Hello Mr Ross. Sorry to use the "Wrestling" category but none of the others fit and it's through wrestling that I know of you. I have been diagnosed with Bell's Palsy. During a phone call about 230 this morning (Tues Nov 10th) I felt a numbing on the left side of my face. I blamed it on being tired, frustrated and having leaned on my left hand to long. During another call that woke me up around 430 this morning I felt worse and a little worried. When the alarm went off at 600 I knew something was bad wrong. A trip to the mirror confirmed it for me. Because I'm a fan I knew of your dealings with Bell's Palsy in life. It is because of you that I learned what it is years ago and knew the signs when it happened to me today. Thank you for being so open about your Bell's Palsy issues Mr. Ross. If it wasn't for you I would have taken a stupid "Wait and see" approach and done damage. JR, I would like to address the 'Overrated' sign from Raw this week. My Name is Joey, and for 20 years I have followed, invested in and contributed to the company. I have a degree and masters degree in which i have heavily focused upon creating good academic works around the wrestling field..... On Monday night, while having good seats to a RAW tapings, myself and my friend decided to make signs in a bid to have a little fun...and, amongst others, I am indeed guilty of making that sign. I stand by what it says and respect that you have addressed it in such a way. The intention was to maybe spark off a conversation between fans and see who took this opinion. If anything, the sign was as much to re-attack the 'Michael Cole backlash'..as I feel he is largely UNDERRATED. It certainly was not meant to come across as cold in the same manner as the previous sign you have referred to. My reason for writing is simply to ask; in response to the 'sign police' comment. Who would have made the decision to remove that sign? (as it was confiscated!), and on what grounds did that person justify taking my personal property, especially as, as you state, it was not in bad taste or offensive? Thank you for your time and consideration - and if you, or anybody associated with the incident - are at the Raw house show on Thursday in Birmingham - I want my sign back! :) all the best, JOEy B
Regarding your sign on Raw, I'm sorry you feel that I'm overrated but that's your prerogative. Perhaps you're right. For someone with a Masters Degree one would assume that you would have made a positive sign to support Michael Cole rather than take a swipe at me even if, as you indicated, it was just having a little fun of which pro wrestling is supposed to be. Nonetheless I thought your sign was humorous. I was joking about the "Sign Police" as I don't know who makes the call to confiscate signs that are perceived to be offensive or hurtful. I assume someone in the production truck. But it's not something that I have ever got involved with as I never perceived it to be a big deal either way. I have nothing to do with your aforementioned and alleged "Michael Cole backlash" as you call it nor do I think such a backlash exists. Our broadcasting styles are entirely different, as they should be, which doesn't make either of us the bad guy.
I was surprised to see you were friends with Jeremy Shockey. Couple questions about the TE, What was the reaction around Oklahoma when he chose to go to Miami? I know nobody would be legitimately mad at an 18 year old, but was it a big story? Also when he comes home does he get razzed for his "U over Sooners" decision? He went to Miami from NEO a JUCO in Miami, Oklahoma and wasn't heavily recruited by OU as they were going thru a coaching change during Jeremy's sophomore year and they missed on him.
Hello Mr. Ross, I hope you get to feeling better soon. On the bright side at least it's football season and not olympic figure skating all over the TV. Anyhow, I was just reading on your site where you said regarding the wrestling business "if I had my way many things would change." I'm just curious if you did have your way what would you do differently? Thanks for all your hard work and I look forward to seeing you call the action on RAW or SMACKDOWN!!
I'll keep my personal theories to myself as I am not paid to divulge them and why give away the good stuff for free? Needless to say one thing that I will say is that the business is way over thought and needs to get back to its roots.
Did you see the sign at raw that said JR is overrated. That's just not true.
I'm a big advocate of freedom of speech. No worries here. I guess the sign police was taking a donut break. :) My wife doesn't think I'm overrated either but "under paid" could be another issue. I guess that's one way to get "J.R." on TV but I would have preferred a different kind of sign as in something with BBQ on it.
Just a couple of comments I really like the fact that your store items are so reasonable priced that i can afford them. also i really cant wait to try out all the sauces and the dry rub. it will go great with chicken on the grill and the free shipping is really nice of you too! hope you feel better

Hey Jr,David from Dublin here,just quickly want to wish you a speedy recovery , 2 questions, In your Opinion do you think the art of the manager has been lost in recent years,especially with wrestlers who arent that great on the mic etc, i can really see some superstars like Shelton Benjamin, Sheamus,Vladimir Koszlov or Mike Knox really benefitting from someone the likes of Bobby heenan, mr fuji or jimmy hart doing the talking for them and saying how mean and bad they are etc...some suggestions being matt striker, Jason Sensation( in a harvey whippleman kind of role), My Next Question is more a suggestion than a question, How would you feel about the WWE operating in seasons so that the product doesnt become stale and talent gets a well deserved break etc..e.g January to the run up to wrestlemania, May with the run up to summerslam and october with the run to survivor series ?? thank you for your time sir
Not doing reruns on TV affects WWE from having a season but it still doesn't preclude talents from getting planned and systematic time off.
Hey Jim, I have a weird question for ya, and I hope you can answer it to the best that you can. I have close to every WCW/NWA PPV and Clash that was televised and I am curious to why in 1991 when WCW broke away from the NWA, that in 1992 WCW devoted a whole Clash of the Champions and Great American Bash in crowning new NWA Tag Champions. Wouldn't the NWA Tag Champions be the WCW Tag Champions?? I never understood how the NWA World and Tag Titles came back in WCW when supposedly the WCW World and Tag Titles were the NWA Titles. If you can shed any light on this cluster muck of situation it would be so greatly appreciated, because I have wanted to know this for years and years. Thanks J.R. Bill
I can't shed any light on it because this was another illustration of the chaos and mismanagement in WCW in that period. Turner's blue suits knew little about the business of wrestling and was seemingly embarrassed to be associated with it. It could have also been some trademark BS with the NWA. Who knows??
