I have a couple questions for you in regards to schools building up their football programs. 1. What do you think it would take to build Arizona State's football program. They have these monster players but lose the basic games. 2. University of Arizona boo's Coach Mike Stoops there. Does he need to steal his brother's Oklahoma playbook for the Wildcats to have a shot. 3. Do you think next year will be the year that Houston Nutt wins the SEC? Ole Miss fans really love the guy. Thanks, and I am ordering the Chipolte Ketchup.. Heard nothing but great things about it.

J.R.'s Answer:

The key to building any college football program is recruiting. ASU has tradition and a respected coach who seems to need time to get 4 years of his recruited players on campus. Arizona has a dynamic coach in Mike Stoops who just received a 3 year extension after winning 8 games and a bowl game. Mike is a great motivator and a defensive genius who can recruit but he needs time to make a hoops school into a football school. As it relates to the two Arizona schools, there are not an over abundance of division one high school prospects in Arizona so their out of state recruiting efforts are crucial. Houston Nutt is a helluva football coach, an expert recruiter and motivator who had a surprisingly good first year at Ole Miss. I think the Rebels will be good in 09 but them winning the tough SEC might be too much to ask this early in Nutt's regime.
