My wife and I are only 2 yrs behind you. I was wondering if you have heard anything more about when Stone Colds next movie is due out? And I thought HHH had a movie coming out at one time a few years ago. Hope all goes well against Texas.
"Damaged" should be out on DVD in the States very soon. It's available now in the UK and selling well. I know nothing of a HHH movie.
Hi J.R., do you think Shawn Michaels should be worried about being replaced in DX by Mark Yeaton? I have to say his running in circles on Monday night was second to none.
Yes...HBK has much to worry about re: Yeaton's running in circles. I thought that was an entertaining moment Monday night on Raw. I will defer my final decision until I see Yeaton's Sweet Chin Music.
Hey JR, love the website. I know you probably get this question a lot but I feel that ECW just isn't worth watching. It's nowhere near as strong as the other brands and it's hardly extreme anymore thanks to the PG Rating. ECW was left out of Hell in a Cell and now out of Bragging Rights, which is all about brand superiority. Why don't they just scrap ECW and add the roster to other shows? Or do a redraft to make all three brands more equal?
You would have to ask "them" as I don't have your answer. I think ECW is a good spot for many young talents to get TV time. I don't see "them" scrapping the #1 rated show on Sy Fy.
Hey JR, Just a few things..., Is the Jeff Hardy arrest thing really true or is it just a WWE storyline? Because, I know TNA tells stories just for rumors and gossip. I never cared for TNA. WWE is and always will be my wrestling home. Also, I'm so sick of people asking about Undertaker, Shawn & others about there future retirement. I think they should stop asking those questions until the wrestlers really announce some sort of retirement there-selves. I love it that WWE added Ultimate Warrior to the Alumini section on the WWE website. I hope WWE produces a brand new Warrior DVD, But make the next one a 3 Disk Set. Do you think you will ever return to RAW to be back with Lawler, ever again? Do you know if Marty Jannetty, Scott Hall, Brutus Beefcake, Sid, Savage, Warrior, Honky Tonk Man, Greg Valentine & others in there time, will ever return or wrestle in a WWE ring ever again? Unless the police in North Carolina have nothing better to do than to fabricate stories to facilitate a wrestling storyline, I am willing to bet a case of sauce that Jeff's legal issues are not fictional. Of course, Jeff's legal issues are real. Raw is WWE's #1 TV priority and they have the broadcast team on it that upper management wants and that doesn't include me. I'm good with it.
Hello J.R. A few months ago, John Cena beat Big Show in a submission match. He used the ropes with the Big Shows leg for an STF, but wouldnt think count as rope break? Also did Steve Austin enjoy the soccer match last week, thats if you spoke to him since of course. Thankyou for the oppurtunity to ask you questions, we really appreciate it. Oliver from UK
I think that the submission match could only end via submission so disquaifications andf countouts were non factors. Steve had a great time at the soccer game and has a new found appreciation for the entire process of the fans and the players.
Hay JR, Sam here from all the way off in Australia. Going to see both Smackdown and Raw again when they come. I actually have 2 questions, Q1. Do you think sometime in the near future WWE and TNA will be at war somewhat like how WCW and WWE were back in early 2002. Obviously TNA has a long way to go as they usually only wrestle in front of around 3000 people where WWE is over 16000 each week, what are your thoughts. Q2. I have been going to wrestling when it has come to Australia for the past 5 years running I believe and I have never ever seen you or King there. I have been to see both Raw and Smackdown/ECW and no commentators were there. I know that it isnt televised but the fans would love to see you and King be there. Think about it for the upcoming smackdown tour hope to see you there. By the way, am going to buy some of that great BBQ sauce shortly, I have been told it tastes like heaven.
1. there will be no WWE/TNA "war" in my view unless a powerful TV network buys TNA and I haven't heard that they are for sale.
2. WWE doesn't travel the TV announcers to non televised events as a rule to save on wear and tear on the individuals and to save on expenses. Plus, JR & The King was great while it lasted but those days seem to be history.
