Just in case you didn't know, the Oklahoma City Barons (Edmonton affiliate) are facing the Toronto Marlies (Toronto) in Western Final of the AHL playoffs. I know that hockey has roots in Tulsa (Toronto affiliate in 70's), but how's the hockey coverage there now? I hope you can take in a game in the series. You'll enjoy it.

J.R.'s Answer:

Hockey in Oklahoma has a small but loyal, longtime following. I need to check out the Barons.

Hey JR, quick question. Will you be watching any of the two massive 'soccer' games in Europe today (05/19/2012)? The two richest games in world sport with the winners receiving $142.3m (Championship Play-Off Final) and $79m (European Champions League Final)!! My team (Blackpool) is playing in the Championship Play-Off Final for promotion to the EPL! Hope you're well.

J.R.'s Answer:

 Likely not but good luck!

Hey JR this is a 2 part question. 1) do you think we'll ever see mayweather vs pacquiao? & 2) do you even care if those 2 fight or are you like this older man(he's like 50) at work told me he said "i really don't care if those 2 fight, i've seen plenty of great fights in my life to even care about those 2 fighting"

J.R.'s Answer:

I think they fight in the next 12-18 months.

hi J.R. Just thought i would sent a message showing my appreciation to you with regards to you saying in your last blog that you enjoyed rugby. I played rugby semi professionally for 10 years but due to work and family commitments sport had to take a back burner but i enjoyed it nonetheless. Im quite suprised that the U.S.A. have not had the great success it possibly should have at rugby seeing that there are a lot of big men in the U.S. who would be perfect for the game with the right training. Also wanted to let you know that last week i was diagnosed with Bells Palsy which shocked me to say the least. Just came on when i woke up one day. Been taking prendiscolone and using my eye pads so hopefully wont be too long before im back to normal! I was actually feeling really sorry for myself as i work in security at cardiff university (where mason ryan studied!)and i was feeling paranoid as i felt people were constantly staring at me. Then i thought back to you and the fact that when you were announcing you would do it in front of an arena and worldwide audience and it put my own inadequacies into perspective! So thank you for indirectly getting me to stop feeling sorry for myself and getting on with life!! Thank You, Mike Cardiff U.K.

J.R.'s Answer:

Appreciate the kind words Mike. Hang in there. Stay positive. Tough guys don't quit.

I agree that UFC's PPV presentation is pretty predictable. It's virtually the same from when I started watching their PPVs in late 2004! Do you think this "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" attitude they have will hurt them down the road?

J.R.'s Answer:

UFC can't become predictable as it relates to their TV presentation and some where down the road they'll need to add more production elements to keep their product feeling fresh. This has zero to do with the fights but the look of the show, etc. No one, not even the NFL, can afford to get stale or predictable.

This is a general question. Didn't know where to post. Why are there so many toll roads in Oklahoma? Was going to visit Cowboy Hall of Fame in OKC & some Native American sites of interest around the Sooner state this Fall but don't want to spend fortune trying to get there! Frustrating!!!

J.R.'s Answer:

I assume the state needed the revenue to build the roads. It's about $3 to travel from OKC to Tulsa one way as I recall.

I'm sure that you've seen a lot of real fights in your eventful life. And I'd like to know which combat sport works best in a street fight in your opinion? I read thar Booker T. beat Batista with boxing and Jericho handled Goldberg with grappling. I read that Fedor mentioned in an interview that boxing works the best, which is quite interesting because he has a judo background.

J.R.'s Answer:

Most old schoolers will likely select wrestling over boxing in a street fight type environment. Take one's adversary down and controlling them has distinct advantages.

Off category here JR, As you may know it is the 2nd year anniversary of Possibly the greatest music artist of all time mine and a lot of others. I'm talking about King of Pop Michael Jackson what is your favorite song of he's and greatest moment? I understand you and your wife were invited to the Neverland ranch that surly would of been the most memorable. Your faults please as we celebrate today the life of Michael Jackson.

J.R.'s Answer:

My wife did attend a function at Neverland Ranch with the Jackson Family but Michael stayed isolated from the group. She never saw him but had a great time visiting with other member of the Jackson family many of who are WWE fans.

Hi Jim Ross. Just wanted to know if there was a bit of a "war of words" between yourself and The King, when the Oklahoma City Thunder played the Memphis Grizzlies a couple of weeks back in the NBA Playoffs?

J.R.'s Answer:

Not a one. We had friendly conversations about the Thunder-Grizz match up but The King isn't the fan of Memphis basketball as he is the Cleveland Indians or Browns.  No bets or arguments between us on the topic of NBA hoops.
